I'd like to thank my loyal readers for giving me the support. I have been doing a bit better mentally but since it's approaching the one year anniversary of the incident involving a family member it should be expected that it would get to me. However with the continued support of my loyal readers I won't let it get in the way of writing this story and putting out quality material for your reading pleasure. So here it is enjoy this chapter which will take place a few days after the last one. There are quite a few plot holes and inconsistencies with earlier chapters that would confuse the heck out of readers so I apologize in advance for that and those issues will be addressed.
Chapter 46: A Bit Of Extra Training
-Kumo Training Field-
Time: 1:30 PM
''Come on you guys aren't tired already are you?'' Kenji asked with a smirk.
It has been a good hour since Kenji had decided to try his luck with training team eleven and despite this being his first time teaching and training students he felt that with the current state the three younger Jonin were in he was doing a pretty damn good job. Since the three of them were going to fight in a real war for the first time he decided that to best prepare them for large battles was to have them fight wave after wave of shadow clones. So far he was satisfied with the tired and sweaty team eleven as it showed that they were actually putting in effort in fighting off his army of shadow clones and the vantage point of watching them from a tree helped him keep tabs on all of them at the same time.
Naruto, Kurotsuchi and Genma were seen standing in front of a mob of Kenjis and they were slouched over in exhaustion as they've never been through such intense physical exertion since Mako trained them as Genin. Even Naruto with the stamina provided by the Kyuubi was reaching his limit. Genma and Kurotsuchi on the other hand looked like they were about to throw in the towel and this earned a laugh from Kenji.
''I see you two are about to quit. Is that what you're gonna do to me and Naruto on the battlefield?'' he said mockingly.
Now Kenji didn't say it to offend or hurt the feelings of Kurotsuchi and Genma but rather it was to play with their heads since while war can put someone to their physical limits it can also have a huge psychological impact on you as well. His mocking did a very good job in getting the two of them riled up and he was going to do everything he can to make sure they're prepared mentally and potentially show them the consequences if they quit on him now.
''There's no freaking way I'm ever gonna quit on anyone especially Naruto!'' Kurotsuchi got out between breaths.
''Hell yeah over our dead bodies.'' Genma added, ''You can try all you want senpai you're not getting us to quit.''
Kenji smirked at the reactions he got and it was what he planned since he wanted them to ignore their state of exhaustion he summons another hundred clones and orders them to charge toward Naruto, Kurotsuchi and Genma. The clones all draw their swords and charge straight at them and all of them groaned in annoyance when the army of Kenjis came barreling toward them.
''Ah shit, here we go again.'' Naruto said as he tosses one of his father's kunai at a Kenji clone dispelling it.
''Godammit.'' Kurotsuchi moaned.
''Fuck it, let's do this.'' Genma chuckled.
Naruto then activated a rasengan and slams it into a group of ten Kenji clones destroying them completely but before he could react another group of thirty appeared behind the previous group and just as the Kenji clones were about to strike the blonde down with their swords Kurotsuchi fired a large vat of quicklime at them trapping them. Genma then takes the chance to perform a series of hand seals and taking in a deep breath he uses a Wind Release: Whirlwind Fist technique to punch several of them in their chest and the slicing wind pierces their bodies and they are blown away in a powerful blow which turns them into puffs of smoke much to the satisfaction of the team. Seeing their excellent teamwork Kenji had a huge grin plastered on his face at their work and brings out several dozen more clones.
''You guys are doing good that's exactly how you use teamwork to fight larger groups of enemies! Come on I'm getting pumped up watching you work yourselves into a sweaty mess.'' Kenji called out, ''Alright me separate them from each other so I can see how well they'll do if they have to fight large groups by themselves! Let them have it!''
''I wanna see how long they'll last when we single them out.'' said one of the Kenji clones.
''Oh come on!'' Naruto whined.
''Fuck off man.'' Kurotsuchi thought in annoyance.
''Motherfucker!'' Genma shouted.
The idea of having them fight large groups made the three of them all cuss up a storm as to let Kenji know the physical state they are in and that only served to make him shake his head in response. He watches as the group of clones separate the three younger ninja before he finally verbally responded to their indecent whining.
''You think the enemy is gonna let you catch your breath when you're tired and outnumbered? No they aren't so deal with it cause this is preparing you for warfare.'' Kenji said with authority, ''War isn't a game so take this training as a sneak peek of what's to come. What are you gonna do if your arms are sore? Whine about it to the Shinsengumi like, owwww my arms are sore please mister samurai don't hurt me?''
The mob of Kenjis barreled toward the younger Jonin and despite the performance they had working as a team against the mob they did everything they physically can to perform just as well and at first it took some getting used to fighting alone. Naruto could easily use the Hiraishin to end the Kenji mob in a split second but he was restricted from using it in case he is unable to perform it but of course the blonde was up to the challenge. Kurotsuchi had no restrictions placed on her as well as Genma so they were able to utilize whatever jutsu they needed to beat the mob and if they perform to Kenji's standards they will be restricted to using only melee weapons and their hands to prepare for combat against the samurai that plague the Shinsengumi's ranks.
''When you guys have destroyed half the clones in your respective groups I want you to finish off the rest with melee weapons and your hands.'' Kenji instructed.
