Season 3 Opening Intro(Halo by Starset)(I don't own the song)
We start our story with a flashback. It was World War II, and the Nazis invaded Paris.
Near the Eiffel Tower, a young Wang Fu and Marianne Lenoir were running from Nazis.
"Wait! We have to fight, Fu!" Marianne said as they stopped near the Seine. "Let's use the Miraculous: I'll take the Ladybug and you take the Black Cat!"
"But what if we fail? They'll get hold of this box and it will mean the end of the world!" Fu said before grasping Marianne's hand. "Come with me; we'll be safe in England." Marianne, however, pulls her hand out of his grasp. "Marianne?"
"Leave without me — I'd rather stay and resist, even without the Miraculous!" Marianne said firmly. "Plus, Ashley and Falx will need my help."
Fu takes a button with the Chinese ideogram 爱, meaning love, from his tie and fastens it to Marianne's blouse; he then places his hands on her upper arms.
"I'll come back for this...and you!" He shouted.
"I'll be waiting for you, right here, every day!" Marianne said, holding Fu's clenched fist.
"Marianne, I've never told you this, but I—" Fu said, only for Marianne to place a finger on his mouth.
"Shh... Tell me when you come back!" She said.
That's when a red search light falls on Marianne.
"Over there! Catch them!" A Nazi soldier shouted.
"Now, go!" Marianne shouted before she and Fu ran in opposite directions.
"Come on! Faster! The box! We must get the box!" The Nazi soldier shouted.
Waking up with a start, Drake looked around his darken room while breathing heavily.
"What was that?" He asked himself as he looked out his bedroom window into the night sky. "Did I... did I gaze into Fu's past?"
Morning soon came, and Drake just finished getting dressed.
"So what are your plans for today?" Spyro asked as he and Cynder landed on Drake's shoulders.
"Well, Mom is taking me and the rest of the family to the Royal Wedding in England with Adrien and Mr. Agreste. Well, except grandma and grandpa, as they have other things to deal with." Drake said as he straightens his shirt out. "Luckily, Kagami and her mother are coming too."
"I bet you'll be imagining yourself and Kagami up there~" Cynder said in a teasing tone, getting a blush from Drake.
Meanwhile, with Marinette, the bluenette enters Fu's massage shop and finds Fu lying on his bed, looking weak, with Ashley, Falx, and a Doctor by his side.
"Marineeeeettte!" Fu groaned in pain.
"Doctor, is Master—" Marinette said before covering her mouth. "I mean— grandpa okay?"
"Of course he is. You know what men are like: one little hiccup and they think they're dying." The doctor said in a cheerful tone.
"My time has come!" Fu said dramatically before passing wind, getting annoyed sighs from Ashley and Falx and a relief one from Marinette.
"Here you go; fetch this from the pharmacy and he'll be back on his feet in no time." The doctor said, handing Marinette a prescription. The doctor then begins to leave. "And don't forget to eat more veggies, Mr. Chan. You need fiber, for guts' sake!"
Once the doctor was gone, Marinette faces Fu.
""Mr. Chan?"" She asked.
"You can never be too careful..." Fu muttered.
"Still could've made a better name." Falx said, getting Marinette's attention.
"Mr. Firstbourne! What are you-?" Marinette asked, only for Falx to stop her with a raised hand.
"Don't worry, I'm part of the Order, so you have nothing to worry about, Ladybug." He said, surprising the bluenette.
She then tries to set Fu's blanket, but he interrupted her.
"Marinette, if anything happens to me, I want you to take care of the Miracle box- you'll be the new guardian and-" Fu said, only to be interrupted by Marinette.
"Oh! Come on, Master Fu, you're overreacting; it's just a little bellyache, that's all!" She said, patting Fu's hand.
"I am 186 years old, remember? The doctor doesn't know that." Fu said.
"You're going to be fine! I'll go and fetch your medication then..." Marinette said, getting up, only to be stopped.
"Wait! That's not why I called you here." Fu said before handing the bluenette a letter. "Go to the address written here down on the river banks at 11am. You'll see a woman there wearing a pretty brooch shaped like a Chinese ideogram. Give her this letter."
"Who is she, Master?" Marinette asked.
"Someone I've always loved, but have never seized the moment to tell..." Fu said while looking away.
