Alexander and Eliza's wedding is an enviable affair. Angelica's careful eye has overseen every inch of the celebration. From the petals of each flower to the dressing for each chair to each strand on Eliza's fair head, Angelica has had her hand in it all. And so, it's only natural that the wedding is the event of the season. Anyone who's anyone in New York is there and having the time of their life.

"Now, everyone give it up for the maid of honour, Angelica Schuyler!"

Angelica flushes as she takes the stand and raises her glass. "To the groom! To the bride!"

Anyone who wasn't impressed by silverware is most certainly impressed by the free-flowing alcohol. The party quickly forgets about Angelica's heartfelt speech to her sister and instead focuses their attention on drinking as much as possible. The joyous dancing and cheerful conversation is almost enough to distract Angelica from the wedding celebrations. Almost. Still, Angelica is a diligent host. She makes the rounds and no one—not one person—could possibly guess that she is anything but happy for her little sister.

But eventually, the guests take their leave and stumble onto the streets. The bride and groom follow. And Angelica, left alone in a mess of her own making, is suddenly alone with her thoughts. She leaves the hall, her hands clasped together and her heart thumping in her chest. But as she steps onto the street, the dark skies above her open. And after a few moments, the rain begins to pour.

Angelica looks up at the sky, letting the water run over her. Somehow, it seems only fitting that it should rain the day her sister marries the boy she loves. Even more so that she's the one to get caught in it.
