Notes & Disclaimers:

Rio is Blue Sky IP.

Hey guys! You wanted to see more? Well now, here comes more. (Just remember that it shouldn't be rushed). In fact, I apparently made this chapter longer than I first thought, so I split it into two. Which means you guys get to read two new chapters from me in one day. Whoo! And just remember, before I continue with my other stories, I'll try to finish this current story arc, still like what DisneyPlus is doing. I don't know how long that'll take but hopefully it'll be worth it.

On a related note: Hopefully you'll be interested to remember that fanfictions aren't my only stories. On Twitter, I'm sharing posts. Plus some longer posts and activities on DeviantART, and comments on YouTube. Including these posts:

• "C's Thoughts on…2019-2021 Series"

• "C's (Pre) Thoughts on…Spider-Man: No Way Home"

• "C's Thoughts on…Certain Good Stories (2)"

• "EQoftheDay"

If you want, you guys can check those out, and the other posts I've made in other places. And even follow me on Twitter and others. So with that, and (again) before I continue the rest, enjoy the continuation to the "Real in Rio Again" arc.

Chapter Forty Three: Real in Rio Again Part 2

Hours later, after the gang had established their plan, they went to the animal hospital and explained it again to the two people that would help them out the most: Linda and Tulio. The two humans that cared for Blu and Jewel very much, and were willing to go through with what they had in mind.

The two were together, at the moment, in the breeding chamber. Each of them set up a new nanny cam on the corner of the ceilings, to make sure they caught every good angle in the room.

Tulio called out to his wife, "Linda? Are you done on your side?"

"Almost." Linda replied while screwing in the bolts securing her last camera. Then when she made it tight enough, she said, "There we go. I'm done. But what do you think, Blu?"

Blu the Spix Macaw hovered to her right arm and squawked in a happy tone, thinking the camera was made right. He even stuck his wing-tip up to look like a thumbs up. Making his friend smile and say, "That's good to hear. What about you, Tulio?"

"Fit as a fiddle, honey." Tulio happily responded. "Let us just hope that they will work well enough for this little event."

"I hope so too. But…I have to admit, the more I think about it, are we really doing the right thing?" Linda changed her face to a worried expression, and both Blu and Tulio looked at her in confusion.

"What do you mean?" They both asked, though Blu's question was still a squawk to their ears.

Linda said, "You know. About putting Blu and Jewel in a position like this. Allowing them to be captured by smugglers? None of that feels good to me."

Blu gave a sympathetic look, seeing how much of a motherly instinct Linda was showing to him. Then Tulio rested a hand on his wife's shoulder and said, "I know it doesn't, Linda. Believe me, it doesn't to me either, especially with the fact that Blu and Jewel are going to be parents soon. But if what they wrote is true, then it's our job to help. I don't think the police can assist us without proper proof of their location and activities, so baiting the smugglers seems like the best plan."

Blu nodded, and remembered how it did go. He and Jewel flew over to the hospital, and Blu wrote on a notepad. Which was how usually communicated with his human companions. He wrote to them about everything that Nigel explained, and the plan they had in mind on how to stop the bad guys for good.

"Do you really think so? How is it that you seem so confident about it though?" Linda asked.

"Because, not only am I aware that Blu and Jewel are smart and resourceful, but you Linda, you are the bravest and most confident woman I know. It was because I met you that I gained so much confidence on what to do in any big challenge. That includes helping those in need. So it's because of you that I feel that this is going to work."

Linda blushed, feeling so flattered from her husband's words and said, "Thank you. I…I never thought you felt that way so much. Especially since we met that night."

"Well, I do. And it's also one of the reasons why I married you." He kissed her, to which she gladly accepted, making Blu smile while he was still on her arm before he hovered and litely flew to the next room.

He went all the way from the artificial breeding chamber to the waiting room at the entrance. There, he saw his loving wife sitting at the counter, looking at the sun by the window. So he silently dropped down, and gently approached her so he could surprise her until…"Don't even think about it." Jewel responded. She smiled and blocked Blu's beak with her wing as she said it.

"How'd you know I was there?" Blu said, still muzzled.

Jewel giggled, bringing her wing down and said, "I'm your wife. By now you think I wouldn't know when you're planning something against me?"

"Against you? Never. I'd never do anything harmful against my wife." He took her wing and comfortably nuzzled her head.

