The ghostly teens sat next to each other, eating breakfast in silence with Ember glancing at Danny ever so often before she decided to break the silence to talk about something that's been bothering her since they left Amsterdam.
"So…you sent the Goth flowers."
"Yup," replied Danny with a slight pop at the end.
"Specifically pink tulips."
"Mm-hm."
Ember then let out a sigh before turning to look him in the eye. "Okay, I'll bite. Why did you send her pink tulips? Do they have a special meaning like the ones you gave me?"
"I wouldn't really call it special," started Danny with a shrug. "Pink tulips are what you give to friends and family and since Sam is just a friend I figured I'd send her them to start letting her down easy."
"You think she'll know what they mean?"
"I would think so. I mean she's all about nature and everything related to it, so she would definitely know about the meaning of flowers," explained the boy. If only he knew. "I actually almost sent her yellow tulips, but didn't want to give her the wrong idea."
The rock diva furrowed her brow. "What do you mean?"
"Yellow tulips also mean friendship, but at one point in time it meant one-sided love. Basically if I had sent her yellow tulips it'd be like I was saying that I loved her, but knew she didn't love me back."
"In other words the Goth should be the one sending you yellow tulips," replied Ember with a smirk.
"Pretty much. Anyway, we should be reaching the next city soon, right? Where are we going exactly?"
Ember pulled out her planner to look up the next stop of her world tour, only to tense up when she noticed where they were heading. Seeing this, Danny raised an eyebrow and was about to ask if something was wrong, but Ember quickly shot him down.
"Nowhere! We're going nowhere!" exclaimed the fiery girl, her voice an octave higher due to the clear nervousness she was exuding.
Now Danny knew for sure that something was wrong. "Ember, calm down! Wherever we're going can't be as bad as you're making it out to be."
"…Promise you won't get mad?" she asked in a small voice, as if she was afraid.
The Halfa Hero was really starting to get worried now.
-:-
Danny was pissed. Well, not so much pissed but furiously disappointed. The ghostly tour bus arrived at the next city and Danny wished they were anywhere else right now. Worst part was that he couldn't take his frustrations out on anyone.
"Baby-Pop, please! I'm sorry! I forgot that we would be coming here!" pleaded Ember, her arms around the boy and her eyes filled with fear. She couldn't handle the thought of Baby-Pop hating her like when they were enemies.
The boy let out a sigh, as he wrapped an arm around Ember's waist and held her close. He didn't like that look in her eyes and it hurt knowing that he caused it. "Ember, I'm not mad at you. I have no right to be mad at you since you planned all of this out long before me and Danielle joined you on this trip. I just wish I had more time to prepare."
"I'm sorry," mumbled out the girl, hiding her face in his shoulder.
He moved his hand up to run it through her warm hair in the hope that it would comfort her.
"I don't really see what the big deal is," stated Danielle as she took in their surroundings. "Besides, this place can't be all bad. It even has a funny name. Bangkok."
Danny could feel his eye twitch. "Danielle, do you even know why that would be funny?"
"…Because it sounds like the sound a chicken makes?" replied the ghostling in innocent confusion. What other reason could it be?
The teens felt relief that Danielle was still ignorant to some things. But yes, the group was currently in Bangkok, Thailand and that meant Danny had every right to be worried with a ghostling under his watch.
Of course Danny wasn't about to tell Danielle about what the city was mostly known for. There was no way he was going down THAT road. Instead he was going to tell her about the other thing to watch out for.
"Danielle, I want you to listen to me VERY carefully," said Danny, continuing once he had her attention. "I want you to stay where me or Ember can see you at all times while we're here. Do NOT wander off under any circumstance."
"How come?" challenged the child, already looking defiant.
"Because unfortunately there are people in this city that love to take advantage of tourists with scams and I don't need them targeting you. Understood?"
"Does this mean I won't get a plushy?" asked Danielle, worry and fear in her eyes.
