First of all, HOORAY THIS FANFIC IS NOT DEAD!

As you all know, two authors were writing this fanfic: RA Hanozaki and CA Hawkins. Unfortunately, RA Hanozaki graduated in college last year and had been busy ever since. She has not replied to my messages, so I, CA Hawkins, took matters into my own hands.

Anyway, here are reasons why LEO is not in Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, and Ravenclaw. And why he is in Slytherin:

HUFFLEPUFF

Yes, he may be loyal to his friends and mother and he can be hard-working with his inventions... BUT...

Hufflepuffs are optimistic.
Leo is actually dark when it comes to the thoughts in his head.

Hufflepuffs avoid conflict.
Leo wants to smash monsters' heads and burn his enemies. He will probably whine like "Can I kill him now?"

Hufflepuffs are good emotional absorbents.
Leo fears emotions. Also like his dad, he has no idea how to deal with "organic life-forms."

Hufflepuffs want to be the person someone needs.
Leo wants to be the person someone wants—for who he is, without having felt the need to make everyone happy.

Hufflepuffs think of themselves as good people.
Leo wants to be good because he doesn't think he has earned the title of being good. (Leo y u do dis to urself huhuhu)

GRYFFINDOR

Yes, he may be loyal to the point of self-destruction; he may be brave, has a sense of duty, is reckless and strong, and he may be a bit offensive though it isn't his intention... BUT...

Gryffindors have strong morals.
Leo can bend his morals for his loved ones.
Leo can also bend his morals for his own survival—willing to join gangs to survive the street life.

Gryffindor bravery is doing something because it is right.
Leo does something because it's the only way—the logical way—and the risks are well-deserved.

Gryffindors are social butterflies.
Leo does everything alone.

Gryffindors are confident.
Leo is not confident with himself at all.

RAVENCLAW

Leo may also have Genius Intellect (something only he shares with Annabeth among the seven demigods). He may be a mechanic enthusiast, an inventor, a creator, and an innovator. He may be able to handle isolation and being away from social interaction... BUT...

Ravenclaws take knowledge for knowledge's sake.
Leo wants to learn about what he needs for his survival or for his convenience.

Ravenclaws are ALWAYS observing and curious.
Leo observes when he needs to and knows when to stop when his curiosity is not needed.

Ravenclaws can handle isolation.
Leo is not easy to please when he is alone. He has been too lonely to want it. He distracts himself through working.

Ravenclaws are perfectionists.
Leo is fine with a not-so complete Festus since he has a goal in mind, never mind the consequences, he'll deal with them later. He doesn't need Festus to be perfect. Festus just needs to work.

Ravenclaws are prideful.
Leo hates and doubts himself. (Ugh Leo y ugh mah feelz)

SLYTHERIN

WHY SLYTHERIN?!

Slytherins are insecure.
LEO'S FATAL FLAW IS INFERIORITY. He thinks he is the worst in everything and beats himself up for it over and over and over. His mistakes haunt him forever and he doubts himself so much. He is his own worst enemy.

Slytherins can keep big secrets.
Leo managed to hide his Fire Abilities to everyone until he had no choice but to use it—hid it even from his best friends. No one would've thought he'd had special abilities before that.

Slytherins are cunning.
Leo uses his wit to manipulate his enemies. Though he uses his violence at times, he also uses his wit and cunning more to win against his enemies. This is seen with how he managed to kill three cyclopes by himself.

Slytherins live behind a mask.
Leo pretends to be a joker when he isn't.
Leo also show his self-confidence, stating that he is awesome and hot because he wants people to think that he is not broken—that he is not fazed by any single thing... even if it kills and scares the fuck out of him.
Leo hides his emotions too well to the point of scary—very Slytherin.

Slytherins are loyal to their own.
Leo is loyal but only to those he sees as his family—not anyone else.

Slytherins are usually pessimistic.
Leo would rather stick to logic and reality and would do something because the goal far outweighs the risk. He died because the goal of saving his friends and everyone else is far greater than him being alive. Ouch.

Slytherins are ambitious.
Leo nearly killed himself after working long and hard on the Argo II alone because he was determined to help with the end of the Civil War—because he wanted peace.

Slytherins are self-preserving.
Leo did all he can to survive when he needed it. He would do any means necessary if it meant that he needed to be alive. He only died because it was a far better solution than anything else.

Slytherins are self-judging.
Leo keeps judging himself the most. He berates himself and he is his own worst enemy—a very negative Slytherin trait. His strive for his own version of perfectionism in the case of Leo wanting to be a good friend is fatal.

Slytherins are charming.
Leo was able to join gangs as a kid by merely using his wonderful charms of being a jokester.
Leo also values his charm than anything else he possesses.

Slytherins are resourceful.
Even though he thinks he is not worth a damn, Leo still believes he can be close to anyone or do anything if he wants to, using the littlest resources as possible.

Slytherins are proud of their heritage.
Leo is proud of being of Mexican descent.
