AMY POV
The door opens wide and I make eye contact with Silver who is looking at me in shock as he looks down to the floor to see my hair on it. Silver removes the scissors from my hand and places it back in the drawer and then he sits me on the counter. He moves around and grabs me a tissue and dabs the tears from coming of my eyes.
"Princess… what you have done. Your hair- "
"I'm over the past. I needed something to set me free. I felt scared. I still feel scared and I feel like… I am losing part of who I am." I say as more tears run down my face.
Silver nods his head and reaches for me, but I retract backwards.
"Please don't touch me anymore. I will be fine" I say, and Silver moves his arms back down to his side.
"You don't look fine. You can talk to me about it if you want. I know you have been through a lot in the past couple of days so I can understand your feelings right now." He says and I don't respond.
"Of course, they are nice to me because I am a princess but… I just don't feel like that anymore"
I sniffle and wipe more of my tears off and Silver watches me for a moment and then leaves the bathroom for a moment. I look down at the hair on the ground and I start to pick it up and throw it in the trash. My torso hurts a bit as I reach for another strand of hair and then the door opens again. I look over to see Silver holding bandages and a small bag of things and I try to stand up, but my torso sends a sharp pain in me and I fall back to the ground and Silver moves quickly to me.
"Here, let me." Silver says and he picks me up from the ground gently.
Instead of fighting back since I was in so much pain, I let him pick me up and places me back on the bathroom counter. He places the bandages down beside me and then looks at my torso.
"You should calm it down a bit with the moving… you are kind of opening the wounds up" he says and places his hand on my torso and touches the soreness and bruises on it.
I wince after he touches me, and he moves his hand away quickly.
"Sorry… I guess I just contradicted what I said" he says causing me to laugh a bit only for my torso to hurt again.
"Ah- sorry I'll- just stop talking" Silver says as he causes me to have pain again.
Silver reaches in his bag and pulls out a white cloth. He the grabs a green bottle filled with some substance and pours it on the cloth. I watch him carefully as he places the bottle on the counter, and he looks at me with it in his hand. He then moves his hand to me, and I scoot back a bit and he stops.
"What's that" I ask, and he picks up the bottle and brings it close to my face.
"It's just something that helps to clean the wound, the floaty stuff is different herbs and such" he says and I nod my head slowly, not really agreeing with him putting that on me but it's not like I have energy to heal myself at this moment.
"Alright" I say, and I scoot closer to him causing him to smile a bit.
He moves the towel to my wound and presses on it gently causing me to shiver as the liquid from the bottle was cold. He pats it and looks at my wound to make sure he cleaned it the best he could.
"You guys make medicine?" I ask and Silver looks up and nods his head, while reaching for the bandages.
"Yeah. Since Air benders typically can't heal, we have to make our own healing methods. I actually made this batch myself so you should be brand new sooner or later." Silver says happily.
Silver places the bottle down and then unwraps some of the bandages. I look down to my legs and I notice dirt on them making me feel dirty and realize how long it has been since I showered.
"Um… you wouldn't mind if I showered, would you-?" I ask and I look up to Silver struggling to get the bandages unwrapped. He has the bandages in his mouth, and he drops it from it, and he blushes.
"Oh- Right. Right. I forgot to ask you that. Yes, you can shower if you like… I'll just- "Silver picks up the bandages he dropped and then first aid kit her brought in.
"I'll just take this outside and I can get your clothes Marine left for you" he says and scurries out of the room after getting the medical stuff.
I laugh a bit and I try to lean myself down from the counter, but the pain causes me to stop. I groan in annoyance and Silver comes back in and places the clothes on my counter. Silver notices I haven't moved, and he looks at me questionably.
"It hurts to move a bit" I say, and Silver moves fast to help me down from the counter.
He places his hand on my waist and then on my back to place me on the floor gently.
"Sorry. I forgot." he says as my feet hit the floor and I touch his shoulder causing him to look at me.
"It's fine. You have already done so much for me so thanks again." I say and he blushes again.
Silver stares into my eyes for a moment and then he notices that his hand was still on my waist and he removes it. I look down to him moving his hand away and he takes a step back making me look at him in the eye in confusion. He looks back up to me and he moves his mouth to say something, but nothing comes out.
"…um. I am going to shower now." I say softly and he blushes again and nods his head understanding.
He walks to the door and before he walks out, he turns back to me.
