Danielle looked up at the structure with a suspicious look before turning to Danny.
"Why do so many of the places we visit have gates?"
This only made Danny ruffle her hair in amusement. "What, you think certain structures are limited to only one city?"
"It's just weird."
"It's not that weird. Besides, the Arch of Hadrian here is much older than the other gates and arches we've seen so far. In fact, of the cities we've visited, Athens is the oldest."
"Wait, really?" wondered the ghostling, looking around. "It doesn't look old."
"Trust us, Mini-Pop. This city is ancient compared to other places we've seen," said Ember with a smirk.
Danielle turned back to the arch, looking it up and down, before she noticed something just above opening. "There's some writing up there."
"Good eye, Danielle. That's an inscription telling people which side of the city you're in," explained the older Halfa. "On the northwest side of the arch it says, "This is Athens, the ancient city of Theseus", while the southeast side says, "This is the city of Hadrian, and not of Theseus"."
"…So we're not in Athens?"
"We're still in Athens, Mini-Pop, it's just that back in ancient times the city was divided into two," said Ember.
"Right. The city was founded by Theseus and Hadrian and despite the name of the arch, it was built to honor both as the founders," added Danny.
"This is all really confusing…and it's making me hungry."
The teens rolled their eyes at the little one's appetite. Then again, they supposed it was time to go get lunch.
"Tell you what, Danielle. We'll go get some gyros and then we'll head over to the Acropolis over there," said Danny, pointing to the large hill in the distance.
"Yee-rows? What are those?"
"You'll like them, Mini-Pop. Think of them as Mediterranean tacos," replied the rock diva with a grin.
The three then set off to find a nice restaurant for lunch, with Danielle excited to try something new.

Meanwhile at the Acropolis, near the Erechtheion, a lone rooster was walking about. If anyone had seen it, they would find it weird that a rooster was just roaming the Acropolis, but they would be really weirded out over the fact that the rooster was green in color.
The bird entered the old temple and strutted about. Eventually, a disembodied voice spoke up and caught the creature's attention. Turning to where the voice was coming from, the rooster was met with a pair of glowing, pure red eyes.
"Ah, I see that you are back, Alectryon. Did you finish with your task or have you failed me once again?"
"Bawk, bawk, bawk!"
"Don't take that tone with me, wretch!" growled out the voice, the eyes narrowing. "Remember, I'm the one in charge! Now, did you finish your task?!"
"Bawk, bawk…"
"Good. Soon I will be free from this infernal prison and then, I'll get my revenge on those who have wronged me."
The voice then broke into a dark laughing fit, causing the rooster to just roll its eyes.

Back with the ghostly trio, after they had a nice lunch of gyros that the ghostling did indeed enjoy, they were making their way up the Acropolis to check out the ruins that Athens was known for.
"So why re we visiting these ruins again?" asked Danielle.
"Aside from being something worth seeing, they're very important to the archaeological world, Danielle," explained Danny.
"I have no idea what that means."
"Basically, Mini-Pop, it's a place people can dig and learn about ancient civilizations."
"Oh."
They soon made it to the Propylaia, the gateway into the Acropolis, where Danny flashed the tickets and were allowed entrance. Upon entering the Acropolis, Danielle's eyes widened when she saw the various ancient ruins.
"Looks like Mini-Pop's impressed," said Ember with a giggle.
"Good. It'll make explaining things easier since she's interested," replied Danny with a slight grin.
Heading to the south side of the Acropolis, the first sight they went to was the Theatre of Dionysus.
"Doesn't look much like the theatre," said Danielle, looking at the barren stage.
"This is what theatres looked like back then, Danielle," explained Danny. "Granted, back then it looked a lot nicer, but the plays that the Greeks put on still took place outside."
"Were the plays fun? You said this Dinoy guy liked to party."
A giggle came from Ember as she explained it to the little one. "I'm sure Dionysus himself put on some really great shows, but I'm pretty sure most of the plays the Greeks did were a bit more serious."
"Ember's right. The Greeks were more known for the tragedies than anything else when it came to genres," added Danny.
"Then why name this place after the party guy?" asked the ghostling, highly confused.
"Just how things were back then, Danielle," replied the older Halfa as he ruffled her hair.
"And while we're on the subject of stages," started Ember, gaining the two Phantoms' attention. "Feast your eyes down that way, Mini-Pop!"
