A/N: Still alive somehow.

Leg's getting worse, but I'm still pecking away at things.

Better yet, now I have help in the form of co-writers again~! Several, at that.

Ronin is working on "Remnants of a Shinobi," Slifer is helping with "I'm Still Here" and Dark helps with the occasional bit of betaing when needed.

As ever we're still sticking to the "Embers" rule here, folks. If folks don't like this...well, I won't continue. Every review, every comment, no matter how large or small, keeps me writing in spite of my busy work schedule. I don't get days off anymore, so I try to respond when I can, but lately it feels like this has become a job in and of itself; albeit one I don't get paid for, one that it is often thankless...

No reviews? No inspiration. No inspiration? Sad writer. So speak up! Your words matter! That's no joke!As ever, I own no quotes, references, themes or memes.

As ever, I own no references, quotes, memes or themes. Not a wit or a one. They're merely tributes to those far greater than I.

Bear in mind! This shard is a path that was "pruned" by the Greater Will so to speak.

A fate that never came to be...or did it?

"There are as many paths as there are branches.

As many stories as their stars in the sky.

This is but another."

Take the World

Shabriri considered himself a wise man.

He saw what others could not, did what many would not. He was the embodiment of Chaos, the agent of the new order to come. After all, who else would see the world scoured clean, if not him? So when a Tarnished mad his way to the mountaintop of the giants, wounded maiden in tow, he made him an offer. It was a fair offer...for him. The fool would not know his mistake until it was too late. He would burn, the tree would burn, all of it would burn.

Let Chaos Take the World.

He did not expect the response that came. Indeed, how could he, when faced with such a strange being?

...nice try. Vyke told me all about you. ...I don't like ya, but I'll be taking your hat."

"Never! Let chaos take the worrrrrgh?!

"Funny thing, that...

Shabriri gurgled in surprise as a hand burst out his back. He looked down, alarmed to find the rest of the limb jutting through his impaled body. The arm holding him yanked him closer, and quite suddenly he realized this wasn't a Tarnished at all, but something far, far worse.

"I am chaos." those crimson, cat-like eyes regarded him as though he were naught but an ant. "And I will be taking this world." He could SEE the Frenzied flame in his eyes, broken, tamed, made a beast of burden by something far greater than it. There was something else there in his eyes...and it was then that he knew. How many gods had he devoured...?! "But I won't burn it to the ground. No, I've got other plans. I aim to take it. You won't be around to see that."

The blond tore his limb free, pitched him forward and left him to bleed out in the snow

"...now, goodbye."

The last Shabiri heard wasthe sound of boots crunching away in the snow.

"C'mon, Milicent. Lets go smack some sense into your mother...

A/N: Aaaand scene.

Once more, we're sticking with the "Embers" rule for this particular story, and others.

If folks don't like this, it won't be continued. Meaning that if the story itself ain't popular? POOF! Gone. Completely. I'm working two jobs -might need a third soon!- so I barely have time to write; as such, I cannot afford to write something folks don't enjoy. So by all means, speak up! Your voice matters! Make yourself heard! As ever, reviews are the fuel that sustain me. Without them I cannot write a single word. Simple as that. Working nearly all hours of the day keep me absurdly busy, and I can't bring myself to write something folks don't like.

Aaaand there we go. As ever, reviews keep me alive. Without them, I cannot write. So...in the Immortal Words of Atlas...

...Review...Would You Kindly? And have some previews -potential blot bin things- that I'm working on.

Things that may or may not become stories in the far flung future.

(Previews)

Guess who?

...that is a very big hat."

He could feel her glaring at him beneath it.

You dropped this. Here. Try again."

Morgott caught the blade in one hand with a snarl and whirled away. "Wretched Tarnished!"

"Nope. Not a Tarnished." he spread his arms, grinning under the light of the Erdtree. "You're gonna learn today. Today this ends!"

"Hmm? This? This is my Elden Ring now. You can have it back when your God stops being a prick."

The Elden Beast snarled.

An open palm cracked across what passed for its face.

"Boo-fucking-hoo!" another slap, snapping its long neck to the side. "Get off your ass and stop bullying everyone!"

"And who are you, the proud lord said, that I must bow so low?"

His son squirmed into his side, wriggling with anticipation. "What happened next?!"

Naruto hummed, closed the storybook, then ruffled the boy's golden hair. "That's a tale for another time...

Fia hummed softly and wrapped her arms round them both. "Come now, my dear Lord. Don't torment our child. Finish the story."

R&R~!
