Roman regrets these words almost as soon as he says them. He's smarting from his encounter with Gerri, he needs someone to take it out on — is this how Dad felt? — and Connor is the obvious choice. Kendall is still flying high, possibly literally, after his recent successes, and his twintuition tells him Shiv is too broken for there to be any real joy in baiting her. But stupid, deluded Connor with his whore of a wife won't break down or laugh Roman off. Instead, he stands up calmly and says he'll listen to the whore instead of Roman.
Roman considers attacking him physically, like he occasionally did as a child, full on tantrums, kicking Connor in the shins. Connor always responded in the same way, by holding Roman firmly and speaking to him softly until Roman calmed down. How is it possible that this idiotic hippie is related to their father?
Connor walks away before Roman can resort to fisticuffs. Matsson makes a snide remark about families from his seat by the window. Roman briefly imagines pushing him out.
He wishes Connor had hit him, just once. Maybe he should have mentioned his mother.