"If you need help undressing, I'll help- NO WAIT! I mean I'll get Marine to help you. I meant I'll get you help because me helping you undress is entirely inappropriate and I wouldn't want you to feel uncomfortable or anything- "
As Silver tries to find his words, I slowly start to smile and laugh at his nervousness and Silver blushes more.
"I knew what you meant, its fine." I say while laughing and Silver shyly nods his head and walks out of the room.
The door closes and I reach down to take off my shorts and underwear letting it drop from my body. I then slowly reach for my bra and I unclip it. A soreness radiates from my body causing me to grunt in pain, but I ignore it as I finally get the final clip from my bra and it drops to the floor. I move my clothes on the floor into a pile with my feet and my body catches my eye making me look at myself.
I look at the bruises on my shoulder and torso and I slowly move my hand to my torso looking at my damaged body. I walk a bit closer and I look at my neck. I turn my neck a bit and I notice another bruise… not one Tails created but the one Sonic made from my night with him. I move my hand to it, and I sigh as I rub it gently. I also look at my face and I notice when I cut my hair that it now stops above my shoulders and that it was also still black. I turn to the shower and I walk to it slowly, trying not to hurt myself. I lift one leg at a time entering the stone shower and I turn the water on.
The water comes out and rains over my head softly as it soaks my hair. I sigh in relief as I feel the warm water slide down my chest and to my calf. I reach up to touch my hair with my good arm and I run my hand through my hair. I look down and I see a faint black stream run down with the water, into the drain.
"Bye black hair" I think as I continue showering.
I turn the water off after my sort of short shower and I move my wet hair from my face. I water bender the water off my body and I let it drop in the shower so I could be somewhat dry. I step out and I walk to the clothes laid out for me. I put them on slowly, making sure not to hurt myself and I look at myself in the mirror.
"Well… this is kind of different" I say as I touch the fabric on my thighs.
I have on an olive-green halter crop top and ivory shorts that stopped right above my knee. The shorts also had a tattered material on the back of it and it looked like I had a cape on my shorts. They also gave me small ivory bracelets and I was also given a pair of sandals that I slip on last.
I turn away from the mirror and I open the door to see Silver sitting on my bed, prepping his medical gear to patch me up again. Silver turns back and looks me up and down.
"You look great and woah pink hair" Silver says, and I smile a bit touching my short of wet hair.
"Thank you" I say, and I walk to him.
Silver gets up and pats the spot he was just sitting in and I take his spot. I winch again as the soreness echoes throughout me and Silver takes one of the bandages.
"Are you still pretty sore?" he asks, and I nod my head.
"I can give you meds for pain after you eat so you can at least move around." He says.
"Medication for pain? It stops pain?" I question and Silver nods his head.
"Wow, you guys are so advanced over here." I say and Silver shrugs his shoulders and laughs while moving closer to place the first bandage on me.
"Well, we definitely try to stay with things even though we are cut from the war out there" Silver says as he wraps the first bandage tight around me.
"I can't blame them for hiding up the in mountains. Air benders are so scarce out there so they are probably just trying to survive and stay out of all this" I think as I watch Silver focus on putting the bandages on me correctly.
Seconds pass and silence fills the room and occasionally the sound of bandages. Silver stands up and I look down looking at my fresh new bandages and I smile a bit.
"Okay…time for your arm" he says, and I nod my head and I move my short, damp, hair behind my ear.
I raise my arm slightly and Silver starts to bandage that one.
"So…what's the prince like?" Silver asks.
"Oh… well he is just like what everyone says… hot headed but he is a lot nicer than you think but at the same time he is very violent… he has a kind heart but… shows it in the oddest way" I say and Silver nods his head and then he starts to blush a bit.
"I was just curious… because when I first bandaged you up, I saw bruises but they weren't exactly like bruises you get from fighting but- Like bruises you get from doing other things…" Silver says and I blush immediately as the secret I thought I could keep to myself is now out.
Silver looks at me as I didn't respond he chuckles a bit.
"So, you guys were a thing, I am assuming?" Silver asks and I sigh.
"Something like that." I say softly now looking at my hands.
"I see. How was it though? Being with the fire prince. I just feel like you seem so nice and kind so you "dating" the complete opposite of you must have been a wild ride" Silver says and then I tilt my head a bit trying to think of how to answer.
