SONIC POV
Present day
My forehead feels cold as I slowly open my eyes. My eyes spin across the world. I close my eyes and open them.
"I feel so cold', I think as I try to stand up. My arms don't move on command nor do my legs. I feel frozen. I soon feel vibrations on the ground causing me to move my eyes. My eyes try to focus as I see something green on top of something pink. I blink slowly at the blobs and a shiver flies throughout my body. My flames are trying to go through my body but it's almost as if I am so frozen. I try to produce small flames of fire through my mouth but only small amounts of heat seeps out.
I shiver again causing me to wince. The vibrations get louder causing me to look back up to the blobs. I blink rapidly trying to fix my vison and for a spilt second I see… Amelia. My eyes open up and I suddenly remember where I am.
I slowly lean up and my head does a 180. I fall over again to right as I lose my balance. I ignore the frozen feelings in my body, and I place one foot on the ground. My legs shakes viously as I stand up. I lean back and I almost stumble over, but the wall catches me.
I look forward to Amelia notice she is struggling against Scourges grip. I try to take a step but I almost fall causing me to lean back to wall.
"Ugh, fuck" I say out loud weakly. I press my hands on the wall and I gently bring myself to the floor.
I breathe steadily and I place my hands-on wall. I soon start feeling loopy again.
"Okay… okay focus. If I just turn to the wall and then just fly… yup sounds dandy" I say vibing in my own frozen world.
I turn around and I hold out my two hands. I shoot big blast of fire widly causing me to shoot myself in the air. I go in the air and then I look down to the green blob. I shoot at the air and I blast myself down. My back hits a body and we go flying to the wall.
I roll onto the ground and I slowly look up at the Amelia not moving. My heart thumps hard and fire dances through my body. My vison comes clear to me know and I see that her head is in ice. I stand up and I quickly run to her. I lift her from the ice, and I notice that he was trying to drown her the whole time. The world goes dark as I see that she isn't moving.
"Amelia no no no" I say as I lean down to listen for a breath.
Nothing
I place a hand over my other hand, while creating a fist with the one touching her chest. I push down repeatedly and then I bring my lips to hers, giving her CPR. She starts to cough quickly, and water comes from her mouth. Her blue eyes open up to mine and I feel myself get warmer.
"I'LL KILL YOU" Scourge yells and swings a ice hammer my way. I duck immediately and I press myself on Amelia's body. I stretch my arm out to the side and I slide us across the room, making a big gap in between Scourge and us.
My back hits the side of the wall and Amelia continues to cough on my chest. I pull her up close to me hugging her patting her back. I soon see a the hammer that almost hits me fly our way. I move Amelia gently to the side and I blast it with fire making ice pieces fly everywhere.
Scourge appears after me hitting his ice hammer and flies through the debris towards us. I stand up quickly and he aims his foot at me. I block my shielding it with forearms. I push him away and he flips back, landing on his feet. I run at him and I send a wave a fire. He blocks it with ice, and I jump over his ice. His eyes widen as I catch him off guard sending my fist across his face. My fist connects with his jaw and it makes him fall to the ground. He falls on the ground and ice bend a pillar quickly at me. I charge to shoot it with a fire ball, but I am too late. The ice pillar then gets hit with another one that comes up from the ground.
Pink hair flies in my face and he uses the ice pillars and turns it into water hitting Scourge in the chest. He falls back and water bends the water on his face. I look at Amelia and I notice she looks so angry.
"Come kill me now Scourge" she yells and then jumps on him. Scourge tries get her off of him but Amelia punches in the face repeatedly. He then hits the side of harm arm that was bleeding, and she winces. My legs move on their own and I lift her off of him and I shoot a fire blast with my foot. He barely dodges it by covering himself in a ice, covering his entire body. I smirk and I increase the heat melting the ice. I notice that he isn't there and I feel vibrations under us.
