"Commander Orria, you are going to leave?" a Rafkonian soldier asked.

"It's true, Lux. I am a Ranger now, and me and my new team are going to confront an old enemy of Rafkon." Orria said. "And unfortunately, they are not the only old enemy of Rafkon that is out there."

"True, they're putting together a new team to confront that enemy as well…but people thought you were going to be a part of that, you're the best among us." The other Rafkonian said.

"People have put me on a pedestal. I'm merely a strong warrior…with a fair share of mistakes under my belt. Other warriors among us are more worthy to take on this new Ranger duty. While it is mine to repay the debt I owe the Dino/Cosmic Fury Rangers." Orria explained.

"I can't imagine anyone else whom would be fit to lead that team, though." Lux noted.

"I know whom is…it's you, Lux." Orria said.

"What?" Lux asked, surprised.

"I have recommended you, Lux, for our new Ranger team. You may say I'm the best, but you have a good track record as a warrior too. You're also bright and positive, people like you." Orria said.

"But…that doesn't make me Ranger material automatically." Lux noted.

"It makes you more of a Ranger then you think." Orria said. "More then me. I'm repaying a debt for a past folly. You…never made those types of mistake. Your open-mindedness, your positivity, your imagination, I feel that's what the team needs." She put her hand on Lux' shoulder. "I believe in you."

"I…" Lux looked a bit overwhelmed but he recomposed himself. "I will not disappoint you, sis…I mean, Commander."

"Lux, it's only us here, none of that 'commander'." Orria said. She then hugged her little brother. "Know that I'm proud of you, little brother. And I know that if mom and dad were still here, they'd be too."

"I'll show you, sis. I'll lead this team to victory against the enemies of Rafkon." Lux said, breaking the hug and puffing up his chest.

"I won't doubt it." Orria assured him. "Now, it will be time to meet your team."

"I'd love to meet them. And I'm curious to see what the arsenal and Zords will be like." Lux said.

"Trains?" Lux asked. He arrived at a Zord hangar which had, indeed giant Trains. "Why?"

"I like trains!" a new person said. She appeared as a humanoid pink rabbit girl. She wore…they would say lab coat but it was not very long, more like a lab-jacket. She had wide hips, a black crop top with a heart and a cartoon steam train with a face, and black stretch pants with white stripes. She had gold-colored eyes, cute buck teeth and goggles. She was chewing on a bag of vegetable chips "I'm Lapi by the way." She wiped her hand on her jacket and held out her hand.

"Er…nice meeting you." Lux said.

"Lapi is one of Billy Cranston's students and your tech support. She is the woman you go to for arsenal, gear and mechs." Orria said. "I am aware she has her quirks, but everything she makes is perfectly functional and capable to stand up to any challenge. Now, let's meet your teammates."

They went into another room, where four other Rafkonians were waiting.

A Rafkonian girl with pink streaks in her short black hair stood up first. "Hi, I'm Rokka. Nice to…" she stood up and headed over to introduce herself and bumped into a coffee table, knocking a glass over that was on there. "Oh, please ignore that." She said shyly.

"I'm Ovyr." Came from Rafkonian man, whom had a sour look on his face and had a green mohawk. He was lying on a nearby couch. "If you need a butt kicked or food is served, call me. Any other time, leave me alone." He said as he yawned and dozed off.

"Commander Orria, it's so wonderful to see you…" a Rafkonian woman said. She had waist-length black hair with blonde tips. She had a bit of a blush on her face. "Oh, good to see you too, Lux. But especially you, Commander. Er…that didn't sound weird?"

"Right…good to see you too, Taryn." Orria noted. "Finally, we have Kobi."

"Hi, nice to meet you. Don't worry about paperwork. I already took care of everything so that you, as our new leader can focus on his other duties." Kobi said as he held a stack of papers. He had curly light brown hair with a few blue highlights.

"Rangers have paperwork?" Lux asked.

"No, but its best to be prepared." Kobi said. "I really like paperwork." He added casually.

"Right…" Lux said. He leaned over to his sister to whisper. "Are you sure…"

"They are eccentric." Orria admitted. "But they are good at what they do. Don't judge a book by its cover."

