I don't own these characters; DC/CW does.

This is the sequel to Quinary. It's the fifth in the Counting Saga and more omega verse. So, more Kara/Lena/Alex stuff. I already know there's going to be another one of these, so I hope you enjoy this one. As always, I lack a beta, so I'm sorry for any and all mistakes.

This chapter (and an overall theme of the story) features suggestions from reader/commenter SoraYagami.

Sixpence

1: Tender

Lena had to hold in a shiver as Alex put her hands on Lena's hips to once more correct her shooting stance. Dates at the gun range were half about Lena's safety and half utterly dripping sexuality. It gave Alex an excuse to constantly put her hands on Lena as a correction, but also just an excuse to touch Lena. Lena acted like she needed a lot of correction. Plus, there was just something raw, visual about firing guns. There was something downright primal about watching former Agent, current vigilante, genius-level intellectual, badass Alex Danvers fire guns. The smell of gunpowder around her only enhanced that.

There was something about Alex in her maroon Henley with the buttons open, showing a hint of skin, and the black pants, a little low on her hips, and matching boots… really, how had she not realized how sexy this was before her heat so long ago? She had to be blinded by the radiance of Kara, but never again. Alex and Kara were both sexy, especially in that badass, save-the-world way. She would orbit both of them, quite happily, for the rest of her life.

"I really need to know if I look this sexy shooting or if it's just you," Lena said as she pressed herself to Alex's side as Alex finished up with her targets. There was a hint of that enticing alpha musk just under the gunpowder. It took all of Lena's self-control not to bury her nose in Alex's neck.

Alex secured her weapon, turned, and smiled. "You're sexy with just about anything you do." She then blatantly looked Lena up and down. Lena did not feel sexy at all in her plain jeans and jade v-neck t-shirt, but the look helped.

"Aw, look at you, being smooth." Lena kissed her cheek. It was safe to do, as they were the only ones there today. It was one of the best things about going to either of their gun clubs. Of course, hers was a lot more comfortable, but both were places where people believed in minding their business.

Alex smirked and her shoulders squared, like she was proud. She was so damn cute. Lena just wanted to press her against the wall and kiss her, which was funny to think about, as this was badass Alex. Who pressed Alex against anything? Alex would let her take control like that if she wanted.

Lena decided to press on before she lost herself down the rabbit hole of how adorable both her Danvers were. I'm so damn lucky to have them. "You do realize, though, as sexy and fun as this is, you're going to have to plan a different date eventually, right?"

Alex chuckled, but she glanced away, rubbing the back of her neck. "I just… I want you to be safe."

Lena put a hand on Alex's cheek. "I know and I appreciate the hell out of it."

The many trips to the gun range were because of the attempt on Lena's life three months ago. Lena had been fine, physically speaking. Emotionally, she, Kara, and Alex had gone through a lot. Plus, Alex had been physically hurt, a lot, even though she liked to pretend she had been fine. That was even more emotional baggage for them. Lena had learned a lot about herself and Alex through that ordeal.

Lena was not sure if she would ever wrap her mind around what Kara and Alex were willing to do for her. She was not used to being cared for. Yes, she had partners in the past, but they were just so different from Kara and Alex, and then topping that off was how Alex was so different from Kara, even though they were so similar. Knowing that Alex was willing to kill someone to protect Lena, to send a message to anyone who might come after her, was still so overwhelming. How did Alex see such value in her?

Of course, having that knowledge influenced a decision Lena had come to. She wanted to run the idea by Kara. Alex would probably fight her on it. Everything was a fight with Alex unless it was Alex's idea. Lena did not mind this aspect of Alex's personality, especially since it served her well in most parts of her life, but being her girlfriend made things a little challenging.

"You're good with weapons you're familiar with, so let's just get you familiar with a variety." Alex glanced down at the different firearms she had Lena practice with today.

Lena smirked. "So, you'll start sparring with me like you do with Kara?" Just watching them was too much sometimes. She was not sure she would be able to actually learn something from Alex.

