Sequel to Circuit of Smiles. Months have passed since Yuji, Ena, along with their counterparts, Yuya and Zuzu put a stop to Roget's plans and saved LINK VRAINS. However, a new mysterious group has come along that plans to eliminate LINK VRAINS Top 10 to take control of SOL Technologies. Can Storm Rider and his friends stop this new enemy without the aid of their counterparts?

Hey everyone, I'm back with Chapter 11. I want to address that most of my posted chapters haven't been reviewed. I know it's your choice to leave a review, but I still want to hear your thoughts on this story.

In LINK VRAINS….

"You can call me Enoch. It's about time you face a real opponent, Storm Rider.

Storm Rider narrowed his eyes, glaring at the young orange-haired man calling himself Enoch. What the... What is this feeling I'm sensing? Why is this familiar? Have I met this individual before? Storm Rider thought.

"I've been watching your duels ever since you obtained the No. 1 spot in the Top 10, hoping for a sign that you would become the opponent I had hoped you would be," Enoch said. "But all you have shown me is that you have not grown; your actions remain predictable, your strength stagnant. Now, I find I have no other choice. It seems that if you are to grow, then you require the proper incentive. So I shall grind you beneath my heel and show you how beneath me you truly are."

Storm Rider grit his teeth. "Kolter," he whispered. "Are you seeing this?"

"And hearing," his friend responded. "Jin's also here with me, too. And we're both getting weird readings from that guy."

Out loud, he said, "You want to duel me? So does that mean you're an ally of Desperado and Umbra?"

Enoch chuckled. "Technically, yes. But I'm more of a lone wolf type of guy."

"Storm Rider!"

He turned to see Playmaker running towards him and the others.

"Playmaker?" Sanctum said, surprised. "What are you doing here?"

"Thought I would give you guys a helping hand," Playmaker answered. "In case you're wondering about the others, they're on the way and should be here shortly."

Esper smiled. "That's a relief."

Playmaker nodded before narrowing his eyes at Enoch. "Who's that?"

"He said his name is Enoch," Sanctum answered. "He said he's been watching Storm Rider duel for weeks and states he can defeat him with no trouble."

"That's a bold statement to make," Playmaker stated. "However, that doesn't mean Storm Rider shouldn't keep his guard up."

Storm Rider frowned. Playmaker's right. He thought. I've underestimated both Umbra and Desperado in my duels with them. So I can't afford to make the same mistake again.

He narrowed his eyes at Enoch. "If you want a duel so badly, you got one!"

"I'm glad you've decided to accept my challenge," Enoch stated, activating his Duel Disk. "But before we begin, why don't we make things more exciting?"

Storm Rider raised an eyebrow as he also activated his Duel Disk. "And what would that be?"

Enoch smirked. He raised his right hand and snapped his fingers. Storm Rider blinked as he felt a slight ripple.

"What the-?"

"What is it, Koter?"

"Yuji… all the channels in LINK VRAINS just changed to show you and Enoch!"

"What?"

At Den City Central Plaza…

Shima blinked as he stared at the screen. Since SOL Technologies prevented anyone from seeing the ongoing event in LINK VRAINS, they didn't know what was happening, but it suddenly changed. It showed Storm Rider and Enoch.

"What is this?" "What happened to the duel?" "Is that Storm Rider?" "Who's his opponent?"

Shima frowned as the crowded street broke out into frantic conversations. What's going on?

Meanwhile, at SOL Technologies…

"What's going on?"

"We aren't sure, sir!"

Akira frowned at the operator. "Is it a virus?"

"Unknown. But it seems that the armored person is the one responsible."

Akira's frown deepened as he looked at the monitor showing Storm Rider and an unknown man.

"Who is he?" Hayami asked. "I don't recognize him."

"Me neither."

Hayami's eyes widened. "You think this young man is a member of the Syndicate?"

"It's the most likely probability," Akira replied, focusing on the screen.

Elsewhere…

"Arthur! Look!"

Walking through the public viewing plaza, Arthur looked up at Sabrina's words. He gasped at seeing what was on the central television.

"Storm Rider?" he said in surprise.

"Indeed," Sabrina confirmed. "But I don't recognize their opponent. Whoever they are, though, they have good taste."

Arthur gritted his teeth. "Let's hope he can easily take out this new opponent."

At an apartment in Den City...

A female with fair skin, long pink hair, lavender bangs, pink eyes, and reddish-pink lipstick. She frowned to herself. "This is unexpected."

"Do you know who he is, Emma?"

She looked over her shoulder. Standing behind her was a male with pink and purple hair with lilac eyes wearing a white shirt and white pants. The two were in an apartment building, watching the news. They were now watching Storm Rider square off against a mysterious opponent.

Emma shook her head. "His avatar ID is Enoch, but I've never heard of him. Whoever he is, though…." She turned back to the TV with a frown. "…I have a very bad feeling about him."

Back in LINK VRAINS…

Storm Rider narrowed his eyes at Enoch. "Why are you broadcasting our duel?" he asked.

"I want all of LINK VRAINS to witness this," his opponent explained. "And I want you to understand the difference in our strengths. You had best come at me with everything you got if you want to at least stand a chance against me, Storm Rider!"

"You're on!" Storm Rider exclaimed. "By taking you down, we'll be one step closer to stopping the senseless violence you're spreading!"

"Duel!"

Both duelists shouted together as one.

Enoch: 4000 LP

Storm Rider: 4000 LP

Storm Rider drew his cards while Enoch swept his hand in front of him. Seeing what he had, Enoch said, "I'll take the first turn. I summon Voidvelgr Hoplites!"

A tall, purple slime-like monster whose body emerged from a black shell with yellow spikes and an eye on its front, holding a shield and a spear in its tentacle hands, appeared.

Storm Rider looked shocked upon looking up at the monster on Enoch's field. "Galaxy? What is this Type?"

"I'm not obliged to tell you," Enoch coldly answered. "Hoplites's effect activates! When it's successfully summoned, I can Special Summon a Level 4 or below Dark Galaxy monster from my hand. Appear, Voidvelgr Globule!"

An eerie, spacecraft-like monster whose main body appeared to be an eye appeared in Attack Position.

Enoch gestured to his field. "Globule's effect activates! When summoned, I can add a "Voidvelgr" Spell or Trap Card from my Deck to my hand." He took a card from his Deck and raised his hand as blue lightning danced across his fingers. "Appear! The circuit that expands the universe!" The Link Portal appeared above him. "Link Arrow authorized! The summoning condition is one Dark Galaxy non-Link Monster. I set Voidvelgr Globule in the Link Arrow!"

Globule became a whirlwind of energy and entered the bottom arrow, turning red.

"Link the Circuit! I Link Summon! Appear! Link-1! Voidvelgr Dark Acolyte!"

A tall, humanoid monster covered in a black cloak emerged from the portal. It had three spindly arms with clawed hands, two on its right and one on its left, its helmet had a crescent moon shape, and its shoulder pads were spiked. Its red eyes gleamed as it was summoned to the left Extra Monster Zone.

Voidvelgr Dark Acolyte ATK 100 LINK-1 ↓

"He could've summoned a Link-2 but instead summoned a Link-1 with 100 attack points," Playmaker mused. "He must want it for its effect."

"I activate Dark Acolyte's effect!" Enoch declared, gesturing to his field. "Once per turn, I can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Dark Galaxy monster from my hand. I Special Summon Shadow Sentinel!"

