Quick little thing, I want to apologize for the lack of notice as to why there was no chapter last month. My grandfather was hospitalized for the 2nd time last month and it wasn't looking good for him. We weren't allowed visitation either due to Covid. I was worried sick and just really stressed and depressed with that and other unfortunate things going on with my life.
I wasn't in the right mindset to write anything. Luckily after 2 weeks my grandfather was doing much better and was soon discharged. I was taking care of him at home and making sure he wasn't overexerting himself. I told this to the people who joined my discord but those who weren't I realized I didn't give a reason why I didn't post last month.
With that I once again apologize and will make sure to give a notice or indication as to why there is no update. Now with that out of the way let's get back to it. AN will be at the end of the chapter.

Chapter 5 - Parent
Subaru sprang up in cold sweat, waking up like he was just in a nightmare. Gasping for air as he looked around his room. He was in his bed, and trying to remember what happened. He was drifting off to sleep last night but everything became hazy afterwards. However there was one thing he was sure of.
He met the Witches again at a Tea Party.
How was that even possible?! He shouldn't have had to deal with seeing them again until they went to the Sanctuary! And why can't remember anything properly.
He remembered seeing Echidna, she seemed mad. He thinks that they were arguing but he can't recall the conversation at all.
Subaru grabs his head in pain, flashes going through his mind of him trying to remember what happened afterwards but the more he tries the more painful it gets. Minerva appeared with Carmilla, and she and Satella were yelling at Echidna?
Subaru plops back down onto the bed and lets out a deep breath of air, giving up trying to remember. It was when he did this he realized something. There was now a necklace around his neck, adorning a beautiful back jewel. When did he get this?
*Knock Knock*
Before he could even answer, the door was already opened and a pink haired maid walked in. A plain expression on her face before it turned into her typical scowl when talking to him.
"Barusu, waking up late and making me wake you up. Pathetic, it's your second day working here and you're already slacking. Hurry and get in your uniform, we have to prepare breakfast" Ram scoffed as she swiftly walked out the room closing the door behind her.
'Wasn't expecting her to act like her usual self, though not that I'm complaining. I've been needing to think out my next plans but keep ending up in… scenarios not letting me concentrate' Subaru needs to be careful with the twins today and make sure he doesn't get wrapped up in another one of their naughty schemes.
At least until he prevents the village from getting attacked.
'Speaking of them, the two of them left the room last night without a word when he and Emilia were being intimate. I should probably ask them why' He said that they probably went to bed to Emilia because it was getting late, but that was just some excuse he made on the spot. He didn't actually think that, it was weird that they just left seeing how they started that whole situation.
With that on his mind, he got up and got ready to work his second day as a butler in this loop. He got dressed in his uniform, looked at himself in the mirror and saw the necklace. He forgot about it because Ram came into the room as soon as he first took notice of it. He didn't know why but with every fiber in his being he knew that the necklace was important. Should he tuck it away under his shirt or leave it out? What's even the point of hiding it, it would be better to ask someone if they know anything about it actually. It looked nice with his butler uniform anyways. With that he went to leave the room to start on his duties.
First things first though, he was going to check up on Emilia. He walked towards his door and opened it, however he was met with a familiar pair of eyes looking at him instead. He was not in the hallway outside his room but in the Forbidden Library.
"Beako?! I don't think I've ever accidentally entered your room except the first time I met you." Ever since he met her, he always knew which door he needed to go through and never went to the Forbidden Library just by chance again.

Inside the library was a room filled with books and a girl with curves in all the right places, she was sitting in the center of said library reading one. She had blonde hair in two pigtails that were spiraling resembling a drill. She had blue eyes with her pupils looking like a pink butterfly. She wore a pink frilly ornate dress with white trimmings. Also adorning her were pink and purple striped tights on her legs. Everytime he sees her he's reminded of how beautiful she looks. It's hard to tell with the clothes she was wearing but he could easily tell she had quite the bust. He never told her out of fear of her snapping and killing him however.
