My friends, do I have a few things to bring up here. Despite how distracting this week has been, I was glad to at least get this done. Even though it's short, I hope it seems good. Know that after this ep, the next ones for NKS will finally show some "time-skips." Mikka and Leo's surprise, and then 2009.

As for anything else…

To a certain friend's (Alexriolover95's) comment from the last chapter, let me just say: Haha. Don't worry, buddy, the Andrea and Tulio ship is not gonna happen. Especially since I forgot how old Linda and Tulio were suppose to be in 1996, and Andrea, Garrett, and the others are teenagers. So never mind what I put in earlier. Bottomline, this tale will only have Linda and Tulio together, and I'm not gonna show Andrea ending up with anyone (in this fictional universe anyway). Same goes for everyone else except for Rebecca and Garrett, who have already ended up with each other. And on an unrelated note, since you didn't say anything about how you want your OCs to be positioned in my stories, I'm going to assume for now that that means you're okay with me using them still. Thank you.

To another friend's (StormKnight089's) comment from the last chapter, let me just say: That idea does sound cool. While this version of Garrett is different, the Garrett from TGS is a traveller of the multiverse. So throughout his 500 year trip, it would be cool if he met the Universal Knights, and have them be a part of his Multiverse Gang for the Timeless War. But who knows.

Now, before I start with this, I do a couple more exciting things to mention.

One, and I know Alex will be glad to hear this…a while ago and just this week, I think, I finally got to see HACKSAW RIDGE (7/10) and LOGAN (10/10). Again, I don't watch R movies, but I do only try it when they're edited on TV. And the fact that I did that with these films, makes me happy to say…I DID IT! I FINALLY GOT TO SEE TWO GOOD MOVIES I WANTED TO SEE FOR A WHILE! And each of them were good.

Two, I will be making review posts of them on Twitter eventually.

Three, if you guys don't know it, today comes the Mid-Season Finale to My Little Pony: Season 9, and just yesterday came the sequel to one of my favorite franchises yet. Toy Story 4! Man, what are the odds that two of my favorite things would be coming together like this?

Now finally, on with this story. Hope you still love it.

CHAPTER THIRTY SEVEN: ON THE WAY PART 5

The next morning, all the way at one of the city's hotels, Garrett, Rebecca, and all their friends were just all sitting together in the lobby. It was all quiet as there were many other people just walking around and trying to rent a room. The girls and all of their classmates were just in one room and felt that things for them were dull.

Except for Garrett and Rebecca, who were sitting at a table by the front window of the room. They were having a private conversation about what happened the other night and of the big discovery that Garrett made about their feather friends.

"So you still think that's how it would've gone?" Rebecca asked him.

"No doubt. My visions haven't steered me wrong before. Although, I admit it was crazy how all of that information came to me so fast. That's never happened before."

"Really? Well, perhaps it turns out to be different overtime. In fact…how did it feel when you first did it to me? When you first shook my hand and saw a vision of my alternate life?"

"Well…in a way, it was a little scary since that was when I first discovered my powers. And later on, I think seeing it is what made me want to be your friend more."

"Why?"

"Because, I knew you were nice from the start, but I also knew that you had a struggling past like I did. And all you cared about was making the right choices since before we met. So if anything, you're a lot like me, and it makes me happy to be more than just your friend."

"Hmm." Rebecca blushed, and gave Garrett a quick kiss to the cheek before holding his hand. "Thanks."

"No problem. And also, getting back to Blu and Jewel…looking at their, um…'different life' somehow felt like looking at a movie, to be honest."

"What kind of movie?"

"The kind that's funny. Dramatic. And awkward. Really, really awkward."

"Hehe. You know, I'll be honest here, there are times where I feel like you're making this up."

"Oh really?"

"Uh huh. Like if you ever told me we had a big future together, I'd say…" Rebecca herself and blushed massively. So did her boyfriend. "Okay, I think I'm getting a little too personal here." Rebecca chuckled, and Garrett smirked and rubbed her hand with his thumb.

He slowly replied, "You know I can't look into the future, right? Though now that you mention it, I wish I could." He kept smirking and was close to reaching Rebecca's lips. She began to smile, and wanted to kiss him too. Until…the door opened and the bell was loud enough to shock the love duo and turn to see who opened it. Tulio and Dr. Monteiro were the ones that got in and got everyone's attention by having Blu, Jewel, Mikka, and Leo on their shoulders.

