Yuri gazed at her computer with nothing but pure boredom on her face. She had been working for the recently No. 2 Hero, Hawks', office for 3 years now as a secretary/assistant and she never regretted it more than these late nights of paperwork. Since his rise in the ranks, the paperwork, requests, demands all got more and more flamboyant. Yuri let out an exasperated sigh as her computer continued to ping with incoming emails; letting her head fall to her desk in defeat. 'Why did I choose to work here?' she despaired.

"Yuri? Yuri" Aiko's voice rang out somewhere in her head, "It's time to head out!"

"Go on without me," Yuri wailed, "Leave me to this endless mountain of doom." Tears streamed down her face as she turned to face the floor.

"Whatever you say, Yuri," Aiko said, "You're going to run yourself into the ground and for what? A hero that's never even here. A boss that won't even acknowledge that you do all his work?"

"Aiko, I'm fine," Yuri reassured her, "Besides I would be more fearful if he were here. He's a hero, not some corporate CEO that has to sit in his office all day. Given who I am, I am glad to be able to help where ever I can." Aiko shook her head. Yuri had never been upfront about her quirk and most of her coworkers had speculated that she was actually quirkless. Given her past that was the most logical explanation for her.

"Besides I take p-"

"Pride in your work. Yes, we know!" Aiko interrupted, "Don't stay too late!" Yuri stared at Aiko's retreating form. 'You really wouldn't understand Aiko. The want. No need to see him succeed in everything.' Yuri continued her typing as the office grew quieter and quieter. Form after form. Email after email. A loud ding! broke her from her thoughts. Looking back at her computer, Yuri saw the newest email.

Always the mysterious one. Yuri allowed a soft smile to grace her face at the thought of him. She couldn't blame him. They were playing with literal and figurative fire in all this. Her computer showed that it was just past 10 pm. If she left soon she would make it with time to spare.

"Got a hot date tonight?" A voice whispered in her ear.

"Agh!" Yuri shrieked spinning around coming face to face with a smirking Hawks, "Gods, you nearly gave me a heart attack!" He gave out a light chuckle.

"Quiet the mysterious email you got there," Hawks smirked, "Planning to go meet up with some villains? Or maybe a criminal mastermind?"

"Yes, yes it is," Yuri rolled her eyes and spun back towards her computer, "Would you care to join me as I go to my inevitable death? I'll even let you say 'I told you so'."

"With an offer like that who am I to refuse," he snarked back. Yuri let out a low laugh as she continued her work. Another report for the Commission. They never let up on anything with him. Always keeping him under their watchful eye. In their cage. It had taken Yuri a year and a half with him to realize that he didn't remember her or much about his childhood. And as much as it pained her to be writing their reports again after all this time, she would do it for him.

"Why are you here so late?" Hawks asked as he sat down on the edge of her desk. That made her pause her typing for a moment.

"Someone has to fill out these reports and we both know you won't do it," Yuri explained, "I also happen to like my job." Hawks stared down at her as if trying to read her mind. His golden eyes glowing with intensity. The silence stretched between them with the sound of her typing being the only other noise. Yuri sighed and leaned back in her chair. It was almost 11 now.

"Don't listen to them," Yuri said catching his eye, "Those that had no desire or ambition to do what you lot do have no right to judge. Aiko means well but she has become disillusioned to hero work. After All Might and working at the agency."

"How?" Hawks floundered.

"Contrary to popular belief, you are quite easy to read. Your face not so much but your eyes say it all," Yuri said as she stood up packing her things up, "My parents always said I had a gift for understanding people." He continued to stare at her. He had a feeling that wasn't the whole truth. Her statements never felt like a lie but more riddled with half-truths and clues than he himself rolled.

"Have a good night boss man! I'm off to my mysterious meeting," Yuri called as she headed out, "If I'm not back tomorrow it's safe to say I bit the bullet." Hawks could only wave at her back as she left. Wait… did she just say she was going to the meeting!?

Yuri watched from the shadows as Hawks flew out the top window in the direction of the coordinates. It warmed her heart that he cared enough to try and follow her. Yuri shook her head and headed out in the opposite direction. Pulling out her phone, she dialed the familiar number.

"You know it's a good thing we always put the opposite directions in these emails… Yeah, he was looking over my shoulder when I opened it… No, I didn't know he was there. You know how silent he can be… I'm pretty sure he will be suspicious of me if this happens again. I can try to play it off as spam but that can only go so far… Yes, I'm on my way. I should be there shortly… I've missed you too. Hopefully, this will all be over soon…" Yuri hung up and continued her way to the destination. Their favorite place by the ocean. Pier 49.

-With Hawks-

There was nothing here. A grassy clearing with not a soul in sight. Maybe he was reading too much into it, but why would someone send his secretary such an email? As far as he knew she did not possess any valuable information besides what was written in the reports and those were made public after a while. Maybe she was just messing with him? It didn't look like anyone was there or like anyone was arriving. Was she being messed with? Hawks took one more look around the clearing before heading off. It was already 1 am, if something were going to happen, it would've happened. Something was off.