A purple-armored humanoid riding a large hovercraft of the same color with a sharp blade appeared on Enoch's field in Attack Position at Dark Acolyte's bottom Link Arrow.

"Furthermore, I gain Life Points equal to Shadow Sentinel's attack points."

Enoch: 4000→5500 LP

"I place two cards face-down and end my turn."

Sanctum narrowed her eyes. "So that's why Enoch summoned Acolyte. Not for power, but so he can increase his life points and make long-term preparations for Storm Rider's strategies".

"A simple strategy, but effective," Esper said. "Of course, it won't slow Storm Rider down!"

"My turn! I draw!" Storm Rider looked at his card, then played it. "Since you control monsters and I do not, I can Special Summon Cycode Swordsman!"

The man in cybernetic blue armor wielding two swords appeared in Attack Position.

Cycode Swordsman ATK 1200 DEF 900 LVL: 3

Enoch smirked as he gestured to his field. "I activate the Continuous Trap Card: Dark Seed Planter! Due to its effect, all face-up monsters you control become Dark-attribute. Furthermore, when a Dark-attribute monster you control attacks one of my Dark-attribute Monsters, I can negate the attack."

Storm Rider ignored him and said, "Swordsman's effect activates! When summoned by its effect, I can add a "Cycode" monster from my Deck to my hand." He took a card from his Deck, then played it. "I summon the newly added Cycode Kid!"

A dwarf robot in a shirt appeared.

Cycode Kid ATK 300 DEF 200 LVL: 1

"You're going all out from the start, Yuji?" Kolter asked.

"This Enoch gives me a bad feeling," Storm Rider said, his eyes narrowed. "The longer this drags out, the worse it will be. Appear, my circuit!" Storm Rider's hand glowed blue as the Link Portal appeared. "Link Arrow authorized! The summoning condition is one "Cycode" monster. I set Cycode Kid in the Link Arrow!"

The robotic kid became a whirlwind of energy and entered the right arrow, turning it red.

"Link the Circuit! I Link Summon! Come forth! Link-1! Cycode Architect!"

A man in a digital light brown-gray robed outfit, wielding a staff and book, appeared, summoned to the Extra Monster Zone.

Cycode Architect ATK 700 LINK-1 ↙

"Cycode Kid's effect activates! When this card is used to Link Summon a "Cycode" Link Monster, I can target and destroy one face-up card on my opponent's field! I destroy Dark Seed Planter!"

The Continuous Trap shattered at Storm Rider's words.

"I activate Cycode Architect's effect! Once per turn, I can Special Summon a "Cycode" monster from my hand. I Special Summon Cycode Acrobat!"

A female-like android in a light blue leotard, leg warmers, and arm sleeves with a silver hoop in its right hand appeared next to Updater in Attack Position.

Cycode Acrobat ATK 1700 DEF 1400 LVL: 5

"Acrobat's effect activates! When it is Special Summoned by a "Cycode" card's effect, I can add a "Cycode" card from my Deck to my hand." A card slid out from his Deck, which he then showed to his opponent. "I Special Summon Cycode Serpent!"

A robotic snake appeared in Attack Position.

Cycode Serpent ATK 400 DEF 0 LVL: 1

"I can Special Summon Serpent if it is added to my hand outside my Draw Phase," Storm Rider explained. "Appear once more, my circuit! The summoning conditions are two Cyberse monsters. I set Cycode Architect and Cycode Serpent in the Link Arrows!"

His monsters entered the right and bottom-left arrows, turning them red.

"I Link Summon! Appear! Link-2! Cycode Prismaleon!"

A colorful, rainbow-glowing chameleon with a small glowing orb from the tip of the tail emerged from the portal, summoned to the Extra Monster Zone.

"Prismaleon's effect! Since Acrobat is at its Link Arrow, it gains 600 attack points!"

"Appear for a third time, my circuit! The summoning conditions are two Cyberse monsters. I set Acrobat and Swordsman in the Link Arrows!"

Said monsters entered the left and bottom arrows, turning them red.

"I Link Summon! Appear! Link-2! Cycode Conductor!"

A male humanoid wearing thin dark green full-body armor with a unique visor-like helmet and cape, wielding a pair of long, twin energy wires, emerged from the portal, summoned to Prismaleon's bottom-right Link Arrow.

"I activate Cycode Conductor's effect!" Storm Rider continued. "If I use it to Link Summon a "Cycode" monster, I can banish a monster in my Graveyard to use as Link Material!"

"Oh?" Enoch said, interested. "You're using monsters from your Graveyard to Link Summon?"

"Appear, my circuit!" Storm Rider's hand glowed as the Link Portal appeared for the third time. "The summoning conditions are two or more Cyberse monsters, including one "Cycode" monster. I set Cycode Conductor and Cycode Serpent in the Link Arrows!"

A spectral version of Serpent appeared next to Conductor as they became whirlwinds of energy and entered the left, bottom-left, and right arrows.

"I Link Summon! Appear! Link-3! Cycode Repulse!"

A purple, white armored humanoid with gauntlets and boots that released electrical currents of psychic-like digital energy emerged from the portal at Prismaleon's bottom-left Link Arrow.

"He Link Summoned three monsters in a single turn," Playmaker commented from the side. "It looks like Storm Rider's going all out from the start."

"A Link-3 Monster…" Enoch muttered. "But if you're trying to overpower me, it won't work. Thanks to Dark Acolyte's effect, it can be targeted for attacks and card effects if it points to a monster. And last time I checked, it points to Shadow Sentinel."

"Cycode Repulse's effect activates!" Storm Rider declared, ignoring Enoch. "Since I successfully Link Summoned it, the effects of all your face-up cards are negated!"

Repulse aimed its gauntlets at Enoch and released a wave of blue energy that swept over Enoch's field. He gasped as his three monsters whimpered.

"Furthermore, you cannot activate cards or the effects of cards with the same original name as the negated cards!"

Enoch stiffened. "What?"

"Battle! Cycode Repulse attacks Voidvelgr Dark Acolyte!"

"I activate the Trap Card: Baton of the Hero!" Enoch abruptly declared. "This turn, I select the targets of your attacks!"

"So you had a counter ready, huh…?" Storm Rider muttered. "In that case, Repulse attacks Shadow Sentinel!"

Repulse's gauntlet glowed as it charged Sentinel and slammed it with its fist, destroying it in an explosion and making Enoch wince.

Enoch: 5500→4600 LP

"Ha ha," Enoch chuckled. "Not bad."

"The battle continues!" Storm Rider declared. "Prismaleon attacks Voidvelgr Hoplites!"

Prismaleon lashed its tongue at Hoplites, squeezing it until it exploded and making Enoch wince again.

Enoch: 4600→4000 LP

"When Prismaleon destroys a monster in battle, I can draw one card." Storm Rider drew his card, then played it. "I activate the Spell Card: Cycode Deletion!" The card showed Coder glowing with blue light from the inside. "This card targets one monster on my field and one on your field. Both cards are then sent to the Graveyard!"

Enoch widened his eyes as Dark Acolyte and Prismaleon glowed with light and vanished.

"Perfect!" Sanctum said, excited. "He got rid of Acolyte! Now he can't summon monsters or gain Life Points!"

"Since my monster was a "Cycode" monster," Storm Rider said, "I draw one card. I place a card face-down and end my turn."

