Chapter 1: The Surprise

It's a wonderful day in San Francisco, sunny, bright, boring, the typical San Francisco day. Riley had just turned 18 three months ago and was looking at various websites looking for cheap houses in Minneapolis, often distracted by various items in her bedroom. She was excited to go back to Minnesota, not thinking about much else. She was spending several hours looking at houses.

She already had a list of houses she wanted in a spreadsheet, but one house had her intrigued. Joy came running towards the control panel. Riley clicked on the listing as Joy carefully analyzed the picture. It turned out to be Riley's childhood home. Joy took control and Riley excitedly ran off to tell her parents about her discovery.

Jill followed and figured out why. "Bill, look what Riley found!" she yelled out. He soon came and everyone gathered around Riley's laptop, visibly surprised by the sight. "That's home. That's where we lived in Minnesota!" Riley softly exclaimed. Memories came flooding in, even core memories no longer with an island attached to them. It was a sight to behold. "Go ahead and buy it! Why not?" Bill said compassionately to Riley. She did, and a new era was about to begin.

Riley stood near the front door, holding the black jacket she wore when she told her parents that she missed Minnesota, and sobbed "I'm going home. To my true home." She cried all day after that. Sadness was brought in and she and Joy held the memory that had just appeared. It was a subcore memory of Family Island.