Looking to where the fiery girl was pointing, Danielle's eyes widened when she saw the much larger stage further southwest from where they were. "Whoa…"
"Whoa indeed, Mini-Pop. That's the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, also known as the Herodion, and it's where I'm playing my concert for the Athens Festival!"
Excitement was rolling off of the girls, both of them looking forward to the festival for different reasons.
After a few more moments admiring the Herodion, the trio made their way further southwest to where the Temple of Athena Nike stood.
"Athena was that warrior lady we saw at the museum, right?" asked Danielle as they stood before the temple. "Is Nike her last name?"
"Not at all, Danielle," replied Danny with a grin as Ember tried not to laugh. "Nike was another goddess. Remember when we saw those statues of Victoria in Berlin? Nike would be her Greek counterpart."
Danielle was slightly confused by this. "I remember you saying that this Victoria lady was the goddess of victory. Does that mean this Nike lady was the reason Athena always won her fights?"
"Not exactly. Athena won her fights on her own, while Nike was more of a servant to Athena," explained Danny. "Despite that though, Nike would eventually branch off on her own and develop her own personality outside of Athena's influence."
"Why is this Greek stuff so confusing?" asked Danielle, rubbing her head.
"Trust me, Mini-Pop. There are way more confusing mythologies out there."
With the south side of the Acropolis explored, the small group decided to head north for their next stop.
The Erechtheion, a former temple of Athena, stood in all of its glory. Not only is it unique compared to other Ancient Greek structures, due to its asymmetrical design, but because of its most notable feature.
"Those are some big ladies," said Danielle, as she stared wide-eyed at the large statues that acted like columns.
"Those are the Caryatids. They make up what is known as the Porch of Maidens and are used instead of normal columns to make the temple look nicer," explained Danny. "Believe it or not, but these are actually replicas."
"If these are replicas, where are the real ones?" asked Ember, turning to Danny.
"At the Acropolis Museum. They were originally removed to protect them from pollution," replied the boy. He then looked disappointed. "I wish we could go see them, but the museum isn't open to the public."
"Eh, who cares if these are fakes. This place is still pretty cool. Look, they even have chickens around here," stated Danielle, pointing towards the temple.
"Wait, what?"
The teens looked over and saw the obviously green rooster that Danielle had spotted. The bird was making its way over to the Porch of Maidens and was, for whatever reason, carrying an old looking key.
"Please tell me green roosters are common in Greece and that they like shiny things," pleaded Ember, really hoping that their vacation wouldn't be ruined.
"When have we ever been that lucky," replied Danny in a deadpan tone as his Ghost Sense went off.
He quickly transformed and went after the rooster, which by now has hopped into the temple. Following inside, Danny found the rooster in the middle of the room where a ghostly looking lock materialized.
"Look, buddy, I don't know what you're doing, but I suggest you come with me quietly or we'll have to do this hard way," declared Danny, looking at the rooster with a narrowed look. But the rooster just gave him a confused look before he placed the key into the lock, much to Danny's chagrin. "…Why did I think that would work?"
A surge of ecto energy came from the lock, blowing Danny out of the temple where he then landed near the girls. The surge also caused the civilians and other tourists to run away in fear.
"Baby-Pop!" cried out Ember in worry as she and Danielle quickly went to check on him. "What happened?!"
"Nothing good," replied Danny with a grimace as he stood up and went on guard.
A dark chuckle came from the temple as a tall, muscular ghost wearing heavy Greek armor materialized before the three. He had blue skin, pure red eyes, and flaming orange hair that reached his shoulder.
"Free at last," said the ghost with a sadistic grin. He then turned back to look at his former prison, only to frown when he noticed something. "Wait, these Caryatids are fake! You mean I could have escaped this whole time?!"
Danny and Ember glanced at each other before looking back at the new ghost.
"Any idea who this guy is, Baby-Pop?" asked Ember, quietly so the ghost couldn't hear them.
"No, but something tells me that he WILL be dangerous," replied Danny before floating over to confront the man before he did anything to cause harm. "Who are you?"
The man turned around, surprised that an insect would speak to him. With a smirk, he spoke. "You have guts, mortal, but it will do you no good for I am Ares! The God of War!"
Dread washed over both Danny and Ember upon hearing that. Were they seriously in the presence of the god from the myths?
"Why are you here?" demanded Danny, getting ready for a fight. He didn't care if this was a god or not, he wasn't going to let him hurt anyone.
