Prologue

He hadn't given much thought to how their story could end –though he had had reason, even the duty to do so, given the past few months. Yet this outcome wouldn't have crossed his mind.

Until the end, a part of him hung on to the past.

Unfortunately.

Now there they were. Sasuke knew deep down that if he hadn't been so naïve, Naruto wouldn't have been lying in his own blood, there wouldn't have been a gun pointing at his forehead. There were many ways to die, some more honorable than others. This wasn't the case at this moment. It was a waste.

But it was a mistake on his part. For that, he was going to take responsibility. There was no time for regret but to face his life choices.

Sasuke stared calmly straight ahead, into the dark eyes of the gunman. The man looked back at him, coldly.

In the pregnant silence of the dark room, the bullet pierced the air…

As his girlfriend, she had been safe.

As his enemy, she had held all the power.

Yet everything was different, the outcome far away from what she could've ever imagined. However, she'd never taken the time to think about their situation. She had continued to act on instincts, on emotions, over and over, until it was too late.

Now there she was, inside the back of a car, ready to suffer the wrath of her enemy. What she'd never said, never done and would never ever get the chance to do didn't matter anymore.

Nothing mattered at that moment but her incoming execution like a vulgar criminal.
