A/N: This two-parter is another of my favourite SPD episodes, as it's the two-parter when Cruger becomes the Shadow Ranger.

On the planet of Sirius years ago, Cruger fought against dozens of Krybots with a sword that had a wolf/dog head above the handle, as sparks came up all around him from the destruction.

"Hyah! Yah!" he shouted, slashing his sword down.

He slashed it around, hitting ones chest, as he made his last stand, growling as he held his sword up.

Nearby, Grumm - who had both horns intact - watched with pride as his ship flew over them.

"Victory is ours!" he roared.

Cruger closed his eyes as Grumm pointed his hand at him.

"Take him down!" he ordered.

"NOOO!" Cruger groaned.

A dozen Krybots grabbed him from all sides as he tried to slash the ones in front of him.

"Ah!" he grunted.

Grumm clutched his fist with delight as the Krybots overwhelmed him, while sparks came out all over. Nearby, laughed a green skinned alien with metal armor on his body, who had one red eye, one yellow one. It covered is chest and left side of his head, with mufflers on his back, a caped skirt beneath him, and he had robotic feet, a claw for his left hand, and part of a Gatling blaster on his right hand.

Cruger reached out to grab someone near the alien.

"Doggie!" a woman called. "Doggie, help?!"

Cruger closed his eyes as he got blasted.

"NOOOO!" he cried, falling over.

(Reality)

Cruger woke up in the Command Room of the Delta Base behind his desk, having fallen asleep on it and dreamt the whole thing. He panted as he looked around, seeing no one around.

"No." he said.

He touched his head as he sighed, as he had PTSD from his past. He rubbed his head as he bent it down, before he turned around, as his sword lay beneath the symbol in the room. He sighed as Kat came over and touched his shoulder, as she knew what was troubling him, making him turn to her.

"You had the dream again?" she said.

"Yes." Cruger sighed, turning away.

The next day, Jack and Syd were both fighting an Orange-Head in the city.

"Ah!" Syd groaned, as they got knocked back.

"Yah!" Jack yelled.

They both charged forward, before the Orange-Head jumped up and scissor kicked them both, knocking them back as it landed on the ground.

"Ah!" Jack yelped, hitting his back against a railing.

"Uh!" Syd moaned, hitting the ground.

The Orange-Head turned to them and held up its left hand, before Jack charged at it, as Syd got up.

"Yah!" she yelled, charging forward.

The Orange-Head moved backwards, then dodged as Syd spun around to tackle it, before blocking a punch from Jack with his sword. It jumped up and twirled around as Jack spun around to tackle it, then both Rangers punched it slightly, making it twirl around.

"Ah!" it yelled.

It landed on its feet, then side flipped to its left.

"OHH!" it yelled.

It landed on its feet, as both Rangers charged at it, then it blocked a kick from Jack with its sword, before slashing him down the chest. It then tried to slash Syd, but missed as she ducked, then it grabbed her foot as she tried to kick it, then she blocked its sword with her left forearm. She grabbed its arm, then jumped and tried to kick its chest with her right foot, but missed as it leaned to its left, before it grabbed her shoulder, then threw her away.

"Whoa!" she yelped, before hitting the ground on her chest. "Uh!"

Jack tried to punch the Orange-Head as it spun around, but missed as it ducked while doing it, then it slashed him across the chest, knocking him away.

"Yah!" it yelled, as lighting came out of its sword.

"Whoa!" Jack yelped.

He hit the ground on his back.

"Give up yet?" the Orange-Head asked.

Jack pulled himself up as Syd came up beside him.

"No way!" he said, before Syd turned around.

"You think we should call for some backup?" she said.

"Nah. We got this one." Jack said. "Yah!"

They both charged in, but a few minutes later, they got knocked away again.

"Whoa!" Syd yelped.

She went flying away and hit the ground on her side, before she rolled over.

"Oh!" she moaned.

"AHH!" Jack yelled, flying away.

He flipped forward and hit the ground on his back, as the Orange-Head laughed. Jack rolled onto his chest as Syd sat up slightly, both staring at it.

"How 'bout now?" Syd suggested.

"Nah. He's falling right into my trap." Jack assured, touching her shoulder before getting up. "Yah!"

He charged forward as Syd got up, before she joined him, but a little later, they got knocked away again.

"Whoa!" they yelped, hitting the ground on their backs.

"Syd?" Jack said, sitting up.

"Yeah?" Syd said.

"Maybe we need some backup." Jack said, clutching his shoulder as they got up.

"Ya think?" Syd said sarcastically, as he touched her shoulder.

She brought out her morpher and opened it up in 'Phone' mode.

"Rangers, we could use some help here." she said.

"No..."

(Delta Base)

Sky stood in the Command Room, standing by the center panel as the alarms blared.