"We'll do some self defense techniques. Your main objective, even with gun play, is to get away." Alex's tone and face were stone, as expected of former Agent Danvers and now Sentinel.

Lena could only nod as a cold wave came over her. The concern somewhat sucked the fun out of this. It probably was not even a date. None of these trips to the gun range probably counted as dates anymore. This was just Alex trying to protect her. Alex, who would protect her with the same fierceness Alex protected Kara. Alex, who would kill someone to make sure they did not get a second chance to try to hurt Lena. Alex, who would kill someone to send a message about what would happen if someone tried to hurt Lena. It was flattering, but it just dampened this occasion, and those before it.

"Can we leave now?" Lena asked, rubbing her bicep. She wanted to get to the lunch part of the day, which was definitely a date.

"Yeah, of course. Whenever you want." Alex's voice was soft in a way Alex rarely was. Her eyes were even softer in a way that Lena had only seen for Kara.

Lena bit her lower lip, tasting her dark lipstick. She did want to leave, but… "Could you do one more target?"

Alex laughed, but wasted no time fulfilling that request. Lena stood back and admired her work, as well as how her short-sleeved Henley hugged her muscled torso, showed off her shoulders, and left little to the imagination as to what her abs looked like. My god. Lena was not sure how any agent attracted to women even functioned around Alex. Hell, she was not sure how she and Kara used to function around Alex. How did Kara manage to see her naked and then quit that cold-turkey? It took all of Lena's self-control not to drool.

"Happy now?" Alex asked after she finished.

"Somewhat. You don't want to know what would make me really happy," Lena replied with a smirk.

Alex just scoffed. They had not taken that step yet. It did not feel like the right time whenever they had the chance. They both agreed with that. But, it did not stop Lena from fantasizing about so many things.

"Ready to go eat?" Alex asked, a small smile on her face.

"Yes. I think I've earned a milkshake," Lena replied.

Alex nodded and they got into the car Alex rented for the day for the trip. They made their way to a small diner not too far away. It had quickly become their diner and Lena loved that, even if it meant extra time on the treadmill tomorrow. Or maybe Alex would stay the night and they could share a morning run. Those were more dates than the gun range, even though they did not talk much when they went on runs.

"This place is so quaint," Lena said as they went to their usual table in the back by the window. Lena liked the sun on her face, even though Alex did not think this was the safest place to sit. Lena did not think like that anymore, not with Alex or Kara there. She was able to just enjoy little things, like a normal person. She even got to sit with her back to the door. Alex would watch over her shoulder.

Alex chuckled a little. "It's like most diners, but the food is definitely at the top here."

Lena shrugged. She had only been to a couple of diners in life before meeting the Danvers. In college, she just binged on junk food one semester as an act of rebellion. Some of it was great, but she never thought of diners as much of anything. Kara changed her view of that and she was convinced the company just made food better.

"One day, we should bring Kara by," Lena said.

Alex nodded. "Yeah, she would definitely love to just run through this menu." She held up the menu, as if scanning it, but they had been there enough to have favorites and usuals.

"Have you ever taken Kara shooting?" Lena asked, the thought just occurring to her. Shooting did seem to be their thing — her and Alex — but she was not sure how that worked with the three of them, especially with Alex open to the idea of bringing Kara here.

"No. She's never been interested. I did have to teach her how to aim her eyes, believe it or not."

Lena laughed, as she could believe it. The conversation was interrupted as a waitress walked over. Her name tag read Maria, but Lena asked her name anyway. Maria smiled brightly at them as she took their drink orders and their meal orders since they both knew what they wanted.

"Are you going back to your apartment when we get back into the city?" Lena asked once they were alone again.

"Yeah, I want to take a shower and change clothes. I'll come over later if you both want me to," Alex replied.

Lena frowned a little at that response. "Of course, we both want you to. You shouldn't have moved out in the first place." Alex did not seem to understand how much they wanted her to stay at the penthouse. Lena was fully prepared to empty out a room for her to have even more private space. Alex would hear none of it. If it was anyone else, she would feel rejected, but this was Alex. Alex thought she was respecting Kara and Lena's relationship or something by leaving, not that she ever outright said that. It was just that she always thought she was protecting their relationship, as if she was not in a relationship with both of them as well, or if she was secondary.