"SONIC, JUMP" Amelia yell as I look to the ground. I notice a hand I jump to late and he grabs my ankle, while the place I was standing in turns into water. It instantly brings me down into the cold ice water. I wince as the cold waters covers my legs. I place my hands on the ice trying to prevent myself for going to so far in the ice water.
Amelia runs to me and wraps her arms under my arms.
"I got you", she says pulling me and up and then she ice bends pillars on her feet. Pulling me out of the ice water. Barely half of my calf comes out of the water until I start getting pulled back down harsher.
Amelia starts to grunt as she tries to keep me up from touching the water. I slip from her grip and my body slips further in the water. She grabs my hand while jumping off of the ice pillars. Her eyes are open large with fear.
"Sonic, please hold on!" she says while using all her strength to keep me about the water.
"I am trying- "my heat leaves me quickly causing my arm to go limp.
Amelia notices and grabs my forearm and my shirt as my chest now collar bone now enters in the icy waters. The icy water pierces my skin. I can't even feel my legs.
Amelia tries the water bend the water away from my body, but it feels like another force is keeping her from doing so. My vision starts to blur, and I look at Amelia lazily.
"NO, HEY STAY AWAKE", she yells.
My head suddenly dips underwater and then I feel Amelia pull me back up. The icy water rolls off my face and then pink hair fillls my vision. My eyelids feel so heavy and I look Amelia again. I can't hear what she is saying but she is yelling at me concerningly. I close my eyes and then I open them.
My eyes feel cold I think as look around. I see bubbles move past me and that it is much darker before I closed my eyes. A green blob moves in front me and does weird movements with their arms.
I soon feel a force move away from him quickly. It starts getting darker as I move away from him, but I soon stop as I hit something. I lay on what feels like a wall and then I feel the coldness leave my body. I lay on the wall and a something lighter covers my view. I want to reach out to touch it but my arms won't even budge. I feel a pain in my chest, and I inhale. I feel cold oxygen enter my lungs causing me to wince at the painful feeling throughout my body.
I try to move my hand again wanting to touch something this substance in front of me. I feel so cold.
So cold. I think as I stare at the light above.
Amy POV
I watch Sonic blink and then he doesn't open his eyes.
"Sonic wake up plea- "Sonic slips out of my grasp and fully goes into the water.
"No!" I think as I put my two arms in water trying to catch him, but I miss him by a second. The ice around my arms and freezes it. I try to melt the ice, but I can't I am pretty sure Scourge is controlling it. I slam my foot on the ice but then I notice that it is solid.
"ARGH" I grunt pulling hard at the ice. Tear prick at my eyes as I worry about Sonic.
"He's drowning. He's drowning. He's drowning. I have to save him." I think as that goes through my mind repeatedly. I slam my foot harder on the ice and it doesn't even crack. My foot starts to ache as I slam it.
I take a breath and I try to focus.
"I can't release myself from this ice and save him"
I close my eyes and I try to melt the ice from my arms. I feel a strong force pushing against the ice as I try to change it. I try harder and I feel the ice tighten causing me to wince as my skin scarps along the ice.
I open my eyes up and panic as I can't melt it.
Soon a hole is formed in front of me and a Scourge steps out the ice water. He steps out the water and the water turn into ice. I walks to me slowly and I start to pull at the ice again. He stands in front of me and then my head slowly rises to his eyes. He sends his fist across my face and I wince at the pain. He then sends his foot on my head, causing me to hit the ground below me. Blood drips my head, sliding down my forehead and across my nose.
I watch his feet move and they head to behind me. He then walks over me and sits down on my back. I try to move him off of me, but it doesn't work.
"You should really, stop struggling now… he is already long gone", he says while moving his hands on my face.
"HE ISN'T. NOW GET OFF OF ME" I say not believing anything he is saying.
"Have a look for yourself", he says and then he grabs my hair. The ice in front soon turns into water my head is forced under it. I look down to water and I see him…
Laying in the bottom of the water lifeless. My eyes widen and I get pulled back up from the water. Ice forms again in front of me and he drops my head. Tears form in my eyes and I feel my heart shatter in two. Anger then fuels me, and I start moving to get him off of me.
