Kim Possible: A Family Again

Chapter 1: No Regrets

I have a mother now. I cannot ask for anything more in my life. Everything that comes after that is small in comparison. I am back in school after the 'Ivory Tiger' assignment. With my adopted mother Rose, she has brought some joy that was missing in my life. I am no longer alone, and I no longer work alone. Today seemed to be like every other day

It was the lunch period between classes, and I sat down with my friends for lunch. It was the leftover chicken and mushroom marsala with a soft polenta. Now, allow me clarify that I do not own a five-star restaurant. I just like trying out recipes I find online. I walked up to the microwave in the lunchroom to heat up my meal. Of course, there is Bonnie

"Watch it, Euro-Trash," she hissed,

"Stop me calling me that," I requested,

"Oh yeah, what're you gonna to do about it?" she sassed back, I looked at her and just walked away to the microwave, "yeah, that's right, nothing, just walk away," she taunted behind my back. I ignored it. With my meal ready, I went back to the spot at the table with my three friends. My lunch smells just as good as it was the dinner I made last night.

Just then as I was about to enjoy my meal, there was trouble. There is this one boy in my class. I believe his name is Jamie. He has brown hair, brown eyes, wireframe glasses, and very smart. I sit by him in my history class, and he is always the first to raise his hand to answer a question. Still, he is not the best socially and girls do find him to be weird

There came a crash of a lunch tray, "Opps,"

"I do not like this," I said to my friends,

"Mika, what're you doing?" Kim asked,

"If that boy were Ron, you would do the same," I replied, and walked over to the scene with urgency in my step. The boy was fighting to not have his face pushed into the spilled food. That was when I intervened, "hey!" I said to get Bonnie's attention, and get her to face me, "you leave that boy alone," I demanded from Bonnie, but she stood her ground

"Make me, Euro-Trash," said Bonnie, letting loose her grip on Jamie and getting up in my face. I turned my back for a split second, but that spilt second is all that I need to lull her into a sense of false satisfaction. Quick as lightning, I turned to hit Bonnie in the cheek with a hard right hook, sending her down on her back. I turned to see the boy Jamie.

I held my hand to him, "Are you alright?" I asked

"I'm fine, you're not afraid of Bonnie?" He stuttered

"I am not afraid of her," I said, and the boy accepted my hand to him, and I lifted him to his feet. Jamie looked upset. Not at me, but that he will not get to eat lunch. I did one better for him, "here, you can have mine," his eyes lit up at my offer. I am happy that he is unharmed, and he still gets something to eat. It appeared someone called a teacher.

I nonchalantly put my hands up to say that, 'yes', I did it. I turned to Jamie, and gave Jamie a grin and wink as I was escorted out of the lunchroom. So was Bonnie with quite a bruise on her cheek, and a bag of ice for said bruise. She had a look in her eye like a feral cat caught in a trap. She asked what I was going to do about it? This was it, my friend

I saw Mr. Barkin, "Anyone want to tell me what happened?"

"I will," I offered, and gave my explanation on this

I sighed a light breath, "I was...sitting down to enjoy my lunch with my friends when I heard the sound of a lunch tray, and a sarcastic 'opps' come from Bonnie, I was not going to take that lightly so I stood up for that boy, I told her to leave him alone as she was about to push his face into the spilled food, she said 'make me', and so I did," I concluded,

Mr. Barkin looked to Bonnie to hear her side of the story. I could not wait to hear what she would have to say with all of those witnesses, "LIES! ALL LIES! I didn't do anything to Jamie, she just hit me! I'm telling you she's crazy," she said pointing to me, I lightly twitched my left eye which none of them noticed. I could believe that came out of her mouth

"I need for you both to wait outside," said Mr. Barkin

I could hear the sound of the buttons on a telephone from the office. This was it. My mom is getting a phone call from the school. Although I kept myself at ease sitting on the bench outside the office, my teeth lightly chattered behind my lips. I do not know what to expect. I could see from the office window her Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Edition.

For the first time in years, I felt fear. Here she comes. Here comes my mom in tight blue jeans and a flared-sleeve floral top. She looked at me, and my fear seemed to subside for a moment. That look in her brown eyes, and on her face was not one of disappointment as she touched my shoulder. It was one of reassurance that we will see this through.