"I keep telling you both I never moved in. I stayed there to heal up and now I'm healed," Alex replied.

"You're also over almost every day. You practically live there." It was wonderful, until Alex left to "go home."

"Now, you sound like Kara." A teasing smile danced on Alex's face.

Lena sat forward, hands in front of her, as if she was about to close a deal. "Well, she's not wrong, my dear. We want you home."

Alex glanced away. "I need my own space." That was always her excuse.

Lena held up her hands in surrender. "Yes, yes. I know we talked about this. Sorry. Let's talk about something else." There were many other topics to discuss.

They talked about Lena's shooting and Alex complained about being rusty since she was not as active as she used to be when she was an agent. Of course, they discussed science. Alex was doing her best to advance the healing formula that helped her after she was hit by a car and broke her leg and ankle. And made their next date. Alex actually invited her over to her apartment. That was different.

"Are you sure? That's your space and your space with Kara," Lena said. Okay, maybe she was a little guilty of trying to protect Kara and Alex's relationship, as if she was not in a relationship with both of them.

Alex laughed. "You're not forbidden. It's just I recognize I've been shit at planning our last few dates because I'm worried about you."

Lena blinked. "You…" She did not even know how to ask the question.

A little, bashful half-smile tugged at Alex's lips. "You don't seem as into shooting like you used to. It comes across like I'm helping you with homework."

Lena smirked. "I would love for you to help me with my homework." Then she sighed. "It does feel that way. It used to be so much fun and I keep trying to recapture that feeling. It drains me a little more when I just can't. I know you're doing it because you want me to be safe and I appreciate that so damn much, but, yes, shooting doesn't seem like a date anymore."

Alex nodded. "I owe you a real date with real intimacy and privacy. So, come over tomorrow. I'll order in. No, you know what, I'll cook."

Lena arched an eyebrow. "You cook?" This was the first she was hearing of that.

Alex's face scrunched up. "A little bit. After dinner, we can watch a movie or something."

Lena nodded. "Sounds nice."

"Then, it's a date?"

"You bet." Lena smiled. Alex smiled back.

-8-8-8-8-

Kara wrapped Lena up in a warm embrace the second she came through the door, despite the fact that she smelled like gunpowder and grilled cheese. She just wanted to hold Lena. She always missed Lena and Alex, even though she respected their time together. Lena hugged her back and kissed her. Kara smiled as she stepped away.

"Wait, where's Alex?" Kara looked behind Lena, all ready to hug Alex and there was no Alex. Her shoulders dropped and she pulled her shirt sleeves down over her hands.

"She went back to her place, but it's good to see you, too." Lena kissed the end of Kara's nose.

Kara whined and fiddled with her glasses. "You know I'm always happy to see you, but I'm also always happy to see Alex." She always wanted both of her bond-mates. They did not seem to get that. "How was the date?"

"Better once we sat down for lunch. Going to the range doesn't feel like a date anymore, more like a training exercise." Lena pouted.

Kara's heart dropped a little for Lena. She loved going to shoot guns with Alex as a date. That was really their go-to-date and Lena was always excited to go. But, this explained why Lena tended to return home a little less than excited, but she never seemed disappointed, so that was good.

"You told her that, right?" Kara asked, as that was very important. "You know better than anyone how oblivious we can be."

"Yes, I know and, yes, I told her. She felt the same way and we're going to have dinner at her place tomorrow to make up for it."

Kara cooed. "Dinner at her place. Maybe you'll get lucky!" She wiggled her eyebrows.

Lena laughed. "Shut up." She gave Kara a playful shove that, of course, did absolutely nothing. "Anyway, she said she's coming over, so we can do your favorite activity."

"Excuse me, we all like cuddling on the couch. It's a great way to relieve stress."

Lena had to nod to that because it was completely true. "When she comes over, though, don't badger her about moving in. She has her reasons for maintaining her apartment."