"My turn! I draw!" Enoch looked at the card he drew, then played it. "I activate the Spell Card: Cache Upload!" The card showed a hacker trying to create Decode Talker as a real card in the real world. "This card lets me target one Link Monster you control, then draw cards equal to its Link Rating. I target your Cycode Repulse!"

Cache Upload released a green scanning wave, which scanned Repulse from top to bottom.

"Since Cycode Repulse is Link-3, I draw three cards. Next, I summon Dimension Others!"

A black-skinned creature with no eyes or mouth with pink clusters all over its body appeared on Enoch's field.

"Next, I activate the effect of Burstray Gunman from my hand!" Enoch continued. "Since I control a Dark Galaxy monster, I can Special Summon it!"

Following his words, a humanoid with red skin in purple armor wielding blaster-like gauntlets.

Burstray Gunman ATK 1200 DEF 200 LVL: 4

"And when its effect is successful, you take 600 points of damage for every Dark Galaxy monster on my field. I have two, so you take 1200 points of damage!"

Burstray blasted Storm Rider with purple energy, making him wince.

Storm Rider: 4000→2800 LP

"Finally, I can Special Summon a Dark Galaxy monster from my Deck whose attack points are equal or less to the damage you took. I Special Summon Voidvelgr Kataphraktos!"

A humanoid warrior and its stead clad in crimson armor that covered its purple skin underneath appeared in Attack Position next to Burstray. It carried a shield and a spear, and a fiery mane emerged from the back of its helmet.

"When Kataphraktos is Special Summoned while I control a Dark Galaxy monster, I can add a "Voidvelgr" monster from my Graveyard to my hand," Enoch explained. "I add Voidvelgr Globule to my hand. Appear, the circuit that expands the universe! The summoning conditions are two Dark Galaxy monsters. I set Burstray Gunman and Voidvelgr Katphraktos in the Link Arrows!"

The two monsters entered the bottom-left and bottom-right arrows.

"I Link Summon! Appear! Link-2! Voidvelgr Dusk Rider!"

A humanoid warrior and its stead clad in golden armor emerged from the portal at the Extra Monster Zone. The warrior carried a bow in its right hand with three cannons attached to its front, and a fiery mane emerged from the back of its helmet.

"A Link-2 monster!" Storm Rider said in surprise.

Voidvelgr Dusk Rider ATK 1800 LINK-2 ↙↘

"I activate the Spell Card: Cross Linkage Hack!" Enoch continued. "It enables me to draw two cards if I control a non-Link-Monster linked to a Link Monster! Since Dusk Rider points to Dimension Others, I draw two cards. Next, I activate the Equip Spell Card: Voidvelgr Dusk and equip it to Dusk Rider!"

A disk-shaped black hole with orange, blue, and purple energy swirling on its trim appears above the Dusk Rider's head.

"Through its effect, Voidvelgr Dusk increases the equipped monster's attack points by 100 per Level. However, since Dusk Rider is a Link Monster, it gains 500 attack points instead times its Link Rating."

"W-What?" Storm Rider said, his eyes wide with shock.

"Dusk Rider has a Link Rating of two," Playmaker noted.

"So that means it gains 1000 attack points," Sanctum finished.

Voidvelgr Dusk Rider ATK 1800→2800

Enoch gestured to the field. "Battle! Dusk Rider attacks Cycode Repulse!"

The armored warrior aimed its, generating energy from its cannon that blasted Repulse, destroying it. The shockwave struck Storm Rider, knocking him backwards.

Storm Rider: 2800→2400 LP

"I have one attack left. Dimension Others attacks you directly!"

The black-skinned creature's body glowed as a red laser beam shot out.

Storm Rider took a card from his hand and played it. "I activate the effect of the Cycode Battler in my hand! Since I'm being attacked directly, I can summon Battler in Attack Position!"

A robot in shorts, a tank top, and boxing gloves appeared on Storm Rider's field.

Cycode Battler ATK 1500 DEF 700 LVL: 4

Enoch gritted his teeth. "Since our monsters' attack points are equal, there's no point in attacking. But I can do this. I activate the Spell Card: Tribute to the Doomed! By discarding Cards of Compensation from my hand, I can destroy one monster on the field. I choose to destroy your Cycode Battler!"

Following his words, a scary-looking mummy appeared. It then stretched out its arms, shooting out strands of linen that wrapped around Battler before dragging it down inside a portal.

"Card of Compensation's effect activates! I get to draw two cards as I sent it from my hand to the Graveyard." Enoch drew his cards, then said, "I place two cards face-down and end my turn."

"My turn! I draw!" Storm Rider looked at his new card, then added it to his hand and chose a different card. "Since you control monsters and I don't, I can Special Summon Cycode Recon from my hand!"

A human-sized robot appeared, wielding a marksman rifle and wearing light military gear.

Cycode Recon ATK 1200 DEF 1000 LVL: 3

"Since Recon was Special Summoned by its effect, I can add one "Cycode" monster from my Deck to my hand," Storm Rider said. "I add Cycode Dancer to my hand. Now I'll create my circuit!"

Storm Rider raised his hand as it glowed blue and shot a lightning bolt, creating a Link Portal.

"Link Arrow authorized! The summoning condition is one Cyberse monster! I set Cycode Recon in the Link Arrow!"

Masterframe entered the bottom-left arrow, turning it red.

"Link the Circuit! I Link Summon! Appear! Link-1! Cycode Sky Eagle!"

A light green cybernetic eagle-like monster with turbine-like wings appeared in the Right Extra Monster Zone.

Cycode Sky Eagle ATK 300 LINK-1 ↙

"Sky Eagle's effect activates!" Storm Rider continued. "When it's Link Summoned, I can add a "Cycode" monster from my Graveyard to my hand. I return Cycode Swordsman to my hand. Furthermore, since I used Recon as Link Material for the summoning of a "Cycode" Link Monster, I'm allowed to add a "Cycode" Spell or Trap Card to my hand."

A card ejected from his Deck as he grabbed it and placed it in his hand.

"I activate the Trap Card: Cynet Regression!" Storm Rider declared. "As I Special Summoned a Link Monster, one card on the field is destroyed! I destroy Voidvelgr Dusk!"

Following Storm Rider's words, the Equip Spell shattered, and the swirling galaxy above Dusk Rider's head vanished.

"Since Voidvelgr Dusk left the field, Dusk Rider's attack points now return to normal," Enoch stated.

"Cynet Regression's effect also lets me draw a card. Moving on, I summon Cycode Dancer!"

A robotic female in a pink leotard with pink dancing shoed appeared and did a pirouette.

Cycode Dancer ATK 1000 DEF 200 LVL: 2

"Since Dancer was Normal Summoned while I control a "Cycode" monster, I can Special Summon a Level 2 or lower "Cycode" monster from my hand or Deck." A card popped out of his Deck, which he took and placed on his Duel Disk. "I Special Summon Cycode Coder!"

An alien in a lab coat appeared on its field. It carried a laptop under one arm and had small pieces of armor on its shoulders and lower legs.

"Coder's effect continues!" Storm Rider continued. "When this monster is Summoned, I can add one "Cycode" card from my Deck to my hand, but then I must send a card from my hand, Deck, or field to the Graveyard."

Storm Rider took two cards from his Deck. He added one to his hand and sent the other, Cycode Archer, to the Graveyard.

"Now, I'll build my circuit again!"

The Link Portal appeared again above Storm Rider.

