Yusei remained on the duel field following his loss to Wenslow. He then turned and ran to the stands, ascending to where Luna, Leo, Dexter, Tanner and Yanagi were sitting.
"You guys need to get out of here." He said. "It's no longer safe."
"But-"
"Don't argue." Rose instructed. "I'll help them leave the area."
"Thanks." Yusei appreciated the assistance. "I'm going to question Goodwin, but until this tournament ends, get to Blister's place and stay there."
Tanner nodded and the group of seven stood up, walking up the steps to leave.
20
Luna, Leo, Dexter, Yanagi and Tanner walked out into a hallway, when suddenly a group of Sector Security stepped from a side corridor, blocking the path.
"Were you planning to leave?" Lazar chuckled, walking in from behind them.
"What would happen if we were? Tanner retorted.
"Director Goodwin would like you to stay and enjoy the rest of the tournament." Lazar said.
"Let Goodwin know we're sick and tired of being told what to do!" Tanner snarled, grabbing the clown-like man by the collar and slamming him against the wall. Lazar just laughed.
"Do you know Yusei has friends in the Satellite who vanished a few days ago?" He asked. Tanner let him go, surprised, and the deputy of Security laughed. "It would be best if you returned to your seats now." He turned and walked away, laughing...
20
"Stop! This area is off-limits!"
Yusei was undeterred by this shouted warning from two guards watching over the elevator to the tower, instead still running. Yusei leapt up at one, kicking him in the face before landing and dropping the guy with a gut-punch. The two guards crumpled from the blows.
Wenslow calmly walked behind him. He also wanted a explanation from Goodwin.
20
"Director Goodwin, I feel it is my official position to request this tournament end now!" Trudge protested.
"I thought your 'official position' was mall security." Goodwin replied, sipping from a glass of wine in his hand.
"Very funny." Trudge muttered sarcastically. "I'm concerned bad things will happen shortly."
"I don't pay you to be concerned!" Goodwin snapped irritably. "I pay you to do as I say. And as for what you think, if I wanted anyone to think, it most certainly wouldn't be you. Langley, escort officer Trudge out, please."
"Don't stop on our account." Wenslow said as he and Yusei stepped off the elevator.
Trudge's eyes widened at the sight of the two.
"What are you doing up here?!" He shouted.
"Our business is with Goodwin, not you." Wenslow retorted.
"Weren't you going to throw him out?" Yusei said, gesturing to Trudge. As if on cue, two guards appeared from the elevator and grabbed Trudge by the arms, dragging him away.
"That's it Goodwin!" The Security officer yelled. "I'm gonna figure out what you're up to! You're going down! I'm gonna..." The elevator closing cut off his ranting and Goodwin sighed.
"Alright Goodwin. It's time you revealed the reason Yusei was forced to compete in the Fortune Cup."
"Are you really that thick?" He laughed, pulling back his sleeve to show Yusei his Mark of the Dragon, the Wings. "It's these marks, Yusei. Goodwin wants the Crimson Dragon, so he's gathering the Signers. He's manipulated and intimidated all of us to bring us here." Goodwin smirked.
"Honestly, Jack, you make me sound so devious. All I did was moved along the course of fate at a faster pace than normal."
"Because you are devious, director." Wenslow grumbled.
"Jack, you wanted to be the turbo duel champion."
"Yeah, but I wanted to earn that title," Jack pointed out. "At this point, I'm starting to think that you've been rigging everything. I think your little plan involves setting me up, as bait for Yusei.
"Goodwin knew that you would come after me if I did everything exactly as he asked me to. Isn't that right, Director?"
"Don't be ridiculous," Goodwin said. He resembled a slippery snake more and more as the seconds ticked by. "I didn't even know about Yusei until you dueled him that night in the arena."
"Do you honestly expect me to believe that this is all some big coincidence? You needed to verify that Yusei had a mark, so you needed him and I to duel; with passion. So you created a situation in which the stakes would be as high as possible…"
/
Rally, unfortunately, had gotten himself into trouble again. Three goons chased him down an abandoned street in the slums of Satellite. It didn't look like Rally would be receiving any help.