Kara scoffed. "I'm sure she does, but I'm still going to bother her. That's what I do."

With a sigh, Lena shrugged. "True. Can you save it for next time, though? I want to bring up something in the next couple of days and I don't want her already on edge."

"What is it?" Kara gathered Lena back into her arms.

"I'm going to ask her to be my bodyguard whenever I go outside for L-Corp."

Kara nodded. "You're expecting an argument, but considering we know how committed Alex is to your personal safety, she'll probably go right along with this."

"Yeah, but she's been trying her best to leave security alone. I don't want to start any more trouble for her at L-Corp."

"She won't care about that. She wants you safe." Kara put her hands on Lena's hips. "We want you safe. I know I'd rest easier knowing for the second I'm not there if you're in danger, Alex is there. Also, I'd feel a lot better for the second I'm not there and Alex is in danger, you are there. I really like this idea." Even though she could be anywhere in the world in the blink of an eye, sometimes even that fraction of time mattered. She was very aware of how fast trouble could happen and, yes, it would be a weight off of her shoulders if her bond mates were there to protect each other until she showed up.

Lena gave her a small smile. "Let's hope she does, too."

"Maybe save it for after your date. You wanna get lucky, right?" Kara grinned.

Lena tilted her head back and laughed. It was a sweet, joyous sound, like beautiful music. "Have you imagined that? Your bond-mate inside your bond-mate, panting, moaning, lost in their pleasure?"

Kara groaned. "Wicked." Now, she would not be able to think of anything else. Alex and Lena together would be a grand sight.

"You started it." Lena gave her a soft kiss. "But, seriously, if that does happen, would you mind?"

Kara's forehead wrinkled. "Do you mind when I sleep with Alex?"

"I just want to make sure. We all know, for this to work, we need a lot of communication."

Kara nodded. She's right. "Then, no, it won't bother me. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, especially since we both know you want her knot."

Lena sucked her teeth and ducked her head for a second. "Please, don't tell her that."

Kara smirked. "Only if you promise to help me convince her to move back in."

"Oh, my god! Where is this deviousness coming from? You clearly don't deserve two bond-mates."

Kara kissed her, flicking Lena's lips with her tongue as she pulled away. "Too bad I have them. Now, come on, help me. You know you want her here."

"You could always just pout. She always gives in to that."

"Oh, I planned to do that already. You can add in."

"I'd rather not. You have to remember our relationship is still fresh. It's been us going slow for three months, making sure we're both comfortable. Give her time and don't bother her when she comes over."

Kara smirked. "You bothered her already, haven't you?"

"That doesn't matter. Just leave it alone, please."

It was like Lena did not know who she was. It was almost her sworn duty to bother Alex. Alex was really the only one who would fully put up with her bratty behavior and spoil her. It was nice. "Oh, I'm bothering her. I've got a list, like why do you get two dates in a row? When was the last time she took me on a date?"

That really was her just being a brat. Alex had taken her on a very lovely date last week. She found an animal shelter that let them play with the dogs and cats. A couple of days after that Supergirl made an appearance there and helped get a bunch of little critters adopted. Alex really planned the best dates with her.

Lena chuckled and stepped away. "You know you could always take her on a date. No rules say the alpha has to do it, not to mention your culture doesn't even have alphas."

"It's not about her being an alpha. I'm just used to it. You know, Alex doing that kind of stuff. She'd always set where we go and then I just threw random places in as we were moving around."

"Well, there's no rules saying that's how it has to be. Maybe Alex would like for you to take her someplace right from the start."

Kara nodded. "You're right." She could plan a date. How hard could that be?

"Good luck." Lena smirked at her, like she would have some difficulty with this, and then walked away toward their bedroom.

"Hey, I planned tonight!" Kara said to Lena's back.

Lena only laughed. Okay, tonight was not really planned. Depending on what time Alex arrived, they would all eat together and cuddle on the sofa with a movie or two. If Alex came early enough, she and Kara would spar a little in the gym. If Lena was not busy, she would watch. That was just a normal day for them.

