[Northern Rustboro, Western Hoenn.]

As the sun peeked through the curtains, it gently nudged Silver awake. He rubbed his eyes, a wide grin spreading across his face as he realized it was his birthday! Yep, this twelve-year-old dynamo was ready to tackle the day with all the energy and excitement a kid could muster.

Silver's bedroom, tucked away in a fancy mansion in Rustboro City, was buzzing with the promise of fun.

Throwing off his covers, Silver hopped out of bed with the agility of a spring-loaded hitmonlee. He couldn't contain his excitement, his silver-blonde hair bouncing with each bound. His room was like a treasure trove of playful decorations, from his bed sheets covered in crazy creatures to his pyjamas splashed with stars and moons.

With sleepy eyes now wide open, Silver rushed to the window, throwing back the curtains like a magician revealing a grand illusion. And voila! The sun flooded in, casting a warm glow on everything in sight. It was as if the world was joining in on his birthday celebration.

"Nine years," Silver muttered as he remembered the day he came to this world. He had been happy to wake up from his surgery, thinking that it had succeeded. Imagine his shock when he woke up as a three-year-old.

The surprise was however compounded when he found out where and who he was. His name in this life was Silver Stone. He was the second son of Elijah Stone, the president of Devon Corporation, the largest company in the Hoenn Region.

'Pokemon,' a billion-dollar franchise that was all about pocket monsters. He was in the world of adorable murder-beasts, and he wasn't sure how to feel about it.

He had been a self-made multimillionaire in his previous life, and like most of his peers, he had earned his fortune early in life. So early in life in fact that he had lost all respect for it. He could afford whatever luxury he wished and it had made him numb to most pleasures in life. He had been raised by his maternal aunt due to his parent's early death.

She had assumed the role of caretaker at a young age herself and sacrificed much for him. He could say that while he may not have had the most conventional teenage years, he had been a fairly normal man with a normal moral compass. He had kept up with his other relatives, even after gaining his fortune and finishing his education.

Missing out on a normal childhood, Silver understood the meaning and importance of family. The question- what would have been if Aunty had not taken custody?- had made his opinion on family clear.

Things had gone fairly well for him until destiny that had smiled upon him until that moment had come asking its due. He had visited the doctor along with his girlfriend since he had been suffering from pain and nausea.

The visit had turned into days of tests before the actual problem was discovered. It was pancreatic cancer that ailed him. The doctors had recommended a surgery since the chances of it becoming terminal were extremely high and he had been informed of the chances of him not surviving.

He had prepared his will, whereupon his death most of his assets would be divided between his girlfriend and aunt. The remaining went to some of the employees that he liked. The time before his surgery had been spent with his girlfriend and aunt.

'I hope Vennessa moved on,' they had been planning to marry and had been in love. The memory of her tear-stained face still brought a bittersweet feeling in his mouth. They had been so young.

His death while neither peaceful nor happy had been accepted by him after being Silver for a year. His new family had been a boon in his integration. His aunt had been a great 'aunt' but she had never been his mother and she had never really tried to replace his mother. He had been old enough to remember his 'mum'.

He called Irina Stone, 'mum' too. Silver knew his other 'mum' would never begrudge him his happiness. He had a great brother in Steven Stone and a great father in Elijah Stone.

He hadn't thought much about why he had been reborn into the body of Silver Stone. The thought he had murdered the child was never entertained since he understood that neither he nor the original Silver was capable of a feat like inter-universal possession.

He had simply attributed his rebirth to the work of a higher deity who had taken pity on him and moved on. Why? Because if a being capable of feats like moving souls(identities?) through worlds wanted something done, they would have used him with or without his consent.

He shook his head to clear such tasteless and dark thoughts and moved into the bathroom so that he could clean up.

There were many servants preparing for his birthday party and as he walked towards the living room, he could see them running around the mansion in a hurry as they tried to set everything up.

He could hear his parents chatting about some project as he walked into the room. They turned towards him and wished him a happy birthday with bright smiles on their faces.

Silver grew an excited smile when his parents pulled out his presents and handed them to him.

