sorry that it is a short chapter. i hope you like it ;)

"when I first came to Hogwarts I didn't want to tell people just yet. Because of that I made it my mission to learn everything there is to learn about magic so I had something to talk about. Did it make me antisocial and a bookworm? Definitely. But then Harry and Ron became friends with me. I used my knowledge to repeatedly save their asses. But they still didn't know me for me. Just when I was going to tell them Ron makes some snarky remark. I was asking them if they want to come over for summer and Ron's words were why would we want to spend time in the muggle world? If he didn't think anything about muggles was worth anything then I wouldn't tell him. Then I realized that if I told anyone they would treat me differently. And I kept it a secret" Hermione explained.

"I get it. And I will keep your secret" Ginny said. "thanks" Hermione smiled. "where do you think we will be going for the field trip?" Ginny asked. "anywhere but the palace" Hermione replied. Ginny nodded in agreement.

"I bet that Ron will never guess that you are royal in a million years" Ginny said. Hermione laughed. "let that prat find out for himself." Hermione replied. Just then Draco appeared in the doorway. "talking about weasel, are we?" Draco said slyly. Hermione rolled her eyes.

"what do you want Malfoy?" she asked. "you left this book downstairs." Malfoy said as he handed her a book. He stood there for a minute before leaving. The girls then proceeded to talk the whole night. When Hermione checked her watch for the time she was shocked.

"uh, Ginny, it's 3 am" Hermione said. "already?" Ginny asked with a shocked expression. "I better go" Ginny said before casting a disillusionment charm on herself. "bye!" Hermione said. "see you tomorrow!" Ginny said. And with that Ginny left.

That night Hermione was having trouble sleeping. At around four am she gave up on sleep and went downstairs to get herself a glass of water. She almost dropped the glass in shock however when she turned and almost ran into someone.

"Draco?" Hermione asked, squinting her eyes. "the one and only. What are you doing up?" Draco replied. "I could ask you the same thing." Hermione retorted. Draco rolled his eyes. That was the Hermione he knew. "I was doing some work when I heard you" he replied. It was close to the truth. He had actually heard her tossing and turning and was worried for her. He was still confused as to why he cared though. "I couldn't sleep and I came to get a glass of water." Hermione explained. Just then Draco had an idea.

"come with me" he said, grabbing Hermione's hands and dragging her to the couches. "what am I doing here?" she asked. "if you can't sleep why don't you give me some company" Draco replied. Hermione smiled and they both took seats next to each other.

The next half hour was spent talking and laughing. A few minutes later a comfortable silence settled. Draco was reading through some forms when he felt pressure on his shoulder. He turned his head to find that Hermione had fallen asleep on his shoulder. He smiled. He slowly moved her head off his shoulder and picked her up. He walked into Hermione's room carrying Hermione. He set her on the bed and wrapped a blanket around her. He was leaving when he had a weird notion to do something. He walked over to Hermione and gave her a kiss on her forehead. He didn't know why he did it, just that he did. "good night, Granger" he said before going to his own room.