Ares let out another chuckle. "Do you seriously believe you can fight me, mortal? I am the God of War! My power is unmatched!"
The god then fired off a red ecto blast at Danny, which the young hero quickly fired off his own ecto blast to intercept. Unfortunately, Ares' ecto blast was much stronger and overwhelmed Danny's, causing Danny to have to cross his arms over his face to shield himself from the blast. Despite that, the explosion from the contact sent Danny flying back.
"Danny!" cried out Danielle. She was about to charge towards Ares, but was held back by Ember.
"No, Mini-Pop! This guy is even worse than Jack the Ripper," explained the rock diva, not taking her eyes off of the mad god. "We need to grab Baby-Pop and get out of here to think of a plan."
But this just made Ares laugh. "Heh, you think I would allow you to escape and strategize like that wretch Athena?! Foolish!"
The war god then appeared before the girls, sword in hand ready to slice them in half. Frozen in fear, the girls couldn't move as they watched Ares rear his blade back to behead them…
…Or he would have had Danny not flew in and clocked him in the jaw with an ecto charged punch.
"Don't you touch them!" yelled Danny, glaring at the god he knocked to the ground.
A growl escaped from Ares as he pushed himself off the ground. He rubbed his jaw, actually shocked that it hurt. Glaring at Danny, Ares knew he would make him pay for this insolence.
"Alectryon! Make yourself useful and deal with the mortal women. I'll deal with this one personally," stated Ares, his glare promising non-existence.
At his master's call, the ghost rooster came out from the temple to confront Ember and Danielle while Ares went after his own opponent.
"Ba-bawk!"
Seeing the rooster, Ember scowled. She didn't have time for this! They needed to get out of there and come up with a plan to deal with Ares before Baby-Pop got himself killed! Just as she raised her guitar to smack the bird away, though, Mini-Pop took matters into her own hands…literally.
"I demand that we get to keep the chicken!" exclaimed the ghostling, holding the now confused rooster above her head like a trophy.
It took a few moments for Ember's brain to catch up to what was happening. "And why in the world would you want to keep the bird, Mini-Pop?"
"Because you and Danny won't let me have a monkey," she replied with a pouty glare. "Danny gets to have a dog, I want a pet, too!"
Ember could only pinch the bridge of her nose in frustration. "We'll talk about this later, Mini-Pop. Right now, we have bigger things to deal with."
"Like kicking this guy's butt!"
"I would rather we have a plan first, but it looks like we won't have that choice," said Ember with a frown. Seeing her Baby-Pop fight the mad god though, she became determined to help him. "Just make sure that you do as I say, Mini-Pop. Ares is someone you don't want to take lightly."
The two girls then flew off to meet up with Danny and provide backup. As they got closer though, they were suddenly surrounded by blades that came out of the ground, acting like a cage to keep them in place.
"Accursed bird," growled Ares, glaring at Alectryon. "You couldn't even handle two women?! I should destroy you along with them!"
Thanks to Ares being distracted, this allowed Danny to blast Ares into the ground with a strong ecto blast.
"No wonder Athena always won. She didn't lose focus so easily like you do," taunted Danny with a smirk.
A low growl came from Ares as he stood up. His eyes glowed with hatred as he glared at Danny. "You dare mock me by bringing Athena into this?! I will show you why I am the REAL God of War!"
Danny was then put of the defensive as Ares started his onslaught. Unfortunately for the young hero, Ares was relentless and Danny couldn't find an opening. Ares then threw a fast punch that Danny wasn't able to dodge or defend with.
"Gah!" cried out Danny as he was sent flying back and crashing into the ground.
"Baby-Pop!" cried out Ember. She then whipped out her guitar and started to bash it on her current prison in the hope of breaking out. "Stupid swords! Let me out!"
A laugh came from Ares as he looked over her way with a cocky grin. "Patience, woman. You'll be out soon enough so I can end you, but first I will finish with this other mortal."
"Leave him alone!" demanded the rock diva, glaring hatefully at Ares.
But the god ignored her as he stalked his way to where Danny was. The Halfa was currently struggling to stand up, that punch he took was a lot stronger than he expected it would be.
'Guess he's a god for a reason,' thought Danny as he was now on one knee, trying to catch his breath through the pain.