"YOU BASTARD! GET OFF OF ME", I say.
"Listen Ames, I will still forgive you if you just surrender. I won't harm you in any way since that fire boy is gone. Just forget about him and let's continue to make the world equal", he says and he moves his hands onto my back.
"Or you can let me forgive you in a different way".
"What are you-"I stop talking as I feel his hands go into my black crop top. He slowly moves his hands to my breasts, and I shrug at him as he does so. He then removes his hands and sighs.
"Ames, you still can't just let it go, can you? Sonic is dead. Dead. You saw him and so many minutes has passed. I am sure you no one can't stay under water for so long right?" he questions, and he leans down to my ear.
"Here, you still wanting to pick fight about something that has already ended. Just stop Ames."
I look down to the ice, thinking about Sonic.
"Scourge is right. It's been so long that he has been down there, but I still feel so hopeful… why?" I think as a single tear leaks from my eye.
Scourges finger wipes my tears away.
"No more tears Ames, it's over and we can fight alongside each other- "I cut him off by swinging my head at his face. He leans up and curses as he holds his mouth.
He grabs a hand full of my hair and then hits me in the face again.
"Ouch, you fucking bitch", he says as hits me again the face.
"I am so sick of you treating me this way Ames, even after I gave you other chance of living."
I shrug my head away from his grip.
"Scourge, I don't give shit about your chances! I am going to defeat you if it's the last thing I do!" I yell as I pull at the ice harder.
"Oh boy, you are so stubborn", he says, and I suddenly feel the ice loosen and I slip out.
Scourge sends a blast a water my way and I stand up quickly. I catch and I throw back at him. I run at him as he tries to stop the water from hitting him and I throw a kick at his head. He catches the water and dodges my kick. The moves the water to my hand and freezes it.
"YOU THINK THAT WILL STOP ME THIS TIME" I yell, and I swing my frozen fist at his hard. The ice breaks as it hits his face and he fall to the ground.
Scourge picks himself up slowly but falls back to the ground. I take the time to secretly go through the ice. I slide in and I hit freezing water. I quickly water bend and I shoot it through the ice floor above me, making sharp icicles to give scourge a harder time.
I turn and I see Sonic. The world sounds so quiet as I look at his body from afar. I slowly swim to him.
"If he is dead… I don't know what I will do", I think as I start swimming slower.
"I didn't prepare for this" I think as I stop fully. My eyes widen as I see his head move to the side. I dive I quickly to him. I reach out to touch him but then my hand hits… ice? I cock my head in confusion. I watch as Sonic eyes move to mine and he blinks slowly. "How cold it is down here must have him dazed again." I think.
I gently rub my hand along the ice studying it. The water soon starts to move up quickly, causing my hair to move back at the same time. I grab on to the ice Sonic is being covered by and I look back.
"All of the water is being pulled out of here!" I think.
I look back at Sonic and I notice his hand is moving out towards me. I create a small ice dome around myself and I hit the ground. I unfreeze the ice and I see Sonic eyes. My heart skips a beat and I run to him hugging him. I press his ice cold body to mine.
"Oh my god… Sonic I knew you was okay". I say as I pull back looking at his face.
"…Pretty" he says drunkilngly as his head flops back.
I grab his head and I lean him back forward. I place my hand on his face checking his temp.
"He still feels pretty cold… I just give him one of my pin-"
I hear a large explosion from above and I look up. I can't see that well through the ice but I know something bad is about to happen. I whip the pins from my hair and I pat Sonic's face. Sonic eyes wake up slowly after a couple of tapping and he finally looks at me.
"Mmm, what" he says closing his eyes annoyingly.
"Sonic you have to wake up. Here take these they will give your power back."
"…It's too early"
I stare at him in annoyance and more loud noises explodes from above us.
"Hear open your mouth and suck on this" I say he and looks at me smirks.