"Oh my goodness!" Andrea nearly yelled, and thankfully nobody but the group heard. She, and the other girls, walked up to them as well as a few other friends.

"Hi, guys." Tulio greeted them.

Andrea, "Hi Tulio. How are Blu and Jewel doing?" She asked as she gently pet Blu's neck, which made Jewel feel jealous.

"They're doing great."

Dr. M, "In fact, we came here because we wanted to let you know now that Jewel got her sight back properly, and we'll be returning them to their nest soon."

"Aw, really?" Andrea felt sad, and so did the other girls.

"Yeah. But don't worry, usually they like to come to us and as long as you guys are in town, you're more than welcome to see them. So the least we did was bring them here to you."

"That would be good. Oh, and before you go, would like to meet some friends of ours? They wanted to meet the bird too."

Tulio, "Hmm. Well, as long as the birds and my dad don't mind."

Dr. M, "Not all. Just don't crowd the birds."

Tara, "Yes sir. Come on out, guys."

Then a small group of boys came out. They appeared to be the same age as Garrett and the girls, and we're pretty much one good division of the whole gang.

Ashleigh introduced them, "Tulio, Dr. M. These fine fellers you see here are Vincent, Al, Sam, Matt, Jason, John, and Wes." They all waved, and Ashleigh smiled seeing her best friend Sam blush when she said "fine fellers."

Vincent spoke up, "Hi, sir. Our friends have actually told us about the birds here. You sure you don't mind us seeing them?"

"No." Dr. Monteiro kindly responded and put Blu and Leo down on a table before Tulio did the same with the girls. Then each pair of teenagers took turns to look at the birds, making sure not to crowd them. The only two who didn't join was Garrett and Rebecca, who just smiled seeing their friends.

"They seem to be having a good time." Garrett said.

"Don't you wanna join?"

"You can if you want to. I think they've had their space invaded enough."

"Hmm. In that case, do you maybe want to go outside?"

"Sure? And…do you maybe wanna try that kiss again."

"Why not?"

They blushed and did move outside, and only Blu and Jewel noticed.

"Hmm. Does something about those two seem funny to you?" Jewel asked.

Blu replied, "Maybe. Though, they do kind of remind me of us, don't you think?"

"I guess so. I think what I'm still more focused on is the fact that he's a superhero."

"Same might go for me. But, now about other matters, are you feeling okay?"

"Uh huh. Just keep in mind that I'm not all getting annoyed with you asking me that every twenty minutes." Jewel said in humorous and sarcastic tone.

"Hey, you can't blame your boyfriend for worrying."

"No. But again, I'm fine. Not only do I have my eyesight back but I can also see colors again."

"Well that's good. And…you also feel okay with flying still?"

"Yep, and also, the one thing that I'm always gonna be okay is having my handsome bird look after me. Oh, Blu. I can't imagine what I'd do without you."

Jewel smiled and hugged her boyfriend tightly. Blu enjoyed it and hugged her back, but were unaware of the girls still watching them.

"Awww!" They all went.

Andrea commented, "Aw, they're almost as cute as the baby sea turtles we helped at the beach the other day."

Blu blushed, and Jewel continued teasing him by not letting go of him, which made his head turn red from embarrassment. But admired the attention.

"Man, I kind of feel like a celebrity right now." Jewel thought.

"Hey Jewel, can you let go of me please?" Blu asked.

"Not a chance." Then she kissed his cheek, which made the girls go even more awe about it, and made the boys laugh.

"And I thought Tabitha was the only good kisser in the world?" Jason said to himself.

Jewel, "Here's one thing I do wanna mention. When we get home, can we have something, maybe like a good picnic with Mikka and Leo later?"

"Y-Yes." Blu stuttered, still feeling embarrassed. "What, did you think I wouldn't accept that idea?"

"No. I just wanted to see you shake before I do this." Then kissed the top of Blu's beak which made the crowd go ooh next.

Blu just couldn't handle the attention anymore, so he tried getting out of Jewel's embrace before she started tickling him and then they started playing chase before Mikka and Leo happily joined in.

The kids were laughing and enjoyed what they were seeing. When Nicole looked at them, she laughed too, and Dr. Monteiro came to her and asked, "Excuse me, miss, I just wanted to ask how long will you and your students being staying here exactly?"