"Think date." Kara sat down at the kitchen counter and tapped her chin. She never planned dates with Alex. Alex always did and it had nothing to do with her being the alpha. Kara did not care about the alpha and omega stuff. Their relationship was just built on Alex taking the lead. So, it always fell to Alex to make the plans if they were doing anything outside.

Well, I'm not a lost alien anymore and I know how Earth works now. Plus, Alex deserves some romance from me. Problem was, Kara had no idea what to do. Well, Alex usually takes me somewhere I like, even if it's not romantic. She's just looking to make me happy. So, I should take her somewhere she'll like, someplace that will make her happy. Guns and science Alex already did with Lena. What was left? Oh!

Kara grabbed her laptop and searched up motorcycle shows. Lena came up behind her, fresh from the shower, smelling like mint, and rested her head on Kara's shoulder. She hummed in Kara's ear while Kara breathed her in. The scent and feel made her focus more.

"Good decision," Lena said.

"You think so?" Kara turned to look at Lena.

Lena nodded. "She loves her bike. She'll enjoy seeing a vast number of bikes and motorcycle things." She kissed Kara's cheek.

"I'm better at this with you than I am with her."

"Again, this will be fine."

Kara nodded, but her stomach twisted. Still, she purchased the tickets. Now, she could not wait to let Alex know she made a date for them.

-8-8-8-8-

Alex was late, not that they had a set time to start their night, but Alex was still late. She did not really have an excuse why, just lounging around her apartment, as if to get her money's worth. What a weird idea, but she spent so much of her time at the penthouse, it was almost a waste to have her apartment, but she could not let it go. Part of it was because she wanted to give Lena and Kara their space, but also she needed a space of her own.

Of course, that last part seemed a little cowardly, or like she had one foot out of the relationship. But, she was all in with Kara. They were bond-mates. And, she could really see herself spending the rest of her life with Lena, talking science and keeping her safe. So, maybe the cowardly thing really came from a fear that she might somehow mess up this great thing she had going. If they saw her too much, they might realize she was not as special as they thought.

"Alex, I was about to text you," Kara said as she opened the door.

Alex blinked and put those thoughts away. She greeted Kara with a kiss, swift, but right on the lips. "Sorry I'm late. I just lost track of time." Of course, losing this time meant she missed out on doing her usual things with Kara, but Kara did not seem upset about that.

"It's fine." Lena stepped over and kissed Alex, also right on the lips. "Kara's just ready to eat."

Alex laughed. "Of course. You could've started without me." Not that Kara ever would.

Kara yelped, eyes wide. "Never!" She gave Alex a playful, but scolding swat to her shoulder.

"I'm sorry I kept you waiting." Alex hugged Kara. She was genuinely sorry. She should have been more considerate of Kara's feelings. It was not like she was doing anything pressing at home and she was very aware they would not eat dinner without her.

"It's okay, but I get the middle on the couch because you two had a date today and you're having a date tomorrow," Kara said.

"Is that all right with you? Did you have something planned?" Alex asked as they all made their way to the couch. She was dressed for their typical night of cuddling, just a black tank and some sweatpants.

"I didn't," Kara replied.

"You two are hopeless. I connected our calendars for this exact reason and, apparently, I'm the only one who uses the calendar." Lena frowned as she sat down, curling her legs up on the sofa. She was in a camisole and very short shorts, showing off so much skin.

Kara made herself comfortable in between Alex and Lena. She immediately grabbed for a carton of takeout, but passed it to Alex instead of eating it. Alex smiled her thanks.

"So, what are we eating and watching?" Alex asked.

"I won on Thai food," Lena replied.

Kara held up an authoritative finger, which meant nothing around her bond-mates. "We are trying that new Peruvian place, eventually. It's happening."

"Can we let them get established and build a reputation? We can't keep popping up at new restaurants," Lena replied.

Kara pouted. "We could, but you don't want to. That's okay. Alex will try a new place with me on our date this weekend."

Alex's brow furrowed. She could not recall scheduling a date with Kara. Where did she plan to take Kara and when over the weekend? And how the hell did I forget that? It was scary. She did not have any recent head injuries that might cause her to forget.