"Books? Where? I love reading." Kobi said.

Lux sighed. "Well, this is where my positivity has to come in I guess."

"Welcome across the Quantum Galaxy Train. I am Lapi and I'm your conductor and tech whiz. We are on our way to the Toqger Galaxy. The stars are bright, the nebula is glowing and displaying a nice array of colors." The rabbit girl said as she spoke over the intercom. "Count on my robotic assistant Indigo if you need any of your comforts met."

"Hi, I'm Indigo. Nice meeting you." A robot girl using Wagon from ToQger's suit. "Anyone wants a Flargon cake?" she said, holding plates with tiny cakes.

"Er…Thanks, maybe later." Lux said. "Now, we are going over the mission one more time, making sure we are on the same line. So our destiny is on planet Lumina, in the Toqger galaxy. There Rafkonian criminals hide out. No, 'Criminals' is too good. They're fanatics."

"Rafkon used to be run by the house of Nobles, until Rafkon became a democracy, run by an elected council, though the House of Nobles still had a seat. However, it was a single one and the Nobles had little power. Then the Nobles decided that they didn't like how their bloodlines have been pushed into the background and wanted to rule once more. Hence when Dr. Drakkus launched his attack on Rafkon, they manipulated events. They funded the Sporix project…But also secretly sabotaged it. Have the Sporix run wild, get rid of both Drakkus and the Council and rule once more. However, they didn't count on the Sporix going rogue, being uncontrollable and not obeying them. And that's how the great disaster happened." Lux said.

"Kind of hard to comprehend. They did all that, all that damage, all lives lost, just for a bit of power, for their own ego. That sounds horrid." Taryn said.

"People are assholes, deal with it. It's up to us to get rid of them now." Ovyr sighed.

"Can I press my heels into their groin? You know, question of making sure they don't contaminate the gene pool?" Rokka asked…Everyone looked baffled at the cute clumsy girl sounding bloodthirsty yet chipper.

"Er…moving on!" Lux noted. "The Rafkonians spread out of course after the Sporix incident, the Nobles went into deep hiding. Only recently we learned their hand in the incident and where they have been hiding out. And on planet Lumina they are planning to succeed where they failed on Rafkon, establishing themselves as the new ruling body."

"That would not be possible. Not only are their foreign, the very few cases that someone of another planet was inducted in nobility was a honorary title due to a great achievement, which none of them did." Kobi said. People looked at him. "I know a lot of laws. A lot of nice big words and paperwork."

"Yeah, I don't think these nobles care for law. They're insane and would just go about destroy everything until they make the people treat them as leaders." Taryn said.

"But that's where we come in. We are going to be Power Rangers now. We are going to fight them and their forces. We are going to save Lumina." Lux said.

"Behold, evildoers. We have space trains." Ovyr said sarcastically.

"Well, I was weary but after trying out the weapons, I kind of like the weird sword. Very light and easy to wield." Lux said.

"I can claw their eyes out really well with my weapon." Rokka said as she waved her arms excitedly…knocking the cakes into Indigo's face. "Oh, sorry."

"It's ok!" Indigo's visor spawned window wipers and cleared her face up. "Shame about the cakes, though…"

However, the cake remnants had vanished from her plate and floor, and now the normally stoic Ovyr was licking cream of his hands and it was over his face. "What?" he asked.

Lumina…A bright planet. Except for a corner that was covered in thick darkness. In that darkness a palace had risen up. And inside there was a small gathering of monsters. "For eons, we have kept to the shadows, and made our home there." One of them said. He had the suit of Baron Nero. The full suit, not like Cosmo Royale (whom the artist will reimagine at a later date) whom had a different face. Still the plague Doctor-like mask.

"A sad state of events, Baron Nero." A woman said. She looked human, only with pale skill, an old fashioned noble dress, her hair done up in a weird bun-like hairstyle. She had slitted eyes like a cat and fangs like a vampire. She drank a black liquid from a glass. "And the shadows is where we have to stay to survive, as our mods unfortunately makes staying in the light for too long unpleasant. Not that I want to share the light with any of the peasants of this planet."