"You can't run forever, half-pint!" the leader shouted. He carried a bat and a wicked sneer. "We ain't gonna hurtcha too bad!"
Rally managed to run over the divider line of an adjoining street, however, he ended up face first on the pavement.
The leader stopped and lifted the bat. A card flew out of nowhere, smacking the leader's hand, and forcing him to drop the bat. Rally used his chance to stand up.
"Hey, howdja do that just now?"
"Up there!" One of the other two goons called. He pointed up to an upper floor of the decimated building in front of the four boys.
"Jack?" Rally gasped.
"You boys are trespassing," Jack informed them. He jumped down to ground level.
"What're you talking about?"
"Nobody steps over that line." Jack said.
"Hey, come on man, be cool! We don't got no beef with you…" The three goons backed away slowly.
"You do now!" Jack cried. He activated his duel disk, drew a card, and played it. His Red Dragon Archfiend emerged and roared ferociously in the three boys' faces. Terrified, they ran screaming as fast as their little legs could carry them.
"Ha ha!" Rally laughed. "Yeah, that's what I thought!" Smiling, the red haired boy turned back to Jack, or not…"Huh; Jack, where'd ya go?"
Not far away, in an abandoned and completely filthy church, Rally found Jack. He was seated in the middle of the platform, in a throne-like chair.
"Hey Jack!" Rally called as he ran up to his old friend. "So, this is where you're hanging out these days, huh? Nice place!"
"What do you want?" Jack said coldly.
"I wanted to say thanks for earlier."
"I was just protecting my turf. That's all. Think nothing of it."
"Yusei just finished building this awesome new duel runner," Rally blurted excitedly. "It's looking really sweet! We're doing a test run tomorrow! Hey, you should come! He's gonna try to break the Canal Street Record! It's gonna be great!"
Moody as ever, Jack remained silent. Undeterred, Rally stepped directly in Jack's line of sight.
"Look, I know you and Yusei had a little falling out but it's been months! Can't you guys just shake hands and make up? Uh, hello?"
"You should get back before it gets dark." Jack advised.
"Yusei won't even tell me what happened."
"Nothing happened. It's just…people change, Rally…"
"Well, okay, but I just want everyone to get along again. You guys were best friends! Best friends don't just stop being best friends!" the little red-head said adamantly. "Well, we'll be in the Canal Street tunnel at noon if ya change your mind…Later, Jack!"
Later that night, a mysterious figure entered Jack's sanctuary. He was small and resembled a clown.
"Who is that? Show yourself!" Jack demanded. He stood up and walked a few feet, eyes combing the dim church.
"Quite a nice pad you've got here…" the intruder said breezily. "Very spacious; the must and mold motif is a brave choice…"
"Who are you?"
"Oh silly me; I forgot my manners." The little clown said, coming into sight from behind Jack's chair. "My name is Lazar, Mr. Atlas. And I'm here to see you on behalf of Director Rex Goodwin."
"That name supposed to mean something to me?"
"Director Goodwin would like to extend you an invitation…We've been watching you from afar, Jack, and we think you're an incredible duelist. A talent like yours is being wasted out here in the Satellite. You have what it takes to be a champion, Jack, to sit on a real throne as the king of the turbo duels. Haven't you always wanted to be a champion, Mr. Atlas? Furthermore, haven't you wondered about that mark on your arm?" Lazar took a break in his long speech to laugh creepily.
Jack gasped and quickly gazed at his covered forearm.
"That's right, we know all about it. Tomorrow evening at seven, the maintenance department will shut down the flow in the main pipeline for one hour…" Lazar sat down comfortably in Jack's previously occupied seat. He crossed his legs and put his fingers together in a conniving way. "We'll be waiting for you on the other side, Atlas. However, we do require that you bring one thing with you. We've heard there's another duelist here, some up and coming hotshot."