Meanwhile, Ashley and Falx's eyes widened, as they realized who he was talking about.
"Master, you've got a sweetheart!" Marinette exclaimed with a smile. She then gets a confused look. "But... why today?"
"Because I'm just realizing that I've waited way too long. I don't know how much time I have left, but I don't want to waste another moment." Fu clarified.
"You're so right! If you don't do it now, you'll probably never do it; I'm gonna do what I need to do today, too!" Marinette said, standing up and putting the letter in her purse.
"Thank you." Fu said in a frail voice.
"Bring the medication back fast! I don't care what the doctor said, I don't have a good feeling about this." Wayzz said in a nervous tone.
"You can count on me, Wayzz!" Marinette said before leaving.
Once she was gone, Ashley and Falx look at Fu, who passes wind again.
"Finally going to contact Marianne after all these years?" Ashley asked.
"Like I said, I waited too long and don't want to waste another moment." Fu said.
"Well, better late then never." Falx said.
At the Gare du Nord train station, Drake, Kagami, Adrien, and their families were wait for the train.
"Trains number 8625 and 8025 in the direction of Paris, Montparnasse are arriving on platform 12." The announcer said.
Gabriel, Mrs. Tsurugi, and Drake's family broads the train. Drake, Kagami, and Adrien were about to broad themselves when a voice spoke up.
"Adrien!"
Following it, the three saw Marinette running up to them, out of breath.
"Marinette?" Adrien asked as the bluenette gives him a letter.
"Here! Read this in the drain—er—on the train! I've never told you kiss—this, but what I want more than anything else in the world is written on this piece of paper and... only you can give it to me." Marinette stuttered with a blush. "Sorry—" She then bumps into someone. "Ugh! Medical emergency!"
"What was that about?" Drake asked, getting a shrug from Kagami.
The three then broad the train.
At the banks of Seine, Mr. Ramier was sitting on a bench, feeding the pigeons, when a old woman walks up to him.
"Hello again, Mr. Ramier!" She greeted.
"How are you today, Ms. Lenoir?" He greeted back.
"Today's the day! I know he's coming... I can feel it!" Marianne exclaimed, sitting on the bench.
"He really is a very lucky man; he doesn't deserve you." Mr. Ramier said.
That's when Ladybug appears, letter in hand.
"Hello, ma'am!" She greeted.
"Look, Ladybug?!" Mr. Ramier shouted in shock.
"Uh... yeah—I have a letter for you; the mailman asked me to give it to you because there was something wrong with hi—" Ladybug said nervously before being interrupted.
"I know perfectly well who sent you, young lady!" Marianne said. "Go now... the less we talk, the safer your secret will be... but thank you, Ladybug. I've been waiting for this moment for a very long time!"
"You're welcome, ma'am! It was very nice meeting you." Ladybug said before setting off.
Marianne then holds the letter to her chest with a sigh.
Ladybug then arrives at the pharmacy.
"Morning, ma'am!" The spotted hero greeted as she hands over the letter. "Here, it's very urgent!"
"Uh... look... thank you for this very moving heartfelt declaration, but I'm already taken, and my name's not Marianne." The pharmacist said after reading a letter.
After reading the letter herself, Ladybug gasps.
"So if you have Master Fu's letter, who's got the prescription?"
Back with Marianne, she beginnings reading the letter.
"When you love someone, you must never hold back from telling them when you have the chance, because one day you might realize that it's too late and that all your hopes and dreams are ruined, with no way to go back in time and do it over..." She read, her voice saddening the more she reads. "Too late...? Hopes and dreams ruined...? This means he doesn't love me anymore. That it's too late for the two of us...?"
"Oh, Miss Lenoir..." Mr. Ramier said in a sad tone.
"We promised each other... All this pain, all these year of waiting... for nothing." Marianne said before leaving.
On the train, Gabriel's Miraculous lights up.
"Ah!" He shouted, standing up with a start.
Hestia noticed this and got up as well.
"Father?" Adrien asked.
"Mom?" Drake asked.
"We are about to depart; stand clear—" The conductor said before noticing Gabriel and Hestia walking up to him.
"You!" Gabriel shouted as Hestia presses the Mute Speaker button. "This train will not depart until we say it can!"
"Who do you think you are?!" The conductor demanded.
