The scowl on Ember's face spelt trouble for anyone who crossed her path. The reason as to why Ember was in a foul mood was simple.

Baby-Pop had returned and told her about Winona.

She wasn't angry at her Baby-Pop. No. Even if they were still enemies she could never see him as the type to go for girls like THAT. The one she was angry at was the skank who tried to worm her way into Baby-Pop's pants!

"If that skank shows her face, I'm knocking out some teeth!" growled out the fiery girl, her eyes flashing red for a brief moment.

This caused Danny to grimace. "Ember…"

"Don't!" snapped the girl, glaring at the boy. "If it were the other way around you'd kick the guy's ass for coming on to me!"

"You're right, I probably would," replied Danny with a nod. "Which is why I was going to say don't hurt her too badly if she tries anything."

"No promises," stated Ember, although she was happy that her Baby-Pop wasn't going to outright stop her.

All of this unfortunately confused the ghostling. "So wait, is this Winona person bad like all of the other people we've had to fight?"

"…Not exactly like the others, Danielle, but she might still give us trouble if we run into her," explained Danny as the three were making their way through the city to the Museumplein, otherwise known as Museum Square.

"And if she does, I'll be dealing with her myself," added Ember, a fire in her eyes.

"In the meantime," stated Danny, trying to change the subject. "We'll be heading to the Van Gogh Museum. We would have gone to the Rijksmuseum as well, but I overlooked the fact that it's been closed for a few years now for renovations."

Noticing the grimace on her Baby-Pop's face, Ember gave him a comforting pat on the arm. "It's okay, Baby-Pop. Maybe there's somewhere else we could go after."

"…Or maybe beforehand? While we're still in the central part of the city there's a place we could go to before the Van Gogh Museum."

"Lead the way, Baby-Pop."

-:-

Danielle was confused as to why Danny brought them here. The only thing here to see was a bunch of statues of guys in weird looking clothes. While the little one tried to figure out what these statues were, Ember turned to Danny.

"So why did we come here, Baby-Pop?"

"Well I was hoping to show Danielle Rembrandt's most famous painting The Night Watch, but it's at the Rijksmuseum. I figured bringing her to Rembrandtplein was the next best thing," explained the older Halfa.

That was when the ghostling spoke up. "Danny! What's with the statues?"

"These, Danielle, are a bronze-cast representation of The Night Watch, a painting by Rembrandt," replied Danny, pointing at the statue of the artist just behind the smaller sculptures. "Rembrandt is considered one of the greatest painters in history."

"Like that Leo guy you and Ember mentioned in Paris?"

"That's right," answered the older Halfa as he ruffled his little clone's hair.

"But why did they decide to make statues based on Rembrandt's painting in the first place?" asked Ember, turning back to Danny.

"These were made last year for what would have been Rembrandt's four hundredth birthday. Pretty good way to celebrate someone of his status, don't you think?" said Danny with a slight grin.

"Well he's definitely earned it," replied the rock diva with a smirk.

Danielle then tugged on Danny's shirt to get his attention. "Danny, didn't you mention someone named Van Gogh earlier? Is he another painter?"

"Yes he is, Danielle, and we can head over to his museum now if you want."

Wanting to see what this Van Gogh had to offer, the ghostling declared that it was time to go to the museum, much to the teens' amusement.

They say that art can make one feel many emotions just by looking at it. For example, Danielle was filled with curiosity and slight awe as she looked at the various works of Vincent van Gogh. Ember on the other hand felt a slight sadness as she looked at the paintings and she wasn't sure why.

"Is something wrong, Ember?" asked Danny, a concerned look on his face when he noticed the slight distress coming off the fiery girl.

"I…I don't know. It's like I felt this feeling of sadness all of a sudden," explained Ember with a frown. "But why? Why would a painting of sunflowers make someone sad?"

Danny went into thought, trying to come up with a possible idea. "Well if I had to guess, maybe it's because these are Van Gogh's works."

"…That really doesn't answer anything, Baby-Pop."

"Let me put it this way. When you write and sing your songs, you put your heart and soul into it, right?"

The rock diva nodded at this. "Of course I do."

"Well painters are no different. They'll put their heart and soul into their work and you can usually feel it when you look at it," explained the raven-haired boy.

"But why this feeling?" asked Ember, holding onto her arms as if she was cold.

Danny could only sigh at this. "Unfortunately, Van Gogh was not well mentally when he was alive. That was part of the reason why he cut off his own ear. He also suffered from severe depression and poverty, which eventually led him to…well, you can probably guess what he did."

"Oh god," replied Ember, feeling sick.