Very interested at this point, Jack looked directly at the clown man.
"We don't know much about him, other than that he uses the Stardust Dragon card. But some say he has what it takes to be the best. You need to find him and get his Stardust Dragon card. Think of it as your ticket to a new life…and believe me, Director Goodwin can give you a new life, Jack. No one will know you're from the Satellite. You'll be a respected resident of New Domino City. You'll have screaming fans, attend fancy parties, but, hey, if you wanna dwell in the slums and live with the cockroaches all your life, you're welcome to do so.
"The choice is yours, Jack. What's it going to be?" Without a word Lazar had left, leaving an empty chair behind him.
The next day, Jack stared out at the city from the top of a skyscraper. It looked much more alluring across the ocean than the Satellite. It had lights, decent food, warm place to sleep. It would probably be clean too.
Rally walked up behind him. "Hey Jack, um, why are we meeting up here?"
"I think I'd like to come watch Yusei's test run after all," Jack said, without turning around.
"Really! Well then, let's get going!"
"Sure, but I need help with something first," Jack's voice had taken on a dangerous, lower tone than usual.
"Whatever ya need, Jack, cuz I still owe ya one from before!"
"Yes, ya do…"

Yusei revved the engine to his first duel runner in the subway tunnels. Blitz, Tank, Nervin and Lise were hanging out nearby.
"Where's Rally?" Blitz suddenly noticed. "He'll be bummed if he misses Yusei testing out his new duel runner."
"When he headed out earlier, he said something about going to meet up with Jack." Tank told them.
"He went to see Jack?" Nervin's head popped up. "What a traitor!"
"Come on, Rally can hang out with whoever he wants to hang out with." Yusei cut in.
"Yeah, but what about loyalty?" Nervin argued.
Suddenly, Yusei's runner beeped. He had a message. The others huddled around the screen to see who it was.
"Huh? Jack?" Yusei said, slightly confused. The others also had mixed views of minor shock.
"Some east side thugs just ran off with Rally," Jack reported.
"They did what!" Without wasting another second the group of friends ran or drove out of the tunnel to search for Rally. Tank, Nervin and Blitz split up to check the streets. Yusei drove through the streets closest to Satellite's perimeter. Lise scanned buildings as she dashed past them.
Yusei's runner beeped again. It was Jack, again. "Yusei, I found him. Come down to the waterfront right away."
Yusei pulled up right at the edge of the water. Jack stood a little closer to the waves.
The dark-haired boy pulled off his helmet. "Where is he, Jack?"
"He's out there," Jack pointed out to the tumbling waves. A small wooden boat careened in the waves. Tied up and helpless, Rally's boat was not very safe at the moment.
"Rally!"
"The tide's still going out. He could be swept out to sea," Jack said. "And then there's that big storm front approaching."
"Jack, what is he doing out there?" Yusei pointed at his stranded friend.
"I guess there's no more reason to keep on lying to you," Jack faced Yusei now. "I put him out there."
/
"Whatever ya need, Jack, cuz I still owe ya one from before!" Rally said earlier.
"Yes, you do," Jack agreed. He stepped down from the ledge and turned around. "And now you're gonna pay me back tenfold." Jack quickly knocked Rally out.
Taken completely by surprise, the little boy had no time to prepare himself. He slid down Jack's leg and crumpled face first onto the roof.
/
"But Rally's your friend!" Yusei shouted at him.
Jack ignored the comment. "Know what people are saying? That you've got what it takes to be the best. But we both know that's not true, don't we, Yusei?"
"What're you saying?"
"You can either duel me and prove yourself, or you can swim out there and save Rally. What'll it be? What's more important to you; proving that you're a true duelist or are you willing to put dueling aside to help your little friend?"
Yusei glared at Jack.
"What're you made of?" Jack said stonily.
Frustrated and torn, Yusei shed his jacket and jumped into the waves.
