57 days into the apocalypse.

Things have been going well. We crossed the bridge, and now we're officially in Staten island. The past ten days have been, peaceful, for the lack of better wording. We haven't gotten jumped by any Plagued, and so far, it seems like we've managed to loose Billy's men.

Natalie and David weren't bad companions. They'd help out with scavenging, would stay guard at night while others slept. And Jason, despite his initial skepticism, seems to be opening up to them too.

David is practically the most joyous guy in our little group. His funny and sarcastic personality can't help but make us smile, and him being a nerd like me, is a joy to converse with.

Don't get me wrong, James is a great companion, and I love chatting with him. But with me and David having so many common interests, and being the team nerds, we could have a good conversation every now and then. He isn't the one for violence much and is kind of a softy, the primary reason why he joined the IT department. But he does keep a Glock 19 around for self defense.

Natalie is pretty cool too. She has a killer aim with her M14 rifle. Even James was impressed when she showed off her skills during a shooting competition we had. And with her skills and experience from her time as a police officer, she was certainly the deadliest amongst us. Though, she wasn't necessarily hostile.

To be honest, she's actually a pretty chill person, even cracking jokes and stuff every once in a while. Though, despite her light hearted nature, she carries an aura of strength that warns you not to mess with her.

Also, it's honestly funny how it took us over eleven days to cross the distance, that would have taken us barely a few hours to cross in regular times. Well, by regular I mean without the Plagued and stuff. With current situations, there are a heck lot of things that put resistance down our path. Scavenging for food and supplies, looking out for the Plagued, looking for new roads or ways or paths if the original path we're following turns out unusable for some reason, etc, to name a few. This was the primary reason why it took me over a month to go from Manhattan to Brooklyn. And now, we have to worry about Billy sending his men after us too after the stunt we pulled at his base.

For now, it's better if we focus on going forward. Staten island, having the least population among all five of the New York boroughs, there's less of a chance for us to encounter Plagued. And with roads cutting straight through Staten island, to the out of New York, we are likely to get out of here really fast. And once we're out of state island, it'll be only a few days, maybe a couple weeks of travel by foot, hopefully.

The night is deepening. For the past couple days I've been seeing large dark clouds in the sky. A storm is probably coming soon.

It's better if I get some rest now. We got a long way to go tomorrow.
