SONIC POV
"And basically, after that we should be able to leave the kingdom" Tails says finishing discussing the plan.
"That's going to get us killed. Our first move is going to get us killed" Blaze says looking at Tails like he is crazy.
"Well, Tails does have a point. What else are we going to do?" Knuckles says.
"I don't know- maybe they will give us a chance to redeem ourselves- "
"We all betrayed the kingdom. We are technically terrorist" I say.
"So, let's act like some then" Tails says smiling at us.
I nod at Tails and Knuckles slams his fist together agreeing on the idea. Blaze backs a bit from the door we were going to soon walk out of and shakes her head.
"Wai- Wait. If we do this and the plan, make sure the princess is safe and we actually do create a treaty. Can you promise my position back in the fire guild?" Blaze says.
"Well, I don't know… I don't even think I am a prince here anymore so at this moment I don't have a say" I say.
"Great…" Blaze says sighing.
A knocking on the door opens and Tails eyes widen. I stay a step back from the door and then I am grabbed by Knuckles. Knuckles wraps his arm around my neck with my body facing in front of his body. Knuckles hand goes to my head and a blast of heat appears and I look at his hand to see a tiny fire flame aimed it.
Tails and Blaze both nod at each other and then move away from the door to prevent from being scene until they see me being held hostage. The door opens after many locks and Jet walks in slowly looking at me and then Knuckles.
"What is this" Jet says looking at Knuckles threating to blow a hole in my head.
"It's a kidnapping. NOW GET BACK OR I BLOW A HOLE IN HIS HEAD" Knuckles yells only getting Jet to chuckle.
Tails and Blaze jump out threating Jet and Jet takes a step back at the new scene. Suddenly my guards walk up to the cell's door, but Jet makes them stop.
"If they walk in here, the prince is dead" Tails says watching the door carefully.
"Oh? The same prince that betrayed the kingdom. To be honest if he dies, I am sure it won't affect anyone" Jet says looking back at me.
"So, maybe I did lose control over the kingdom"
"But you came in here with all those guards for a reason, right? You came here for the blue dumbass" Tails says.
Jet smirks at Tails and takes another step in the cell causing Knuckles to grip up on my neck tighter. I hit his arm as he is actually choking but I hope he doesn't stop so they will believe it.
"My, my you really are trying to choke him. I should probably take this a bit serious." Jet says sarcastically and then eyes the room and walks out a bit.
"Let us out and he keeps his skull" Blaze says trying to push in on the plan.
Jet stares at us and we look at him as well.
"Okay." Jet says and then backs up out of the room. Tails and Blaze look at Knuckles and they nod their head. Tails walks out first eyeing the situation and then Blaze follows him eyeing down the guards so they wouldn't try anything. Knuckles starts to move, and I step forward trying control my breathing as I can't breathe. We step and I look at all the guards who were watching us carefully… especially me.
"Everyone put your hands in the air and move against the wall" Tails orders and then they look at him and then Jet. Jet scoffs and that makes Knuckles tighten his grip even more and I cough out in pain making everyone look at me in concern, even some start to move to the wall so I wouldn't get hurt.
"Well, at least some are still loyal"
Jet smiles and then orders everyone to move to the walls with their hands up. Everyone does so but they watch us carefully in the process.
"Good. Now Knuckles. Make Sonic point us the way out of here" Tails says, and Knuckles releases the grip on my neck so I could talk. I cough a bit making sure everyone knows that they should follow Tails orders, or they really will hurt me.
"Down the hall and the right is where you will find stairs and you will be back on the main floor by pressing on the stone wall" I say, and Knuckles starts to move walking backwards making sure they won't try anything.
Tails and Blaze moves with us quickly and Jet continues to look at me in the eyes.
"You do know that if I catch you all slipping… I have orders to deal with you myself, so you better watch your back all the way to the exit of the kingdom" Jet yells at us down the hall.
"And if we find you trying to trick us then you won't have a prince" Blaze yells and we finally make it to the stairs at the end of the hall.