"I am Gabriel Agreste! And we're not feeling well." Gabriel said.
"And I am Hestia Firstbourne. And until we're feeling better nobody goes anywhere; is that clear?" Hestia stated.
"Mm-hm… Yes, I'm sorry Mr. Agreste and Mrs. Firstbourne." The conductor said with a nod.
Gabriel then heads to the male washroom while Hestia heads to the female one.
"We've got work to do!" They said as their Kwamis came out.
"Ladies and gentlemen, we have two sick passengers on board; our departure will therefore be slightly delayed until further notice." The conductor said as Gabriel and Hestia turn into Hawk Moth and Damselfly.
"I can feel... a whole lifetime of hope..." Hawk Moth said as he releases a butterfly from his cane before turning it into a akuma. "The hope of being reunited with one's true love, only to find out that the waiting has been in vain! Fly away, my little akuma, and evilize her!"
The akuma then flies out of the train and into Paris.
Back at Seine, Mr. Ramier picks up the letter and reads it before gasping.
"Ms. Lenoir, wait!" He shouted.
However, it didn't matter, as the akuma lands on Marianne's brooch.
"Backwarder, I am Hawk Moth. I'm granting you the power to make up for lost time by stealing it from others! All I ask for in return is Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous!" Hawk Moth said.
"Thank you for giving me a second chance, Hawk Moth!" Marianne said before turning into Backwarder.
"Mrs. Lenoir?" Mr. Ramier asked. Backwarder uses an hour-hand sword to make Mr. Ramier rewind. "?rioneL .srM !tiaw, rioneL .sM"
Backwarder jumps on a ship in the Seine, and rewinds it. She jumps on the highway, and uses rewinds on a car.
"No more time to waste!" The villain shouted with a evil laugh.
Back on the train, Drake gets a alert on his phone. Turning it on, he saw it was a newsflash.
"This just in! There's a new supervillain at large!" Nadja shouted.
"I—I better go check on my mother." Drake said to Kagami before heading to the washrooms.
He knocks on the first one.
"Occupied!" Damselfly shouted from within.
"Sorry!" Drake shouted before going to the next one, which was empty. He then let Spyro and Cynder out. "We've got work to do. Transform Me!" Once Spyro and Cynder were absorbed into his wristbands, Drake let's out a roar as he turns into Dragnarok. "Unleash the Dragon!"
Dragnarok arrives at Place de la Concorde, where he saw Backwarder on top of the Ferris wheel, forcing it to rewind and making the people inside scream. She then jumps off the Ferris wheel and rewinds two cars and a civilian, with the civilian about to get hit by a one of the rewinded cars.
Luckily, Ladybug arrives and the civilian out of the way.
"Here! You'll be safe here in the meantime." She said.
The civilian still continued to walk backwards, almost bumping into Cat Noir and the rest of Team Draconic.
"Whoops!" Cat Noir said, moonwalking out of the way. "M'Lady, okay you are?" This a annoyed looked from Ladybug. "Are you okay, m'lady?"
"Guys! They've been hit by a super-villain!" Ladybug stated.
"Uh, yeah I saw that; looks like she's making them go back in time!" Dragnarok said.
The heroes then chase after Backwarder.
"I won't bore you with the details, but I'm sure the akumatized object is the brooch with the Chinese ideogram she's wearing." Ladybug said.
"How do you-?" Echidna asked, only to be interrupted.
"I trust you." Cat Noir said.
They soon caught up to the villain, who was rewinding civilians. Just as she was about to rewind another, but Ladybug stops her.
"Not so fast!" The spotted hero shouted.
"There you are again, you ghastly bug! Once I've touched you, all I have to do is wait for you to transform back!" Backwarder said.
"Then you can give me her Miraculous!" Hawk Moth telepathically said.
"Not right now; first I'll follow her so that she can lead me back to the man who gave her those earrings." Backwarder said.
"What? You know the Guardian of the Miraculous? You must take me to him!" Hawk Moth demanded.
"Fu? Of course! He's the one who broke my heart. He's been hiding under a false name for a long time, but now thanks to you, Hawk Moth, I'm going to find him again at last and make up for all that lost time." Backwarder said.
"What a delightful twist of fate!" Hawk Moth said with a malefic laugh.
