-Anya POV-

Becky had called her almost instantly after the picture had gone out. She tried to explain what was going on and Anya knew her too well to actually believe the picture that she had seen. It was so clearly fake.

And yet…

She could feel the anger bubbling up inside of her. God it made her feel so awful, just thinking about how he could be with someone else right now-

No. She couldn't think about something like that. He was just trying to mess around with her. Besides, she needed to focus on the mission and get invited to his house already. If Papa found out that she was having such ridiculous thoughts he would probably have a heart attack.

Most days she was very grateful that Papa and Mama could not read minds like her.

As she sat up on her bed, she heard a gentle knock at the door. Was Papa or Mama home already? Anya got up, heading towards it, and looked through the peephole.

What was Damian even doing here? Did he want to rub it in her face that she was just another one of his many rumored girls, someone he played around with for a while and then just ditched like they were the trash of the week?

"Anya, I know you're in there. You accidentally tapped the door with your foot when you came to look through the peephole."

Anya jumped back slightly, startled. She hadn't meant to. She would not make a good spy if she made dumb mistakes like that.

Unlocking the door, she opened it and Damian came inside, bending over and taking off his fancy name brand sneakers.

"Anya, we need to talk."

She rolled her green eyes, shutting the door behind him,

"About what? I already know that picture is fake. Becky hates your guts way too much to do anything like that."

Damian looked frightened at her,

"And you?"

Anya scoffed,

"And I what?"

Damian sighed softly,

"Do you hate me?"

Anya's eyes widened in shock. This could go several ways. If she said no, she could probably get easier access to his home, faster, and complete the mission finally. If she said yes, however, she could make him grovel. He could maybe get a taste of how she felt. She wouldn't just stand idly and become another one of his girls.

No. Focus on the mission, Anya.

"No. Why would I?" She smiled widely, trying to hide her pain.

"Good," Damian pulled her in closely, holding her so tightly. His embrace was so warm, unlike anyone else's. His mind was racing with so many thoughts.

God she's so pretty.

She's so close.

I can't stay away from her.

Anya resisted the urge to burst out laughing. He thought these things about all of the girls, probably. Whatever. She had to focus on the mission. A good spy doesn't blow their cover.

He finally let her go,

"Anya, do you want to go to your room?"

Anya's eyes widened in shock. Already? He was moving really fast! He had to have noticed her expression because he then shook his head nervously,

"Not like that! I just didn't think you wanted to sit and talk here next to the shoe closet."

Oh. Anya nodded, internally cursing herself. She was so oblivious sometimes.

They sat on the floor of her room as he didn't want to sit on her bed with his outside clothes.

"So uh what are we doing now?" Damian whispered, even though there was no one to hear him except for her.

Anya shrugged,

"Sitting on the floor?"

He was not the brightest, she thought.

Damian stared her,

"Is there something you want to talk about?"

Anya tilted her head from side to side. He was being weird again.

"No?"

Damian sighed,

"Then do you want me to leave?"

Anya's body jolted at the question,

"No-no. Don't leave."

Damian looked at her like she was the weird one,

"Uh, alright. Do you want to talk about the dance?"

Anya nodded; anything but him leaving. She needed to make sure she got on his good side.

"Sure, why not. What about it?"

Damian looked terrified,

"Anya? Has anyone besides Alistair asked you to it?"

Anya raised her eyebrows,

"What? No? What are you talking about? Who would ask me?"

Damian smirked, the confidence in him returning,

"Then go with me."

Hi guys, I'm really sorry this took so long and it's so short I got really busy this week with school and my personal life. Update on the guy I've been talking about though! It's not insanely good (kind of good though) like I walked with him to class the other day, though it was with our mutual friend. Though, not going to lie I think he looks at me all the time during class and whenever I see him in the hall. Maybe I'm seeing stuff. 0_0

Anyway thank you for reading and please give kudos, comment, and subscribe. It means so much to me!

And just a heads up, I am most likely going to start posting only one or two chapters a week, though if I have more time, I will post more. I am writing as I am posting and despite my best efforts to try to make a buffer, I just can't help myself from posting the chapter as I write it. No impulse control. ?
