Hey, everypony! It's RainbowDashFan1797 back with another fanfic. This time, I'm doing something different. This is going to be my first ever Felidae story. Now before I start, I just want to say that I am NOT trying to plagiarize the story "Fan in Felidae". This story is going to be kinda the same thing, but way different. When I first read it, I really enjoyed it. And I'd be lying if I said I wasn't sad that it didn't get finished unfortunately. The concept interested me. A human girl ending up in the Felidae universe being turned into a cat. Which is why I decided to do my own take on it. Julia, if you happen to find this story and read the introduction, I want you to know that we miss you and want to see you finish your stories. Especially Fan in Felidae. Never give up on your dreams. In the words of Walt Disney, Keep Moving Forward. Now with that out of the way, let's begin this story which is called "Felidae: My First Murder Case". Enjoy! Disclaimer: I DO NOT own "Felidae". I only own Maddie.

Chapter 1: Human Life

You know, if someone told me a long time ago that I would be turned into a cat and get involved in a horrible murder mystery, I would've laughed at them and told them they were nuts. I would tell you more, but I'd be getting ahead of myself. Let's talk about before that. My name is Madeline Shimamura. But my friends call me Maddie. I was a 17 year old teenage Japanese-American girl who was born and raised in America along with my little brother, Koji who was 12.

My parents, Takeo and Reiko; their families were from Japan, but they were also raised in America. It is also the place where they met and got married. They taught me the ways of ninjas and samurais. So I know how to defend myself. Especially with a sword. Koji knows some of it, but he's still a novice. I guess you can say ninjas and samurais run in my family. But you wanna know what I was talking about when I said murder mystery in the beginning. This is where my story begins.

It all started on my 17th birthday. I was in high school and Koji was in middle school. I was in English class writing a paragraph, when the bell rang. I knew it was time for my next class; Gymnastics. For me, Gymnastics wasn't just a class I went to, but it was also one of my hobbies. In Gymnastics, I did acrobatics and tumbling. Pretty much, most of us were good at it including me. Of course, that could be the ninja in me.

After we were through, we went to the locker room to change out of our gym clothes. After that, my Gymnastics teacher, Mrs. Morgan called me over.

"Hey, Shimamura." She said.

I walked towards her.

"Yes, ma'am?"

"You and the rest of your class made me proud today. Even your other two friends who weren't good at gymnastics at first."

"You mean Arlene and Tara?" I asked.

She nodded.

"Yeah. How did they get so good?"

"Well, I saw that they weren't good at it, so I decided to help them out." I said, "While at my house, I helped them with tumbling, jumping, you name it. Of course, they didn't get good at it overnight. It took some time, but they eventually learned."

Mrs. Morgan put a hand on my shoulder.

"That's what I like about you. You are the type of person that would help their friends when they need it the most. Keep doing that, alright?" She asked.

I nodded with pride.

"I most definitely will!" I said.

I started walking away.

"Hey, Shimamura!" My teacher called.

I turned to her.

"Yes?"

"Happy Birthday."

I smiled.

"Thanks." I said.

When I walked away, I met up with my two best friends; Arlene Kirby and Tara Martinez. Arlene was a girl from Texas with green eyes and brown hair. She was a little taller than me. I mean I was tall, but not as tall as her. Tara was a Hispanic girl from Mexico with brown eyes and black hair. She was a little shorter, but not too short. All three of us met in elementary school. We met when Arlene and I stood up to some bullies who were bullying Tara because of her race. We've been besties ever since.

"So, how's the birthday girl doin'? Great I hope." Arlene said.

"I'm doing well, Arlene. It's not everyday you turn 17." I said.

"What are you gonna be doing for your birthday?" Asked Tara.

"To be honest, Tara, I don't really know. I mean for all I know, it could just be me, my parents, and Koji. Nothing special like a party or anything. I don't even know if we could afford to do a party. My mom works at a Half-Price Books, and my dad works for Amazon. Those are mostly normal jobs and I don't know how much money they make." I said, bluntly.

"Who knows. They might surprise you." Said Tara.

When school was over, we took the same bus home. My friends and I lived in a cul de sac in the suburbs, so they were pretty much my neighbors. When we got off the bus and started walking home, I noticed that Tara was whispering something to Arlene and Arlene nodded. What was she whispering? Suddenly, Arlene turned to me.

"Maddie?"

"Yeah?"

"You mind if me and Tara lead the way to your house?" She asked.

I shrugged my shoulders.