Jack watched him tread water to reach Rally. Pathetic; you don't deserve to have Stardust Dragon… Jack scoffed as he took out Yusei's deck and removed Stardust. He lazily dropped Yusei's deck as he placed the card in his coat. Time for that test run. He took the duel runner as well and sped off.
Rally's boat tipped over. The little boy was thrown underwater. The ropes glued his arms to his sides. He wasn't able to swim and he was running quickly out of air. Just as Rally's breath gave out, Yusei grabbed the ropes restraining Rally and dragged him to the surface. The pair coughed hard as they swam back towards the Satellite.
Jack sped down the sewage pipeline, ignoring his conscience as he went. So long, Satellite.
Yusei and Rally finally got to shore. Lise extended her hands and helped them back onto the island. "You guys okay?"
"Yeah." Rally sniffled sadly. "This is all my fault." He handed Yusei his jacket. "I'm so sorry."
Yusei picked up his deck and put it back on his belt. He patted Rally's head comfortingly.
/
"Goodwin could never have made you the same offer because you would have never left your friends behind. Not for fame and fortune anyway.
"I on the other hand walked right into it, and by tricking me into taking your card, he gave you a reason to come after me…and I think that brings us all up to speed more or less…" Jack finished as he replaced his glove.
"In that case. I'll duel Jack on one condition...let Rally and the others go." Wenslow demanded. "You no longer need to ensure Yusei's cooperation."
"I agree. It just needs to be the two of us."
"If that's what the champion asks." Goodwin replied sincerely, raising his wine glass...

"Everybody listen, because the Fortune Cup Finale is finally here!" The MC yelled. "Through the struggles, the time has come for Wenslow to face off with the King of Turbo Dueling... Jack Atlas himself!" Their pictures appeared in the holo-sphere. "Let's get this going... so first up, the challenger, Wenslow." He rode out on his blue Duel Runner.
"And the challenged, the Master of Faster, the King of Turbo Dueling... Jack Atlas!" The cheers were louder for Jack as he entered riding the Wheel of Fortune. Both duelists stood ready at the starting line.
"Duelists, activate Speed World!" the MC yelled.
'Duel Mode engaged... autopilot standing by... Speed World activated..."
The purple aura of Speed World engulfed the stadium as the two Duel Runner displays changed.
"Ready... set... Duel!"
"Let's ride!"
Wenslow 4000LP 0SPC/Jack 4000 LP 0SCP
"Since I'm the challenger, I'll begin."I place one monster face-down in defence mode!" The reversed monster appeared before him. "I'll lay one card face-down and end my turn!" The face-down appeared behind his monster.
Wenslow 8000LP 0SPC/Jack 8000LP 0SPC
"I draw!" Jack shouted, doing so (Wenslow 4000LP 1SPC) (Jack 4000LP 1SPC). "I summon Twin-Sword Marauder!" From a blue portal, a towering black-armored warrior appeared, fiery crimson eyes burning from his helmet and serrated blades extending from his gauntlets (ATK: 1600). "Twin-Sword Marauder, attack his face-down! Twin Breaker!" The marauder charged, stabbing at the face-down, which rose into the form of Exploder Dragon (DEF: 0) It was destroyed by the attack.
"That triggers Exploder Dragon's special ability. Now your Twin-Sword Marauder is destroyed as well." Twin-Sword Marauder was consumed in a explosion.
"I'll end my turn with a face-down card." Jack finished.
"My move." Wenslow drew. "I use Speed Spell - Angel Baton to get two extra cards." Then he sent a monster in his hand to the graveyard. "I activate the effect of The White Stone of Legend to add a Blue-Eyes from my deck to my hand."
"I summon Sapphire Dragon." (ATK: 1900)
"Now attack him directly!"
(Jack: 2100LP 2SCP)
"I end my turn." Wenslow finished.
Wenslow 4000LP 2SPC/Jack 2100LP 2SPC
"I draw!" Jack shouted (Wenslow 4000LP 3SPC) (Jack 2100LP 3SPC).