"…I'm sure there are some honest shop keeps here, Danielle," replied Danny in a deadpan tone, earning a beaming smile from the child. He then turned to the fiery girl still in his arms. "Ember, you okay now?"
The rock diva took a deep breath before lifting her head to look her Baby-Pop in the eye. "Yeah…Yeah I think I'm good now."
"I'm glad," said the raven-haired boy as he gave his girlfriend a quick kiss.
Blushing slightly, Ember felt giddy from the affection. As much as she would like more though, they needed to focus.
"Okay, so now that the crisis has been adverted, where are we going while we're here, Baby-Pop?"
Pulling out his phone, Danny looked up a list of landmarks found here in Bangkok. "Let's see, there's the Wat Arun, the Wat Pho, the Democracy Monument, and the Grand Palace."
"Anywhere else, Baby-Pop?" asked Ember with a cheeky smirk.
Danny returned the smirk. "Well knowing you, there's also the Siam Paragon, a large shopping mall that also houses the Royal Paragon Hall, which I'm guessing is where you'll hold your concert."
'He really does know me!' thought Ember, her smirk becoming a grin as she hugged the boy.
Upon hearing they would be going to a shopping mall, Danielle let out a groan. "I don't want to go shopping!"
The teens rolled their eyes, with Danny knowing how to handle this. "Well the mall is probably the best place to get your plushy, Danielle. Not only that but it has a really big aquarium called Siam Ocean World, but if you don't want to go…"
This had the desired effect as the ghostling bristled in fear and gave the older Halfa a pleading look while grabbing onto the hem on his shirt.
"I want to go! I want to go!"
Danny pretended to give it some thought as pleading ghostling noises filled the air. Eventually he patted her on the head to calm him down.
"Of course we're going, Danielle. But it'll be much later on since they're near Ember's venue, so be patient, okay?"
The child nodded, earning another pat on the head.
"Then let's head out and see the sight!"
At that moment a man drove up in a tuk-tuk to the ghostly trio.
"Need a lift anywhere?" asked the driver with a smile.
Danny and Ember glanced at each other. Well wasn't this convenient. So convenient in fact that they could laugh at how obvious it was.
"Can you take us to the Grand Palace?" asked Danny, playing along.
"I wish I could, but it's closed today for the Day of Tralala," replied the tuk-tuk driver.
A blank look appeared on Danny's face while Ember just facepalmed. This guy wasn't even trying to hide the fact that he was a scam artist. It was time to put an end to this.
The sound of groaning metal could be heard, confusing the tuk-tuk driver, who was then filled with fear as he was suddenly looking into glowing green eyes.
"Word of advice," started Danny as he glared at the man. "When you're going to try and scam someone, don't. Got it?"
"Y-Yes, sir!" stuttered out the tuk-tuk driver.
"Glad that we've come to an understanding."
Danny released his hold on the tuk-tuk's roof, leaving indentations. With Danny no longer holding onto the tuk-tuk, the driver quickly took off and planned to reassess his life.
"Not bad, Baby-Pop," said Ember as she watched on in amusement.
"Danny, can you teach me that?!" asked Danielle, bouncing slightly in excitement.
"Maybe when you're older," replied Danny as he ruffled her hair, earning a pout from the ghostling. "Right now, we have a city to explore."
The ghostly trio then headed off to the first landmark.
-:-
"So what exactly is this monument for, Baby-Pop?"
"It commemorates the Siamese Revolution of 1932 that ended the absolute monarchy of the country and introduced democracy, becoming a constitutional monarchy."
Ember looked back at the monument, its four wing-like columns surrounding a small building in the center. "You know, I'm reminded of when you beat Pariah Dark and sealed him away. If he had stayed unsealed, the Ghost Zone would have gone back to shit."
"I thought he was first sealed long before you became a ghost," said Danny, turning to the girl.
"He was, but that doesn't mean I didn't hear the stories of how he ruled," replied Ember with a frown. "While the Ghost Zone is currently way better with Pariah Dark gone, it's still kinda shit without a real leader to run it."