"Sure, why not?" I said

She chuckled and her and Tara began walking ahead of me. A couple of minutes later, we arrived at my house. When we got there I noticed something was off. The lights in the house weren't on. Did we forget to pay the electric bill or something? Arlene grabbed the knob and it clicked. She opened the door and her and Tara gestured for me to walk in.

"Birthday girl goes first." Arlene said.

I laughed a little at her comment.

"Okay. Thanks."

I walked in and they walked in behind me. After they shut the door, I started looking around at the darkness.

"Why is it so dark in here?" I wondered.

Then before I knew it, the lights came on and people yelled "Surprise!" I was so speechless I couldn't move. There standing there, were my parents, Koji, Arlene's parents, and Tara's parents. I looked at Koji who smiled and gave me a thumbs up. I smiled and nodded. I looked towards the table and gasped. There wasn't just a cake, but there were decorations, balloons, and there was a few presents!

I looked at mine and my friend's families with a grin. My mom came over to hug me and my dad shook my hand.

"Happy birthday, my loving daughter." Said my mom.

"Wow!" I said, "How did you manage to do this?"

"Well, when my boss and the other workers at Amazon heard it was your birthday, we all decided to pitch in and give you some presents." My dad said.

I got a sheepish look.

"Aw, dad, you'll spoil me." I said.

Everyone laughed.

"Not as spoiled as me, sis." Koji said.

"That's not exactly anything to be proud of, Koji." I thought, a little embarrassed.

Needless to say, the party went in full swing. After I blew out my candles and we each had some cake, I opened most of my presents. Which were a PlayStation 4 with a few games, a new katana, and a Harry Potter DVD box set. We all had a great time. My friends, Koji, and I took turns playing the PlayStation, everyone watched me practice on a watermelon and a few more fruit with my sword. Everyone except my parents and Koji were surprised at how quickly I cut up the fruit.

After that, I wanted to show them my fighting skills. I kicked and punched at invisible enemies for a few minutes. They were amazed.

"I'll be damned." Said Arlene's dad, "How many years of training did she have?"

"Mom and Dad taught her when she was five. They're training me too. I'm a little good at it, but I'm still learning." Said Koji.

Eventually, everyone left and we said our goodbyes. Arlene and Tara thanked me for training them and being a good friend. After everyone left, my mom told me to close my eyes.

"Why?" I asked.

"Trust us, you're going to love this next present." My dad replied.

I did what I was told and shut my eyes. I heard my mom walking away, then slowly back to me. She told me to hold out my hands and she placed something in them.

"Okay, sweetie. You can open your eyes now." She said.

I did so and looked at what I was holding in my hands. I gasped with joy. It was none other than the book of the same name of my all-time favorite movie. It was Felidae.

"Oh. My. Gosh. It's the book Felidae. How did you guys know?" I asked.

"We knew how much you loved the Felidae movie because you watched it so many times on YouTube. We tried to find it on DVD, but the only DVD of it was the German dub. And when we found out there was a book of it, we decided to try and get that for your birthday." My dad said.

"I tried looking for it at Half-Price Books, but we didn't seem to have it. I then called your father and told him about the book we were looking for and then just like your other presents, we managed to get the last copy of Felidae on Amazon. It wasn't easy, but we got it." Said my mom.

"Thank you, guys." I said.

"I don't see how it's interesting." Koji scoffed.

I turned to him.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"What I mean is cats are jerks. They do nothing but claw furniture and skin and knock things over. Not to mention, they sometimes pee and poop somewhere other than outside or their litterbox." He said.

"That's ridiculous. We have a cat named Benny and he's well behaved." I said honestly.

"Huh. That's if you're lucky. My friend Stan has a cat named Maria, and she's not so well behaved. Sometimes, she knocks down Stan's plates and cups off the table when he's not looking."

"So she must be mad about something. So what?"

"What really gets me is me and Stan don't know what she's mad about."

After we had our conversation, I went up to my room and went on to YouTube on my phone to watch the Felidae movie. I made sure to lock my door just in case Koji wanted to peak and try to see what I was watching. He always does that just to annoy me. But not this time. Anyway, It was about 10:30 when the movie ended. After that, I decided to give my birthday book a read. I read the first two chapters before I got really tired. I put a bookmark in my book and set it down on my nightstand.

I then turned out my light and got under the covers. It didn't take me long to drift off to sleep. Little did I know, my life was about to change. Forever.

Author's Note: Well, that was the first chapter of my first ever Felidae fanfic. Forgive if it's too long and uninteresting. Also, this is my first time doing first person, so please don't kill me in the reviews. I hope you enjoyed this chapter.