"...can do, Syd. We have our hands full." he explained.

He stared at the screen on the panel, which showed a green balance-themed alien resembling a manta ray called Debugger, who had eyes on his chest, in the city, holding a bus with his long arms, as normal Cops looked at him.

"Put the bus down!" one demanded.

"As a matter of fact, we're gonna ask you for..."

(The city)

"...Syd's help."

Jack lifted Syd's morpher to his mouthpiece.

"No problem." he said. "Go on, Syd. I can handle this guy."

He charged forward.

"You sure?" Syd asked, putting her morpher away.

Jack began fighting the Orange-Head, who kneed his chest, making Syd cover her mouthpiece with her hands.

"Oh!" she gasped, moving them to her ear areas. "Ah!"

"Whoa!" Jack yelped, getting throwing towards her.

He landed on his feet near Syd.

"Jack?" she said, touching his back.

"I'm sure." Jack said, turning to her while touching his shoulders.

He moved her aside as he moved past her.

"Now, get going." he said.

"Yeah." Syd nodded, before she turned and ran off.

"Yah!" Jack yelled, before charging in.

Elsewhere, Delta Runners 2 to 6 all arrived on the scene of Debugger, Delta Runner 3 racing right over a lane of parked cars. Delta Runner 4 raced down a road as its sirens wailed, while Delta Runner 6 did the same from another route, as Delta Runner 2 rose up past some buildings as it flew towards the scene.

All five Delta Runners soon surrounded Debugger from all sides, Delta Runner 3 being near the normal police cars in front of him, Delta Runner 2 coming in behind him, Delta Runner 4 on his left, Delta Runner 5 on his right, with Delta Runner 6 being between Delta Runner's 3 and 4.

Once Syd arrived, she jumped up and landed in her Delta Runner.

"Pink reporting in." she said. "Now let's de-bug this city."

Delta Runner 5's electronic sign flashed an image of an upside down arrow on blue, with 'SPD' over it.

The back of the top of Delta Runner 6 opened up, lifting out is satellite dish, which spun around.

"We gotta be careful, guys." Val reported. "Those people trapped in that bus are scared of that creep holding them."

"I'll take care of it." Bridge said.

Delta Runner 3's back extended out, then the Delta Blaster rose up and fired the super crime scene tape out, which wrapped around Debugger, making him drop the bus.

"NOO!" he cried.

The bus went flying away, as Delta Runner 2 flew towards it.

"I'll get it." Sky said.

A small magnet cable extended out of the bottom of Delta Runner 2, which lowered itself down and caught the bus, before it flew off with the bus, before putting it down.

"Nice catch, Sky." Val remarked.

"Thanks" Sky said.

Elsewhere, Jack and the Orange-Head both stared at each other.

"You're through!" the Orange-Head growled, pointing its sword at Jack.

It shot lighting from it, which hit Jack's chest as he aimed his right blaster at him.

"Ah! Whoa!" he yelped, skidding backwards.

He managed to stop himself, before the Orange-Head held up its sword.

"Yah!" it yelled, digging it into th ground.

Lighting and sparks shot up along it, before they hit Jack, knocking him up.

"AHH!" he moaned, before he went flying away. "Whoa!"

He twirled around and hit the ground on his back.

"Uh!" he moaned.

"Had enough?" the Orange-Head asked, holding its sword up.

"Yeah!" Jack retorted, getting up while clutching his shoulder. "Matter of fact, I have!"

He combined his blasters into combo mode.

"Huh?" the Orange-Head gasped.

"Delta Blaster, combo mode!" Jack shouted, aiming it. "Fire!"

He fired a blast from it, which hit the Orange-Head.

"AHH!" it moaned.

It fell onto its chest and blew up as Jack turned around.

"I'm glad that's over." he said.

Back in the other part of the city, Delta Runner 2 hovered over Debugger, as the other Delta Runners were now parked together. It dropped the ends of its wings down, which made the cuffs, which landed on top of Debugger and a building, placing him under arrest.

"Got him." Sky said.

Debugger lowered his head and began to cry.

On Grumm's ship, Grumm was watching Debugger cry from a holographic image near the control panel.

"No! You are evil, and invincible!" he roared. "And monsters do not cry?!"

Mora walked into the room as Debugger kept crying.

"I see someone's upset?" she noted.

Grumm turned to her as the holographic image vanished.

"Silence!" he growled, his eyes glowing.

"And didn't brush his teeth." Mora said, waving her hand over her face.

"Your foolish monster lost to the Power Rangers!" Grumm growled.

"They...are...not...foolish!" Mora roared, outraged. "They're creations, created from my imagination! They're horribly evil."

"Ha! Your horribly evil monster cried." Grumm huffed.

"He's sensitive." Mora defended. "Something you might take a lesson from."