"The summoning conditions are two Cyberse monsters, except Tokens. I set Cycode Dancer and Coder in the Link Arrows!"

His monsters became whirlwinds of energy and entered the left and right arrows, turning them red.

"I Link Summon! Link-2! Cycode Binal Sorceress!"

A white robotic-like humanoid monster with silver coating and feet appeared, summoned to Sky Eagle's bottom-left Link Arrow.

"Because I used Dancer to Link Summon Binal Sorceress, it gains 600 attack points!"

"I activate the Equip Spell Card: Overdone Burial! By discarding one monster, I can Special Summon a monster from my Graveyard so long as its Level is lower than the discarded monster's and equip it with Overdone Burial. I discard the Level 5 Cycode Firefighter to Special Summon the Level 4 Cycode Archer!"

A cybernetic monster wearing a patchwork of animal skins appeared. It wielded a silver longbow in its left hand and had a quiver of arrows strapped to its back.

"The monster summoned by Overdone Burial has its effects negated," Storm Rider revealed to Enoch. "Appear again, my circuit!"

For a third time, the Link Portal appeared above Storm Rider.

"Link Arrows authorized! The summoning conditions are two "Cycode" monsters. I set Cycode Sky Eagle and Archer in the Link Arrows!"

His monsters became whirlwinds of energy before entering the left and bottom arrows.

"Link the Circuit! I Link Summon! Link-2! Cycode Administrator!"

A large blue mechanical humanoid emerged from the portal, summoned to Cycode Binal Sorceress's left Link Arrow.

"Not only that, but since I used Cycode Sky Eagle to Link Summon Administrator, its effect activates!" Storm Rider added. "All my monsters gain 400 attack points!"

"Cycode Multiplier allows Binal Sorceress to make two attacks on monsters my opponent controls!" Enoch's eyes widened. "Battle! Binal Sorceress, attack Voidvelgr Dusk Rider!"

Binal Sorceress lobbed a ball of energy at Dusk Rider, but Enoch gestured to his field before it reached.

"I activate my Trap Card!" he declared. "Draining Shield! "Binal Sorceress's attack is negated, and I gain Life Points equal to its attack points!"

The ball of energy struck a barrier, canceling it out as Enoch smiled beatifically.

Enoch: 4000→7400 LP

"You have got to be kidding me..." Storm Rider muttered out of annoyance. "Cycode Multiplier allows Binal Sorceress to attack twice. Go, Binal Sorceress! Attack Dusk Rider!"

Binal Sorceress lobbed another ball of energy at Dusk Rider, destroying it and making Enoch grunt in pain.

Enoch: 7400→5800 LP

"Next, Cycode Administrator attacks Dimension Others!"

Cycode Administrator lobbed a blue orb of energy at the black-skinned creature, destroying it and sending Enoch tumbling back.

Enoch: 5800→4900 LP

"Binary Sorceress's effect activates!" Storm Rider declared, making Enoch look up. " When a monster co-linked with it destroys a monster in battle, you take damage equal to the destroyed monster's attack points!"

"What!?" Enoch gasped.

This time, the white robot-like humanoid fired a golden beam of energy at Enoch, making him raise her arms to protect his face.

Enoch: 4900→3400 LP

Storm Rider gestured to his field. "I activate the effect of Cycode Archer in the Graveyard!" he declared. "By banishing it, one "Cycode" monster I control can make a second attack during the Battle Phase! I target Binal Sorceress! Time to finish this! Binal Sorceress attacks you directly!"

"I activate my Trap Card: Ground Capture!" Enoch abruptly stated. "Since your monster declared an attack, the battle damage is halved!"

Soon, a giant stone hand erupted from the ground and temporarily stopped Binal Sorceress's attack. Unfortunately, it broke through and struck Enoch, sending him skidding backwards.

Enoch: 3400→1700 LP

"Then, since I took 1000 or more points of damage from your attack, I can draw a card!"

"In that case, I end my turn," Storm Rider concluded.

Enoch smirked. "Your tactics are good, Storm Rider. But they cannot possibly match mine. Being able to adapt on the fly in all kinds of situations is all well and good, but well-planned moves are necessary to grasp victory. Without order, everything falls apart in a short amount of time."

"For someone who seems so obsessed with order, you're not doing a good job enforcing it." Storm Rider pointed out. "Because of the Syndicate's actions, LINK VRAINS is in a state of chaos right now. Where's your order in this case?"

"That's merely a transitionary period until we attain the ideal world my leader seeks," Enoch responded. "Chaos is prevalent right now, but we shall end all conflicts forever once our grand plan starts. And through our pacification methods, LINK VRAINS will attain perfection."

"Pacification?" Storm Rider was visibly disgusted. "You dare call attacking innocent duelists pacification? If this is supposed to be the Syndicate's method of bringing order to the world, I will have none! You're selfishly imposing your twisted ideals on the rest of us, but enough is enough! I will win this duel and bring an end to your nonsense!"

"It seems you understand nothing." Enoch had a severe look on his face. "But I suppose that's too much to ask from someone who doesn't think outside the box. Then, if you're saying you'll reject my ideals through this duel, I will also use all of my strength to crush your rebellious spirit that induces chaos! My turn! I draw! First, I activate the Spell Card: Roll of Fate! This card lets me roll a six-sided die and draw cards equal to the result. Afterward, I must banish cards from the top of my Deck equal to that same result. Go, Dice Roll!"

A dice flew out of Roll of Fate and landed on the ground. After it stopped rolling, it eventually stopped at a six.

"Just what I need. Because I rolled a six, I get to draw six cards."

Enoch drew six cards and then removed the top six cards of his Deck from play.

"Next, I activate the Spell Card: Cost Down! By discarding Necro Gardna from my hand, the Levels of all monsters in my hand are reduced by 2 until the End Phase."

"That means he can summon monsters with one less Tribute," Esper said. "This isn't good."

"I summon the now Level 3 Voidvelgr Black Dwarf!"

A small, slime-like monster clad in dark and yellow armor with four green eyes appeared.

"From the empty sky, I invoke the false Avalon of ideals. Now exterminate those who follow the light! I Link Summon! Appear! Link-3! Voidvelgr Dark Star!"

An eerie, spacecraft-like monster whose main body appeared to be an eye emerged from the portal. Three triangle-shaped drones were attached to it by an invisible link, two on its sides and one under it. The "eye" was a bright crimson with a black, slitted pupil and a white dot in its center, while its drones were silver with purple accents, and the ones on its sides sported futuristic black guns as it was summoned to the Extra Monster Zone.

"D-Dark Star?" Sanctum said, her eyes wide with surprise at such a monster.

Storm Rider's eyes widened. "What?"

"I equip Binal Sorceress to Dark Star. Ideal Darkness!"

The white dot in Dark Star's pupil glowed brightly as Binal Sorceress gained an eerie aura before disintegrating, only for its card to reappear on Storm Rider's field.

"When equipped with your monster, Dark Star gains 700 attack points and becomes unaffected by your card effects."

Voidvelgr Dark Star ATK 2300→3000

"I activate the Spell Card Offerings to the Doomed! I skip my next Draw Phase to destroy your Cycode Administrator!"

A dark circle appeared around Administrator, out of which bandages wrapped around him completely and pulled him down into the Graveyard.

Enoch gestured to his field. "Battle! Dark Star attacks you directly! Ballistic Barrage!"