"…It was nice. Honestly… I don't think I have ever felt anything like that before. I felt free, scared and happy all at the same I was with him… he was really sweet" I say as I think about our little happy moments.
"But now… I don't think I want to be with him anymore. It's just too much right now and he is way different than I thought he was."
"Is it because you got kicked out?" Silver says and I shake my head.
"He… he killed a lot of people and my master a long time ago… I feel like if I were to continue dating someone like that based on their past then how would I project to my people and other people around me." I say and Silver nods his head agreeing.
"He also lied to me. He never told me anything about killing Cosmo- Not one thing… I thought we were having a connection, but I guess not. I barely know him, and I feel like who knew he would have to tell me, but he didn't, so I feel lied to over and over again" I think to myself as I clench my fist.
"Why didn't you just tell me the truth. Why- "
"Ow!" Silver says snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Are you okay?"
Silver shakes his finger and places it in his mouth and finishes wrapping me up.
"Yeah. Yeah. I think I just cut myself with this bandage or something? Either way that hurt. Feels like I burned myself- "
The door busts open and Marine walks in with a cart of food. She pushes it towards us and smiles brightly at me, looking me up and down.
"Princess Amelia you look great- OH MY GOD YOUR HAIR! SO, IT REALLY IS YOU!" Marine says causing me to laugh awkwardly.
"Thank you and yes the pink hair is back" I say and Marine laughs.
She moves the cart in front of me and then stands beside it with her hand behind her back. Like she is a butler.
"For Today's Lunch! We are serving…"
Marine opens the tray of food and food on the platter makes my stomach growl intensely.
"We have Potato Curry with a side of water and lemon. French bread made fresh from our chefs and I also added some oranges and fruit so you could get some of your energy back. Also, Lady Tikal told me to add some of our special rehydrating herb serum as well because she said you were shriveling!" Marine says causing me to blink twice at the rude comment made towards me.
"That was rude of her-
"Please enjoy Princess!" Marine yells cutting Silver off.
"Thank you so much" I say, and I grab the fork and start eating immediately.
I fork the first potato I see, and I place it in my mouth causing Marine to stare at me concerning and point at my food.
"I was going to say the food is super-hot but… seems like you can take the heat. Haha." Marine says shrugging her shoulders.
I look down at the food and I notice that it is steaming.
"Hm, you have a point" I say, and I smile at her and she blushes after I speak to her.
I eat slowly and I look back at her and Silver clears his throat breaking the silence.
"Well, me and Marine have training to do so, whenever you are done. We will be outside in the practice area. It's outside the building and more into the main area of the palace. You should come if you like! Everyone trains. "Silver says and I nod my head.
"Wow sounds interesting. I will come". I say and Silver smiles at me.
"Cool. See you soon. Come you conehead" Silver says to Marine and grabs her by the shirt.
"I'm not a conehead, you fart!" Marine yells causing me to laugh.
As they argue, they leave the room and I watch the door close. I start to scarf down the food and I feel tears prickly at my eyes as the food taste so amazing.
Time passes on and after I was done eating the amazing food I was served. I slowly crept into the bed and slept for a couple hours. Until the sky was a dark blue and the sun was staring to set.
I opened my eyes and I yawned loud as I turn on the other side of the bed. I look at the door and I think about how I promised Silver that I would go watch them practice and I didn't. My eyes flicker to the doorknob as I wonder if they have checked on me. I slowly stand up and my sore body continues to tell me I am sore, but I do feel a lot better than before. I feel energized so I stretch my arms softly as I make my way to the door.
I open the door and I peak my head out and I see absolutely no one. I look the other way down the hall and then I step out. I bring my fold my arms together as I try to remember how to get out of here. I walk left down the hall and I notice a gap was in the floor. I look around for stairs and I realize that there are none.
"Well…" I say softly as I try to think of a way to get down.
I bend down and I look down the in the gap and I see the water fountain from earlier. I water bender the water to me and I create a frozen slide for myself. I smile at my creation and I slide down the ice and I laugh at myself at the speed until I hit the ground and I slide a bit on their white marble floor. I stand up slowly and I move the water back to the fountain returning it to its place. I walk out to the entrance and I walk out, and I still see no one.
It is also very quiet, and the air isn't as misty and humid as it was before. I step down the stairs from the palace and my feet touches the cool white stones below me. I walk carefully through the front area of the palace and I look around for anyone, since I am new here.