"That's freaky, freaky, Amy" he says and laughs.
I blush while staring at his drunkenly face. I slowly move the pins in his mouth. He mumbles something but ignore it because I am pretty sure it was some nonsense. The dome of ice I created then cracks in pieces as its hit with something. I stand up in front of Sonic trying to protect him as I stare at scourge.
I look at him and he has one hand in the air. He is also cut in multiple places as I see blood leak from his skin. Pieces of ice falls from the sky and I look up higher in confusion. My eyes widen as a see a huge pillar of ice. Big enough to where dogding it would not save us. I take a step back in fear.
"That's going to crush us"
I look back down to Sonic and I have yet to feel any heat from him but he has already seen the big chunk of ice before us.
"The serum is going to take a second to kick in, so I have to stall both of us some time" I think as I look back to the very exasperated green hedgehog.
He breathes angrily as he watches me and Sonic.
"You two… should have died… multiple, MULTIPLE TIMES. BUT EVERYTIME I GET CLOSE TO KILLING YOU TWO YOU BOTH CONTINUE TO HELP EACH OTHER. THIS ISN'T FAIR" he says as blood leaks down his face.
I stare at him concerningly as he yells at us.
"EVERYTIME, EVERY, EVERY, EVERYTIME. BUT THIS TIME I MAKE IT TO WHERE NONE OF YOU CAN ESCAPE THIS. THEN I WILL TAKE OVER THE WORLD AS THE NEW LEADER AND WIPE OUT ANYONE WHO DISAGREES WITH MY WAY OF THINKING. ANYONE!" he yells and clenches his fist. The big ice block he is holding in air shakes a little causing more ice to fall.
"Or Scourge we can change the world together. All of us. You don't to drop to such a level just because of what happened that day. The queen doesn't deserve to have control over our lives, so we don't have to let her" I say.
He stares at me for a moment and then a tear leaks from his eye.
"I have been suffering for years. Years, every day I see my families burnt bodies from that day. You didn't lose everything that day Ames, you didn't so don't try to give me some advice that makes you think I can change so easily. For years I have been waiting on this opportunity to finally get revenge on my family. So, DON'T try to change my mind."
"So you really just want to forget everything" I say trying to stall him. I see from the side of my eye of Sonic now moving his leg a little.
"All I need to do is feel some kind of heat from him and then if we work together, we could probably win this".
His eyes widen in anger as I say something, we basically both know the answer too.
"… are you kidding me? You joined the enemy's side. If anything, you let everything go ever since you smiled at that idiot…"
He looks past me and his face grows angrier showing his sharp teeth.
I look behind me too and I see Sonic sitting up trying to warm up his legs, while sucking on the pins I put in his mouth. His head rises and he looks at the both of us and smiles sarcastically.
"You just tried to distract me… that's okay. BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY YOU CAN GET PASSED… THIS" Scourge says while swinging his arm down.
The big ice pillar moves slowly and the heads for us with such force. The impact causes wind to whip us in the face making my hair flip around violently.
"I have to stop this!"
I raise my arms up and I try to stop the ice from hitting us. The force of Scourges powers hits me hard. The ground below starts to crack as I try to stop the pillar from crushing us. I scream out as I try to hold it up.
"Ughhh, COME ON AMELIA" I yell as I push the ice with all my power. The pillar stops in the air and starts moving back at the ceiling.
"It's going back… I CAN DO THIS" I think as sweat rolls down my face.
I use all my strength and places it back where Scoruge was holidng it. I look at him and he smiling in amusement.
"I'm not surprised you can hold this up by yourself. Its really heavy though so you should be proud… but let me show you what I was actually going to do.", he says while moving his feet apart. He takes a breath in and applies pressure to the big pillar.
The impact of his power makes more wind hit the surface where I am standing. I close my eyes and then I open them to see the pillar coming back down. I start pushing it back up again but this time its ten times heavier than before. My arms start to bend as the power gets to much for me.