Grumm got up as he put his hands on his hips.

"I am the Emperor of the Troobian Military force, which has conquered 3 galaxies, 2 star-systems, and over 100 planets!" he declared, as Mora rolled her eyes and mouthed him.

"And apparently, a wee bit sensitive." Mora added, getting his attention. "D'you want to know how to defeat the Power Rangers?"

"Yes." Grumm answered.

"First, you have to say 'please'?" Mora said.

"Listen, you...pint-sized, whiny, intolerant, little brat, either you tell me how to defeat the Power Rangers, or you will find yourself back exactly the way I found you." Grumm threatened coldly.

"Not fair." Mora spat. "And also, not fair. Okay, fine. If you wanna defeat the Power Rangers..."

She motioned forward with her finger, making him lean in.

"...defeat their leader." she said.

"Hmm? Excellent, Mora." Grumm said, turning away. "Excellent."

Mora hummed and stuck her tongue out, making him turn back just as she pulled it back. She smiled before she turned and walked off, as Grumm turned away again and laughed evilly.

Later, in the Delta Base, the Rangers were all sitting around the center control panel in the Command Room, as Kat and others worked on the wall panels. They were all laughing about Debugger had did once all but Jack had arrested him, Jack having been told by the others. (Val sat between Syd and Bridge)

"I've never seen anything like that." Z said. "That big-old monster cried."

"I know. What a cry-baby he was." Val teased.

"Maybe it was his birthday and no-one remembered." Bridge suggested.

"Nah." Jack said, as Sky and the girls laughed.

Cruger walked in with a grouchy face, before he stopped and stared at them all.

"Are you laughing at me?" he asked sharply.

The Rangers all turned to him, along with Kat.

"No, sir." Syd assured. "We were just-"

"May I remind you that you're in an SPD control room." Cruger said. "And I expect you to act accordingly!"

"Sir, we meant do disrespect, we were just" Sky began.

"If you cannot comply with my request then I suggest you take your childish behaviour elsewhere!" Cruger barked, just as Jane showed up.

"Wait a minute?!" Jack said, getting up. "I don't care who you are, you can't talk to us like that!"

"Standing up for your squad, Jack?" Cruger asked, approaching the panel, as Jane stopped in the doorway.

"Yeah!" Jack said.

"It's about time you took on your leadership role." Cruger said. "Now why don't you lead your team out of my sight!"

Sky turned to Jack, shocked by Cruger's tone, as Kat looked between the Rangers and Cruger, while Jane opened her mouth.

"What?" she muttered.

"Out!" Cruger roared.

The Rangers all got up and began to walk towards the door, as Jane moved away.

"Yes, sir." Jack said.

They all left the room as Cruger held up his right arm.

"And not a word from you either?" he asked.

Kat blinked before she walked off, leaving Jane confused.

"And whatever it is, Bailey, leave it." he ordered.

Jane looked confused, before she turned and followed Kat as they both left the room.

A little later, the Rangers all entered the Common Room.

"Okay, is it just me or did Cruger come totally uncorked?" Z asked, as she and Syd entered.

Val and Sky both followed them in, followed by Jack and Bridge.

"He's been acting cranky all week." Syd noted. "I think it's too much stress."

"Maybe he's not getting a lot of sleep." Val suggested. "You know, PTSD and all that keeping him awake."

"Good point." Z agreed.

"Look, I not agreeing with the way he handled it, but technically, the control room is..." Sky began.

Everyone looked at him, all thinking the same thing.

"You're right." he admitted. "It was a little uncalled for."

"It could be fleas. I remember my bulldog had fleas." Bridge said. "He was grumpy for weeks."

He pulled a grumpy face and put his hands on his cheeks.

"All bulldogs look like that." Z said.

"Yeah." Val agreed, nodding.

Bridge frowned slightly as Kat and Jane both walked in.

"Sorry, guys." Kat said.

Bridge lowered his hands and turned around, as they all stared at Kat and Jane.

"Kat, what's going on?" Sky asked, as Syd folded her arms.

"Would you mind telling me as well, Kat?" Jane asked. "I mean, I've never seen the Commander like this."

"Years ago, the Troobian forces invaded Sirius." Kat explained, her arms folded. "Commander Cruger...he lost everything. That's not an excuse for his behavior. I just wanted to let you all know."

"So that explains it." Jane sighed.

"PTSD, just like I said." Val said.

Meanwhile, in the city, Piggy was in an alley, searching a barrel for some trash, when a homeless alien pushing a shopping cart passed by, with a radio inside, which played the News with a man speaking.

"...lottery ticket is worth ten million bucks. Remember, the numbers are 5, 10, 15, 20 and 21."

Piggy turned to the alien with the cart, having overheard the radio.