Dark Star's blasters released streams of purple energy, which broke into smaller streams as they rained down on Storm Rider.

"I activate the effect of Cycode Firefighter in my Graveyard!" he declared. "By banishing it from my Graveyard and halving my Life Points, your direct attack is negated!"

A barrier formed around Storm Rider, which blocked the energy beams but then winced from the cost of Firefighter's effect.

Storm Rider: 2400→1200 LP

"You truly embody tenacity, don't you?" Enoch grinned. "Well, that suits me just fine since I can enjoy myself even more here. I place two cards face-down and end my turn."

"My turn!" Storm Rider announced. "I draw! Since I control no monsters, I can Special Summon Cycode Swordsman!"

Cycode Swordsman ATK 1200 DEF 900 LVL: 3

"Since Swordsman was Special Summoned by its effect, I can add Cycode Masterframe from my Deck to my hand," Storm Rider continued. "Appear, my circuit!" Storm Rider's hand glowed blue as the Link Portal appeared. "Link Arrow authorized! The summoning condition is one "Cycode" monster. I set Cycode Swordsman in the Link Arrow!"

Cycode Swordsman became a whirlwind of energy and entered the right arrow, turning it red.

"Link the Circuit! I Link Summon! Link-1! Cycode Apprentice!"

A young mage in digital orange and gray hooded magician robes, wielding a small wand lit in flames, emerged from the portal, summoned to Extra Monster Zone.

He drew and looked at his card, causing him to smile.

"I drew Cycode Engineer, which means I can summon it!"

A robot in workman's clothes and a hardhat carrying a power drill in one hand and a calculator in the other appeared next to Storm Rider's other monsters.

Storm Rider's monsters became whirlwinds of energy as they entered the left, bottom, and right arrows.

A monster that resembles Gaia the Fierce Knight, but his body is merged with a robotic horse with digital wings, appeared in the Extra Monster Zone. He wielded digital energy light brown lances.

"Engineer's effect activates!" Storm Rider continued. "When it is used to Link Summon a "Cycode" Link Monster, I can destroy one set card in your Spell & Trap Zone!" Storm Rider pointed at one of Enoch's face-down cards. "I'll destroy the card on the right!"

A ghost of Engineer appeared as he charged towards the face-down with his drill ready.

"Sorry. But I'm one step ahead of you!" Enoch interjected. "I activate the Trap Card: Card of Pandora! When you target a card in my Spell & Trap Zone with an effect, that effect is changed to target Card of Pandora instead!" The Trap Card shattered. "Card of Pandora's second effect lets me draw two cards."

Storm Rider frowned as Enoch drew. "I see. So you were prepared for me to target your face-downs?"

"Indeed I was," Enoch answered.

"You may have escaped Engineer's effect, but you won't escape Gaia," Storm Rider stated. "I activate Gaia Charger's effect! By Tributing a monster next to its Link Arrow, it gains half of its attack points until the end of the turn. I Tribute Cycode Strider!"

Masterframe disintegrated into particles and entered Gaia's body, causing him to glow gold.

"Next, I activate the effect of the Cycode Multiplier in my Graveyard!" Storm Rider continued. "By banishing a "Cycode" monster, I can equip it to a "Cycode" monster I control. I banish Cycode Coder and equip Multiplier to Gaia Charger." He narrowed his eyes. "The monster equipped with Multiplier can make two attacks against your monsters during each Battle Phase. Battle! Gaia Charger attacks Voidvelgr Dark Star! Linkage Spiral!"

"Dark Star's effect!" Enoch declared. "If your card would destroy it, I can destroy a card equipped to it instead! I destroy Binal Sorceress!"

Gaia's lances impacted Dark Star, only for the frozen-over Spell Card behind it to shatter and Enoch to flicker.

"Since Binal Sorceress is no longer equipped to Dark Star, its attack points return to normal."

Storm Rider smirked. "This next attack will finish you. Cycode Multiplier allows Gaia Charger to attack twice! Go, Linkage Spiral!"

Enoch gestured to his field. I activate the Trap Card: Link Booster!" The card showed Linkuriboh with determined eyes and a shadow of Decode Talker hanging over it. "By banishing a Link Monster from my Graveyard, one monster on my field gains attack points equal to that monster's Link Rating times 500. I banish Dusk Rider to increase Dark Star's attack points by 1000!"

Voidvelgr Dark Star ATK 2300→3300

"But you still take damage!"

Gaia charged again towards Dark Lance, piercing its core with its lance, destroying it in an explosion and making Enoch flicker again.

Enoch: 1250→1100 LP

"This duel is over, Enoch," Storm Rider said. "You have 1000 Life Points. Gaia Charger's effect allows it to attack twice. Gaia Charger, attack Enoch directly!"

"I activate the effect of Necro Gardna from my Graveyard!" Enoch declared. "By banishing it, I can negate your attack!"

A transparent image of a warrior dressed in grey, maroon, and black armor with long white hair appeared before Enoch and blocked Gaia Charger's attack before vanishing.

"Sorry, but it's not over yet!"

Storm Rider grit his teeth. "I end my turn, meaning Gaia's attack points revert to normal."

Cycode Gaia Charger ATK 3450→2600

"Storm Rider destroyed Enoch's Link-3 monster," Esper remarked. "Looks like he has the advantage now."

"While that is true, you must remember that his opponent still has Life Points," Playmaker said.

Enoch smirked. "Your performance in the previous turn was quite impressive. As expected, I shouldn't have underestimated your strength. It's my turn! Because of Offerings to the Doomed's effect, I can't draw. However, I activate the Spell Card: Final Offguard! As my Life Points are lower than yours and you're the only one with a monster Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, I can draw two cards."

Enoch drew and smiled at his cards. "I activate the Ritual Spell Card: Voidvelgr Ritual!"

"What?" Storm Rider gasped. "Ritual?!"

The card showed Hoplites, Globule, Peltast, and Kataphraktos surrounded by a magical blue circle that resembled a swirling galaxy. "With this card, I can Tribute monsters from my hand or field whose combined Levels equal or exceed that of a "Voidvelgr" Ritual Monster in my hand!" Enoch's smirk widened. "However, if you control a monster in the Extra Monster Zone while I have no monsters on my field, I can also banish "Voidvelgr" monsters in my Graveyard! I banish the Level 4 Hoplites and the Level 3 Kataphraktos from my Graveyard!"

A swirling galaxy appeared on Enoch's field. Hoplites and Kataphraktos reappeared before bursting into purple and crimson light as they entered a magical circle in the galaxy's center. The circle lit up and created a pillar of blue light.

"From the empty sky, I awaken an army of clouds. I Ritual Summon! Appear now, Voidvelgr Hecatoncheir!"

A bipedal dragon with a mechanical design, possessing four arms, a spiked tail, and two wings with no membranes, emerged from the portal and appeared on Enoch's field.

"Ritual Summoning?" Sanctum said in surprise. "He uses that method?"

"You know how to Ritual Summon?" Storm Rider said in surprise.

Enoch scoffed. "But of course. While some still use it today, most see it as an outdated form of summoning. I might use Link Monsters sometimes, but my Deck's greatest strength is my Ritual Monsters. And I'll use their power to crush you! I activate Voidvelgr Hecatoncheir's effect! When this card is Special Summoned successfully, I can send the top five cards from my Deck to my Graveyard, and for every Dark Galaxy monster, I can destroy up to that many cards on your field. But if I get a "Voidvelgr" monster among them, I can banish those cards instead! Let's do this!"

