Disclaimer: I don't own the Mandalorian.

"Look at that," Din said. "A work of art."

Though his helmet completely concealed it, a look of pride was on the Mandalorian's face. He was observing the pumpkin in front of him - which he had just been carving into a Jack-o-lantern for Halloween. It gazed at him in return with its large smile at eyes he had sculpted onto it.

Din was satisfied. The pumpkin was all already to be lit up on the inside - but first, there was a certain someone he wanted to show it to.

"Kid!" Din called out. "Come on out here! Come and look at this!"

The Mandalorian turned and peered through the his mask towards the kitchen door. He was waiting for Grogu to walk through it to join him at his side as usual. He was looking forward to seeing the Child's reaction to the pumpkin.

The door didn't move. Nobody came through it.

"Kid!" Din called again before marching towards the door. "Come on! Come look at what I've made for Hallo-"

Din was cut off as the door opened - bringing a worried look to his face underneath his helmet.

The main room outside the kitchen was completely empty. There was no sign of Grogu out there. The adorable little critter was nowhere to be spotted.

"Huh?!" Din exclaimed, his helmet-covered-head glancing frantically all around the room. "Where is he? I know I left him out here!"

With no trace of green to be seen in the main room, the masked assassin slinked back into the kitchen. He strode back towards his pumpkin. No longer was he paying attention to it, however, as he was concerned about his small sidekick.

"Where could he be?" Din wondered. "I sure hope nothings happened to him. It's always been my responsibility to take care of the Chi-"

Din's worrying about his little friend was abruptly interrupted - as the pumpkin exploded.

SPLAT!

A startled yelp escaped from the normally calm Mandolorian. He jumped in surprise at what had happened to his Halloween decoration. Thick juice and thin pieces of skin flew all over him, sticking to his attire and helmet.

Din held up a gloved hand, unsuccessfully trying to protect himself from flying pieces of pumpkin. He lowered it down to take in what had become to his Jack-o-lantern - before letting off a small groan when he saw who was responsible.

"So that's where you are…"

Grogu was sitting in the middle of the remains of the pumpkin. He had been hiding inside it before blowing it up with the Force. Bits of orange stuck to the Child's green form. A happy giggle escaped him over how successfully he had managed to scare his guardian on Halloween.

"You're lucky I didn't decide to light that up," the Mandalorian muttered. "You wouldn't be laughing if you were stuck in a small space with a flickering flame."

The Child giggled again. His father figure's attempts to scold him fell on deaf pointy ears. He just picked up a piece of pumpkin in his tiny green hand - before proceeding to happily nibble away on it.

"Unbelievable!" Din sighed. "I put so much work into that pumpkin for this one night of the year - and you go ahead and eat it."

Grogu's lips were curled into a cute smile as pieces of the pumpkin passed through them. He thought this was a great Halloween. He had managed to play a scary trick and get a tasty treat both at the same time.

Din shook his head. He turned and began to walk out of the kitchen, leaving the ever-hungry baby critter to happily eat the pumpkin which had taken the Mandalorian hours to craft - and the child seconds too ruin.

"Maybe some Halloween candy will make me feel better," Din decided - unaware that Grogu had found his secret stash filled with sugary treats … and had eaten every single one of them too!