"You're talking ludicrous, I suppose. Saying things as if you came here numerous times when you've only been here once makes me question your sanity, in fact. And don't call Betty weird names!" Beatrice was sitting on her chair while holding an open book just as usual. She had a pout on her face however her expression quickly became serious.
"What's that you have around your neck? It's emitting a very... familiar aura, I suppose" Her gaze focusing on the black jewel. Should he just say the truth, that he has no idea where or how he even got it? There's no real point of hiding it, if worse comes to worse he'll just re-loop.
"I'm not exactly sure, I just woke up this morning and it was, well just there. It feels kind of eerie. If you know something about it, do you think you could tell me?" Subaru was hopeful of her having an explanation, the other two most knowledgeable in the mansion were Roswaal and Puck. Both he didn't really want to ask for help, surprisingly more wanting to avoid Puck. How he's going to explain himself to him for what he did with Emilia when he inevitably finds out, is a huge concern for Subaru.
Beatrice closed the book and placed it on the nearby table, standing up and walking closer to Subaru to inspect the necklace. He tried to look away when her bountiful chest that her pink dress didn't hide slightly bounced with each step she took. He failed at turning his gaze away and it's one that she didn't fail to notice. She didn't care however, as her interest was only on the piece of jewelry he possessed.
She was now standing just right in front of Subaru. Her being just a couple inches shorter of him, she only had to slightly lean forward in order to have a proper look of the black jewel. She reached her hand up and held the jewel, looking like she was appraising it for how much it's worth. After a few moments of silence of her inspecting it, she gave her answer.
"Betty's is unsure of the properties this possesses, you are free to ask others but the amount of people that know more then Betty are quite few, in fact" She let go of the jewel and turned back towards her chair and grabbed her book and sat back down. "Please feel free to inform Betty if you encounter anything new with it, I suppose"
Damn, Subaru was really hoping for Beatrice to know something about it. But she did say she felt a familiar aura, was she referring to Echidna? No, he shouldn't jump to conclusions. Beatrice is 400 years old, many people came seeking her knowledge. Even if she secluded herself to this room, there were many people she encountered that it could've been.
"I see, well if that's all I'm going to be on my way" Subaru turned around to leave the forbidden room. Beatrice had his door connected to the Forbidden Library because she had something she wished to discuss with him. However after what just happened, she decided not to. Subaru left the room, closing the door behind him, leaving her alone.
'His scent reminds me of mother, and now he has a jewel that emits a similar aura of hers as well. Maybe he is that person, I suppose' Beatrice thought to herself as the man left the room.
Subaru is now on his way to see Emilia, and as he starts nearing her room he starts to hear some yelling. The screaming gets louder as he gets nearer.
"Why would you even do that, Lia?! Why did you even let him do that?! You've only known him for 2 days!" Puck was yelling, and Subaru immediately knew what the two were talking about, and he couldn't even blame him. He was like a father figure to her, and he treated her as if she was his own daughter. If he was in Puck's shoes, he knows for sure he would be just as furious.
"Why are you mad? You said as long as he and I were alright with what we were doing then there was nothing wrong?!" Emilia however, despite what transpired the night before is very innocent and naive when it comes to things like this. If he was honest, even though Puck probably wanted nothing more to see him dead. He was on Puck's side. There was something affecting the woman he's come across. And he loves Emilia, however he really wanted what happens with the two of them came from that love, and not whatever has been happening since he restarted this loop.
The two kept going back and forth with each other, the argument not looking like it was going anywhere.
That being said, he did not want to go in that room now. Puck is furious and he knows a landmine when he sees one. However he didn't want to be the one who ended up straining Emilia's relationship with Puck just because he was too much of a coward to step in.
*Knock Knock*
"Emilia-tan, it's me Subaru. Do you think I can talk to you and Puck?" No need to beat around the bush, trying to dodge the situation would just look like him making excuses to Puck. Hopefully just truth and honesty is key, because if not… well he'll cross that bridge if it comes down to it.
"Subaru, come in and tell Puck that you said you were alright with what we did last night!" Emilia said with a much happier tone than she used when speaking to Puck. With that he opened the door and walked in.