The ground below breaks into a dent caused on the pressure. I turn my head to look at Sonic and I notice that he is trying to stand but continues to fall. I still feel no heat from him as well.
He needs more time.
I turn back to the ice pillar and I push harder.
"I can't lose. We are so close to our goal. I have to try harder!"
Power rushes through me and the pillar stops moving. I grunt as I hold the force back against Scourge's. My leg starts to slide back as the force pressures on my body. The pressure gets harder again causing me to get on one knee.
I grit my teeth and the pillar starts moving slowly to us. The light from the room starts to fade away as the pillar showers us in its shadow.
"Nooo… I can't LOSE" I say.
I stomp my feet on the ground, and I push the pillar again. It stops but I continue to push going way past my limit. I feel a sharp pain in my right arm. I wince at the pain, but I try ignoring it. The force gets stronger and stronger and I feel myself about to give out. I breathe exhale and inhale. I push it again hard and it stops. My arm shoots in pain and it falls to the side of me. My eyes widen and then the pillar slips from my grip and I barely stop it just in time before it touches my forehead.
I try to move my arm, but it sends out a sharp pain.
"I think its broken, but I couldn't feel it crack because of the adreline running through my body" I think in my head.
I try to hold it up with my hand and I start feeling sharp pains in that one as well. I yell out in agony as the pain increases in my arm. The pillar moves more to us causing me to fall on the ground.
"I can't hold on any longer" I say out louder. Wind starts to pick up from behind me and heat hits the back of my neck. A warm body moves to the back of me. I turn around to see Sonic smiling at me. He moves his arm up to mine a big blast forms in his palm. He wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me in close.
"Watch this" Sonic says and sends out a big blast of fire.
The fire blows the entire ice pillar up creating a big amount of cool air and dust.
I close my eyes as the wind blows back and then I open them. Snowflakes surround us and they glimmer softly in light from above. I slowly drop my hand in awe.
I turn my head to look at Sonic and he is watching it too as well. His eyes soon move to mine and smiles softly. A blush rushes over my face but I continue to look at him.
"… You are so much stronger than I thought", he says while looking at me.
I go to say something but then my right arms screams in pain. I grab at and I look at it carefully.
"I think I broke my arm."
Sonic then turns me around to look at it. I watch carefully as he grabs my warm arm. His warm hand touches my arm and I feel my heart flutter. I look up to his muscular arms to his collarbone, to his neck and then to his lips. I watch his lips moves as he says something to me, but I don't pay attention. His hand moves more up my arm causing me to look back down at it. I watch as his muscular hands go over my arm, trying to find out which area is hurting.
"His hands are so warm. He really makes me feel so safe in his arms. He feels so warm and familiar. So solid and safe. I just want to bury myself in his chest and never leave."
"Amelia" he says while looking me in eye in concern.
"Sorry what" I say shaking my head breaking out of my concentration.
"I said… I really think you broke it. Maybe a small crack at the most but its definely gone for now" .
I don't answer back as I stare at him.
"Amelia-"
" I lik-"
I loud yell comes from above causing us to whip our necks up. Scourge stares at us out of breath and the fire in his eyes are still there.
I try to stand up but my arm starts to hurt again. Sonic notices and he wraps his hands around my body lifting me. He then turns to Scourge.
"This is it Scourge… You hurt Amelia so now I am not letting you leave this building alive", he says enraged.
Fire from his feet explodes at his heels. I watch the flames dance and I look back up Sonic standing so strong.
He looks back at me and smiles once again.
"I got this now. You just stand and watch… let me protect you this time" he says and then he turns back to Scourge.
The fire in his feet blast wildly causing me to jump but it doesn't touch me. I look back at him.
"He looks so fearless and unstoppable" I think.
I tuck my hair behind my ear to keep it from flying everywhere.
Sonic blasts up to Scourge from the big gaping hole on the floor we were laying in.
"Protect…" I say softly as I watch Sonic.
"He wants to protect me… he really does".