Knuckles pushes me in, and I walk up the stairs quickly so I could open the door for us. I walk up and the dark hallway and I press the block that was supposed to open it. I press on the wall and it slowly shifts to the side revealing the main floor of the castle. I look back at Knuckles and he nods at me and Tails the others to come on. They all fly up the stairs and Knuckles latches onto me again and steps out of the secret prison chamber.
"We have to move quickly or Jet- "
Jet appears at the end of the stairs quickly causing everyone to look back. Jet charges a fire blast causing all of us to blast off to the exit of the castle. Knuckles continues to hold me by the throat but not as hard as he is to focus on not getting attacked by Jet.
"We have to get out of HERE NOW" Blaze says yelling at Knuckles and Knuckles takes the lead blasting out of the hallway and closer to the entrance.
"YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO ESCAPE A LOT FASTER THAN THAT" Jet yells and then the sound of electricity is made from behind us causing me to look back. The lights in the hallway flicker and I look at Knuckles.
"GET DOWN" I say, and everyone jumps to the ground as the lighting flies past our heads and hits the wall before us.
"Oh, my fucking shit" Blaze says looking behind her.
"He really is trying to kill us" Knuckles says standing back up shooting fire at the ceiling. The ceiling falls down creating a distraction but who knows how long that would hold jet since he was way stronger than a lot of us.
"Here, I'll carry you on my shoulder so we can fly out of here" Knuckles says throwing me over his shoulder. Tails and Blaze stand up as well and we start to run out of the castle. The sun hits our faces, and so does the sirens suddenly being played loudly in our ears. Knuckles suddenly blast and I hear Blaze and Tails following in the process. I look back look at the castle and I notice some of guards are around for us. Suddenly I see Jet exit the castle by flying through the rough and is looking around for us.
"Guys! We have to go now! Jet is coming- "
The sound of lightening causes me to stop talking and I see the blue light head our direction. In one swoop Knuckles and everyone flies down again dodging the lightning by a second and it hits a nearby church, breaking the walls of it. Blaze then shoots back lightning herself as her gold eyes pierce in the sunlight. The lightning goes near Jet but of course he dodges it and flies back towards us with a great speed.
Tails looks back and gasps as he sees that Jet isn't going to let us leave.
"What do we do? Jet is going berserk!" Knuckles yells and Tails looks back forward as we try escape the maniac.
"We are going to have to go to stage two. Just everyone makes sure he doesn't touch you with the lightning or you won't be able to escape" Tails yells.
We fly some more to through the kingdom with Jet and some guards following us. Jet continues to shoot lightning and we dodge them barely as they hit the buildings, bridges, and the sidewalk. I look around to see everyone running and jumping into their homes as Jet blasts at us. Finally, we make it to the town square, and I notice that the statue is still broken reminding me of time when me and Tails fought. We land on the ground and we face Jet. Jet lands on the ground starts walking towards causing Knuckles to threaten shooting me in the head again. Jet stops and smirks.
"Jet stop. You have already lost and if you continue to step forward, I will still shoot this flame through his head "Knuckle says and we all as a group back up from him.
"Yeah Jet. Don't make this a messy scene" Blaze says watching him carefully.
Jet takes a step and they back up again.
"Kill him then, because I am not stopping" Jet says and starts walking towards us.
Knuckles tightens his grip but that doesn't stop Jet from walking to us.
"Jet I swear. I'll do it" Knuckle says but Jet continues to walk.
"He isn't stopping anymore-" Blaze whispers causing Tails to gulp loudly.
Knuckles throws me to the ground far away from them and I hit the ground har. I clench my arm and I open my eyes to waves of heat being created from Tails, Knuckles, and Blaze taking on Jet. I slowly try to stand up, but my head starts to hurt badly causing me to stop moving. I slowly lay back down as the pain is getting much more intense.
"I- I have to do something. I can't just let them fight on their own. Come on brain Think. Think. Think."
The pain subsides and I look up only to see darkness. I blink trying to make it go away, but it doesn't. I reach my hand out into the darkness and then I bring it back to myself as I can't see a thing.