"We have a date?" Alex asked, squinting as she searched her mind. There was nothing, not even a hint.

Kara grinned and put her chin in the air. "I planned it! Lena helped, but I'm taking you out on Saturday if that's okay with you." Kara glanced away, as if she actually thought Alex would decline.

Alex grabbed Kara into a one-armed hug. "I would love to go out with you." She kissed Kara's cheek. "Where are we going?"

"I looked up a motorcycle show you'd probably like and it's close by, so I don't have to fly us anywhere crazy and you won't have to worry about that. You could ride us on your bike."

Alex nodded. "Sounds exactly like something I'd like. Now, I have two great dates to look forward to." She smiled at Lena. Where did these words come from? They came just so easy with Kara and Lena.

"Oh, you," Lena shook her head and Alex only smiled more.

They settled in for a historical drama, something they could all enjoy on different levels. Kara liked history, as she took it as a form of storytelling, like it was some kind of mythology. Lena liked it as a way to break down human behavior. Alex liked it because, like science, it helped explain how the world worked and why the world was the way it was. But, also, since it was a movie, there were inaccuracies that bothered all of them.

"I hate when they add unnecessary details. The story is already dramatic without the lies," Kara complained. She was pressed against Alex's side now with Lena lying in her lap.

"Every movie and show does it," Lena pointed out. She moved enough to bring her arm up to rub Kara's leg.

"Like everything else, we just have to hope it's not too much to spoil the rest." Alex kissed the side of Kara's head as she wrapped an arm around Kara's shoulder. Her hand ended up on Lena's arm and she caressed the area with her thumb.

"I guess." Kara grumbled and Alex kissed the side of her head once again, trying to soothe her.

Kara slumped over, pressed more against Alex. Lena whimpered, but readjusted since Kara's lap was a little tilted down. Despite Kara's pouting, the movie turned out to be pretty good. They ended up starting another one.

All too soon, it was late and Alex needed to go. "I'll see you both tomorrow."

Kara immediately pouted. "What? Stay! We can watch one more thing."

"Sorry, Stitch. I got work tomorrow." She winked at Lena and then offered Kara an apology kiss.

"You can go to work from here. You could go to work with Lena." Kara motioned down to Lena, who made a show of zipping her lip.

"Kara," Alex sighed.

"What?" Kara threw her hands up. "I didn't say move in. I just said stay the night. You have everything you need here, including your bond mate and girlfriend. You can spend the night. We'd love to have you."

That was true. Spending the night was not moving in and she could stay later. Besides, it was nice being cuddled together. She did not have a pressing reason to be home and being alone in bed was never tempting. The pause seemed to cause Lena to look up with hopeful eyes. Alex sighed. I'll never be able to resist both of them. Not that she cared now. She would love to give them the world. Added to that, she was empowered by how they wanted her. The two most powerful women she knew wanted her with them.

"I guess I can stay tonight," Alex said, as if it pained her, to tease them.

"Yes!" Kara cheered and pressed kisses all over Alex's face.

Alex tried to pull away, but of course, Kara had to go overboard. "Just the night," Alex stressed. She did not want Kara to take this for more than it was.

Kara nodded and grinned. "Got it! Understood! New movie!" Kara quickly put something else on before Alex changed her mind, not that Alex would.

Alex settled back into her position and Kara did the same. They did not make it far through another movie as it was too late. After a while, they all retired to Alex's room. Her bed was the only one they all shared together. She did not want to encroach on Kara and Lena's bed. Her bed fit them all with room to spare, as if they had planned this when they put together Alex's room all those months ago.

"This is nice," Kara said from her spot in the middle.

"It is," Alex concurred. It was nice. Maybe she would do it more often. This definitely beat sleeping alone.

"Kara, don't," Lena warned.

Kara cackled. "So, you should move in and we can do this every day." Lena hit her with a pillow and Alex laughed.

-8-8-8-8-

Next time: Lena tells Alex her idea while Kara has to be there for Lena after a very embarrassing incident.