"5, 10, 15, 20, 21? Ten million bucks?" he questioned, turning away. "Imagine all the wonderful garbage I could buy with that?"

He turned to a old car as other aliens nearby talked, when something caught his eye.

"Ah." he said. "What is that?"

He ran over to the car, and picked up a sock with holes in from the window. He sniffed it, making a rude noise as he did, before he looked at it.

"Good as new." he said.

He put in on his left hand like a glove.

"Fits like a glove. Must be my lucky day." he said.

Broodwing came up behind him and grabbed him from behind, before throwing him away.

"Whoa!" he yelped.

He landed in a pile of boxes and rubbish bags, squashing some as he did.

"Oh!" he moaned.

He pulled himself up, most of the trash falling off him, expect a banana peel.

"You owe me 500 dollars." Broodwing said, making Piggy gasp, making the banana peel fall off him. "The information I brought was bad."

"Who, me? Sell bad information?" Piggy inquired, pointing at himself. "Perhaps you are mistaken?"

"I'm not." Broodwing swore, moving to his right. "Return the 500 dollars or I will turn you inside out."

"Oh... That happened to me once. Very painful." Piggy shuddered.

"You have three hours." Broodwing warned, holding up three fingers.

He raised his cape up, knocking Piggy back into the trash on his chest.

"Oh!" he moaned.

He lifted his head up, with a lottery ticket stuck to his head.

"Where am I gonna get 500 dollars?" he wondered, as he'd spent the money. "Huh? Huh?"

He took the ticket off his face and turned it around, seeing it had the winning numbers.

"Oh. '5, 10, 15, 20, 21'." he read.

He threw the ticket away, before he got up and turned around.

"Oh, well." he said.

He stopped and turned back, realizing what he'd just done.

"Oh! I'm rich!" he said, as he dived down and began searching for the ticket.

That night, as a green light shot down towards the city, a man was walking down a dark street towards his pickup truck. A bin fell off a dumpster as he walked towards them, before he picked it up and stood it upright. He turned to his truck as he took out his keys, then began to put them in the truck, when lighting went off in the sky, which hit the ground nearby.

"Whoa!" the man yelped, turning left.

Smoke rose up from the lighting spot, before it vanished and showed Grumm, who laughed, before looking around.

"Ah!" the man gasped, blinking.

"You're under my command." Grumm hissed, approaching the man.

The man stumbled back in horror, before he fell slightly.

"No! Ah!" he moaned.

He fell onto his back and passed out, as Grumm stood over him.

"Excellent. Your likeness will do." Grumm said.

He laughed sinisterly, then he turned and walked over towards a pillar, then when he came out the other side, he looked exactly like the man. He cracked his neck as he looked around, before his eyes glowed, then he walked off.

A little later, a bunch of aliens were sitting at tables, eating garbage food outside a new trailer café. It was called Piggy's Café, as Piggy had used some of the money he'd won from the lottery to pay for it and everything else. Among the aliens there included three resembling Crocotox Blue, Conwing, and Chameliacon.

Broodwing stood by the door to the café, which had a neon sign which said 'Piggy's Café', looking around at the place.

"Piggy's new café is great." an alien said.

Piggy came out of the door with money, then stood in front of Broodwing.

"Okay. Uh, 300..." Piggy began, putting the money into Broodwing's hand. "...400...500. Uh, here's an extra thousand to get that, uh fishbowl of yours winterized."

"You may be a millionaire, but you're still the same disgusting filthy wretched piece of worthless garbage to me!" Broodwing said, poking his chest.

"Thank you." Piggy said. "It's nice to know money hasn't changed me."

Sparks began to come out of the neon sign.

"Hey, hey!" an alien said.

"What's going on?" another questioned.

"I can't see my dinner!" a third complained.

"Huh?" Piggy muttered.

He turned around as the sign and all the lights went out.

"Piece of junk!" Piggy groaned, slamming the generator.

He turned around as he heard Grumm laughing.

"Huh?" some aliens gasped.

They all turned and saw Grumm's glowing eyes in the darkness, before he stepped out of it in his disguise, as the power came back on.

"Emperor, is that you?" Piggy asked.

"Broodwing, we need to talk." Grumm said.

"I am honored by your presence on my, uh, opening night." Piggy said nervously. "Next time, call for reservations?"

Grumm grabbed two aliens at a table by the shoulder and threw them down onto their backs.

"Whoa!" they yelped.

"Oh!" Piggy gasped, as Broodwing laughed.

"There's been a cancellation. Sit." Grumm said, pointing at a chair.

He and Broodwing both sat at the table, as Piggy walked off.

"Emperor, all you have to do is summon me, and like always, I would've come to you." Broodwing assured.

"It was time I came to see this planet I'm about to conquer." Grumm explained, as Piggy put two smoking drinks on the table. "I'm sending one of my top Gens. to see you."