"No… not now- "
Loud vibrations from the darkness hits my ears causing me to cover them as the pressure makes my eardrum go in and out. I wince as my hands can't stop the loud vibrations from hitting my ears. I open my eyes and I notice that the darkness is shaking rapidly. The loud vibrations increase, and I hit the ground this time as my ears hurt from the sound.
"Argh. What's happening to me? Why can't I control this anymore" I think as the vibration continues to attack me.
The vibrations get louder and I slam my fist on the ground in pain as it damages my ears. I start to breathe heavily, and I slam fist on the ground again.
"STOP" I yell, and the vibrations seize leaving me with pain in my ears it created.
I look around and in confusion to why the darkness stops hurting me.
"I'm… I'm so confused? Mom? I can't control this… I don't know what is happening. Please help me. I am so confused" I say, and I get no response back.
I lay on the ground and close my eyes.
"Darkness please…disappear" I say then I open my eyes to guards holding onto Tail, Blaze, and Knuckles.
"Oh shit… the plan it didn't work" I think as I suddenly see footsteps coming to me. I look up to see Jet walking to me with a few scrapes and smirks at me as we make eye contact.
"What… what do I do" I think as Jet inches closer to me. I look over to Tails and I notice that he is eyeing me hard. Tails moves around whipping himself from guard's grip and they grab, tackling him to the ground with his hands cuffed behind his back.
"DO YOU SEE ME NOW SONIC YOU PIECE OF TRASH?" Tails says as the guards try to conceal him, and they bring him back to his feet, but Tails keeps on thrashing.
"NO, I WANT HIM TO SEE ME. DO YOU SEE ME SONIC" Tails says.
"See what? See…" I think about what he is saying and then my eyes widen as I understand what Tails is talking about. I slowly look up to Jet who is looking down at me.
" . And it looks like your friends are against you now. It's okay we can deal with that after Cheyenne has a few words with you" Jet says leaning down to pick me up.
"See… "C" PLAN C"
I place my hands on the ground quick and I launch my foot full force on Jet's face with a blast of fire at my foot for extra impact. Jet goes flying at the guards who are holding Knuckles, Blaze and Tails and they all fall down releasing them.
I get up quickly and I hear gasps from behind me. I make eye contact with my citizens and they back away, looking at me in fear. I step towards them and they step back more.
"I'm… I am not going to hurt you all" I think and then I feel someone smack me in the back of the head.
"You can explain to them later but now we have to go!" Tails says.
"R-Right" I say, and I look over to see Blaze tying all the guards up with a fire lasso.
"Let's rock!" Knuckles says and he takes off heading to the exit. We all follow Knuckles and we near the exit. I look back one last time before I leave my kingdom again and I feel broken-hearted.
"Everyone is going to think that I am betraying them. Everyone. Cheyenne, dad, and Jet who I just knocked clean out are going to hate me… but I have to do this for them. I have to make the world safe, so we don't have lose or kill anyone anymore."
I turn back to the entrance and I notice some guards were watching us from afar. They are signaling everyone to stop us, but it wasn't going to work. We can't stop. Not now.
I blast past Knuckles and I land on a guard post on the wall kingdom. A young male fall on his back as he looks at me with fear. I bend down and continues to back up in fear.
"Hey. What I am about to do isn't meant to harm you. But I do need to leave" I say and then I grab the young male and he squeals with his hands in the air.
Knuckles, Tails, and Blaze land near me they scare the guy even more. I turn him around and I put him the same position Knuckles put me in. My arm around his neck and his back pressed against my body. Guards show up and ready up for anything we were going to pull. Everyone looks at me waiting for me to say something and I slowly raise my free arm in the air.
"Listen. I am only going to say this once. You either let us walk out of here or we will do it by force, and it won't be pretty. I know us and the kingdom are not on good terms, but you have to let us out. Now" I say, and they all don't move.
"And I'll hurt…" I look down at the person I am holdings face and I notice it was Shot. A red raccoon with fire kingdom armor on.
"I'll hurt Shot. NOW MAKE A DECISION NOW or I'll make it for you." I say and everyone starts to look at each other.
A light conversation of voices starts talking and I start getting more and more eager to move.
