Another of my AU One Shots Series, It's time for Season Two set around the time 2x21 'Overkill'. I know again this feels like an absolute age ago but it's still fun to revisit the oldies.

As she padded around, barefoot, in Castle's kitchen, fixing coffee to his exacting standards, Kate was glad of some time to think. Her mind was blown by what had transpired between them the previous night.

Kate and Rick meet before season one, right after her mother was killed. Kate was admitted in the hospital when she stopped taking care of herself. Her father had been admitted in rehab, so he is out of the picture, for now.