"I activate Powerful Rebirth!" he shouted. "Using this Trap Card, I can Special Summon one Level four monster from my Graveyard!" Twin-Sword Marauder formed once more in a burst of power (ATK: 1600). "Plus, my Marauder gets a tune-up, namely one more Level and 100 more points!" Twin-Sword Marauder glowed with crimson aura (ATK: 1700/Level 5).
20
"Why would he increase its Level?" Yanagi wondered.
"Synchro Summon!" Leo and Dexter shouted, exasperated.
20
"Now I summon the Tuner Monster Dread Dragon!" the King yelled. In a flash of fire, a dark crimson dragon appeared, spreading relatively small wings as it roared, clenching its claws (ATK: 1100). "And now I Tune Dread Dragon with Twin-Sword Marauder to Synchro Summon...!"
Dread Dragon soared upwards and split into two glowing rings that descended and encircled Twin-Sword Marauder. The swordsman split into five glowing stars that collided, exploding with crimson power...
"The star of death that shines at the zenith of the heavens! Descend to the earth and make judgment upon the living! Synchro Summon! The dread king, Heavenly King Black Highlander!"
In a flash of fire, a never-before seen Synchro Monster appeared, a demonic warrior clad in armor of blood crimson, a regal cloak slung across its shoulders, its helm skeletal in appearance. It wielded an immense scythe that it raised with a roar (ATK: 2800).
Then Wenslow's face down lifted up.
"Go Bottomless Trap Hole." He announced as Heavenly King Black Highlander fell into a hole.
"You're not the only one with tricks up your sleeve Jack." Wenslow told him. "I was expecting you to bring out a monster with 1500 or more attack points."
"I end my turn with a face-down card!" The King finished, the face-down appearing on the field.
"I draw!" Wenslow called. "And I release Sapphire Dragon to summon Cyber Dragon." (ATK: 2100) Cyber Dragon appeared out of a blue portal.
"Attack Jack directly with Strident Blaze and end this duel!" He ordered.
"Hold it right there! I activate Half or Nothing!" Jack retorted. An imposing image appeared before Wenslow, a grizzled, armored figure wielding two axes. "Now you either halve your monster's points, or end the Battle Phase!"
"I'll halve Cyber Dragon's attack points which will reduce the damage you take."
(Jack: 1050LP)
"I'll end my turn with two face downs."
Wenslow 4000LP/Jack 1050LP
"I draw!" Jack yelled, doing so. (Wenslow 4000 LP) (Jack 1050LP) "I summon Masked Dragon in defense mode!" A crimson dragon with silver plating across its upper sides and wings appeared, it's mouth grotesquely stitched together (ATK: 1400).
"I'll activate the Dragon's Rage trap card. Now anytime a Dragon type monster on my side of the field attacks it inflicts piercing damage."
"I'll send it to the graveyard to special summon Trap Eater." (ATK: 1900)
"Now I Tune Trap Eater to Masked Dragon in order to Synchro Summon...!" Trap Eater soared into the heavens and split into four glowing rings that descended and encircled Masked Dragon, reducing it to three glowing stars that crashed together and exploded with dark power...
"The ruler's shouts echo throughout! Hammer of Victory, shatter the very earth! Synchro Summon! Flap your wings, Exploder Dragonwing!" Jack chanted. With an almighty roar, Exploder Dragonwing tore from the Synchro Summon (ATK: 2400).
"Attack Cyber Dragon!" He commanded.
"I don't think so." Wenslow shot back. "I activate Scrubbed Raid and send it to the graveyard to end the Battle Phase."
"I end my turn." Jack muttered bitterly.
Wenslow 3800 LP 7SPC/Jack 1050LP 7SPC
"My go." Wenslow drew. "And I summon Mirage Dragon." (ATK: 1600)
"But I'm not done yet. I remove Mirage Dragon from play to special summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon." (ATK: 2800)
"Then I'll trigger it's special ability and special summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon." (ATK: 3000)

Rex Goodwin was no longer in his tower in the stadium. He had discreetly slipped away at the first opportunity, and he was now in a place that quite literally had come from the other side of the world.