Piggy put some food on the table.

"I want you to give him everything he needs." Grumm explained.

"But of course." Broodwing understood.

In the Delta Base, the Rangers were all sitting around the center panel working, as Cruger stood nearby blinking, while Kat stood by one of the right panels. (Val was between Z and Syd) The Rangers kept working, before Bridge began to get woozy, then he sneezed into his gloves.

"Achoo!" he said.

The others all turned, with Sky and Syd backing away slightly as they were closet, before he lifted his head up.

"Sorry. Sorry." he said. "Sorry, sir."

"Salud." Val said.

The others turned to her.

"That means bless you." she translated.

"Oh." Jack said.

"Thanks, Val." Bridge said.

Kat turned around.

"Commander...?" she said.

Cruger huffed.

"...I think you'll wanna see this." she said.

Cruger turned and walked towards her, as the Rangers looked up at them both.

"I was doing a scan of the last 12 hour energy levels in the city." Kat explained, as they both looked at a map of the city. "All looked normal."

"Hmm?" Cruger muttered, as the Rangers came up behind them.

"Then, I took off the gamma filters, which registers any cloaking activity." Kat continued. "I found one."

The screen showed the city after the gamma filter was removed, showing a strong reading.

"Perhaps it's a malfunction." Cruger suggested.

"Not a chance. I designed that program myself." Kat explained. "Whatever's out there, it is big and it's dangerous."

Cruger turned around to the Rangers, making them stand at attention.

"Rangers, investigate those coordinates." he ordered, as Kat turned around.

"Yes, sir." Jack said.

They all turned and walked off towards the doorway, then out of the room, leaving Cruger puzzled.

"They're acting oddly." he noted. "I wonder what it is?"

"You are the...it." Kat answered, making him turn to her.

Cruger huffed before he turned and walked away, as Kat turned to the panel.

Later, Broodwing stood in an alley, while at the very alien from Cruger's past and dreams came towards him, who was called Benagg.

"He comes." Broodwing said.

He laughed as Benagg clutched his claw, as stream came from his mufflers, chuckling as he did.

"Ah, the infamous Gen. Benagg." Broodwing said, turning around.

Benagg stopped as Broodwing came towards him.

"I have been sent here to help you." Broodwing explained.

"I need no help!" Benagg spat. "Especially from the likes of you."

He aimed his Gatling laser up at Broodwing's face.

"I beg to differ. SPD is a worthy opponent led by a great commander." Broodwing explained.

"Doggie Cruger? Ha!" Benagg scoffed, turning away.

He walked off slightly while clutching his fist.

"I have defeated him before. I have taken everything from him." he said, before holding his claw up. "And I will do it again!"

He turned around and fired his Gatling blaster at Broodwing, hitting the ground around him, making sparks come up from it.

"I like your style." Broodwing said impressed.

He turned to Benagg and laughed.

Back at Piggy's café, the aliens were all talking amongst each other happily, as music played.

"Look!" one alien gasped.

Others all turned, seeing the Rangers coming towards them.

"Run! Run! Run!" another panicked.

They all turned and ran away, confusing Piggy, who was behind the counter in the trailer, leaving just one customer left.

"Hey? Where's everybody going?" he questioned, as the music turned off.

He got out of the trailer.

"Oh, come back?" he called, before he stopped and looked around. "Hey, I'll..."

He turned around, seeing the Rangers coming towards him.

"Ah! Oh... It's SPD." he said.

"Ah! Hey!" the last customer said, as he got up and ran off.

"What's going on, Pig-man?" Jack joked. "We, uh, heard about your good fortune."

"Yes. And uh, thanks for dropping by." Piggy said, motioning them to leave with his hands.

"Oh..." Jack said.

"What's the rush, Piggy?" Sky asked.

"The rush? If you didn't notice, you're SPD." Piggy said, pointing at them. "Not exactly who my patrons want to dine with."

"Dine?" Syd questioned, disgusted. "This place is a roach-infested germ-farm."

"Well, thanks." Piggy said. "I've done my best."

"Maybe you should choose your customers more carefully." Val advised. "If only criminals come here, you're bound to loose business."

"Either that or you stay away from here." Piggy argued.

"Listen, just tell us what we wanna know, and we'll get outta this dump." Z promised.

"Flattery won't work on me." Piggy said.

Just then, Benagg rose up from behind a table with a cloak around him.

"Looking for me?" he said, raising his head, showing his face.

The Rangers gasped as they turned to him.

"Ah!" they yelped, getting ready to fight.

Benagg threw off his cloak and laughed, then knocked a table over, making Piggy back away.

"Hey!" he complained.

"Looks like Piggy's place has a little rat infestation." Jack noted.