A breeze flies through my hair and goes to the right making me turn my head that way. I notice an exit and I start to walk that way. The silence in palace makes me look up and all around in confusion. I walk out of the area of the building I was just in and I look around at the palace. There was no one but and the houses seemed like no one was in them as well. I look around some more and I drop my hands beside me.
"Hello?" I say out loud not getting a response from anyone.
Another breeze then flies past me and flies left of me, making me look that way.
"This is scary" I think as I look the direction the wind came, and I saw no one.
I turn back left of the palace and I start to walk that way a bit quicker. The wind pushes through me again and I continue to walk that way. The wind starts to get more violent and I stop walking as it throws my hair forward in the air.
"I think the wind is trying to get me to go a certain way-"
"Am I not going the right way- "
I stop talking as the wind sweeps me off my feet and lifts me in the air. I try to move out of the winds force but I have no way of controlling myself. I yelp out as the wind shoots me in the air and holds me carefully. I try to move out of its grip, but the wind moves me around trapping me in its pull.
"Let go of me!" I yell at the wind and I give up as I notice how high I was.
I close my eyes as the wind start to move me higher in the sky. The wind flies violently through my hair and then it suddenly stops as the wind starts to become calmer. I slowly open my eyes and I gasp at the beautiful scenery.
"The sun… it's so pretty." I say softly as I look at the sunset into the ocean and past a couple more mountains. I blink softly as I look at the purples, yellows, orange and pinks created by the sky and the calm ocean that surrounds it and the tall mountains that were standing near it like it was guarding it. The wind holds me up like I am sitting in a chair as I stare forward into the world. A glimpse of light hits the corner of my eye in the forest making me look that way. I stare at it and I squint as the light comes and goes.
"What is tha- "
Suddenly the wind brings me back down and I close my eyes again as it moves me so fast. Instead of going straight down the wind takes me to the side of the palace quickly and I start to see lights again. Multiple lights with different hues of purple, orange, and reds. The wind moves me closer, still holding me in the air and until I am above the lights. I look around carefully as the wind doesn't move.
"Mysterious wind, please don't drop me. I'm begging, I am already injured and- "
A small purple lantern floats in front of me in the dark sky. I stare at it cautiously and I notice there is a note on the side of it. I reach for it, but it moves away from my reach. The lantern then moves around me slowly and I watch it carefully as it floats around me. It comes closer to me again and this time it lets me grab it. I look at it carefully and I flip it around to look for the note I saw. I see the note on the lantern, and I take it off to read it.
"Surprise?" I say in confusion and I look inside the lantern for the surprise.
Another red lantern appears, and I stare at it in confusion. I reach out to grab that one as well until another orange lantern appears beside to the right of me. They all start to move to right of me, orbiting me like I am a planet and more appear. They start to float up and around me, lighting up the sky with their pretty colors. I bring the one with a note closer to me as I watch the lanterns float around me gracefully. The wind then leans me back more causing me to jump but I calmly ease myself down as I look up to the sky. Suddenly I notice more light is coming from below me and the hundreds of lanterns starts swirling around me and going up into the sky. The wind gently pushes past my hair as I watch the pretty colors of the lanterns
"Wow…. Why am I seeing this" I say softly as I watch the tornado of lanterns move around me?
I gently feel myself getting lowered to the ground causing me to lean up slowly as I lean the tornado of lanterns. I move lower and lower and the barrier of lanterns is making it hard to see what is around me. The wind places me on the white stone ground and I look around at the lanterns that were still surround me in the vortex of pretty colors and they soon start to disperse, and I start to legs in front of me. A lot of legs.
As the lanterns lift, I look up the legs of the people standing behind the vortex and I bring my legs away from them. A gust of wind hits me in the face causing me to close my eyes.
"Surprise!" Voices yell causing me to jump and open my eyes.
I look around I notice that all the palace folk were looking at me excitedly and 3 of them were Tikal, Marine, and Silver. I look at them confused and I try up slowly looking at all of them.
"…surprise for what" I say awkwardly, and Silver looks at me confused.
Everyone starts to laugh, and I chuckle back with them but completely lost at the same time.
"It's… your birthday, right? September 23rd?" Silver says and my eyes widen.
"My birthday… I think I forgot…did I really forget my birthday"
Tikal notices my awkwardness and then moves to me.