All around him stretched a desert landscape, extending into darkness that was held back by a fiery crimson light emanating from the colossal geoglyph in the ground, the stylized forms of the five Marks of the Dragon. Head, Tail, Wings, Front Claw and Back Claw shone from the earth, connected by more lines of crimson that completed the seal of the Crimson Dragon. Within the seal was a massive Incan temple of some sort, pyramid-shaped, with a single stairway set into the stones leading up to the immense altar crowning the majestic construction. This was the Stairway to the Dragon Star, the People of the Stars' foremost temple to their god, the Dragon Star, and its lesser servant, the Crimson Dragon.
At the apex of the temple, Goodwin stood, looking down at a glass tube containing a severed forearm. The arm glowed with fiery crimson light from the Mark of the Dragon etched upon it, the sign of the Dragon's Head.
"The time has arrived." Goodwin said. "The Signers are gathered, and the Crimson Dragon is manifested in our world. Now the powers of the five shall cluster, to create the vision of the dark foe!" With that, the mark on the arm shone far brighter. All five Marks of the Dragon seemed to explode with crimson radiance...
20
A flash of white light erupted from the point where the dragons' attacks had collided, blinding all within the stadium as the Crimson Dragon descended, engulfing the two Signers in its form.
When the white light faded, Wenslow and Jack found themselves on a road of white light high above a desert plain. Ahead of them, the road extended on ward into the dark skies, while the plain below extended into high mountains. Yusei was riding his Duel Runner behind them.
"Where the heck have we been transported to?" Wenslow asked.
"I have no idea." Jack replied, glancing around the world that had appeared. Behind them, two spheres of crimson light glided along the light road, one containing Luna, the other Akiza. Four Signers were gathered into one place, but somehow that fact was outweighed by the power this mysterious road of light seemed to hold.
Above them, a fiery crimson star appeared, the mighty Dragon Star. Below, the mountains came into view, containing the Stairway to the Dragon Star, which looked as if they had been built the day before. Numerous worshipers bowed down to the temple as five people stepped into view on top. The five bore the Marks of the Dragon upon their arms, the five marks shining just as brightly as those upon the arms of the four Signers above.
"Who are they?" Jack wondered, looking down at the five.
When the world around them stabilized again, the light road carried them above the Satellite. However, as they looked down at it, purple fire erupted, smashing buildings into rubble and connecting in great lines, forming the stylized image of a spider.
"This can't be real!" Yusei shouted in shock and horror as he watched the flames rage through his home.
"Perhaps this is the future." Jack said. "It can't have happened in the past, and it won't be happening now."
"Time to stop this duel." Wenslow insisted.
"No! We still have a score to settle, and even if this Duel carries us into Hell, that score will be settled here and now! Besides, if the Duel brought us here, then the Duel will take us back!"
"Fine then." Wenslow muttered in annoyance. "Blue-Eyes attack Exploder Dragonwing with Destruction Burst Stream!"
Exploder Dragonwing was shattered by a white beam of energy.
(Jack: 450LP)
"That'll end my turn."
Wenslow 3800LP/Jack 450LP
"I draw!" Jack snarled. (Wenslow 3800LP 6SPC) (Jack 450LP 6SPC) "I activate Speed Spell – Shift Down! Maybe the tortoise and the hare scenario is a better idea than I thought!" He slowed down immensely (Jack 450LP 3SPC). "And surprise, surprise, that trick actually did something good for me! I activate Speed Spell – Angel Blessing!" He drew four times.