Enoch drew five cards, checked them and sent them to the Graveyard.

"Two of the sent cards were Dark Galaxy monsters. One of them being Voidvelgr Meteon," Enoch stated. "Therefore, I can banish up to two cards! I banish Gaia Charger! Antimatter Shot!"

Following Storm Rider's words, the wings on Hecatoncheir's back generated a bolt of golden-colored electricity that vaporized Gaia.

"Now, it's time to end this! Battle! Hecatoncheir, attack Cycode Gaia Charger! Doom Satellite!"

Storm Rider gritted his teeth before taking a card from his hand. "I activate the effect of Cycode Defender in my hand!" he declared. "Since you attacked me directly, I can Special Summon Defender and make it the target of your attack!"

A digital warrior wearing a black and gray armor suit with pink circuit lines with armor with two large shields appeared in Defense Position.

"Not only that but Defender also can't be destroyed in battle once per turn!"

Hecatoncheir crossed its four arms, generating an orb of energy that shot forward and struck Defender's shields, but they held firm.

Storm Rider narrowed his eyes. "Do you have anything else for me, Enoch?"

"I suppose these results are satisfactory for now," Enoch said. "I place one card face-down and end my turn."

"My turn!" Storm Rider announced. "I draw! I activate the Spell Card: Cycode Core! It lets me Special Summon a "Cycode" monster with a Level from my Graveyard in Defense Position with its effects negated. Return, Masterframe!"

The hacker-like human reappeared.

His monsters became streams of blue energy and entered the bottom-right and bottom-left arrows.

A beautiful maiden with blonde hair wearing a cybernetic white nun-like outfit with a yellow lining resembling circuit boards appeared in the Right Extra Monster Zone. A light blue visor with a blue energy halo over her head.

Sanctum's eyes widened. "That's-!"

"Since the monster Special Summoned by Cycode Core was used as Link Material, I get to draw a card."

Storm Rider drew his card, then gestured to his field. "I activate Cycode Soul's effect from my Graveyard! I can Special Summon a "Cycode" monster from my Graveyard by banishing it! Return, Cycode Acrobat!"

The female-like android in a light blue leotard holding a silver hoop in its right hand reappeared next to Strider in Attack Position.

"Acrobat's effect activates! When it is Special Summoned by a "Cycode" card's effect, I can add a "Cycode" card from my Deck to my hand. Next, Cycode Priestess's effect activates! I banish Cycode Deletion from my Graveyard to add a "Cycode" Spell Card from my Deck!"

A card ejected from Storm Rider's Duel Disk as he took it and placed it in his hand.

"Since you showed me your full power, it's only fair I show you mine. I activate the Ritual Spell Card: Cycode Ritual!" The card showed Cycode Priestess raising her staff as swirls of cybernetic energy formed around her.

"A Ritual Spell?" Enoch repeated, shocked.

"With this card, I Tribute monsters from my hand and field whose total Levels equal or surpass the Level of a Cyberse Ritual Monster that I'm Ritual Summoning from my hand! I Tribute the Level 5 Cycode Acrobat and the Level 3 Cycode Nova in my hand!"

A futuristic magic circle appeared on Storm Rider's field. A small robotic dragon with metallic armor with silver wings appeared alongside Acrobat. Seven pillars erupted around the circle as the two monsters disintegrated into data t that entered the circle's center.

"The contract has been made!" Storm Rider chanted. "The dark sage who wields the power of space and time inherits these two souls! I Ritual Summon! Rise! Level 7! Cycode Warlock!"

A man with pale skin, yellow eyes and dark silver hair emerged from the portal. He wore a deep blue robe glowing light purple with blue lining resembling circuit boards across his outfit. He wielded a large, mechanical-like wand with a blue orb on the tip that leaked out energy.

"Oh, that's an impressive monster, Storm Rider," Enoch said, smiling in excitement at the monster Storm Rider summoned. "But it doesn't matter how impressive it is; my monster's stronger!"

"Are you sure about that?" Enoch's eyes widened in uncertainty as Storm Rider gestured to his field. "Battle! Cycode Warlock attacks Voidvelgr Hecatoncheir!"

Cycode Warlock swung his staff and charged Enoch's monster.

"Cycode Warlock's effect activates! If it battles a Special Summoned monster, your monster's effects are negated, and its attack points are halved until the end of the Damage Step!"

Enoch gasped as Hecatoncheir was weakened.

Voidvelgr Hecatoncheir ATK 2600→1300

"Not only that but all battle damage you take involving "Cycode" monsters is doubled," Storm Rider added.

"That means if this attack connects, Enoch will lose," Esper said.

"Hold on a sec!" Enoch exclaimed. "I activate the Trap Card: Mirror Shade! I take no battle damage this turn by paying half my Life Points!"

The attack continued and destroyed Hecatoncheir, but Enoch didn't feel the force of the attack.

Enoch: 1100→550 LP

"And now, the effect of the destroyed Voidvelgr Hecatoncheir in my Graveyard activates! Since it was destroyed, I can Special Summon a "Voidvelgr" monster from my Deck. Appear, Voidvelgr Transi!"

A bipedal dragon with a mechanical design emerged from a portal that appeared on the ground. It wore thick, blocky dark armor adorned with pink orbs and blue accents. Its two wings were segmented into coffin-like shapes, and the monster held a long spear in its right hand.

Enoch gestured to his field. "I activate Transi's effect! When it's Special Summoned, I can add a "Voidvelgr" monster or a "Voidvelgr" Spell or Trap Card from my Deck to my hand. I choose to add a Spell to my hand!"

Enoch took the card from his Deck and smirked. "Looks like you still have a long way to go before taking me down, Storm Rider."

Storm Rider gritted his teeth and looked at his hand. " I activate the Spell Card: Link Treasure Ticket! This card lets me draw cards equal to Priestess's Link Rating, but then I must send an equal number of cards from the top of my Deck to the Graveyard."

He drew two cards and then sent two cards to the Graveyard.

"I set three cards face-down and end my turn."

"Then, it's my turn!" Enoch announced. "I draw! You have proven yourself to be quite the resourceful and tenacious opponent, Storm Rider. As such, you'll make the perfect test subject for a power I've obtained but never had a chance to utilize. Most of my duels haven't lasted half as long as this one."

"I'm not sure I like the sound of that…." Storm Rider let out a lop-sided smile. "And to think that you've taken down most of your opponents in four turns or less, I can only describe your strength as monstrous…."

"I'll take that as a compliment," Enoch smirked. "I activate the Spell Card: Card of Demise, whose effect allows me to draw cards until I have five in my hand. However, during my fifth Standby Phase, I must send all cards in my hand to the Graveyard. Next, I summon Voidvelgr Globule!"

Voidvelgr Globule ATK 0 DEF 1300 LVL: 3

Enoch gestured to his field. "Globule's effect activates! When summoned, I can add a "Voidvelgr" Spell or Trap Card from my Deck to my hand." He took a card from his Deck. "From there, I activate the Ritual Spell Card: Void Ritual, Tributing Transi and Globule on my field to Ritual Summon!"

The circle reappeared. Eight flames appeared around the circle before the two monsters disintegrated as their data entered it, making it shoot a beam of light at the sky.

"From the empty sky, I call forth a wandering warrior's regrets! I Ritual Summon! Rise! Voidvelgr Requiem!"