"Will become a moot point regardless once we cover this planet in the shadows so we can thrive, my dear Renoir." Baron Nero said. "When this world is darkened, the people will only be surviving by submitting to us, and we will rule as our birthrights demand it."

"The Emperor's return takes a bit longer then we wanted to…we'll have to start the campaign without him." Baron Nero said.

"No biggie. It's not like these Lumineans have any protector left. We have the Light Knight in our custody so conquering them would be like taking a shotgun to the pig pen." Renoir drank her glass. "We'll be able to gift a freshly conquered planet to our Emperor. And we'll have extra time to prepare my daughter for her wedding. Isn't that right, my darling Gritta?"

Gritta looked…well, like miss Gritta from ToQger, and she just stood there solemnly. "Yes, mother." She said in a very unenthusiastic tone. However, she perked up when she saw someone else come in.

Two people but she was focused on only one for now. It was General Schwartz. Not just adapted from ToQger, he was also called General Schwartz here because the author didn't think the character needed a rename. "I'm here for the status report, Baron Nero, Madame Renoir."

"Hi General…you look...Your suit looks neat." Gritta said flustered.

"Thanks. I keep it well maintained. Appearances are a huge deal for military." General Scwhartz said. He was seemingly obvious to Gritta's flustered nature and took the compliment.

"Anyhow…" the other person said. He had the appearance of Dark Doctor Mavro. "We have managed to finish the bio-engineering. We now have Shadow Monsters ready to go. I also finished the Shadow Trains to dispatch at any notice."

"Very good, Dr. Dunkel." Baron Nero said. "While I got some satisfaction from cutting down mere peasants, we shouldn't have to dirty our own hands unless absolutely necessary."

"Why the train motif, though?" Renoir asked.

"I like trains?" Dr. Dunkel said as he shrugged.

"I have tested them and they are quite nice as battle machines go." General Schwartz admitted.

"That's fine I guess. Now, the Shadow Monsters…how much were you able…" Renoir asked.

"Well couldn't make them biologically immortal like the Sporix. I have incomplete research. Same reason I wasn't able to give us biological immortality either when I had our bodies modified. But we at least won't age…maybe better this way, if we have an army of monsters, if they turn on us we can at least put them down." Dr. Dunkel replied.

"I guess it's as good as it can get. It will be enough for what we seek to achieve: reclaiming our right to rule." Baron Nero said. "What about our prisoner?"

"Still locked up. Still defiant; Somewhat admirable. He fought with honor, and even in loss he doesn't give up." General Schwartz said.

"Don't compliment him. Light Knight is…pedestrian. A peasant playing hero, whom doesn't understand might makes right. All that potential wasted on fighting for a silly cause like protecting those peasants while he could have put it to better use…serving a noble like us. But of course he's too pig-headed to consider." Renoir said.

"Let him rot in the dungeon, he'll break when we cover the world he fought hard to protect in shadows. In the end we win." Baron Nero said.

In the dungeons, a being resembling Ryo Knight was in a cell. He was the Light Knight, former protector of Lumina. But now he wasn't able to protect his people. He sighed as he had broken his brain countless times for an escape plan and a way to resume his guardian duties.

A hound-like monster (Hound Shadow) was standing outside his cell, keeping guard. Another monster, resembling a cowboy/Desperado came in. "Your shift is over, have a nice evening, Hounder." The cowboy monster said.

"Evening? How can you tell, it is dark in this place all the freakin' time." Hounder said. "Anyhow, have fun babysitting this wannabe superhero, Zaram. Though he's mostly quiet so it will be easy."

"I'll take that in mind." Zaram said. He had brought along a plate holding bread and water. He moved it in Light Knight's cell. "Here, eat something. You may not like it here, and I don't blame you. But at least keep your strength up."

"So I have the strength to be mocked by your masters?" Light Knight asked.

"So you have strength to keep sharp." Zaram said as he sat down in a chair, his feet on the table. He pulled out a harmonica and started playing it. "But you don't have to listen to me. Do with the food what you want, it is not my job to stop you from doing what you want with it."