They were wrapped neatly and as he opened them the small grin on his face grew.

"An Ultra ball and a TM case," Silver was happy with the gifts he had gotten as he turned and pressed the release/capture button on the ball.

The blue plasma that was often emitted when matter-data conversion occurred rushed out of the ball and shifted into a Pokemon.

It was a small fox-like pokemon that had short, light silver fur covering its body, with a grey-colored mane around its neck and a bushy tail. Its eyes were large, round, and blue in color.

'An eevee, neat.' That was all Silver could think.

The Pokemon leaned back away from Silver and Elijah and towards Irina, a bit wary of the pair though it still maintained its friendly demeanour.

His mother giggled and scooped it up. She said as she scratched its head, "I called one of our contracted breeders for him. He has some very basic training from the Pokeball's training routines and will obey any commands you give."

Silver nodded before pointing his smartwatch at his starter and muttered a "Scan" command.

A hologram of Eevee was suddenly projected from his watch as it began described, "Eevee - The Evolution Pokémon. Eevee, a versatile and enchanting pokemon, is known for its potential to evolve into various forms. This particular eevee is a male and shiny. Scan its capture ball for more information."

Silver nodded and pointed the watch at the ultra ball and muttered another command to scan, "Scan and record capture ball."

The watch began,"The registered user does not have a trainer license and also is not an adult, registering capture ball to them is prohibited."

Silver nodded before saying, "Register capture ball to L.A.N.B.O.S."

His father facepalmed at Silver's words and said, "I am not sure that is strictly legal." as they heard the watch say,"Task Completed."

"It isn't illegal, it is more of a grey area. It has many benefits actually."

"Like not having to provide the Pokemon League with your pokemon's details?" his father knew that Silver did not trust the League and Alliance too much.

"Any information that is not on an air-gaped server is susceptible to a leak. I don't take risks with things that would provide me security."

His father sighed before saying, "You would have to be very careful to avoid any scrutiny and if discovered it will buy you and us no goodwill with the league. Not that I don't believe you already aren't."

His father's warning was clear to Silver, his actions reflected Devon's and it would be bad if he sent the wrong message to the wrong people.

"I plan on storing only very specific Pokemon on LANBOS after I turn fifteen."

His father gave a curt nod before smiling and saying, "You should open the TM case, it has some special ones in it."

As Silver browsed the discs he had been given, he had to agree. There were Protect, Psychic and Flamethrower in the case.

All very useful, especially the Protect TM.

Silver looked at his mother and asked, "Is Steven coming?"

He immediately regretted the action as she winced and replied, "He won't be able to make it," and his father grumbled.

Silver was disappointed, but he understood that his brother was trying to become the Hoenn Champion and after he finished his one-year journey in Johto this year, he would seriously try to take on the Pokemon league to become the League Champion before aiming for the Regional title.

Steven's aim was admirable but it had also been the cause of arguments in the family. Their mother was completely supportive of his brother's actions but their father was against the idea.

'And who is gonna take care of Devon? Can you even win?'- the questions had caused a lot of strife.

Honestly, Silver hoped they moved away from directly managing the company since as he understood most of the jobs were done by the department heads, like his mother anyways.

But Silver's father's opinion was very clear, without any oversight, the department heads might misappropriate funds or might even push research into prohibited subjects. The Presidency was important because the position was used by the Stone family to control the direction of the company.

Silver agreed with that, but he simply thought that they could just put up something like a control department. They could hire the initial candidates with very thorough background checks and test their mental state using psychic pokemon. This department could be under the direct control of the family and could also bring down the president's workload. He had suggested the idea but he was not sure of its effectiveness.

'I am not a business major anyways,' He had no actual idea how to handle a company and was an engineering major before his rebirth.

He shook his head as he looked at Eevee's stats and couldn't help but be impressed.

'Name-Eevee(Male)

Ability-Adaptability

Moves-Endure(Egg), Detect(Egg), Double-Kick, Quick Attack, Swift, Bite.'

He returned Eevee using the capture button before turning to his parents and thanking them for the gifts.