"Everyone today's is Princess Amelia birthday! It seems like she forgot but let's make her day the greatest as possible! Start the music!" Tikal says making everyone cheer and the music from a small band start to play light music. Everyone starts to walk away to enjoy my surprise party as I stand there still shocked and confused.
"Hey. Did you really forget?" Tikal says and I nod my head as I hold onto the lantern still.
Tikal laughs and I blush heavily until Silver walks up.
"Sorry for the forceful wind. You move a lot, so I had to use a lot more wind power." Silver says and I laugh a bit.
"So- the wind, was you? And the carrying was you!" I ask and Silver laughs and nods his head.
"Did you like the lanterns! It took us a few hours to make but we did it just in time!" Marine says and I nod my head.
"Yes, I did. I am still quite shock, really" I say blushing a bit at the nice jester.
"How did you all know? And how did you set up all of this" I say walking past Tikal to point at all the decorations, food, and tables they had.
The area was lit with orange lanterns everywhere making the party look very festive. There were streams of tiny lanterns everywhere and surround the party in a long rectangle shape. There were plenty of tables for people to sit and of course at the front of the party was a tiny band playing instruments that looked like were made from wood and wire. There was also a buffet of food filled with a lot of different things making the area of my party smell divine.
"Yeah, Silver told us after you were asleep that it was your birthday, and everyone knows when it was your birthday. You are the Princess of Asendel after all" Tikal says, and I blush again.
"I-I don't know what to say. You all have treated me so well and I have never been treated like this before, especially going to another palace." I say shyly and Silver laughs and places his hand on my back and starts to walk into the party with me.
"Look don't sweat it! I thought it would be nice after everything you went through and I also hope this doesn't freak you out too bad" Silver says making me laugh.
I walk in with Silver and I look around at the people dancing and chatting. Some of the eyes move to mine and they bow and blush a bit as they are nervous to speak to me.
"I suppose I should go speak to the people who helped set this up as well." I say turning to Silver.
Silver smiles at my comment and I bring Silver into a hug.
"Thanks for being so kind to me. I didn't really deserve anything you have done for me, but I really am thankful for your kindness." I say and I feel silver arms wrap around my body.
I release the hug and I smile at him with my hands behind my back.
"We need more people like you in world." I say softly smiling at him and he starts to blush again.
"Anytime. But-but go enjoy your party!" Silver says and I nod my head.
I turn around and I walk to a group of people who looked they were my age and I greet them politely. They start to get excited and one girl runs up to me and asks for a hug. I hug her and the rest of them come over and start talking to me excitedly.
"Wow, they are so nice" I think as a young girl walks up to me with an orange bracelet.
"A gift from us!" She says and I bend down to her height and I hold my arm out.
She places the sparkly orange bracelet on my arm, and I look at it adoringly. I look back to her and I smile at her.
"I'll wear it all the time" I say to her and she smiles cutely.
She gives me a hug and I hug her back. I slowly stand back up and one of the citizens fans me over to the food which I was personally excited about.
"Princess! Please try some of our food!" Says one of the chefs.
I nod my head and I get handed a plate with various types of foods. The chef hands me and a fork, that I thank him for and then I taste the food and of course it is delicious.
As I eat my food, some of the guests fan me over to sit with them and chat. I walk over and sit down, and they start talking about their palace and all the things they do. Older woman and men walk in on the conversation as well and I listen to their stories as well as they tell me their ways of living. I listen carefully listening to all of them talk and speak as they even have different accents than my do. I take in their culture as the lanterns light the party with a happy ambiance. Time passes by and after many conversations the music stops causing me to look up and around in confusion. The music starts to sound slow and sweet making me look around in confusion. The lanterns dim down and the sounds of the voices start to go silent.
"Um, what is happening" I ask the group of people in front of me and they just smile and shrug their shoulders.
I turn around and I gasp as I see Silver holding a cake. I smile and I turn around facing away from the surprise cake they brought me, and I blush heavily.
The cake gets placed in front of me and I open my eyes, placing hands over my mouth as I look at the cake. The cake is decorated with strawberries and white icing, with shreds of strawberry on the top. They are also white drizzling on the sides of the cake too and white candles on top dance as happy as I feel right now.
I look up at Silver and he smiles at me.
"Happy Birthday" he says and then steps back for me to look at the cake.
I look around at all the smiling faces and then I look back at the cake. I grasp my hands together under the table as I try to find the words to say how I feel right now.
