After the war with Kuvira, life for Team Avatar had gotten to some degree of normalcy. What threats to the world there'd be were far between as our heroes have made peaceful lives, Korra and Asami have gone on to raise two adorable children, Bolin finally married Opal, Mako met a nice woman on the force, and Varrick was still telling Zhu Li to do the thing whenever he events something dangerous.
When Korra's time passed, the avatar cycle was slowly restarted as the next avatar started their own journey. With each new avatar, the cycle has slowly started to reform as avatars of old started to reappear. No one knew what to make of this phenomenon, as usual avatar stuff makes no sense.
But that's not the only thing spiritual going on, for after 100 years since Harmonic Convergence, another round of shockwaves consisting of cosmic spiritual energy went off at every gateway to that connects the spiritual world to the human world. In the same event that brought back the airbenders, now Harmonic Convergence grants a handful of lucky or unlucky victims the ability to bend any of the four elements.
And this would continue every hundred years even as time goes on and technology advances, leaving bending the bending of those select few to fade. Harmonic Convergence will always occur every century at the stroke of midnight to not only bring back the bending of the old benders, but grant they power to any normal people of the world.

"Come on McLean, you usually come up with these things in your sleep!" Exclaimed the voice of one Chris McLean as he crumbled up a piece of paper and tossed it near a filled up trash can. "Any luck Chef?"
"Why are we staying late again?" Questioned Chris' confidant Chef Hatchet as he sat across from Chris.
"Because the new executives want an exciting new season and I'm all tapped out of Total Drama fanfics to rip off, so now I have to come up with a brand new hook for our return sequel season!" Chris complained.
"Why not just do it on Wawanakwa again?" Chef wondered. "People always say they want 'original content', but really they just want the comfort of the familiar."
"Yes, but soon enough people will get bored of the familiar. So help me find a new gimmick for this season or else we're both fired-" Chris and Chef then leaped when the room started shaking.
"Earthquake!" Chef panicked as they got under the table, outside the studio waves of energy emanated across the land. Each in a different color, white, blue, green, and then red. The cycles repeated until the rumbling stopped.
Chris poked his head out from under the table, protecting his hair "Is it over?"
"I think so." Chef crawled out, "We should probably call it a night, we'll figure something out in the morning."
Chris sighed as he got up, "You're right, besides I can get pretty sadistic without if I don't get my recommended 11.5 hours of beauty sleep." As soon as they said that, they heard a loud thunder noise as it started to rain. Chris slumped, "Remind me again where you parked."
"All the way in the back." Chef said, Chris whimpered at the prospect of having to walk more than 5 seconds in the rain.
(10 minutes later)
Chris and Chef's car was cruising down the highway, with not many cars on the road, looks like most people were staying inside after the earthquakes. Chris seemed to be bored out of his mind trying to figure out a season idea, while Chef just seemed tired from wasting a day doing nothing. Since Chris wasn't interested in conversation, Chef decided to turn on the radio to get some form of entertainment out of this ride, tuning it to a local news station.
"-Yes indeed, multiple supernatural occurrences have been popping up across the nation as people discover their own types of... superpowers!" The news anchor seemed to be brimming with excitement from this news, "Local officers have been trying to pin down the source of these events, but it seems the leading theory is the appearance of a sudden earthquake that supposedly struck the entire nation!"
Chris popped up out of his seat from hearing this news, "Woah woah woah! Superpowers?! Chef, do you know what this means!?" Chris looked at Chef with pure excitement in his eyes.
Chef shrugged, "That it's nothing new? We've seen our fair share of supernatural stuff back during season four."
"No! We gotta make a season about this stuff asap!" Chris took out a notebook and immediately started scribbling out notes, "Ok, gotta get a location for this season, and gotta track down as many of these superpowered teens as possible! I'll think of a name for the season eventually, but we gotta turn back to the studio so we can pitch this idea!" Chris laughed, "Chris McLean is back baby!"
"Are you sure about this? We don't know much about this stuff." Chef bluntly replied.
Chris gave a quick chuckle, "I'm always one hundred percent sure on everything! Besides... what could go wrong?"
A pretty fun way to open up a new Fresh and Zory season, huh? We figured we'd do a partial SYOC with this somewhat popular concept in this AU verse we've started working on, mostly just because it'd be fun. Now I say partial because this will have ocs from both of us in it, but rest assured, they will not receive favoritism just because their our ocs, and they will be treated like anybody else will.