"Ple-please let them go! I like my face!" Shot yells causing everyone to slowly drop their weapons and hands.
"Nice choice" I say, and I take the first step of walking up to them so I could get over the bridge.
Knuckles, Blaze, and Tails move in front of me so we can maintain our formation. I walk slowly as they watch our every move looking for a distraction. One of the guards that saw me the first time I came back to the kingdom after traveling with Amy looks at me in concern.
"Prince Sonic… you really wouldn't hurt him would you" The guard asks, and I stop walking as his question runs through my thought. I look at my guard I was holding, and I notice that I am hurting him quite a bit.
"No... I would never hurt my soldiers"
I let him go and he runs away from me jumping into the crowd of guards.
"Sonic what are you thinking?" Blaze asks and she readies up for battle.
"Sonic you dumbass. You let him go" Tails says eyeing everyone now.
"I… I was scaring him. These are my people and I would never hurt them" I say, and the guards all look at me in concern.
"Then why did you bring the water kingdom princess in here? Explain to us that. You lied to us Sonic." Says a random guard.
"Yeah we trusted you."
"And some of us still do trust you!" says who spoke first.
Some of the guards look at him like he is crazy, and others agree with him.
"You still trust me…" I say looking at them.
"They still trust me"
One guard gets on their knee bowing at my presence and then slowly others start to join. Some guards look at the other, not agreeing on fully trusting me yet but they slowly get on one knee as well. I watching everyone bow to me and I clench my fist.
"Some of them still support me. I- I have to do everything I can for them"
Knuckles, Blaze, and Tails lower their hands and watch the scene of my solders still being loyal.
"PRINCE GET DOWN" yells a guard who appears out of nowhere and jumps in front of me.
Suddenly a red flash of lightning comes my way and the guard jumps in the way. The lightening hits his body and everyone ducks as it connects with him. My eyes widen as he hits the ground and twitches a bit as the electricity runs through him.
"What just… what just happened…" I think as I look at his body. I stare his body as everyone starts to run near him and administer first aid. I slowly look up from where the blast came from and I see Cheyenne from far away floating in the sky. He is looking at me with a single tear coming down his eye and he charges another lightning blast in the palm of his hand by raising it in the air.
I widen my eyes as I notice this move. I look up to the sky and grey clouds start to form above us. I take a step back and I look at Cheyenne was trying to stop us. Kill us even. A hand grabs my arm and we jump down the wall and run into the forest up ahead. I still look back as we run into the forest as I watch Cheyenne.
"HE IS GOING TO BLOW THE ENTIRE PLACE UP. WE HAVE TO FIND COVER" Tails yells and it snaps me back into reality.
I turn back to see Tails holding my arm as I am obviously still in shock of everything that just happened. The dark clouds Cheyenne were forming suddenly make everything dark as it covers the sun and I watch as the sun light fades away in front of us. I look all around for a place for us to hide but I see nothing.
"I CAN'T FIND ANY COVER!" Blaze yells as she dashes through the forest.
A gust of wind picks up under us and everyone stops and looks around for some cover. The breathing of my friends who were trying to escape make me take everything like everything is moving in slow motion.
Cheyenne… he is really trying to kill me
I think as I look back at the thick grey clouds. I look down back down and everyone is yelling at each other trying to decide what to do before the lightning hit. I look at their distressed faces and then I slowly look to the left of me.
"A hole in a tree"
"Guys there is cover" I say pointing at that tree and they all look at it.
They all stand up and start running towards and the sound of thunder starts to appear. Blaze runs in the big tree hole first and then Knuckles and Tails. Tails looks back to me and his eyes widen. He yells something at me, but I can't hear him over the loud thunder above us. Knuckles peaks his out as well and waves me over but… I don't move.
I simply look up the sky and I fly all the way up going on top of the tree they were hidden in. The thunder was picking up and I walk on top of the tree they are on. I look back to where I could kind of see Cheyenne performing a great blast with the clouds.
"I'm…. I'm tired of people protecting me. I am tired the people I care about trying to protect me."