"Um- Thank you all for your kind hearts of letting me into your palace. I didn't expect this at all, and your random act of kindness is truly so kind. Um… If you guys ever need help with anything, Asendel has your back fully. I promise to return your kindness you gave to me somehow." I say and everyone claps after I speak.
I look down to the candles and I move my short hair behind my ear as the candles look back at me. I close my eyes and I inhale thinking of my wish.
"My wish… I wish for… equality for everyone. I wish to have the strength to change the world for good. I want the power to do it. I want to make everyone thing peaceful. For the people of Lera…Asendel… Equalist… and the fire kingdom. That's my wish. I need the strength to stop it all because as of now… I don't have it, but I need it. That's my wish."
I blow my candles out and I open my eyes. Everyone starts to clap for me and then the lanterns come back on and so does the music, but this time the music is upbeat. Everyone starts to clap to the fast tempo of the song, and I start to clap with them. I suddenly get raised up in my chair causing me to squeal until I notice that 2 guys are holding my chair in the air as I sit in it.
I clench onto the chair and they start bringing it up and down to the beat of the music. Everyone starts to dance around me as I am held in the air and I smile slowly. I start to clap my hands to the song and laugh as the strong men hold me up in the air.
"Happy birthday to the Princess!" they all yell on cue with the song.
"Wow… this is so nice" I think as I enjoy the celebration of my day of birth.
An hour passes over and everyone is still having a great time at the celebration. The cake was great as well and completely wiped out since everyone had a slice. I have also been dancing for a while, so I walk away from the group of people and my eye hits Tikal who is sitting on a bench, smiling at me. I walk up to her and I wave at her as I sit down next to her.
"Enjoying the party?" Tikal says as she drinks some kind of beverage from her cup she was holding.
"Yes! I haven't really had this much fun in a while so… thank you" I say as I sit down with her, on the bench.
"There really is no reason for you to thank us… you have been out there every day. Trying to save the world all on your own. I think this party was well deserved." She says making me look back at the people dancing.
"… when was the last time you had a break?" Tikal asks, causing me to look at her and then slowly back down at my feet.
"…probably. When I was in the fire kingdom… well sort of. I don't if hiding for your life is a break." I say as I remember how I would have to try to keep myself hidden when I was at the fire kingdom.
Tikal touches my hair and I look back to her light blue eyes. She looks at it with it in between her fingers and then she smiles at me softly.
"I meant like a mental break. I noticed you cut your hair so, you must have had a break, didn't you?" she says.
"Oh, so she noticed…"
I don't respond as I look away from and into my hands that are resting on my lap.
"You know… The poison… in here" she says as she touches my forehead causing me to look at her.
"It leaves bit by bit, not all at once. Be patient… because I think you are healing." she says and removes her finger from my forehead.
"Healing from what… honestly. I don't even know why I feel hurt. All I feel is lost and scared now. I don't think I have felt this afraid before in my life because I don't know if I'll be strong enough to face what is to come next time." I say looking off into the sky.
"I mean look at me. I'm all beat up and I can barely heal myself… I cut my hair and I forgot my own birthday. Geez… what is happening to me." I say laughing a bit and Tikal laughs too.
"Yes, you are beaten pretty bad, but you are strong enough to face it all, even if it doesn't feel like it right now." Tikal says making me look at her.
I look over to my bandaged shoulder and I take in the words she said to me.
"I'm already strong enough?"
I look over to her to see what she means and then I notice that her eyes are lit up and she blinks, and it goes away to her normal color eyes. She turns around behind her and smiles, making me turn around as well to see where she was looking.
"Hey, Shadow! You almost missed the party. Tikal says as Shadow stares at me with his red eyes. He clenches his fist and turns on his heel and starts to walk towards the exit of the palace. I watch him walk away and I frown at his rudeness.
"You should go follow him. Maybe you guys can become friends, if you all talk. It would sure make Silver happy." Tikal says.
I stand up and I nod my head.
"You are right. I'll be back then!" I say as I walk quickly to Shadow who is already so far ahead of me.
I finally get near the exit of the palace and I watch Shadow walk through it with his hands in his green pockets. I walk faster trying to catch up with him, but he continues to walk fast as well.
"Hey!" I say as I notice that he is trying to get away from me. The moon shines on his back as he continues to ignore me.