"I hate rats!" the girls said together.

"I am Benagg, prime Gen. of the Troobian Force." Benagg explained, holding up his claw.

"Let's suit it." Sky said.

"Don't bother." Benagg said, as they reached for their morphers, before he held up a sphere. "Just give this to Commander Cruger."

He tossed it towards them, before Jack caught it, leaving the Rangers confused.

The next day, the Rangers and Kat all stood around the center panel in the Command Room, which had the device on. (Val was between Z and Kat) A hologram shot up from it, showing Benagg, as Cruger sat behind his desk, before getting up.

"I hope you enjoy your last sunrise, Doggie Cruger." Benagg said. "I have navigated three star-systems to find you. We meet this afternoon for your final battle."

"You have travelled in vain. I do not battle anymore." Cruger said.

"Oh..." Benagg laughed. "I will see to it that you do battle. I can promise you that."

The hologram vanished, leaving the Rangers confused.

"Ah!" Cruger growled.

"What do you mean you won't fight, sir?" Sky asked.

"Don't you get it, Sky? It's deception, it's gotta be." Jack said.

"Who is he, Commander?" Z asked.

"And how do you know him?" Syd asked.

"He sounded like you two have a history." Val noted.

"Yeah." Bridge agreed. "You've gotta tell us something, sir?"

Cruger sighed as Kat got in front of him.

"They have a right to know the truth, Commander." she said.

Cruger huffed as she nodded, before he sighed and gave in.

"My home of Sirius was invaded by Grumm." he began. "Sirius had assembled an elite squad of galactic defenders; Space Patrol Delta, the first SPD. We battled for months without sleep..."

(Flashback)

On Siruis years ago, Cruger and other Sirians all fought Krybots with swords near rubble, Cruger slashing one down the chest.

"...though our men fought valiantly..."

Cruger turned and slashed two more as they came at him.

Grumm stood on top of a pile of rubble, as a swarm of Krybots marched forward.

"Attack!" he commanded.

"...we were no match for the endless army of Troobians."

"Victory is mine!" Grumm declared, as his ship flew over him.

Cruger stood on a pile of rubble as Krybots began to swarm all over him.

"While we fought their soldiers..."

A few spaceships flew over the area and fired lasers at the ruined city.

"...Grumm turned his giant robots loose on the defenceless..."

Benagg laughed while standing amongst some rubble.

"...cities. Gen. Benagg led those troops..."

Cruger slashed a Krybot with his sword.

"...against us."

He slashed another across the chest, then blocked another's blade with his sword, before a dozen crawled all over him.

"AHH!" he groaned.

Sparks went off behind him as they pinned him down, while Grumm laughed triumphantly.

"NO!" Cruger said.

"Fire!" Benagg commanded.

Cruger fell backwards as he got blasted, with a lot of sparks going off behind him.

"We were overrun. We were defeated."

Another Sirien got blasted in the chest and fell over.

"AH!" Cruger moaned, falling through a smokescreen.

Later, Cruger lay in the rubble of the city, reaching for his sword.

"When I awoke, I was alone. My people were gone."

He grabbed his sword and got up, holding it.

"I was the last of my squad, the last of my kind."

"No!" Cruger cried, dropping his sword.

It hit the ground with a chatter, then he looked up and howled loudly.

(Flashback ends)

The Rangers all looked at Cruger, saddened by his story as he opened his eyes.

"I had failed my planet, my squad, my..." he said.

Kat lowered her head as he hesitated.

"Ah... I vowed never to pick up my sword again." he finished. "That is my story."

"Que horrible." Val muttered sadly.

Meanwhile, in the Downtown area of the city, as people were either sitting or walking while chatting to others, a woman stood behind a flower stand, handing a man a set of flowers.

"Thanks." he said, taking them. "It's great."

Nearby, Grumm - still in disguise - walked down a path near a tree, looking around at everyone's joy. As he passed by sets of flowers, they all died, then he stopped and looked at the flower stand and everyone else, making him sick.

"Hi, I'd like some flowers." a girl said, approaching the stand.

"You wanna grab a coffee tonight?" a woman said, walking with her boyfriend.

"I'd love to." he said.

"Why? Why battle for such a tiny miserable planet?" Grumm hissed. "I do not understand? There can be only one outcome for them. Always, only one outcome."

He turned around as a couple got off from a small wall.

"Time to begin." he said.

He walked off as the ground began to shake, making everyone wobble.

"What's that?" a woman said.

Everyone began moving away, when a large metal spike with multi-colored triangles rose up from the ground in a flower bed.

In the Delta Base, the shaking had caused the Rangers to fall over or back towards the door, as the Cadets by the panels manged to stay up.

"Whoa!" Jack yelped.

"¿Qué en el mundo?" Val exclaimed.