I think as I unwrap the bandage around my head, so I can see with my left eye. I let the bandage fall into the wind as I stare ahead at Cheyenne who was far away. Leaves and other debris start to fly past my face as I stare at Cheyenne from afar. My heart is beating calmly, and I exhale softly closing my eyes.
I open it and all can see is Cheyenne tiny frame from ahead of me and darkness. I inhale and exhale calmly and I speak into the darkness.
"What do I do?" I say looking ahead.
Suddenly an arm touches my arm. I look up to see my mom in fighting gear staring ahead at the danger about to hit.
"Wow, who would have thought Cheyenne would have the guts and glory to take on the Prince. Pitiful and I thought everyone would have just fell under your feet again but looks like a lot of people are over your choices, Sonic." My mom says looking forward with me.
"But what to do, hm. Well based on these clouds" My mom says and makes the darkness disappear from above us so we could see the sky.
"He is going to use Forked Lightning and Ribbon lightning all together. Such a hard technique. You only use it once a day and just only the lighting goes through the clouds hitting the ground, starting from Cheyenne to the end of the clouds… in one wave…so he is defiantly trying to either stop you or kill you… and if you dodge this than maybe you can still have a chance on escaping." My mom says.
"What is… ribbon and forked lightning?" I ask looking at her.
"Forked lightning is a technique cloud-to-ground lightning that exhibits branching of its path and well ribbon occurs in thunderstorms with high cross winds and multiple strokes. The wind will blow each successive stroke slightly to one side of the previous stroke, causing a ribbon appearance."
"So, he is trying to spread lightning throughout the entire forest" I ask looking around the forest.
"Bingo"
I look around look back down to Cheyenne and I feel my heart burn. I clench my fists as I stare ahead. My breathing starts to pick up and I feel anger run through my head. My mom then places her hands on my shoulders and leans in close to me to whisper in my ear.
"I think you know what to do" She says and then the darkness leaves.
Everything goes back to normal and I stare at Cheyenne. The voices of my friends echo from below, but I refuse to let them get hurt anymore because of me. Cheyenne slowly drops his hand and flashes of light starts to hit the ground. I watch them hit the ground and it disintegrate every tree. I fly up a bit, so I am not touching the tree awaiting the lightning to hit this area. The lightening comes fast and I watch it carefully as it nears me.
"SONIC GET DOWN PLEASE" yells Blaze as she stays safe in the tree.
"No…I have"
"SONIC MAN COME ON. DON'T DO THIS" Knuckle yells.
"I have to…"
"SONIC!" Tails yells.
"I have to protect the ones I care about!"
I raise my hands in the air awaiting the lightning and it starts to get so bright that I can't see. Suddenly I feel a big burst of lightning enter my body and it causes me to stumble a bit in the air. I clench it in my chest, and I feel it almost burn me alive. I scream out in pain, but I slowly raise my hand at where Cheyenne was at as I squeeze my eyes shut. Suddenly my body feels weak and out of energy as I try to send the lightning back out of my body. I drop my hand I clench my chest as the burning continues to roast me from the inside. I scream out in pain and then I open my eyes to see the darkness again. My mom gently grabs my arm and picks it up aiming it back at Cheyenne.
"Look you made the choice to save your friends and you saved them. All you have to do is breathe and let the lightning flow out of your hand." My mom says gently as the lightning burns inside me.
She grabs my finger and points it out forward. I look at my finger in pain and I notice red lightning sparking at it. My eyes widen and my mom lets go of my hand.
"Just breathe and…"
"SHOOT" says another female voice beside me that I couldn't recognize.
I exhale and the lightning flies from my finger and out near Cheyenne. The burning in my body stops and my eyes roll in the back of my head. My body shivers sending chills through it as I feel cold. I fall down from the tree I was protecting, and I slowly fall towards the ground. I notice the tree is in perfect contact and I smile a bit as I know that my friends are safe. My eyes feel heavy and weak, but I feel happy that they were safe.
…..