"I activate Speed Spell – Over Boost!" Jack shouted. "Using this, I get to push ahead by four Speed Counters!" He sped up again (Jack 1000LP 7SPC). "Now I activate Speed Spell – Proof of Evolution!" A new Speed Spell appeared. It's image depicted a Synchro Summon, with a slight twist, the Synchro Monster being created seemed to be changing even as it emerged. "My Proof of Evolution Speed Spell allows me to Synchro Summon a Synchro Monster from my Graveyard this turn!"
"There aren't any-" Wenslow trailed off. "You plan to activate another Speed Spell, don't you?"
"You're right. I activate Speed Spell – Dead Synchron! So I think I'll remove from play my Trap Eater and Mad Archfiend..." The two Fiends appeared, Trap Eater dissolving into four glowing rings that encircled Mad Archfiend, cutting it down to four stars. The stars crashed together and exploded with dark power...
"The ruler's heartbeats will now file through here! Take witness to its creation-shaking power! Synchro Summon! My very soul, Red Dragon Archfiend!"
With a hellish scream of fury, Red Dragon Archfiend reappeared from the Synchro Summon, roaring in anger at Stardust Dragon (ATK: 3000).
"And to bring this thing to a close, I activate Speed Spell – Wrath of the Ruler!" Jack shouted. "While I have six or more Speed Counters, my Wrath of the Ruler Speed Spell allows my monster to attack all of yours, and when it destroys a monster in battle, you take damage equal to half of the destroyed monster's points!" Red Dragon Archfiend glowed with powerful aura. "Red Dragon Archfiend, attack Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon with Scorching Crimson Flare!"
Red Dragon Archfiend roared, unleashing a burst of flame that reduced Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon to ashes.
(Wenslow 3600LP)
Then a flurry of dark power ripped from Jack's Wrath of the Ruler card, striking him again.
"Red Dragon Archfiend, attack Blue-Eyes White Dragon with Scorching Crimson Flare!" Red Dragon Archfiend unleashed it's blast of fire again while Blue-Eyes retaliated with Destruction Burst Stream, destroying both dragons.
"I end my turn with that." Jack said. "Now, normally Wrath of the Ruler would destroy my Archfiend, and Dead Synchron would remove it from play, but Speed Spell – Proof of Evolution stops a Synchro Monster summoned by its effect from being removed from the field by card effects during that turn!" Then he slowed down drastically as Over Boost took its toll.
(Jack 450LP 1SPC)
"This duel has gone on long enough. I activate Birthright to bring Blue-Eyes White Dragon back." (ATK: 3000)
"Draw!" Wenslow called, doing just that. "End of the line Jack. Blue-Eyes finish him off with Destruction Burst Stream!"
Jack screamed as he was enveloped by white light.
Wenslow 3800 LP 9SPC/Jack 0LP 0SPC
White light engulfed them once more and there was a deafening CRASH...
20
When sight returned, Wenslow was back in the stadium which strangely was entirely silent. However, the source of the CRASH sound from earlier quickly became apparent, Jack having smashed his Duel Runner into a wall. He now hung limply out of it, blood pouring down his face from a few deep cuts on his forehead, and his right arm hung somewhat awkwardly down to the tarmac.
"Uh... what happened?" the MC said over the intercom, staring at the frozen image of Blue-Eyes White Dragon in the center of the arena. Then his gaze wandered to the scoreboard, which displayed the results at the finish.
"Well done." Jack groaned. "You won... fair and square. You're the champ now. Return Stardust to Yusei." As he spoke, the holographic image of the dragon faded away to nothing.
"From that vision, I don't see how that matters." Wenslow responded.
Jack then passed out.
"Has anyone heard from the director?" the MC asked. As if on cue, Rex appeared on a screen before him.
"Wenslow is the victor." Goodwin said calmly. "Inform the audience." With that, the screen went blank.
"Well, folks, it's hard to believe, but since the director himself confirmed it... we have a new champion! Wenslow has rightfully defeated Jack Atlas here! Give it up for our new champion!"
20
In the Dark Signers' lair, Roman stood.
"It seems our moment has finally arrived, friends." He said. "The time for the shadows to rise has come!"