"Wait a minute Lia you're still not-"
Before Puck could finish what he was saying, Subaru had already walked in and saw Emilia wearing nothing but her underwear.
"-properly dressed!" Well Puck tried.
Subaru quickly turned around so he wasn't staring, he didn't want to pour gas into a fire after all. Right now he needs to try and calm Puck down and-
"Subaru why are you facing away? You've already seen me without clothing last night" And Emilia did it anyway. Okay so things aren't going as smoothly as he thought but that's okay, he's still alive and breathing so it's okay.
"You touched me all over and it felt really gooood~ So you don't have to look away since we-"
"Emilia-tan! How about we, uh. You know, see if we can fix any misunderstanding that Puck might have!" Subaru really loves Emilia, he really does. But right now she's about to get Puck to murder him!
"Misunderstanding?! Just what misunderstanding do I seem to have, Subaru!" Puck was giving off a very dangerous aura around him. Okay, so he's up for discussion. That's good, now to explain himself.
"Subaru, tell him that you were alright with us kissing and touching when I asked you. I wouldn't lie about it" Emilia still doesn't seem to grasp about why Puck was angry.
"It's not about you two being fine with it Lia!" Puck looked like he was about to reach his limit.
"Then why are you so upset with what we-" However Subaru walked over and stepped between the two, cutting Emilia off and facing Puck.
"You" Puck said with a growl, he tried to give Subaru the benefit of the doubt. The boy said he had no idea what was going on, he saw first hand of him trying to tell Emilia to stop when he first woke up. However despite that he still laid his hands on her, if it happened once it could happen again. Puck was going to keep him away from Emilia, even if she came to hate him. Something was affecting her to act this way and until they could figure it out, he had to keep her away from the source. Subaru. Just as he was about to let them know, Subaru did something unexpected.
Subaru got down onto his knees and prostrated himself, just what in the world was he doing?
"I'm sorry! You have every right to be mad with me, you gave me your trust and I failed you. I don't have any excuse" Puck was shocked, but it quickly faded away with his fury returning.
"You think an apology is enough to just forgive and forget. You deflowered my daughter and-"
"We didn't have sex!" Puck was once again surprised. But Emilia said the two were in bed feeling each other up and getting more and more intimate. Subaru wasn't able to keep his word so it didn't make sense. They didn't go all the way?
"We were close, I won't try to deceive you. However I want whatever happens between me and Emilia-tan to be special so we didn't go any further last night" Subaru was sure Puck had the ability to tell if he was telling the truth, or at least his intent. So trying to make things better than they were might have a bad effect. Like he said, honesty and the truth was his best bet right now.
"Then why did you two even start to begin with, if you were able to stop then why couldn't you earlier" Puck still doubtful, he could tell he wasn't lying but things weren't just adding up.
Emilia stepped in "It's not his fault! Ram was teaching me about how babies were made. I felt embarrassed and like a child thinking they came from a kiss… then she said that Rem was giving Subaru practice on how to do so. She suggested we go watch them, and I agreed thinking it would give me a better insight" Emilia was trying to defend Subaru, even though she doesn't think he did anything wrong. But Subaru said Puck had every right to be mad, if both Puck and Subaru were saying that maybe it's just something she doesn't understand yet just like how babies were made.
She hated it, why doesn't she know. Why was Puck mad at Subaru even though it was her who initiated it. Even though Subaru has been nothing but sweet and kind to her, he's being treated as if he somehow hurt her. She just simply hated it.
"The maids?" Puck couldn't help but question. What did they have to do with this? Was this some sick twisted experiment conjured up by Roswaal? Was he the reason all of this was occurring?
Looking at Subaru "Is this true, were the two maids really involved" Puck needed more information.
Subaru hesitated to speak, he didn't want Ram and Rem to get involved with this. But he would be lying if he didn't believe that those two were the main factors that made what happened last night to occur. Not including whatever was affecting them. However if he tries to hide any detail and Puck notices, he'll lose what little trust he has left.
"Yes, Ram entered the room with Emilia-tan last night" He hopes that Puck doesn't take his anger out on them.