I slowly open my eyes to red arms, and I felt a light wind on my face. I felt a slight burning in my chest causing me to cough and sounds of voices come to my ears. I blink a couple times as I notice whoever is carrying me has stopped moving. They placed me on the ground, and I cough roughly causing them to lean me up a bit so I could breathe better, but it didn't work as much as I continued to cough from the burning of my chest. I feel my arms get raised and hands go on my cheeks. They slap my face lightly and then more voices boom louder.
I try to move my eyes but a wave of coldness flies through me. I shiver and I close my eyes.
"I feel so drained" I think as I feel myself falling asleep again.
…
My eyes open once again, and I can see kind of clear. I blink a couple of times so my vision could refocus, and I turn my head. I notice that I am pressed against someone's back and the person carrying me stops. They gently place me down on the ground against a tree and I move my hand to touch my head.
"Dizzy" I say and then I open my eyes to see Tails, Blaze and Knuckles looking at me in concern.
"He is moving his eyes!" Blaze says and Tails moves closer to me. He raises his finger in front of me and a small flame appears.
"Follow my finger Sonic" Tails says, and I look at it. I follow his finger and a smile appears on his face.
"Okay… you just had a little energy lost. That's okay, but I am sure you still feel pretty tired, hm? Tails asks and I nod my head.
"Sonic… why would you do that" Blaze says to me and I look at her.
"I couldn't lose anyone else because of my choices. Not anymore" I say roughly coughing in the end of my sentence.
"Hey, look no more asking questions until he is breathing properly." Tails says looking at my lungs.
"But wait where do we go now. We escaped by the way Sonic. Because of you, he hit everything else but the tree you protected….We also got away from Cheyenne and while we were running away, I looked around and saw no sight of Amelia anywhere so that means… she is probably taken… or something like that." Knuckles says to me.
"Re- Really" I say leaning up and Tails gently pushes me back down.
"Hey. Hey. Rest. You just took in the most powerful type of lightning, so you are going to be pretty tired. Your first shot of lightning too." Tails says, and I nod my head.
As I nod my head, I start to feel dizzy again and the world is moving to the left of me. I slowly feel myself moving left of the tree and Knuckles catches me just in time before I start spinning more rapidly.
"Ahhh! Tails he doesn't look that good and he just came back to us." Blaze says moving closer to me.
"He will be fine, Blaze. I promise" Tails says.
I feel hands on my face, and I open my eyes to see Tails looking at me.
"Where do you want to go search for her now? " Tails says.
I look at everyone weakly and then I look up at the sky. The sky was orange and it was going to be dark soon. My mind flashes back to when I was first with Amelia and walking to her kingdom to return her back.
"Her kingdom…. Asendel"
"Asendel" I say weakly and Blaze looks at me crazy.
"ASENDEL!? They will attack us head on" Blaze says.
"That's suicide" Knuckles says but Tails continues to look at me.
"If we go… to Asendel… then maybe Amelia will be there, and she can help us" I say.
"And if she isn't there" Tails questions and I smile at him.
"Then we are going to get captured and have to escape again. Besides they won't harm us maybe… well I did kidnap their princess. But if Amelia is there then we won't have to be afraid." I say.
"No. no. That's crazy. I have fought so many of their solders they would attack me on spot" Blaze says standing up.
"Let's do it" Tails says and tells Knuckles to help me up.
Knuckles puts me on his back, and I lean my head on his back as I feel myself about to go back to sleep.
"This is insane. We can't truly go in there and expect everyone to trust us" Blaze says.
"Well where else are we going to go. We are fugitives now and Asendel is the place for fugitives. Even if Amy isn't there and we are looked upon as criminals. It wouldn't hurt trying to get some information from them or some first aid for Sonic" Tails says.
Blaze stays quiet and folds her arms.
"Alright Sonic which way" Knuckles says, and I open my eyes and I look around. I notice debris and bushes and that we were already super close to where we needed to be.
"Straight ahead until you find a brick pathway." I say.
We start walking towards who knows what will happen. But it was all based off my choice and if this choice was wrong it was possibly going to get us killed but we have to risk everything to make the world equal because if we don't then everything will be for nothing. I close my eyes to the sounds of Knuckles steps, and I feel myself fall asleep.