"Ya I know." She chuckled. "But still, you can't slip one past my eyes."

"If you say so. However…" He started to slow dance with her. "…don't think that means you can pull a fast one on me either."

"Ooh, are you sure about that?"

"Uh-huh. I'm as smart as any boy you'll meet, and have a good knowledge on how both humans and animals work, so I'm not one to be easily fooled."

"Hm. I guess you're right." Jewel chuckled again, and then gasped in fear, yelling, "Blu, look! The smugglers!"

"What? Where?" He turned, and stood in a protective stance when Jewel pointed to the door, but didn't see anyone. There weren't any humans on sight, but to Blu's ears he heard laughter. Causing him to turn back to his wife and show an annoyed look.

"Gotcha." Jewel grinned and continued laughing.

"Yes, yes you did." Blu said sarcastically. Then gained a new grin before taking his wife's wing again, and causing her to kiss him. They kissed comfortably for a few seconds, and Blu let go saying, "You are so rude."

"And you are so gullible and cute." Jewel kissed his cheek.

"Hm." Blu sighed in a blissful tone, and the two hugged while continuing to slow dance on the counter.

After a minute or so, something crossed Jewel's mind. "Hey Blu?"

"Yeah?"

"Speaking of 'fast ones,' do you know what's going to be coming up soon? Before our kids, that is?"

"No. Is it…your birthday?"

"Nope."

"Earth Day? Wait, I feel like that's on another date."

"Still no."

"Our wedding anniversary? Or the anniversary of when we met?"

"No…hang on. I'm sorry, I think that last one is coming up. But that's not what I was referring to."

"Then what is it?" Blu chuckled, feeling excited.

"Tomorrow…is Carnival, and the day after that, Valentine's Day."

Blu gasped, "Really?"

"Uh-huh. Two of the most exciting holidays are coming up. So interesting timing for an adventure like this, huh?"

"Oh yeah. Now I just have to ask, when we're done, you interested in flying around for the parade again? And going on a special date for Valentine's Day?"

"Only if we get to dance on both of them together."

"Hehe." Blu chuckled, and then he heard Jewel say, "Hey Blu, look. There's someone coming at the door."

"What? Oh, you're trying to trick me again, aren't you?"

"No. Turn around, I think I see our friends coming."

"Uh-huh."

"Blu." She forcefully took his shoulders and made him turn around, causing him to see that she was right as they both saw a few birds coming towards the entrance.

"Oh, sorry." Blu nervously chuckled at his annoyed wife.

Then the birds came closer as they flew in, causing the automatic doors to go off, letting the birds in. And they were revealed to be…"Rafael, guys, hey." Jewel announced, seeing it was Rafael, Eva, Carlos, Sophia, Mikka and Leo. Their two childhood friends, and four parents.

"Hi again guys." Blu said as he and Jewel hovered down, and hugged each of them.

"What are you guys doing here?" Jewel asked. "We thought you were still at the club."

"We were, Amigos." Rafael answered.

Carlos, "But then our daughter and son-in-law came over to us, and told us what you guys had planned."

Sophia, "We wanted to make sure you were alright. And hopefully convince you to not try to pull this stunt."

Jewel, "Really?"

Carlos, "Yes. Sweetie, I know you're doing this to help those birds get out, but this? You're putting yourself in danger to do it."

Sophia, "Jewel, we raised you for almost as long as we raised Eva, that makes you our daughter too and Blu, you are also our son-in-law. I don't feel right having two go through this."

Mikka, "Sophia, please. I don't feel right about it either, but like we kept telling you,"

Leo, "Blu and Jewel are able to handle anything. They say the human cops can't because they need proof on where these smugglers are hiding in order to stop them. This is the best way to bring ourselves into the hideout and free everyone."

Blu, "And don't forget, I'm the one who came up with it. Which means I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure that my wife is safe. Not to mention the fact that we have many friends that have been willing to help us out. Including you guys if you want."

Carlos and Sophia paused for a moment. They never had a problem with Blu before, knowing he was responsible and kind, and knew when to choose his friends over other things. Though Carlos still wing-palmed himself with a sigh.

He said, "Blu…I don't know. I just…I just…"

Leo, "Carlos, it's okay. Trust my son, and your daughter. It'll be okay."