Z and Bridge kept hold of the center panel as Syd crawled towards it, as Cruger and Kat stood on the other side.

"What's going on?" Syd said.

"What is this?" Cruger asked. "Earthquake?"

"No, energy trimmers." Kat answered.

"Rangers, suit up!" Cruger ordered.

Jack took out his morpher and held it up.

"Ready?" he asked.

"Ready!" the others said, doing the same.

"SPD Emergency!"

(Morph sequence)

The screen split into six, Sky in the top left, Jack in the top middle, Bridge in the top right, Syd in the bottom left, Z in the bottom middle, Val in the bottom right. They all pressed their morpher's buttons, shooting out the holograms on their suits, before they all back flipped away and morphed up. They all landed crouched down, before their helmets appeared on them, then they did their fight poses.

"Space Patrol Delta!"

(End morph sequence)

Once in their Delta Runners, they all raced them off down the tunnel. They then all raced out of the base - Delta Runner 2 spreading its gyro wings out as it flew off.

In the Command Room, Cruger and Kat looked at the Delta Runners on a screen on the center panel.

"They're up against an enemy they don't know. You do." Kat said.

"What's your point, Dr. Manx?" Cruger asked.

"You know Benagg, yet you send a squad of heroic yet inexperienced kids up against him? You should be out there with them." Kat said.

"No! It is not my place anymore." Cruger said.

"Doggie, I know this brings up a lot of memories for you, but running from them won't-" Kat began.

"I am not running from them!" Cruger argued, banging his fist into the panel.

"Then why didn't you tell the Rangers everything?" Kat asked. "You withheld the most important part of your story?"

"This is my business, not theirs!" Cruger argued.

"Well, I think it is their business! You're a team! There shouldn't be any secrets." Kat argued.

Cruger sighed.

"Here, I made you something." Kat said, handing him a sliver case.

Cruger took it from her, then opened it up, but wasn't happy with what was inside. Kat looked at him carefully, before he closed it up.

"This is bordering on insubordination." he said. "I suggest you leave my sight while you can."

"Stubborn old dog!" Kat snapped. "Resisting what you fear can only bring it into existence."

"Out!" Cruger barked loudly.

Kat frowned and took the case from him, before she turned and walked off out of the room, leaving Cruger alone by the panel. As Kat walked down the hallway, Jane walked past her, before she stopped.

"You okay, Kat?" Jane asked. "You look angry."

"Yes, I am, Jane." Kat answered. "The Commander snapped at me when I tried to talk to him."

Jane looked shocked as Kat turned and walked off away from her.

"Okay, this is weird?" Jane muttered, putting her hand on her chin.

In the Downtown area of the city, a giant light blue robot with one eye, red triangular chest armor, and a drill on its forehead, four on each hand, and two on its back, rose up from the ground.

"This city is mine." the Blue-Head piloting it said.

It laughed before it moved the Drill Robot towards the spike and grabbed it. It turned the spike upside down, then dug it into the ground, before the triangles lit up as the Drill Robot backed away.

A little later, another spike rose up near the harbor, followed by the Drill Robot, which grabbed it and dug it into the ground, smashing through a warehouse as it did. The same process then happened at the West end of town, then the East end, then the North end, and then the airport.

Delta Runner 1 turned left down the street as it arrived on the scene.

"The road's blocked!" Jack exclaimed.

"Not you again?" the Blue-Head exclaimed.

The Drill Robot moved in front of the spike.

"Not for long. Coming through!" Z yelled, punching her fist up.

Delta Runner 4 knocked over some rubble made by the last hole as it raced towards the Drill Robot.

"Wahoo!" Z whooped.

The Drill Robot put its left foot down, which Delta Runner 4 hit, then it kicked the Delta Runner away.

"Oh! OH!" Z yelled.

Delta Runner 4 rolled over as it moved away.

"I'll get him, Z!" Bridge called.

Delta Runner 3's back extended up, then the Delta Blaster lifted up and fired its laser blaster, hitting the Drill Robot's chest.

"Oh! Uh!" the Blue-Head groaned.

Delta Runner 1 lifted itself up onto its right side, racing towards the Drill Robot while having the Delta Sword attached to its left back wheel. The Drill Robot grabbed the sword once it was close, then lifted it slightly.

"OH!" Jack yelped.

The Drill Robot flicked the sword away, sending Delta Runner 1 flying away.

"Whoa!" Jack yelped.

The Drill Robot dug itself back into the ground and vanished, as Delta Runner 2 fired its Gatling Blasters at it, making it miss.

Delta Runner 1 skidded around as Jack steadied it.

"Whoa!" he yelped.

"He's gone?" Sky questioned. "Syd, Val, can you find him?"

"No, he's just vanished." Syd reported.