"Oh, it'll be for just about another week. Why do you ask?"

"Well, I was just curious considering what happened yesterday at the hospital. I didn't wanna think about what would happen if the kids ran into those hooligans again."

"Oh. Well, I don't think you need to worry. I have a feeling my kids will be safe. Thanks for the consideration, but we have some pretty good protection."

"If you say so. Just know that you and the kids can call us if you need anything." Dr. M smiled, and Nicole was looking over outside to see Garrett and Rebecca still sitting together. They seemed like they were just having a lovely chat, and Nicole of all people really hoped things for them would be okay. Especially after the retirement idea they mentioned yesterday.

Two hours later, the birds were back at their place and did exactly what Jewel requested. She, Blu, Mikka, and Leo were out together between their nests having a picnic. Brazil nuts and berries.

Leo first spoke, "Mm. Thanks for suggesting this, Jewel."

Mikka, "Yeah. After all the excitement we went through, I think we deserve a good break like this."

Jewel, "No problem. By the way, I don't think I ever thanked you guys for trying to help me and Blu."

"That's alright, sweetie. All we really cared about was getting you and our handsome little boy back to safety. I'm just upset that Garrett and those girls seemed to better as acting parents than we were."

Blu, "Hey don't say that. You guys did everything you could. Sure they helped, but I don't think we could've recovered without you, Mom and Dad."

Blu felt like he let that last word slip out, but once Mikka heard it, she had tears of joy come again before she hugged Blu.

"Aw, thank you, Blu."

"You're welcome."

Leo just smiled seeing his friends close like that. Then Jewel asked him, "Hey Leo, are you okay if I mention something with you in private?"

"Uh, not at all."

The scarlet adult and blue chick walked to one part of Blu's nest and spoke to each other quietly.

"Is something wrong, Jewel?"

"No. Nothing's wrong, but I have a question. While I do agree with Blu that you guys have done a lot for us, can I ask, wouldn't it have been a little easier to find us by just flying?" Leo was shocked to hear her ask that but continued listening, and hoped Mikka didn't hear. "I'm assuming you usually don't do that because you're trying to look out for Mikka because she can't fly, but-"

"Jewel." Leo interrupted.

"Yes?"

Leo sighed and slowly said, "Um…look, you sort of have that part right. One of the reasons why I don't fly is because I'm trying to look after my love but the other, and main, reason why I don't do it is because I chose not to. Ever since she got her wing feathers torn deep from that bear trap, we both saw that she could never fly again. So, I realize then that if she couldn't fly, then neither should I."

"Oh. I think I remember you telling us that before."

"Yeah. But either way, you get the idea, right? I do it just to show her that I actually care. Plus, I also keep this vow as a way to punish myself for not looking after her. Like how I wasn't able to look after my new son and you."

"Hey, don't say that. Look, I agree with Blu. What happened to us was not your fault. You did everything you could, and at least you had help finding Tulio before you finally came to us. Thank you for that. And I'll admit, if I didn't have Sophia and Carlos to take care of me after I lost my parents, I would've been happy if you and Mikka wanted me as your daughter."

Jewel smiled and gave Leo a sweet hug, and to which he encouraged after shedding a few tears of joy himself. He felt happy to be a father figure to Blu, and same for Jewel. He knew how Mikka felt. Then once they released the hug, they looked back to see Blu and Mikka happily chatting together.

So Leo said, "Come on. Let's go join the others."

"Sure." Jewel smiled and they continued their picnic, having that feeling once again that things for them would be nothing but fantastic.

After this, comes another scene for "Freedom Fighters", and my "So Long (in Advance)" post.

Also, for the boys that were now just mentioned, you can take a wild guess at who they are based on too (Hasbro Property). On a related note, you know about the new MLP character they introduced in the "Spring Breakdown", Ragamuffin, was it? Well, I recently looked at the cast list, and discovered that the man who played him was Jason Michas, the same guy who played Takua from Bionicle. And what interests me about that is the fact that it proves this statement: "If anyone's in MLP, they'll be in almost every other animated feature." Andrew Francis (Joller and Shining Armor), Tabitha St. Germain (Holly and Rarity), and Jason Michas (Takua and Ragamuffin). They're in MLP and Bionicle, and the others are in almost everything animated. Did you guys know that? I know that's not important to anything but I just wanted to share that.