"You flew to close to the sun, mortal," stated Ares with a charged ecto blast aimed right at Danny's head. "It reminds me of another mortal who thought he could fly. Don't worry, though. Your death will be painless, unlike his."
Danny could only glare at the smug look on Ares' face. It reminded him too much of Plasmius and as much as he wanted to slap that look off of Ares, he couldn't do anything right now.
He was really going to die here.
Gritting his teeth in frustration, Danny continued to glare defiantly at the god. If he was going to go down, he wasn't going to give Ares the satisfaction of an easy victory. Just as Ares was about to blast him, though, a miracle happened when the god was suddenly punched in the face, knocking him back.
"Grah!" cried out Ares, grabbing his face as he stumbled backwards. He cast a glare towards the one who hit him, only for his eyes to widen upon seeing who it was. "You!"
Seeing who just saved him, Danny's own eyes widened in surprise. "Pandora?! H-How…What are you doing here?!"
"I sensed a great evil and came to stop it," explained Pandora, her narrowed gaze on Ares. She then glanced down towards Danny. "Why are you here, Daniel? This isn't your responsibility and you shouldn't have to battle a monster like Ares."
"Honestly?" asked Danny as he stood up. "I was already here on vacation when this guy's pet rooster freed him."
Pandora grimaced at this. "Of course, that wretched fowl would aide its master. No matter. Go and release your friends while I deal with Ares myself."
With that said, Pandora immediately started battle with Ares. Not wanting to get caught in the crossfire, Danny quickly went over to where Ember and Danielle were to try and free them.
"You know Pandora, too?!" hissed out Ember as she glared at Danny.
"Now's not a good time, Ember!" replied Danny, thinking of how to break these swords.
"You're right, it's not, but we will talk about this Baby-Pop!" said the rock diva, crossing her arms over her chest. "Now how are you getting us out of here?"
Still looking at the swords, an idea came to Danny. "Ember, heat up this sword as much as you can and then stand back."
Although confused by the request, Ember did as she was told and blasted the blade with her fire until it turned red hot. Once it was hot enough, Ember grabbed Danielle and stood as far back as possible to let Danny do what he needed to do.
With his eyes turning blue, Danny shot an icy blast at the red-hot metal and much to the girls' surprise, it shattered.
"What the hell? What did you do?" asked Ember as she and Danielle exited the makeshift cage.
"Thermal stress. Basically, when metal is heated up and then rapidly cooled down it shatters," explained Danny. "Now you two get somewhere safe. I'm going to go backup Pandora."
"What?! Are you insane?!" exclaimed Ember in shock. "Wait, never mind, don't answer that. But why the hell are you going to go back and fight Ares of all people?!"
"This fight started with me, so I'm going to finish it."
"And just how are you going to do that, Baby-Pop?"
"I'm…still trying to think of that," replied Danny, causing Ember to grimace.
"If this Ares guy really is from those myth story thingies, why not beat Ares the same way he was beaten in those?" came the innocent question from the ghostling.
Danny blinked in confusion before a devious grin appeared on his face. "Danielle, you just earned yourself a gold star."
"I'd rather have the chicken," said Danielle as she presented the bird.
"Not right now, Danielle," countered Danny, causing the little one to pout. "Right now, I have a god to knock down a peg or two."
"I don't like this, but just be careful and come back safely, Baby-Pop," pleaded Ember, a look of fear and worry on her face.
Danny replied by giving her a quick kiss to the lips, giving her a smirk when he finished. "Of course I'll come back, Ember. I have you to come back to."
He then flew off, leaving behind a heavily blushing rock diva.
Back with Pandora and Ares, the two gods clashed in fierce combat, but were found to be evenly matched.
"What's the matter, dear Pandora? It seems you've gone soft," taunted Ares with a grin as he used his shield to block Pandora's spear.
"Silence, Ares! I will not allow you to walk this earth once more!" declared the ancient woman as she used her own shield to block Ares' sword.
"I didn't take you for a comedian, Pandora," replied Ares with a laugh, testing Pandora's temper. "To think that you can seal me away again? Hilarious!"
A growl escaped Pandora, but she kept her cool. It would not do her well to let her anger get the best of her. Instead, she would focus her anger into her strikes and push Ares back towards the Erechtheion.
"Victory will never be yours, Ares!"
But Ares merely laughed as he pushed Pandora back and pointed his sword at her.
