Zelda began to search the library from top to bottom. However, she could not find any information about familiar marks with symbols instead of runes. What concerned her the most was that the symbol almost exactly matched her birthmark on her own hand.
By nightfall she hadn't found anything and she was forced to return to her room. Upon her return, her familiar was still knocked out. She lowered him off the bed and onto a straw mat on the floor. Suddenly there was a familiar explosion from down the hall. It came from Louise's room which wasn't unusual. Everytime that she cast a spell an explosion usually followed. Until now Zelda had completely forgotten that she hadn't seen what happened with Louise's familiar. So, she went and knocked on her door, but Louise didn't seem to hear her. So, she knocked again, but the door was opened and slammed in her face. She was about to yell at Louise for hitting her with the door, but to her surprise it was a boy. He had black hair and was wearing very strange clothes, and they were definitely not noble clothes. He stopped to look at her for a second and she saw his eyes drawn to her ears, but he quickly ran down the hall as Louise began screaming and chasing after him.
Zelda knew better than to stop an angry Louise. So, she picked herself up and went back to her room. She figured she could ask her who the boy was later, and about her familiar. However, as soon as she closed the door, she felt something cold and metal touch the edge of her throat. Then, she heard a voice in a foreign language. She had closed her eyes in terror when she felt the blade at her throat, but now she cautiously opened them. It was her familiar and he was holding his sword at her throat.