"Don't remind me," muttered out the Halfa with a grimace. He glanced over at Danielle, who was busying looking at the fountains at the base of the wing columns, before continuing. "Apparently since I was the one who beat Pariah Dark, the Observants think it's a good idea to make me the next Ghost King."
The rock diva could only stare at her boyfriend with wide eyes. He's in the running to be the next Ghost King?!
"Why am I just hearing about this now?!" she hissed out, giving him a narrowed look.
Danny just gave off a shrug. "Didn't think it was important."
"Not important? Baby-Pop! Do you have any idea how badly the Ghost Zone needs a leader? Not only that, but you'd be perfect for it! Wait…holy shit that would technically make me the Ghost Queen!" stated Ember, her eyes widening again towards the end.
This only made Danny roll his eyes. "First off, I don't want to be king. I don't like the idea of ruling over others. Second, and most importantly, I refuse to give the Observants what they want, which is a way to control me."
Ecto green eyes narrowed once more, the idea of someone trying to control her Baby-Pop setting her on edge. "Explain."
"The Observants don't think very highly of me and haven't ever since the Dark Future was a thing, despite all of the good I've done since then. Them wanting me as the Ghost King is their way to keep me on a leash and I refuse to let that happen. Luckily Clockwork's in my corner since he doesn't like the Observants either."
Blue flames flickered to orange as Ember's anger rose. How dare those floating eyeballs throw their weight around like they're something special! Everyone in the Ghost Zone knew they were nothing but a bunch of pompous windbags and that's why no one has any respect for them. Even the Box Ghost isn't afraid of them!
"When we get back home I'm going to smash their irises in with my guitar!"
"As entertaining as that sounds, let Clockwork continue playing puppet master with them," replied Danny with a smirk. "They tend to give him orders, but he in turn twists said orders into something that benefits everyone and they usually don't find out until it's way too late for them to prevent it."
Ember let out a laugh. "I'm starting to like the Old Timer more and more."
With all of that out of the way they spent a few more minutes taking in the monument before they collected Danielle and headed off to the next landmark.

Meanwhile, in an undisclosed location…
"What do you mean he had glowing eyes?" asked a man, glaring at another man.
"It is as I said! The boy had glowing green eyes! He even knew I was trying to scam him and threatened me!" exclaimed what turned out to be the tuk-tuk driver who met Danny and the girls.
The other man grimaced before turning and entering the nearby temple with the driver following after. "We cannot allow an outsider ruin what we have going on."
"What will we do then?" asked the driver.
"It is simple," said the man, turning to his companion. "It seems that this outsider has some otherworldly power if his eyes glow like you say. So we will use the same power against him."
The driver was confused as he watched the man draw something on the floor. When the man was finished, the driver saw that it was a summoning circle to call forth spirits. The man then started to chant, causing the circle to start glowing, much to the driver's shock. His shock grew when rising from the circle was a feminine figure, it's long black hair tied in a high ponytail. The figure was also wearing a typical Thai dress, consisting of a sabai and panung. When the spirit locked eyes with the two men, it spoke.
"I am Nakkha. Why have you summoned me?" the figure asked in a soft voice, although its eyes had a hard edge to them, promising pain to anyone who gets on its bad side.
The man who summoned the spirit stepped forward. "There is an outsider, an American boy. He is trying to ruin our way of life and we want him eliminated."
Nakkha let out a slight chuckle. "Is that right? Then you chose wisely when you summoned me."
Licking their lips, Nakkha filled the temple with malice, causing the two men to shake in fear and wonder if this was a good idea. It didn't help that Nakkha's eyes were now filled with pleasure at the thought of killing.
"I never miss a target."

Yup, we're in Bangkok, people. And of course, Danny is being overprotective, as he'd rather have Danielle as far away from this place as possible. At least he's not angry at Ember since he knows it's not really her fault.