"Victory is always mine, Pandora!" exclaimed the mad god, taking a step forward to finish her off. At least, that was the plan had he not stepped on a patch of ice that suddenly appeared, causing him to lose his balance. "Wh-What? Wh-Whoa! Gah!"
Ares laid flat on his back, both he and Pandora confused as to what just happened.
"How's the weather down there, Ares? Too cold for you?" called out Danny, floating up above with his eyes an icy blue and a cold aura emanating from his hands.
The war god growled in anger at the interference while Pandora stared at Danny with wide eyes before her gaze narrowed in reprimand.
"Daniel! Why are you still here?! I told you to stay away!" stated Pandora, hoping that the boy would get somewhere safe.
"Let me put it this way, Pandora. If our roles were reversed and you were the one to start the fight with Ares, would you want me to tell you to leave for your own safety?"
This only made Pandora grimace. She admired the boy's warrior spirit, but Ares was not an opponent she wanted him to face.
"Accursed child," growled out Ares as he stood up and glared at Danny. "You still think you can win against me?"
"That depends. Is that sword of yours really good or did Hephaestus give you a dud on purpose?" asked Danny with a smirk.
"Don't you dare mention that fool's name in my presence!" yelled Ares, his fiery hair flaring up.
"Okay then. Let's talk about Aphrodite instead!"
Ares let out a roar of anger as he charged towards the insolent mortal that dared speak his lover's name. He would put this brat in his place!
Or he would have had he not slammed into a solid object.
Pandora looked on in shock as she watched Ares collide with something that was clearly not Daniel. Upon a closer look, it looked like…a reflection?
"An interesting tactic to use your ice powers to make a mirror, Daniel," stated Pandora, glancing at the boy when she felt him appear next to her. "Although I hope you do not think it will work on Ares again."
"Didn't really plan for it to work again," replied Danny. "He's not stupid. Just arrogant with a fragile ego, which is what we can use to our advantage."
A growl caught their attention, putting them on guard. Ares peeled himself off of the ice mirror and shook off the cobwebs before he turned to Danny with a snarl.
"You're starting to annoy me, mortal. I will destroy you for your insolence and with you gone, nothing will stop me from conquering this city!" exclaimed the war god. "Not even Pandora or Athena will be able to stop me!"
But this only earned him a blank look from Danny. "If you really believe that, I've got a large, wooden horse I can sell you."
"Wretched mortal!" shouted Ares as he once again charged towards Danny.
In his anger though, Ares forgot that this fight was now two against one.
Pandora was able to blindside Ares by smashing the edge of her shield into the side of his head, putting him into a daze. This allowed Danny to freeze the war god's feet to the ground and then deliver an icy punch to his jaw. Breaking out of his icy footholds, Ares tried to fight back, but Pandora swatted him away with her spear and Danny slammed him into the ground with a powerful ecto blast. Danny then used this brief opportunity to pull out the Fenton Thermos.
'I hope this works. This guy could probably give Dan a run for his money,' thought Danny as he took aim and fired off the Thermos' tractor beam, hitting Ares just as the war god started getting up.
"What the?" questioned Ares as he felt a pull. He tried to resist, but the pull was too strong and he soon saw what was happening. "What?! No! I refuse to be imprisoned again!"
"What, did you prefer being captured in a net? Sorry, but the Thermos will have to do," replied Danny as he watched Ares get sucked up.
"Curse you, mortal! Curse you!" exclaimed Ares as he was finally defeated.
Once Ares was in the Thermos, Danny quickly capped it and sighed in relief. Relief turned into confusion when Pandora plucked the Thermos from his grasp.
"So this is the infamous Thermos I have heard about," stated Pandora as she examined the device. "The perfect prison for the likes of Ares."
"Yeah, well, I'm just glad you were here to help. I don't think I could have beaten Ares on my own," said Danny. "Thanks, Pandora."
A slight smile appeared on Pandora's face. "You are quite welcome, Daniel."
With the threat of Ares gone, Danny could finally get back to Ember and Danielle to check if they were okay. Instead though, he was almost knocked to the ground when his rockstar girlfriend collided into him and started peppering his face with kisses.
"Baby-Pop! You're okay! I was so scared that you'd be hurt," said Ember as she hugged him tightly.
With a face covered in purple lipstick, Danny let out a small laugh as he hugged her back. "I said I would come back to you, didn't I? I wasn't going to break that promise, Ember."