Light Knight became annoyed. He grabbed the bread roll and threw it into a wall. It was a bit harder and staler then he thought as it shattered…and a key came out. He grabbed it and looked at Zaram. He could still clearly see Light Knight but didn't react. "Like I said, not my job to stop you from doing what you want with your food." He had briefly stopped his harmonica solo.

"Why?" Light Knight asked.

"I'm not sure. I don't think I like what the higher ups do." Zaram said. "By the way, second corridor to the right, follow the corridor, down the stairs is the Shadow train hangar. Use the Drill one, it's the best for escape."

Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

On the surface of Lumina, a monster was sent out, one of Dunkel's Shadow Monsters. Using the image of Bag Shadow, the creature and a group of footsoldiers resembling Kuros went around, terrorizing the people. "Tremble before Baggins, tremble before our Blecks, and tremble before the line of the Shadow Nobles. Your new masters!" the monster shouted.

"Bleck, bleck!" the footsoldiers chanted.

It was then they heard a train whistle. "Huh?" Baggins said as he saw something fly in the sky.

The rainbow colored train rushed by and created a barrier between the forces of the Shadow Nobles and civilians. The train passed the five Rafkonian heroes stood there instead. "Not so fast! These people are under our protection now." Lux said.

"Oh, and who is going to stop me? You five? You see yourselves an obstacle, I see five bags of dead meat." Baggins said.

"Not for long, things are about to get a bit more…colorful." Lux said as he and his teammates held out their new bracelet morphers. They inserted small devices resembling miniature trains inside.

"Please wait behind the line!" a voice sounded as lights on the morphers glowed.

"Where does that voice come from?" Baggins wondered.

"It's Morphin' Time!" the five of them said as they pulled a lever on the morpher.

In a colorful background, colorful trains flew through the air, creating tracks where they went. They circled around the heroes, wrapping them in tracks of their respective color. Lux' was red, Kobi blue, Taryn Yellow, Ovyr Green and Rokka Pink. As the tracks dissolved they formed into suits. The trains turned around rushed into the back of the heroes' heads and formed helmets for them.

"Ranger 1, Lux!"

"Ranger 2, Kobi!"

"Ranger 3, Taryn!"

"Ranger 4, Ovyr!"

"Ranger 5, Rokka!"

"Power Rangers, Quantum Rail!" they said as they posed and colorful explosions went up behind them.

"Time to cut the shadows. Rail Slasher!" Lux pulled out a sword weapon resembling a railroad track.

"Home Trigger!" Kobi pulled out a rail-station shaped blaster.

"Signal Hammer!" Taryn pulled out a Signal light-like hammer.

"Tunnel Ax!" Ovyr pulled out an Axe weapon.

"Bridge Claw!" Rokka pulled out a claw-like weapon.

"Get them!" Baggins said.

"Bleck!" the Blecks said as they rushed forward.

The Rangers and the forces of the Shadow Nobles charged at each other…and that was the first right of many, that would establish the legacy of this new group of Rangers.

NOTES

Another Cosmic Fury aftermath that results in the founding of a team based of an unadapted Sentai

Now, this adapts ToQger. Why? because of the ties of using Madame Noire's suit in Dino Fury. I thought that the Shadow Line could be rogue Rafkonians whom went through similar experimentations.

Don't know what to do with Cosmo Royale yet as he shares a suit with Baron Nero, but I was planning to rewrite Ninja Steel regardless so things may end up differently.

And since Void Queen uses Madame Noire's suit I instead created an expy called Renoir. Still has Noir in the name.

Kuros become Blecks, and Kuro is Japanese for black, so Blecks are obvious.

Since they already called Akudos Gills' counterpart Mavro I renamed the Shadow line scientist Dr. Dunkel (german for dark). Sure I'll write both Megaforce and Super Megaforce as well, but still liked the name change.

And Ryo Knight as a more recurring character appealed to me. Light Knight is a bit simplistic but it rolls of the tongue doesn't it?

And conductor, Ticket and the head of the rainbow line are combined in cute scientific rabbit alien waifu because we can never have enough cute waifus.

FOr most of the team I kind of improvised their characters, the only one I had a clear plan for was Lux and his relation to Orria
