Dear Lucy,
I am writing to thank you for the letter you sent two weeks ago. You have no idea how much it meant to me for someone to reach out, even over such a long distance. And not just over space but in time; I don't think I would have been brave enough to write so someone I haven't seen for years. All this is to say: thank you. Truly, truly, thank you. You have no idea the impact your kind words have had.
Knowing you, you'll brush off my thanks and tell me anyone would have done it, that it was the right thing to do or some other such nonsense. Well, let me tell you that no one else wrote. No one offered to visit. And in my grief I felt terribly alone, but your letter was light in the darkness.
But I digress. Your offer to visit was very kind, but I feel I could not tear you away from your life to come into mine, which presently is very bleak, and very far away. So, I would not feel right in asking you to take on all the costs of travel without being able to repay you in the warm hospitality your visit would warrant. However, if it would not be too great an imposition, I should like to come to London and become properly reacquainted. Though if it would be too great a burden on your household, do not hesitate in telling me so.
I apologise for the short missive, but I have not the heart for writing one longer - that isn't to say that I would not enjoy reading a long letter from you, should you have the time and inclination.
To my old friend who has proved more true than any other I've ever had,

Disclaimer: I own nothing yadda yadda yadda Narnia isn't mine bla bla bla I ain't plannin' on selling this so we ain't gotta problem
Hey there ho there, it's been a while! No promises about anything - I'm in my final semester and essays are coming in like a snowstorm, so, in a way, Lyla's apology for the shortness of her letter kinda applies here too. If I write anything at all it'll probably be short, but hopefully the vibes will still be good! That said, it's also been a loooong time since I wrote anything for Narnia, so I'm trying to ease back into it, but my characterisations are probably a bit dodgy right now, if they ever were on point lol
Anyway, feel free to shoot me a line! I may not have heaps of time for writing, but I can manage my message inbox and I'd love to chat. How's everyone going?
Trix