As Danny continued to comfort Ember, Pandora watched on with a fond smile. She didn't know that Daniel had found a significant other, let alone the Ghost Zone's resident musician that she had heard about, but she was happy for him nonetheless.
"Wow, you're really tall!" exclaimed Danielle, catching Pandora's attention. "I bet you're really strong, too! Wait, are you related to Ember since you both have fire hair?"
The ancient ghost looked at the child with a blank look, taking in the fact that she looked like a younger version of Daniel. Pandora then turned to the boy and his significant other with a narrowed look.
"Daniel! Explain. Now."
"…I'd rather not, since I know exactly what your reaction will be. If you want answers, ask Clockwork and he can show you, because the Ghost Zone has a better chance of surviving afterwards than the Living Realm could," replied Danny, avoiding eye contact while Ember blushed slightly at the implication Pandora made.
Pandora frowned at this. Clockwork was involved? This was more serious than she thought if that was the case. "Very well, Daniel. But be assured that I will be talking with Clockwork."
Ember wasn't sure if this moment will be better or worse than her eventually meeting with Mrs. Fenton.
"So how strong are you exactly anyway?" asked Danielle, regaining Pandora's attention.
"Very, little one, and I will be happy to tell you of all of my exploits," replied Pandora as she picked up the ghostling and held her to her hip. It was then that Pandora's stomach growled, causing her to blush slightly. "As we go get something to eat. The battle with Ares took a lot out of me."
"Ooh! We can go get gyros! I had some earlier and they were really tasty!" beamed Danielle with a cute smile.
"Gyros?" questioned Pandora with a raised eyebrow.
"They're a more modern addition to Greek cuisine," explained Danny. "I think you might like them, Pandora."
"Then let us acquire these gyros!" exclaimed Pandora, pointing her spear towards the city.
"Wait, what about Ares? What are we going to do with him since Walker hasn't come to collect like he usually does?" questioned Ember.
Pandora let out a huff. "As if that warden could hold someone like Ares. No, I'll be dealing with Ares myself once I return to the Ghost Zone. I'll have Clockwork return your thermos to you once I have Ares secured, Daniel."
"Works for me. Now let's go get those gyros!"
The four then made their way into the city, with Danielle babbling on about this and that to Pandora, much to the ancient ghost's amusement.
-:-
Later that night, Pandora had returned to her realm. She had wished she could have stayed to watch Ember's show, but she had responsibilities that needed to be taken care. Such as the ones in her hands.
In one hand she held the thermos that held Ares. In the other, Alectryon, which she had to wrestle out of the little one's grasp. Pandora was tempted to leave the bird with the child as its punishment, but it was clear that Daniel and Ember would not allow it. For now though, the bird will suffer the same fate as Ares.
Pointing the thermos forward, Pandora pressed the button and released Ares, much to the war god's surprise and glee.
"Ha! How foolish of you, Pandora, to release me! Now nothing can stop me from my conquest!" exclaimed the smug Ares, only to get conked on the head by Pandora's spear.
"You are in my realm now, Ares. You have no power here," stated Pandora with a hiss. She then shoved some gardening tools into his arms. "Now get to work!"
Ares could only grimace as he was forced to work in Pandora's Garden. As he began to trim the hedges, he could do nothing but curse Pandora and the mortal that caused this.
He also wished he had just stayed in his previous prison since it was a lot better than this.
ATHENS END
-:-
I really wish it didn't take me over a month to get this out, but I hit a few snags while writing it. First, I had to get a new laptop, since the one I had been using became too old (I had it for a little over ten years) and I couldn't go on FanFiction or AO3 because of that. Luckily, I was able to transfer everything over to the new laptop, so I didn't lose any progress I already written down. The other snag was writer's block on how to write out the Ares fight. I knew what I wanted, but actually getting it down was a struggle.
As for Ares himself, I wanted to do something different with him. Most forms of media, like DC Comics or the God of War video game, portrays Ares as this giant threat that can decimate anything in their way. In the actual myths, Ares is constantly humiliated by others and that's what I wanted to go with for this version of Ares. Plus it also makes Ares feel more like a Danny Phantom character. Either way, I hope the Danny vs Ares fight was at least passable. Writing fight scenes has always been a week point for me.
Fun Fact: Alectryon is the origin of the story of the rooster that brings the sun with its crowing.
Since the Interlude is next, I SHOULD be able to get it out sometime this weekend since the interludes are a bit easier to write.
