Hermione woke up the next day confused, to say the least. She had absolutely no idea how she had gotten to her room. The last thing she remembers was sitting with Malfoy downstairs. She shrugged it off and quickly got dressed.

When she got downstairs, she was shocked to find a group of slytherins, laughing and joking. Her mouth literally dropped open.

"Morning." Draco said cheerfully.

He had walked in behind her and had closed her mouth.

"I must say granger, that slap you gave weasel was brilliant" pansy said.

yes, Pansy Parkinson was complimenting Hermione granger.

"Well of course it was" Hermione smirked. Draco rolled his eyes.

"Since Malfoy over here has apparently forgotten his manners, care to explain who some of you are?" she asked sarcastically.

"Blaise Zabini"

"Theo Nott"

"Astoria Greengrass"

"You of course know me as Pansy, the most stylish person here!"

Hermione then turned to Draco.

"well, well. it seems that your friends have more manners than you! might I interest you in some classes?" Hermione sassed.

the entire room exploded in laughter.

"she got you good Draco" Theo said through his laughter. Draco rolled his eyes.

"you also might want to mind your eye rolls. you do it so much I am surprised that they aren't stuck like that" Hermione said.

everyone began laughing once more.

"oh, she's good" Zabini said. Astoria nodded in agreement. Draco groaned.

"really granger? in front of everyone?" Malfoy asked in disbelief.

"it's part of my charm" Hermione replied.

"ok, we are going to be bestie's if you continue like this" pansy commented. "definitely" Astoria agreed.

the gang continued to talk for a while. it turns out that they aren't as bad as she thought they were. they were all hilarious. Astoria and Pansy had a lot in common with her and they had an eye for fashion. Theo's antics were hilariously stupid and Blaise and Draco's sarcasm rivaled all others.

No one noticed that they were talking for so long, that they had run over first period. it was most unfortunate that it was professor Mcgonagall's class. it was also unfortunate that it was the first day back, making the punishment more than what it would have been if it was a normal day. they all jumped when they heard the door open and they were shocked to find the headmistress there.

Hermione's mind was filled with thoughts. what will professor Mcgonagall do to us? will we get detention? on the first day back? lucky for ms Hermione Granger, her slytherin friends had a plan. she almost burst out laughing when she saw them eat candy from the 'skiving snackboxes'.

"what is going on here?" professor Mcgonagall asked, more than a little angry.

"nothing *cough* professor. we were just *cough* sick and granger was *cough* talking care of us" Draco said.

to everyone's surprise, professor Mcgonagall burst out laughing.

"how stupid do you think i am?" she said through her laughter. the students just stared at her.

"those Weasley twins have got to come up with something new!" Mcgonagall exclaimed. the kids all nodded in agreement.

"now as for your punishment-" Mcgonagall was cut off by Hermione. "please don't give us detention!" Hermione pleaded. The professor thought about it for a minute.

"fine. you can have the rest of the morning off. i will inform your teachers. but i expect you to be back at classes after lunch" with that Mcgonagall walked out of the room. everyone just stood still, dumbfounded.

"did she just-?" Draco asked confused. Hermione nodded.

"you know what this means!" Theo yelled with a smirk spreading on his face. "what?" Pansy barely finished asked before he stretched his arms out and ran towards all of us.

"we got the morning off!" he yelled as he slammed all of us into the ground. we all glared at him from the floor.

"i'm going to leave now!" Theo proclaimed before running up the stairs. "get back here Theodore Nott!" Hermione yelled before chasing him. the rest of the slytherins laughed and joined the chase.