"Lia said they went to watch you practice, just what exactly were you two doing for practice" If Subaru wasn't sweating before, he sure was now.
"W-We were…. having sex" Subaru was scared. He couldn't lie though, he wanted Emilia to be happy and he didn't want to make her choose between him and Puck. He needed to have a good relationship with Puck. However he just told him he wanted what happened between Emilia and him to be special and he just confessed to having sex with another girl soon after.
There was nothing being said, silence was there for a few moments until Puck finally spoke his next words.
"Did you initiate it" Relief and worried Subaru was when he heard this. Puck was giving him the benefit of the doubt! However it looked like he was going to fault Rem and Ram and that worried him.
"No" Subaru had no choice but to tell the truth, he would try to diffuse the situation if one arises.
"Did you try to stop her"
"Yes" Was this the right answer? Sure he was regaining his trust. But this just didn't seem right at all for him. He felt a pit in his stomach for some reason.
Subaru was still prostrating himself, he didn't dare to look up. He just waited for Puck to give his final verdict.
"I'm sorry Lia but I'll need to talk to Betty. I'll be spending the morning with her" With that Puck floated away.
What did that mean? Was he still blaming him? Was he going to blame the twins? Subaru didn't know but he'd reason he would find out his answer soon.
With Puck no longer in the room, he stood up. "Well that could've gone worse, sorry that you had to see me like that Emilia-tan"
"Why"
"Well a guy doesn't really like to show a girl his weak side of him-"
"I thought it was bad if both people weren't fine with what they were doing" Emilia yelled.
"It is bad" What's got into her?
"Than why were you and Rem having sex if you said you weren't okay with it!" Oh. That's what.
"That's, well. It was fine since we were both enjoying it in the end" He definitely just said something sketchy.
"So it's fine if the other person isn't alright with it but likes it when they start doing it? But you still made me stop, why didn't you make Rem stop but you made ME stop!" Emilia was getting upset, and also Jealous.
"No! I didn't mean- I take back what I said, it's not okay to do that at all"
"Then why was it fine with Rem!" Subaru didn't know what to say. What was the answer to this? He felt like he was pushing all the blame to Rem and Ram.
"I-I don't know" Emilia didn't seem to like that answer, obviously.
"I don't understand what you're saying"
"Emilia-tan"
"I don't understand why Puck was mad at you"
"Emilia-tan it's just that-"
"I don't understand why you agreed with Puck being mad at you!"
Subaru didn't know how he should explain this to her, it just felt like he kept digging deeper into the rabbit hole.
"I'm sorry" Subaru didn't know what else to say, he felt sorry so he just apologized.
"I'm sorry you feel confused and don't understand what's going on" He goes to her and wraps her arms around her, pressing his forehead forward against hers so their eyes were locked onto each other. If his mind wasn't all over the place he would be relishing Emilia's almost completely nude body against him.
"I promise you that Puck has a very good reason to be upset, even if we're me and you were with what we did. He was justified to be upset, it's just something a caring parent does" He tries to give her a reassuring smile.
"Emilia-tan I apologized because what we were doing was too soon. It's something you do after you build a relationship, and that's what I want to do with you. I apologized because I know you and Puck care for each other. If I want to be with you, I want Puck to accept me being with you" Subaru moved his arm to cup her cheek.
Emilia-tan was silently listening to him, she didn't think Subaru had to apologize to Puck nor her. Yet somehow what he was saying just felt right to her. She didn't understand but she hoped in the near future she would.
"With that, in order to start building our relationship. I would like to ask you something" Subaru pulled away from their embrace, and it was with this he remembered her bare breast were out in all it's glory.
"What is it?" Emilia was still a bit confused with what was going on, but she decided to trust in both Subaru and Puck. If Subaru said Puck was mad because he was a caring parent. And Puck mad because she cared for her. Then that's just what she was going to believe.
He got a little distracted looking at her gorgeous bust, but thankfully she responded and that made him regain his concentration. He knelt down on knee and grabbed one of her hands, looking up, giving the basically naked Emilia a smile while winking.