My torso soreness once again causes me to slow down, but I ignore it as I start to job to catch up with him. I close the gap in between us a bit and I smile as I think is actually going to let up.
"…heh." I hear him say under his breath.
Shadow blast off down the mountain, hopping on trees and pillars here and there but he is making his way down to another area that was way clear than it was before when Silver brought me up here. I watch him dash down the mountain and I frown at his stubbornness.
"Hey! All I am trying to do is make up things with you!" I yell as I watch him move away farther.
He continues to go down the mountain until he is sort of turning into a tiny spec.
"Fine." I say as I move my short hair behind my ears.
I walk backwards to the entrance of the palace and then I start running towards where Shadow went but instead, I water bend water from a trees around me and I shoot myself straight in the air… soaring through the humid summer wind as I watch Shadow move tree to tree. I spin in the air, gracefully and I gather the moister from the air. I blast myself from the sky, aiming for Shadow. I squint my eyes as I sweep down the mountain getting closer and closer to him. I notice shadow still has not noticed that I was headed for him and I smile a bit as my plan is working.
"I got you now!"
Shadow then looks behind him last moment before I get close to him and turns around while jumping on a tree. He moves his arm out of his pocket and aims at me, smiling.
"Fuck- "
A blast of air hits me and I fly back over the forest of trees. I close my eyes as the wind sends me back far and then I open them as I don't feel the pressure from the wind anymore. I notice that I am falling, and I water bend a branch, making it surround my arm, that isn't injured, and I launch myself back towards him. I fly in the air again but this time I land on a tree and I start to jump tree to tree like he was doing.
Shadow looks back again and laughs and shakes his head as he notices getting rid of me wouldn't be that easy. He looks forward and keeps on moving away from by jumping tree to tree. My torso pings in pain but ignore because I wasn't about let some cocky guy, treat me like I am some unexperienced water bender.
I jump off another tree to another still trying to get close to him, but he continues to not let up and keeping a distance between us. As I chase Shadow, I realize that we are on the middle of the mountain and that he was letting me chase him pretty far from the palace.
"HEY! I AM JUST TRYING TO TALK!" I yell as I am over his bullshit.
Shadow turns around and continues to jump backwards not watching what he is stepping on.
"Talk for what. You aren't going to be at my palace for any longer, so I have nothing to associate with you." he says, and I grit my teeth.
"But you are obviously angry at me- "
"SNAP"
The tree branch I just stepped on snaps in half causing me to fall downward into the forest. I water bend to catch myself before I fall down, but a thick branch hits my shoulder causing me to yelp out in pain as it hits my hurt shoulder. I grab my shoulder in pain and I open my eyes to see that I was nearing the hard ground.
"Great. I am about to break more bones- "
Hands catch my body causing me to open my eyes slowly as I feel no pain in my back that was supposed to touch the ground. I look up to see Shadow looking me more annoyed than usually. He drops me on the ground, and I plop on the ground.
"Ow!" I say as I rub my back.
Shadow places his hand back in his pockets and then turns away from me.
I smile to myself as I quickly stand on one hand and I whip my feet around. I water bend with my feet using the water from the trees and I aim them right for Shadow. Shadow stops suddenly and tries to spot the water from hitting him but it's too late. I freeze it around his arms and torso making him stop walking.
"Ha! I got you!" I say sitting on the ground and watching him frozen in my ice trap.
"You did get me." Shadow says and sighs heavily.
"Alright so now you have to talk to me- "
My ice breaks in pieces as Shadow blows it up by using air bending from his mouth. I blink slowly as I watch him start to walk away while wiping some of the ice pellets from his arms.
"Hey, wait" I yell, and I try to get up, but my torso tells me otherwise as it hurts to move.
I fall forward and I try to pick myself up as Shadow continues to walk away. I down at the ground as I try to fight the pain but it's no use. I over did it.
"Why aren't you moving." Shadow asks making me look up at him.
The shadows from the trees dance over his body making his red eyes shin in the dim light from the moon.
"Well, I'm still injured a bit, but I am fine." I say trying to stand up, but I fail to even get on my foot.
Shadow then walks up to me and I watch him carefully. I look around his body waiting for him to blast me somehow, but his hands are still in his pockets and his mouth is closed. I notice that Shadow has a burn on his forearm that was a bit darker than his skin tone, but it was faded to where you could only see it if you were close enough to him. My eyes then wonder up his strong arms making me remembered how built this guy was. He definitely has been training a lot… like a lot.