That's when a Odonata flies in and lands on Backwarder's brooch.
"Hello Backwarder, I am Damselfly." Damselfly greeted. "So you want to rewind time, huh? Let me help you stop it altogether."
"Thank you, Damselfly." Backwarder said before aiming her hour-hand sword at Team Draconic before firing a red beam from it.
Team Draconic dove out of the way, but the beam ended up hitting a random civilian, freezing them in place.
"She put that dude on pause!" Swallow shouted.
"Guys! I was at Master Fu's earlier! We can't let her touch me otherwise she'll lead Hawk Moth straight to the Guardian! And the Miracle Box!" Ladybug shouted.
"Then we better make sure that doesn't happen!" Dragnarok declared.
Backwarder then tried to attack Ladybug, but Cat Noir blocked the attack.
"I'll gladly be your bodyguard, m'lady." The feline hero said before facing the villain. "In no time you'll be back the way you were before you got akumatized!"
Grizzly then uses his warhammer to slam Backwarder into a nearby lamppost. Swallow then flies at the villain, only for Backwarder to use her powers to restores the lamppost, having the feathered hero crash into it.
Dragnarok, using his Psychokinesis, lifts up a empty car and launches it at Backwarder, only for the villain to rewind it, sending it flying back to the draconic hero.
"Return to sender!" She shouted.
Ladybug, acting quickly, uses her yo-yo to pull Dragnarok out of the way.
"Hey! Be nice to m'lady!" Cat Noir said.
"You're wasting your time while I grow stronger." Backwarder said before firing some pause beams.
"We won't defeat her this way guys!" Ladybug shouted.
"All I need is one hit! Haha!" Backwarder said before aiming her hour-hand sword at Cat Noir. "Time's up, Cat Noir!" Ladybug, however, shoves the villain into a nearby dumpster, giving the heroes a chance to flee. "Wanna play hide n' seek, huh? I've got all the time in the world; I'll find you sooner or later and once I've defeated you, you'll lead me straight to my sweetheart!"
"Then I'll be able to get my hands on not only their Miraculous, but all the other magic jewels as well!" Hawk Moth said before laughing evilly.
Our heroes soon arrived at Jardin des Tuileries, where they hid behind a statue as Backwarder looked for them.
"It's time we made a plan!" Cat Noir said.
"A little helping hand from fate is in order! Lucky Charm!" Ladybug shouted, throwing her yo-yo into the air, summoning... A pipe. "Uh... a pipe?"
"That's incredible! I was just thinking to myself, why don't we redo the fountain's plumbing while we're here?" Cat Noir asked sarcastically, only to get elbowed by Echidna.
"Please tell me you know what to do with that thing." Siorc said. as Ladybug looks around, forming a plan.
"Okay, I know what to do; follow me." The spotted hero said as she picks up a nearby kite. She then noticed that Backwarder was gone. "She's gone away! Quick, let's make the most of it!" Ladybug then cuts the string off the kite. "Take this!" After giving Cat Noir the string, Ladybug makes a cross in the sand before placing the pipe in the center of it. "There! Now tie the pipe around your ankle."
"Your Lucky Charm seems more convoluted than usual." Cat Noir stated.
"Tell me about it..." Dragnarok muttered.
"It's the most complicated ever; I have to stay focused." Ladybug said.
"I'm with you m'lady!" The feline hero said as he ties the string around his ankle.
"Okay, now stretch your arm out like this and take a few steps back until the string is pulled tight." Ladybug said. Cat Noir does so. "Perfect! Now raise your arm and say "cataclysm" backwards." The other heroes gain confused looks. "Msylca... ms-msylca... Msylcatac!
"Msylcatac!" Cat Noir repeated.
"Msylcatac?" Grizzly asked.
Wait, what are we suppose to do?" Dragnarok asked.
"I need you guys to keep Backwarder in place." Ladybug said, getting a thumbs-up from the draconic hero. The spotted hero then sets a timer on her yo-yo. "Excellent! Now pull the tube back to you." Cat Noir does just that. "Right, now follow me!"
"I'll follow you to the ends of the Earth, m'lady." Cat Noir said.
The heroes then went after Backwarder, who was rewinding a leaf.
"Come on! You're merely delaying the inevitable." The villain said as she faces the heroes.