A bipedal dragon with a mechanical design, its silver and gold armor adorned with pink spikes and accents, appeared on Enoch's field in Attack Position. It had two segmented wings and carried a double-sided spear in one of its hands.

Sanctum frowned. "Should've known he would add another copy of his Ritual Spell."

"Hopefully, Storm Rider can survive whatever this monster can dish out," Esper said.

"Requiem's effect activates!" Enoch declared. "When it's summoned, all your monsters are changed to Defense Position!"

Requiem let out a resounding roar that forced Cycode Warlock into Defense Position.

"I activate the Equip Spell Card: Voidvelgr Tyrfing!" Enoch continued as a large ruby sword appeared in Requiem's other hand. "This card can only be equipped to a "Voidvelgr" monster, with its effect increasing its attack points by 400 and allowing it to inflict piercing battle damage."

"Now, let's see how you'll escape from this bind," Enoch stated. "Battle! Voidvelgr Requiem, attack Cycode Warlock! Cosmo Burst!"

Storm Rider raised an eyebrow. "Did you forget about Warlock's effect? It'll halve Requiems attack points, causing you to lose!"

"I didn't forget anything," Enoch stated. "I activate the effect of Voidvelgr Meteon in my Graveyard! When you activate a card effect while I control a Dark Galaxy monster, I can negate that effect and banish it!"

Storm Rider's eyes widened as a dark haze enveloped Cycode Warlock, causing him to disappear.

"Furthermore, since the banished card was a monster, you take damage equal to half of its attack points!"

"What?"

Requiem's spear became coated in dark energy, which it threw at Storm Rider, but before it hit-.

"I activate the Counter Trap Card: Cycode Defense!" he abruptly declared. The card showed Cycode Defender in front of a duelist, blocking a blast of white energy with its shield. "Since I control a "Cycode" monster or have one in the Graveyard, I can halve the damage I take from Meteon's effect!"

A barrier appeared in front of Storm Rider, and while it stopped the lance temporarily, it managed to break through. He winced as the lance struck him in the chest.

Storm Rider: 1200→575 LP

"Storm Rider!" Sanctum cried out in worry.

"Cycode Defense has a second effect. It allows me to return a banished card to its controller's Graveyard. I return Cycode Soul to my Graveyard!"

"You may have survived this, but you're only delaying the inevitable," Enoch remarked. "A replay now occurs, and Requiem attacks Cycode Priestess!"

"I activate the Trap Card: Link Showdown!" Storm Rider suddenly said. The card showed Decode Talker clashing with Gouki the Great Ogre in an arena. "When a Link Monster I control battles a monster my opponent controls with higher attack points, my monster gains attack points equal to its Link Rating times 500! Since Priestess' Link Rating is 2, it gains 1000 attack points!"

Cycode Priestess ATK 1200→2200

"Furthermore, I activate the Trap Card: Cycode Half-Guard! By discarding Cycode Illusionist from my hand, all battle damage I take is halved!"

Requiem leaped forward at Priestess, its sword held high. It brought the sword down on the Cycode Link Monster and sent Storm Rider tumbling to the ground due to the force of the ensuing explosion.

Storm Rider: 575→75 LP

Sanctum breathed a sigh of relief. "That was too close."

"Storm Rider's opponent is really strong," Esper noted.

"Since the Battle Phase ended, Half-Guard lets me draw one card for every monster of yours that battled this turn."

Enoch narrowed his eyes as Storm Rider drew one card. "Why don't you give up? You put up a good fight, but there's no point in delaying the inevitable now, is there?"

"As much as I don't want to admit it…it seems like it…." Storm Rider lowered his head. "I…"

"Storm Rider!"

He gasped and turned his head. It was Blue Maiden, Soulburner, Gore and Roselyn! The quartet had turned around the corner, and their eyes went wide as they took the field in. Their eyes narrowed as they saw Enoch.

"Just great," Enoch scoffed. "More interruptions." He pressed a button on his Duel Disk, generating a force field around them. "This field was designed to keep anyone from interfering." He then narrowed his eyes at Storm Rider. "It looks like you were able to withstand yet another assault that should have surely finished you off. But merely surviving won't allow you to win this duel. I place two cards face-down and end my turn."

Even if I managed to survive, I am at a disadvantage, Storm Rider thought. I have 75 Life Points left, and I don't know what his face-down cards could be. He gritted his teeth. But I promise to protect LINK VRAINS! All I can do is give it my all!

"My turn! I draw!" Storm Rider looked at his card, then gestured to his field. "I activate the effect of Cycode Knight from my Graveyard! By banishing it, I can shuffle five "Cycode" monsters from my Graveyard back to my Deck to draw two cards. I shuffle Cycode Recon, Kid, Acrobat, Battler and Dancer into my Deck!"

Enoch narrowed his eyes. "He must've sent that card to the Graveyard through Treasure Ticket," he muttered.

Storm Rider took the cards from his Graveyard, then drew.

"I summon Cycode Sorceress!"

A mechanical female humanoid in a black dress carrying a metal staff appeared on Storm Rider's field.

"Sorceress's effect activates! When she's Normal Summoned, I can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower "Cycode" monster from my Graveyard in Attack Position. Return to me, Cycode Strider!"

Strider reappeared on Storm Rider's field next to Sorceress.

"And since I Special Summoned Strider, I get to check the top card of my Deck to see if it's a monster. I draw!"

He drew and looked at his card, causing him to smile. "I drew Cycode Lancer, which means I can summon it!"

The monster that appeared was a grey robotic warrior. It wore a white chest piece and white leg guards. Its arms were mechanical and grey, as well as its lance and shield.

"Cycode Lancer's effect! So long as it's in face-up Attack Position, all "Cycode" monsters I control gain 300 attack points! Digital Charge!"

A large male humanoid in blue armor appeared. The man also wore a cape made of digital energy and wielded a massive white energy blade.

"Now, it's time for the main event!" Storm Rider declared. "I build the ultimate circuit!" The Link Portal appeared. "Link Arrows authorized! The summoning conditions are two or more monsters. I set Cycode General, Sorceress, Lancer and Strider in the Link Arrows!"

Storm Rider's monsters entered the top, left, right, and bottom arrows.

"The new wind that flows throughout this world gives the mighty creature that connects the past and future! I Link Summon! Appear, Link-4! Cyber Tech Link Dragon!"

The dragon that emerged from the portal had a blue body, white and yellow lining, and silver claws. It also had a spiral-like tail and jet-like energy wings with white and blue-lining eyes like a circuit board. Two large horns on its head faced forward, with a smaller one on the back of its head. Three small spikes that resembled claws were placed on the "elbow" of the wings. The dragon's red eyes glowed as it released a powerful roar from the Right Extra Monster Zone.

"Cyber Tech Link Dragon..." Enoch muttered. "So you bring out the beast that serves a false god such as yourself at last. If you intend to finish this duel, you'll have to do it with full force! I will accept nothing else!"

"You seem enthusiastic all of a sudden, to the point where you're starting to creep me out…." Storm Rider muttered but then addressed Enoch. "Very well, just like you wished, I'll have you experience my full power! First, by banishing Cycode Soul from my Graveyard, I can Special Cycode Illusionist from my Graveyard!"

Following Storm Rider's words, a robot in a tuxedo and top hat carrying a wand appeared on his field in Defense Position.

