As ever we're still sticking to the "Embers" rule here, folks. If folks don't like this...well, I won't continue something no one likes. Every review, every comment, no matter how large or small, keeps me writing in spite of my busy work schedule. I don't get days off anymore, so I try to respond when I can, but lately it feels like this has become a job in and of itself; albeit one I don't get paid for, one that it is often thankless...

Tamamo opened her eyes.
Her summoning was a sudden thing; she'd accepted on a whim, out of curiosity nothing more.
"Caster this time, hmm...?" she stretched with a yawn. "Fair, I suppose. Now where is...?
She did not expect the body.
A blond man sat atop the ruined corpse of a man -Ryunosuke- looking at her intently, one leg crossed over the other.
Bright blue eyes blinked. Once. Twice. Thrice. He saw her ears. Her tail.
A slow, satisfied smile stretched across whiskered cheeks.
"Well," he chuckled. "Ain't this ironic."
Laughter filled the room.