"Sorry, we got a little held back, but we're all yours now, no more timeouts!" Ladybug stated.
"My sweet darling Fu, soon we'll be back together again." Backwarder said before charging.
"I'm sorry." Ladybug said to Cat Noir.
"Sorry for what?" The feline hero asked.
"For this!" Ladybug said before pushing Cat Noir to Backwarder, causing him to go in reverse while starting the timer on her yo-yo.
"?tahw rof yrroS" The feline hero said.
"One down! I can't believe Fu chose such a cowardly Ladybug, who would sacrifice her own Cat Noir!" Backwarder said before firing a pause beam at Team Draconic.
Dragnarok dove out of the way, but Echidna, Swallow, Siorc, and Grizzly were hit, freezing them in place.
"Guys!" Dragnarok shouted before facing Ladybug. "Your plan better work!"
"Don't worry, things will work out." Ladybug said before the two lead Backwarder to the still rewinding Cat Noir.
".ydal'm, htraE eht fo sdne eht ot uoy wollof ll'I" The feline hero said.
Ladybug then lands in front of the cross and pretends to break her ankle.
"Ow, my ankle! I think I've sprained it!" She shouted.
"You're mine!" Backwarder shouted.
However, Ladybug jumps simultaneously as Cat Noir pushes the pipe to the cross, causing Backwarder to trip over it, skidding to Cat Noir just as the timer ends.
"!Cataclysm" Cat Noir shouted as he activates his power and ends up hitting the brooch, destroying it.
"NOOO!" Bavkwarder shouted.
"No more evildoing for you, little akuma. Time to de-evilize!" Ladybug shouted as she opens her eyes before throwing her yo-yo at the akuma, catching it. "Gotcha!" She then releases the purified butterfly. "Bye, bye, little butterfly." Ladybug then throws her yo-yo into the air. "Miraculous Ladybug!"
The damages were undone and Backwarder turns back into Marianne.
"Pound it!" Ladybug and Cat Noir fist-bump while Team Draconic have a five-way high-five.
"Well at least I think so, 'cause to be honest, I still don't understand what all that was about." Cat Noir said.
"What happened?" Swallow asked.
"Let's just say, simple isn't a work to describe this plan." Dragnarok said.
"That's because we girls are mysterious that way." Ladybug said as she helps Marianne up.
"Oh, oops! Sorry, but I'd better scat! Superfast." Cat Noir said as his ring beeps.
"Me too." Dragnarok said before facing his team. "See you all so."
"Don't believe for one second that you've won, Ladybug! I've acquired more information that will enable me to track the Guardian down. And even though no one in Paris goes by the name of Master Fu, I will find where he's hiding. Soon I'll be able to have him decipher the spellbook for me and maybe, who knows, even get my hands on every Miraculous known on Earth!" Hawk Moth shouted.
Drake, Hestia, Adrien, and Gabriel exited their washrooms simultaneously, getting gasps from the four.
"You seem to be feeling a lot better, Father." Adrien said.
"You too, Mom." Drake said.
"Oh yes, we are." They said before heading back to their seats.
"Ladies and gentlemen, our incident has been resolved. This train for London is about to depart, stand clear of the doors, we apologize for any inconvenience." The conductor said.
Back at the banks of Seine, Fu and Marianne were sitting on a bench together.
"Marianne, I'm sorry I took so long to come here. I always felt as long as I was in charge of the Miracle Box, I'd be a danger to anyone I'm close to... but that's all in the past now." Fu said.
"I know you always wanted to do what's best. I know what a responsibility it is being the Guardian of the Miraculous. Unfortunately, Hawk Moth now knows that I know you." Marianne said as she places her hands on Fu's.
"Yes, he could hurt you to get to me." Fu said sadly.
"We can't be together again until he's been defeated." Marianne said.
"I have full trust in the ones I have chosen and the Dragon Messiah." Fu said. "They will succeed."
"Now it's my turn to go and hide, my sweet darling Fu." Marianne said.
"Marianne, I've never told you this but I... I..." Fu said, only for Marianne to place a finger on his lips.
"Shh. Save it for when I get back." She said.
In the distance, Ashley and Falx look at the two with a smile.
And that's that!
Sorry for Dragnarok and his team not doing much, but I wanted this chapter to be more focused on Fu and Marianne's backstory.