Rafael, "Without a doubt. We'll still have his back all the way."

Jewel, "And I'll have my husband's too." She smiled, taking Blu's wing and hugging him, which caused Carlos and Sophia to start smiling. But Sophia then shed a tear and said, "I believe you two. Just promise us you'll be okay."

"We will." Jewel hugged her adoptive mother tightly, and doing that made her feel the need to let something else out. Something that only Blu and Jewel knew about. So she let go and said, "You know…now with that being said, there's something you should know about. Something that Blu and I wanted to share since this morning."

Blu froze for a second, knowing what she meant. So he whispered to Jewel, "Are you sure that's a good idea? I thought we were going to wait later."

Jewel whispered back, "I did too, but given the time we have and with how Carlos and Sophia are feeling, maybe now would be a good time. That is if you're okay with it?"

"Well…" Blu felt hesitant.

"Is something wrong?" Eva asked.

Blu looked at his parents and friends, and began to feel that maybe his wife was right, and had no desire to argue with her on the matter or any matter. So he breathed out and said, "Actually no. Nothing's wrong, but Jewel is right. There is some news we want to tell you guys."

"Is it about the plan?" Leo asked.

"Kind of. You see, as you know, the plan is to have Linda and Tulio secure us and let the city become aware of us. More so than they already are. They'll know that we're the last blue macaws around, that we're coming together and starting a family. Then the smugglers will come to get us. Where they'll take us to their hideout and you guys will be able to follow us, and we'll be able to uncage every bird in there. However…that part about us starting a family…it's not going to be false news."

"Beg your pardon?" Mikka and Leo asked in unison, thinking they knew what he meant.

"Guys…" Jewel started, "I'm pregnant!" And as expected, the six friends froze in shock. Then after three seconds of Blu and Jewel resisting the urge to laugh, the six dog-piled them with cheers.

"Oh wow!"

"Congratulations you two!"

"I can't believe it!"

"How long did you know?"

"When are they coming?"

They each gave off numerous random questions, and Blu and Jewel chuckled with their responses. "Yes!" Then Jewel interrupted them with a smile. "I'm pregnant. Linda and Tulio found out after giving me a check up last night, and I only told Blu about it this morning."

Blu, "We were then planning on telling you guys next, but then…"

Leo, "Came Nigel's news? That makes sense."

Mikka, "Wow. But wait, I know we agreed to help birds out, but still…do you guys honestly wait until we are done for you to tell us?"

Blu, "Yes. That was the case until now."

Sophia, "If that's the case then…Jewel exactly how long will it be until…?"

Jewel, "Don't worry. Linda and Tulio only said that I've been pregnant for two weeks. So it'll be a while before I need to be in the position to rest, and like I said, I trust my husband. I trust him enough to go through this plan."

Carlos, "Jewel…now you're just making me feel more nervous."

"Don't worry. I promise we'll be okay. Again, we have Linda and Tulio to help us, we're one step ahead of those smugglers, and you guys and the others can still be with us along the way."

Blu, "Which means with all of us working together, we will win. And those other birds will be free."

Carlos and Sophia were again feeling unsure. But with all their words, and remembering that they did have the right friends by their side, the elder toucans shrugged their shoulders. Knowing that their grown up, mature and married kids were right.

"Okay." They both said in unison. Then Carlos, "If you think you can handle this,"

Sophia, "Then just make sure we take the chance to help out too."

Mikka, "And if I may suggest, please make sure you give the four of us front row seats to watch your chicks hatch when they do."

Blu and Jewel chuckled, "Deal." The eight birds hugged each other, and after releasing, Blu said, "And another good thing about this plan, when it succeeds and we have our new kids added to this family, they won't have to worry about the chances of meeting smugglers roaming the streets."

"That's a good point." Rafael stated, and the eight laughed again before they continued talking and going about their time.

More Notes & Disclaimers:

Or maybe, technically, she looked at the view of where the sun was beaming. Just note that it's never safe to stare at the sun.

I might've thought about that scene from (Disney's) Tarzan when I was writing this part.

In case you're wondering…"Buzz, look, an alien!" "Where?!" "BAH! HAHAHA!"

And just your luck, guys, because (as previously stated) I split this one chapter into two. So you don't have to wait to enjoy Part 3.