"Let's go on a date!"
Emilia tilted her head, confused once more. "You said that last night, but what's a dayte?"
"..."
"..."
"Hahahahaha!" Subaru started laughing, forgetting that Emilia-tan didn't know what a date was, her saying that after all that, he doesn't know why but he couldn't help but give out a small chuckle.
"Moh, don't laugh at me!" She said as she crossed her arms underneath her breast, unknowingly pushing them up, emphasizing their size. Her face now having a slight pout.
"Sorry, I just couldn't help it" He rubbed the back of his head as he apologized.
"Jeez, Subaru you're such a dunderhead"
"Who even says that in this day and age" Subaru couldn't help but smile, it felt like he was talking to the normal Emilia again.
"So what's this dayte?" She leaned forward, still waiting to be answered.
His gaze shifted to her chest but quickly back to her face.
"You see Emilia-tan, a date is when two people who are or wish to be in a relationship go out together and spend the day with each other. We can go out and just talk, go to a flower field, cloud gaze or night gaze if the date is during the night time. We can go eat or just do anything really, it's just when we spend time with just the two of us and enjoy being with each other" He decided to be more detailed with his answer since last time she thought he and Rem went on one.
"So what I usually do with Puck?" And it still didn't matter.
"No, not like with Puck! You can't go on a date with your parents!" Subaru was wondering if anything he tried to do would even work in this loop, nothing was…
"Oh, well I would love to go on a dayte with you. Let's go now!" Emilia happily exclaimed.
"Wait what?" Subaru blinked as he saw Emilia quickly go to her wardrobe to get dressed.
"Let's go on a dayte" Emilia turned around to reply, than went back to choose what to wear. She didn't know which dress to pick since Puck always picked them for her, so she went with her favorite usual one.
"I can't today, Rem and Ram would be upset if I missed my second day of work!" Subaru tried to explain, he thought he would have to convince her to go to one like before but he was wrong.
"Well, they made you do it yesterday when you said it wasn't fine. So let's just do this and say it's fair and square" Emilia beamed with a smile as she started dressing up.
Subaru should probably say no so he could start on his duties, but if something were to happen with the sisters again today. His relationship with Emilia and Puck could sour, he didn't want that after everything that occurred this morning. Hopefully Rem and Ram aren't too upset.
Subaru decided to just go along with it and just hope for the best. "Okay, let's go on a date!"

Unfortunately this chapter was cut short, very soon after this is smut and since I'm this in November. Most importantly NNN. So I cut the chapter short. If it's any constellation I'll be posting 2 chapters in December! One in the beginning and the end of the month. It doesn't really make up the 2 months I didn't post and this one basically being half a chapter but that's besides the point!
Honestly I do feel bad not posting a chapter over 2 months and coming back with basically half a chapter.
Date next chapter! I'm very worried about how I'll be able to do fluff but I'll try my best and hopefully not disappoint you all. Next chapter will be fluff and smut right after with Subaru and Emilia finally sealing the deal. Let's just hope nothing gets in the way…
So Subaru wakes up with a foggy memory, he has trouble remembering what happened when he entered the Castle of Dreams, what could have happened in there?! And he got that new bling around his neck, Subaru's going up in the world.
Beako seems a lot more intrigued with Subaru now, first smelling like Echidna and now the new bling? Could he be 'that person'? Nah he's just getting drip for Emilia.
How'd you guys think about how it went down between Subaru and Puck. Am I mistaken that Puck can "feel" a person's intent? In the beginning Puck kept telling Emilia that it was fine to accept Subaru's help because he felt no ill intent/malice coming from him. If I'm wrong I'm just changing it so Puck is able to do that. Why? It's convenient for me.
Have you guys ever wondered what would happen if Subaru got sent to Vollachia and returned back to Emilia, but came back married to Priscilla?! Well if you did there's a fic called "Re:zero - The Awaited Return" by Archbishop-of-Crusch and it's a really good read that I highly recommend. And another chapter was released just a few days ago! Stop reading this and go read that instead!