"Yeah. Worst part is that it wasn't until after Van Gogh died that he became a successful artist and his talents were recognized."

Ember turned back to the painting with a frown. "Maybe you're onto something, Baby-Pop. About Van Gogh's works having a piece of his soul in them."

It was Danny's turn to frown when he noticed Ember starting to shake. "Ember?"

"You know, there have been times where I'd wonder what would happen if I never died. Would I have been able to succeed as a rock star or would I have failed like everyone else thought I would?" questioned Ember, tears trailing down her face, messing up her eye makeup.

Danny's frown became more pronounced. He knew Ember had insecurities, but he thought she was getting better at dealing with them. It seems that wasn't case. Stepping forward, he turned her to face him and then used his thumbs wipe away her tears, much to her surprise.

"Hey, remember what I told you all the way back in New York? How you're really talented? I meant that, Ember," stated Danny, looking her right in the eyes. "I know for a fact that even if you had lived you would have proved everyone wrong and become one of the best rock stars the music world would ever know. Just like you are now."

A blush joined the tears as Ember felt her core get warmer due to her Baby-Pop's words. Despite how she just felt like moments ago, she let out a watery giggle. "You really know what to say to make me feel better about myself, don't you, Baby-Pop?"

"I care about you, Ember, and I don't like seeing you sad like this."

Well if that didn't earn him a kiss, she didn't know what would. While the teens kissed, Danielle was off the side trying to ignore the scene. She overheard what Danny and Ember was talking about and even she knew it wouldn't have been a good idea to interrupt.

After their moment, Danny thought it would be best if they head out, but Ember convinced him otherwise.

"We're already here, so we might as well see more of what Van Gogh has to offer," she had said.

Doing just that, the trio took the time to appreciate the talent of Vincent van Gogh.

-:-

After visiting the Van Gogh Museum, the trio decided to head off to see what Ember considered the most iconic landmark of the city.

"I think you'll like it, Mini-Pop. Windmills are just like giant pin wheels," stated Ember as they were making their way through the city to visit the Gooyer.

While Danny rolled his eyes at the comparison, Danielle just looked confused before she turned to the older Halfa.

"What does a windmill even do?" she asked.

"It depends on what they were built for, Danielle," started Danny. "Some were built to drain water, which are probably the most common ones you'll find in the Netherlands. Others, like the Gooyer, were built to grind things like grain or corn."

"Doesn't sound too exciting," replied Danielle, already starting to get bored.

Before Danny could respond to that, he felt some collide with and almost knock him to the ground. Turning to see what was now clamped onto his arm, his surprise turned into a grimace.

"Hey there, stud," greeted the wind elemental from earlier, giving him a flirty look.

"Winona…" replied Danny in a deadpan tone, trying to dislodge her from his arm.

"What the hell do you think you're doing, skank?!" demanded Ember, her eyes flashing red as she glared hatefully at the newcomer. How dare this skank throw herself at HER Baby-Pop!

Winona just looked at Ember with an unimpressed look before it turned into a taunting smirk. "Isn't it obvious? I'm here to see if this handsome gentleman here wants to come back with me and have some fun."

"Never going to happen," replied Danny, finally getting his arm free and earning a pout from Winona.

"So slag off, stay away from my man, and go back to the District where you belong!" added Ember, glaring hatefully at the bitch.

Winona just let out a scoff. "You think you're insulting me, but you're not. I know what I am and I have no problem with that. And just so you know, the stud might be your boyfriend, but he'll come to me eventually. In this city, they always do."

Blue flames flickered to orange in anger as Ember clenched both her fists and her teeth. No more holding back!

"Baby-Pop, why don't you take Mini-Pop on ahead while I have a CHAT with our "friend" here," suggested Ember in a tone that promised a LOT of pain.

Knowing exactly what was about to happen, and he wasn't going to stop it, Danny didn't argue. "Come on, Danielle."

"But wait, what's going on?" questioned the ghostling as Danny herded her away. "And what was that lady even talking about?"

"Never mind that," came the quick response as Danny hurried to get his little clone out of there. He then tossed the Fenton Thermos to Ember. "Ember, catch."

Once the Phantom Duo was gone, Ember's anger towards Winona intensified, especially since the wind elemental had a cocky smirk on her face.

"I don't know what that thing he gave you is, but sending him away won't stop me from getting into his pan-"

That was all Winona was able to get out before she received a fist right to the face, courtesy of Ember. The wind elemental was shocked, never having been hit like that before since she was ALWAYS in control when she was with clients and knew how to deal with their jealous girlfriends.

This did not bode well for her.