He bends down to me and moves his arms around my legs causing me to blush and he picks me up bridal style, carefully and starts to walk into the forest.
"Uh- Where are you taking me, and I DON'T NEED YOUR HELP!" I say as he carries me, somewhere, were I don't even know recognize.
"A pond." He says and then shoots himself out of the forest.
He flies on top of the forest and then blast over them flying over a tree and then he stops. He drops down causing me to close my eyes as we head back towards the ground. He flies back into the forest and then slowly stops himself as his feet touch the grassy ground. I open my eyes gently and I look around to see a small pond and an old bench near it. The pond is crystal clear and has leap pads floating on them as well. He walks closer to it and I notice that the moon is reflecting from it as well.
I also look up to notice that there this is a big hole in the forest as the pond rests in the corner of the forest. Shadow walks into the water until his calves are touching them and he places me down gently. I feel the water soak my pants as I get placed into the warm water and I look back at up at him.
"You can heal right?" he asks like I am stupid or something making me frown and blush.
"Yes! I can!" I say and I water bended myself away from him by pushing myself deeper in the water.
Shadow walks away as the water splashes with every step he takes. He gets out and sits down while bringing his legs up so he could rest his strong arms on them, and he watches me in the water with a bored expression.
My eye twitches in annoyance and I turn away from him as I start to heal myself. A bright blue aura comes from the water and sounds my body as I heal. I exhale in relief as the soreness from my torso subsides.
I then lean back as gently trying not to hurt my shoulder any more than I have already, and I sink myself into the water. I close my eyes as my head touches the bottom of the pond.
I heal my body powerfully as the moon shines through the water. I smile softly as I don't feel pain anymore. Suddenly my shoulder starts to burn, and I open my eyes and fling myself out of the water.
"What was that."
I think to myself as water drips from my wet hair on top my face. I slowly touch my shoulder as the burning feeling subsides.
"It felt like I was on fire-
"Did you see a snake or something?" Shadow asks making me snap out of my thoughts.
I look at him and I stand up from the water. Shadow has the same expression that makes me want to punch him in the face immediately.
"No, I saw a mean hedgehog in front of me, who blasted me through a house when I was weak!" I say stomping out of the water as water drips down my legs and arms.
"You attacked Silver. What did you expect me to do?" he says to me making me growl.
"EVEN AFTER THAT YOU STILL TRIED TO BLAST ME OFF THIS ISLAND!" I yell at him and he rolls his eyes at my remark.
"Okay, and I'll still do it. You do realize that I see you as a threat. I know you are smart, if you are a princess" Shadow says and stands up.
I finally make it out of the water, and I walk up to Shadow getting up in his face.
"Well, I'm fully healed now! So, if you want a rematch then you got it!" I say while standing on my tippy toes.
Shadow takes his hand out of his pocket and I jump into a fighting stance. Shadow watches me and chuckles. He moves his hand towards me, and I watch it carefully. He places holds his hand out and I look at it confusingly wondering what he was about to do. Suddenly air pushes me forward and my chin lands in his hand. I open my eyes and look at him as he brings my chin upward to his face.
"Hm, you are cute when you are mad too and also when you aren't threating the life of my friend." He says causing me to blush madly.
"Get off me!" I say loudly as I smack his hand away from my chin and I stumble back a bit.
"Heh, I was just teasing- "
Shadow stops talking and his eyes widen as he stares at me. I look at him in confusion as I watch the hair on his head move slightly from a light breeze of wind.
"BOOM."
I jump back and shield myself from a huge blast that comes out of nowhere. I open my eyes and my eyes widen as the blast goes all the way in the sky. The fire spins violently into the sky moving over the moon's light. I notice the blast is way back on the other side of the mountain and it still created a loud noise causing me to flinch as I did. I watch the explosion dance in the sky and Shadow slowly turns around and stares at it.
"The mountain…" I hear him say softly and his hands come out of his pockets. I notice that the burns I saw on his forearm go all the way down his middle, index, and thumb as well. Shadow then starts to levitate and then he turns back to me with an intense expression.
"I'll deal with this! Go back to the palace now!" he yells and takes off into the smoky sky.
"WAIT! WHAT ABOUT YOU!" I yell as he flies away.
He doesn't respond to me and I curse to myself as I take off into the forest heading towards the mysterious explosion.