The back of the top of Delta Runner 6 opened up, lifting out is satellite dish, which began moving around.

"I'm not picking him up on my scanners." Val said, fiddling with her controls. "He's too deep for me to track. We've lost him."

Sky then noticed the spike at the airport.

"But he left those spikes? I wonder why?" he said.

(Delta Base)

Cruger watched Delta Runner 2 begin to lower its cable down towards the spike.

"Stop! Leave the spikes and return to base immediately!" he ordered.

"But, sir, I can-" Sky began.

"This is an order!" Cruger barked.

Later, the Rangers were back in the Command Room of the Delta Base, all standing around the center panel.

"Look, I could've pulled those spikes outta the ground." Sky snarled, turning to Cruger.

"Yes, you could have, but you don't know what they are or what they might do." Cruger argued, turning to the Rangers. "We don't do anything until we find those things out. Kat! Where's Kat?"

Z lowered her head as Syd shook hers, while Val blinked.

"Kat!" Cruger roared.

"We should be out in the city patrolling." Jack insisted, as the girls nodded in agreement. "Not sitting in here waiting for something to happen."

"You do not know this enemy!" Cruger argued coldly. "You have not come up against anything like him before, I have. We wait."

"Don't you mean, we wait?" Z asked.

Cruger huffed.

"Sir!" came Boom's voice.

Cruger turned around as he and Jane both showed up in the doorway.

"Sir, Kat has returned to her post, and she's not answering her communicator either." Boom explained.

"She's not in her quarters either." Jane added. "I don't think anyone's seen her in awhile."

"Something's not right." Boom said.

RIC's eye lit up as he barked, making everyone turn to him, before he stormed out of the room, then left down the hallway. Boom and Jane turned to Cruger and the Rangers as they turned to them, Cruger frowning while the others looked confused.

Meanwhile, Kat was walking through the city, past a few stores towards a set of steps, when a hooded figure came out from behind a pillar. Another came out of a store and played with its hood, before they both came towards her. She stopped as hear ears allowed her to hear them, but when she turned around, they vanished. When she turned back however, they both grabbed her by the arms.

"Uh!" she grunted.

Both thugs turned her around and pulled her away, before they turned her around again, but then she kicked her feet on a pillar and ran up it.

"Yah!" she yelled, back flipping away.

She landed on her feet, then held her right arm up with her left behind her, before both thugs charged at her. The first tried to punch her, but she grabbed his arm while spinning around, then she lifted her feet up and kicked the second's chest. She then dived down and bent down on all fours as the first came at her, tripping him up and sending him flying away, who hit the ground on his back. She turned around, then rolled away as the second tried to kick her, then she got up and twirled around as he tried to tackle her.

"Yah!" she yelled.

The second moved past her as the first spun around to tackle her, but she was still airborne, before she landed on her feet past them both. She jumped and kicked the first's chest with both feet, then turned and kicked the second's side, flipping him onto his back.

"OH!" it moaned.

Kat waved her right leg out, blocking a kick from the first, then she jumped slightly and moved past him as he tried to tackle her. She turned and then back flipped away as the second tried to tackle her.

"Yah!" the first yelled, spinning around and doing a kick.

Kat landed on her feet and stared at them, then she kicked the second's chest, then she ducked as the first ran past and tried to punch her.

"Yah!" she yelled, lifting her leg back, kicking his chest.

"OH!" he moaned, stumbling away.

Kat jumped up and twirled around to kick the second, but missed as it ducked, before she landed with her legs apart. She grabbed his arm as he came at her, before she grabbed his leg and lifted her right leg up, kicking his other arm.

"Yah!" she yelled.

She put her feet on the ground as he backed away, then she blocked a punch from the first with her right arm, before kicking its back. She then blocked a whack from the second with her left arm, before he wrapped his arm around hers, as the first grabbed her right arm.

"Ah!" she grunted.

Nearby, Benagg laughed from behind a bush.

"Huh?" he muttered, turning left.

RIC barked as he ran towards the scene, before he jumped and knocked the first thug off Kat.

"Wha?" she gasped, turning right.

RIC dashed back like a blur and jumped and knocked the second thug away, before it hit the ground.

"Huh?" Kat muttered, turning left.

She looked and saw both thugs were Krybots in disguise as they sparkled. She turned to RIC as he stood in front of her, barking, before she crouched down.

"RIC, thank you." she said, touching his head.

Benagg came out from behind a building, getting their attention.

"Huh?" Kat gasped.

Benagg laughed as she got up.

"Here, puppy?" he dared, moving his claw up and down.

RIC looked at him as his eyes glowed, then he barked.

"No, RIC!" Kat said sternly.

RIC barked and jumped towards Benagg to attack him, who smirked.

"NOOOOOO!" Kat cried loudly, knowing RIC was in trouble.