"Just for the record, when I said chat, I meant with my fists," stated Ember, staring down at the other girl.

Winona, knowing that she wasn't a fighter, took off to the skies, showing her true colors. This of course didn't deter Ember, who took off right after the girl. She was going to learn what happens when you try to steal what wasn't hers!

Luckily for Ember, Winona wasn't that smart. Due to her fear, she allowed Ember to steer her out of the city limits, which in turn allowed Ember to go all out without worrying about hurting innocent people or property damage.

Firing off a couple of round of pink ecto blasts, Ember, feeling sadistic, was barely missing on purpose.

"Leave me alone!" cried out Winona, sending out a windblast in hopes that it would hit.

But Ember just dodged it easily as she continued to glare at Winona.

"Like hell I will! You tried to take MY Baby-Pop just because you thought you could! I don't know what you did to escape punishment from the other girls whose boyfriends you stole, but I'm not going to let you off easy!"

Ember shot out another ecto blast, to which Winona got out of the way, but this allowed Ember to close in and give the wind elemental a right hook.

"Gah!" yelped Winona. She held her cheek in pain and glared at Ember. "Would you stop hitting me?! Fine, keep your stupid boyfriend! There's plenty of other guys desperate to get with me!"

That was the wrong thing to say as Ember summoned her guitar. "You just don't get it, do you, skank? I'm going to make sure you never take another girl's man ever again!"

Ember's ponytail flared up, allowing her to create a large fireball just above her head. Winona let out a whimper as she watched the fireball increase in size and her eyes widened when Ember whipped the fireball towards her. In desperation, Winona created the largest windblast she could muster, but there was a problem.

Much like with Danny in his previous battle with Deadbeard, Ember had the advantage here as Winona's wind was making her fire MUCH stronger.

Once Winona was engulfed in the flames, Ember flew forward as fast as she could with her guitar reeled back. Once she was in range, she cut through the flames and slammed her guitar into Winona's stomach. The force of the hit sent Winona crashing into the ground.

Going in closer to where her opponent landed, Ember found that Winona was knocked out. This allowed her to use the Thermos to suck her up without resistance.

"A skank in life, a skank in death," said Ember as she glared at the Thermos.

Knowing what was to come, Ember didn't have to wait long for the telltale light of Walker's portal. When the warden stepped through, he raised a brow when he noticed that it was just Ember.

"Where's the punk?" he questioned, giving the rock diva a narrowed look.

"Considering who I just dealt with, I had him make sure the little one was as far away as possible," explained Ember, returning the narrowed look. "Got a problem with that?"

"Watch your tone, girl," growled out Walker.

"Do you want your prisoner or not?!"

Not wanting to argue with the brat, Walker stepped aside to allow Ember to release his new prisoner into his prison. He raised a brow once more when saw the state of his new prisoner and was about to question the fiery girl, only to see said girl already walking away. Again, not wanting to deal with her, Walker decided to just head back to his prison with his new resident.

With Ember, she thought back to the fight. Was overkill? Probably, but she felt SO much better now. Now she just had to meet up with Baby-Pop and Mini-Pop to tell them that Winona will never bother them again.

-:-

That night, Ember took in the cheers of the Amsterdammers as she finished up her concert at the Royal Concertgebouw. After she thanked her fans for coming out to see her, she headed backstage where she immediately headed into her Baby-Pop's arms.

"Another great concert, Ember," said Danny as he held her close.

The fiery girl nuzzled her man, happy to be in his arms. "Thanks, Baby-Pop. For everything."

She stood on her tiptoes so she could give him a kiss, which he gladly returned.

Seeing the display of affection, Danielle pouted. While she no longer had a problem with Danny and Ember together, she still wished they wouldn't make kissy face in front of her like this. Once they were done, she spoke up.

"So where are we going next?" she asked.

"We're going to head back to the bus, Mini-Pop," replied Ember with a teasing smirk.

This only made the ghostling pout even more. "You know what I meant."

"Don't worry, Danielle. Wherever we head to next will be worth the surprise," stated Danny, ruffling Danielle's hair.

With the little one beaming in happiness, the trio took their leave of the concert hall and got on the ghostly tour, heading off to their next adventure.

AMSTERDAM END

-:-

You can pretty much guess what Winona was, but I didn't want to outright say it. Like I said previously, it was not easy coming up with a villain for the Amsterdam chapter.

Fun Fact: Eddie Van Halen, guitarist and co-founder of the band Van Halen, hated Sammy Hagar's song "Amsterdam", seeing it as an insult to his hometown.

And with this chapter, this story now has thirty chapters. Ten cities in thirty chapters; which one has been your favorite so far?