Cycode Illusionist ATK 2400 DEF 1000 LVL: 6

"Since you seem so fond of taking my cards, allow me to repay the favor!" Storm Rider shouted. "I activate Cyber Tech's effect! Once per turn, by Tributing a monster it points to, I can take control of a Special Summoned monster on your field! As such, I'll be taking your Voidvelgr Requiem!"

"That's what you think." Enoch sneered. "I activate the Trap Card: Breakthrough Skill! This card lets me target a face-up effect monster you control and negate its effects until the end of the turn. I target Cyber Tech Link Dragon!"

Breakthrough Skill then glowed and greyed out Cyber Tech in the process, much to Storm Rider's dismay.

"In that case, I activate the Equip Spell Card: Link Armaments and equip it to my Link Monster!" The armor on Cyber Tech's body turned silver and made it roar. "Thanks to this card's effect, Cyber Tech Link Dragon gains 500 attack points for each Link Monster in my Graveyard. There are currently ten Link Monsters in my Graveyard, so my dragon gains 5000 attack points!"

Cyber Tech Link Dragon ATK 2500→7500

"Now, the finale!" Storm Rider exclaimed. "Battle! Cyber Tech Link Dragon, attack Voidvelgr and finish this! Digitized Burst Stream!"

Cyber Tech's orbs glowed with energy before releasing a blue-colored energy stream, heading straight for Requiem.

"I activate the Trap Card: Defense Draw!" Enoch abruptly declared. "Battle damage becomes 0, and I can draw a card from my Deck!"

The massive wave of blue energy engulfed the Voidvelgr Ritual Monster, destroying it. However, Enoch was unaffected as a semi-transparent dome appeared around him.

"Are you kidding me…?" Sanctum muttered with evident shock. "Even that was not enough to defeat Enoch?"

"Since it was destroyed, Voidvelgr's effect activates!" Enoch stated. "Thanks to it, I can Special Summon one "Voidvelgr" monster from my Graveyard in Defense Position. Return to me, Voidvelgr Transi!"

Voidvelgr Transi ATK 2400 DEF 2000 LVL: 5

"And thanks to Transi's effect, I can add a "Voidvelgr" monster or a "Voidvelgr" Spell or Trap Card from my Deck to my hand. This time I choose to add a "Voidvelgr" monster to my hand!"

Storm Rider narrowed his eyes. "I place a card face-down and end my turn."

"Then, it's my turn!" Enoch announced. "I draw!"

Enoch's pressure seemed to intensify upon checking out his drawn card, causing sweat on Storm Rider's forehead.

Here it comes… Storm Rider thought. I don't know what he's drawn, but he intends to settle things with it. The outcome of this duel will be decided here for sure!

He gestured to his field. "I activate the Trap Card: Parallel Port Armor! This card equips itself to Cyber Tech Link Dragon!" A light briefly shone around the Link Monster. "While Parallel Port Armor is equipped, Cyber Tech cannot be destroyed by battle or targeted by your card effects. Furthermore, since my dragon is equipped with Link Armaments, it can't be destroyed by card effects either."

"Can't be targeted or destroyed by card effects," Playmaker noted. "That means Enoch can only destroy it by battle."

"Which is impossible since Cyber Tech has 7500 attack points," Esper stated.

"Meaning on Storm Rider's next turn, he'll win," Sanctum said.

Enoch smirked. "Seeing as you were so kind as to show me your trump card, it's only fair that I show you mine in return. First, I activate the Spell Card: Card of Burial Magic, banishing Cross Linkage Hack, Final Offguard, and Cards of Compensation to draw two cards!"

Enoch proceeded to draw two more cards. "I activate the Spell Card: Level Wing! It increases my Voidvelgr Transi's Level by 3!"

Voidvelgr Transi LVL: 5→8

"Moving on, I activate the Spell Card: Ritual Replication!" The card showed Djinn Releaser of Rituals and Djinn Prognosticator of Rituals standing back-to-back, Releaser's staff raised above them and glowing. "Thanks to its effect, I can target one Ritual Spell Card in my Graveyard, banish it and apply its effects if there's an appropriate target!"

"What!?" Storm Rider cried out in shock. "You're using a Ritual Spell from the Graveyard!?"

"That's right!" Enoch announced. "I banish Voidvelgr Ritual from my Graveyard to perform a Ritual Summon. I Tribute the Level 8 Voidvelgr Transi from my field!"

A dark circle with eight purple orbs appeared on Enoch's field before Transi broke apart into particles that went into the orbs, lighting them up. Then a pillar of light erupted from the circle,

"From the empty sky, I invoke the promised paradise of oblivion. I Ritual Summon! Come forth! Voidvelgr Elysium!"

A bipedal dragon covered in dark and yellow armor adorned with pink orbs and accents all over its body. Two arc-shaped wings were attached to its back, which emitted electricity.

"A Level 8 Ritual Monster with 3000 attack points?" Esper said in surprise.

Sanctum stared at the monster and then clutched her chest. This monster… radiated power in a way that she hadn't felt before.

"Voidvelgr Elysium, huh…?" Storm Rider narrowed his eyes at the new monster on the field. "Even though it's weaker than Cyber Tech, I can't help but get chills just by looking at it."

"Your instincts must be pretty sharp if you can already tell that this monster is dangerous," Enoch stated. "Elysium's effect activates! When this card is Ritual Summoned, I can destroy all monsters you control! Orbit Eraser!"

Elysium's wings spread as they generated electricity and unleashed a violet-colored blast that destroyed Cycode Illusionist.

"Now, I believe the time has come to settle this duel once and for all!" Enoch exclaimed. "I activate the Spell Card: Negative Energy Generator! This card lets me target a Dark Attribute monster, like my Voidvelgr Elysium and triple its attack points!"

Following Enoch's words, Elysium became enveloped by a golden aura, roaring as its strength increased.

Voidvelgr Elysium ATK 3000→9000

"9000 attack points!?" Storm Rider cried out in shock. "But this means…!"

"It means it's over!" Enoch declared. "While Cyber Tech cannot be destroyed by battle, you'll still take the damage, Storm Rider! Finish this, Voidvelgr Elysium! Universal Judgement!"

Elysium shot upwards as torrents of electricity surrounded its body and its wings expanded once again, generating golden energy in its maw before firing it at Storm Rider's Link Monster. While Cyber Tech Link Dragon withstood the attack, the energy beam moved onto Storm Rider, who couldn't help but scream as he was sent flying.

"Storm Rider!" Sanctum screamed.

Storm Rider landed painfully on his back with a gasp. He gasped for breath as his eyes struggled to stay open. "I… I lost. I… I'm sorry, everyone."

Voidvelgr Ritual

This card can be used to Ritual Summon any "Voidvelgr" Ritual Monster. You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or field whose total Levels equal or exceed the Level of the Ritual Monster you Ritual Summon. If your opponent controls a monster in the Extra Monster Zone, you can also use "Voidvelgr" monster(s) in your GY, by banishing them. If a "Voidvelgr" Ritual Monster would be destroyed by battle or a card effect: You can banish this card from your GY; return 1 Dark Galaxy monster to your hand instead. You can only use each effect of "Voidvelgr Ritual" once per turn.

I wonder how many of you saw that ending coming. In the end, Storm Rider lost to Enoch. I feel confident enough to say that Enoch is, without a doubt, the strongest duelist of the Syndicate. Overcoming him will be a major challenge for our protagonists.