Naruto stood his ground as he watched a line of Kenjis come at him and taking out some kunai he hurls the tools at the clones only for them to effortlessly swat the projectiles away with their swords. Knowing they would do that the blonde then whips up a rasenshuriken and hurls it at the clones destroying them only for another twenty to start charging toward him. Kurotsuchi and Genma would follow suit and soon they were finishing off the rest of their respective groups with their katana and having recently taught himself how to use a wind sword jutsu Genma and Kurotsuchi made short of the clones and soon the three of them finally exterminated their respective mobs leaving only the three of them in the field. However, just as they were about to celebrate Kenji brings out another hundred clones and this served to annoy the team much further.
''Fuck!'' yelled all three of them.
Kenji couldn't stifle a laugh from escaping his lips.
''Remember what I said the enemy isn't gonna let you catch your breath. You cry you die, you laugh you die. You wanna piss you better piss in your pants, you wanna shit you better shit in your pants. If you do anything other than fight back you will die.''
Even though he was being extremely tough with them he knows that if he didn't do any training let alone training of this intensity they wouldn't be ready at all for the open battlefield. Since the founding of the great villages survival rates on even A or S ranked missions were much higher than fighting wars so it was very necessary to put the three through this training because Kami forbid they die under his command. What would Mako do to or say if that happened? Kenji was certainly wasn't going to let that happen either because he wouldn't be able to live with the guilt much like how he blamed himself for Shisui's death.
"I know this training is hard but you three really need this. I need you guys to perform for me out there." Kenji thought with a soft smile.
-Kage Summit Room-
It was another day for the five Kage in preparing their respective militaries for war and although the Kage summit was supposed to end with their last meeting they took every opportunity they can to get together for eight hours a day to discuss and finalize their war plans. After receiving word that the minor villages will join the fight it was time for them to review with one another the details in regards to the current strength of their militaries.
''So when it comes to current shinobi strength I have about 15,000 active shinobi, 5,000 reserve and 1,000 ANBU back home, Kumo has 10,000 shinobi, 4,000 reserve and 950 ANBU, Iwa has 15,000 shinobi with 3,500 reserve and 500 ANBU. Kirigakure has 12,000 shinobi and 2,000 reserve with 500 hunter-nins and finally Suna has 10,000 shinobi with 1,000 reserve and 500 ANBU black ops. In addition Amegakure has 5,000, Hoshigakure has 900 ninjas, Yugakure has over 1,000 military police, Taki has 1,000, Oto has 3,500 and Kusa has 4,000 active duty shinobi and all the minor villages have no reserves. That brings our combined numbers down a bit but our reservists and Yu police can cover for them.'' Mako explained as she read over a piece of paper with the total numbers in the alliance, ''So when combining the number of active shinobi with the reserve and ANBU plus the 500 supply boats Yumi will lend to us plus 100 guardian ninja monks from each great village we have a grand total of 96,850 ready for battle.''
''Phenomenal amount of ninja available for war and the great villages all have the monetary expenses to fund it as well. I wonder what that Shishio has to answer this. I doubt he can raise a military force large enough to pose a challenge. This is a war we will wind handedly.'' Onoki said.
''I wouldn't be too confident with that Onoki-san, remember this deranged man is a well trained samurai and even his troops that interrupted us during our first meeting were a pain to deal with. I don't think we should have any reason to believe we automatically have an advantage against him in this fight.'' the Raikage interjected.
''I agree with the Raikage on this one. Look at what happened when Iwa attacked Konoha during the last war. You outnumbered Konoha forces at the border by a huge margin and yet Minato Namikaze stopped your invasion before you can blink.'' Haku said with a slight giggle.
Onoki rolled his eyes at the Mizukage's comment and waved it off.
''I let him win.'' he joked.
Rasa and Mako couldn't help but share laughs at the lightheartedness of the conversation despite the serious business they were conducting as they really needed some comic relief and Rasa decided to add his own joke.
''Say, the same thing happened to me and my village when we tried to take over port towns that bordered Tea country and Konoha. We got beat too that I ended up suing for peace with Konoha.'' said the Kazekage.
The Kage would continue to joke with each other for a few more minutes before they finally got back on topic.
"We really need to be prepared for every and anything with that man. Close combat against samurai is suicidal since they are more well versed in using bladed weapons than us. Yes there are very few ninja who are amazing sword fighters but what good is that against an army of samurai?" Mako said, "We already have an advantage with all of the villages using elemental attacks and sure it is a big one but getting close enough for a sword is going to get many killed. My own bodyguard is an amazing kenjutsu specialist and Kiri has the seven swordsmen but I don't think that will help. If we rely too much on using our elemental advantage Shishio might figure something that can completely negate our advantage."
Mako had the attention of the other Kage and they began to realize how right she was. Being trained by a Sannin when he became a ninja no doubt gave him the sharp eyes and analytical skills as one so they looked to the Uchiha woman on what they should do.
"I agree with you Lady Hokage." Raikage A said with a nod.
"So what do you propose we do?" Haku questioned.
"Yes, anything you have in mind?" Rasa asked.
"Knowing you you would most definitely come up with a plan." said Onoki.
Mako took a drink from one of her water bottles and after taking in a breath from having to drink water she looked at the other Kage intently.
"It's a huge risk in two ways for us. One, fighting them in close quarters no doubt puts us at a disadvantage so I believe our best approach would be to use elemental jutsus when necessary because if our forces use something like an Earth Flow Spear or Fireball jutsu there's an unavoidable chance to cause collateral damage and cause friendly KIA. Second, relying too much on elemental jutsu will allow them to find a way around it. My suggestion is for us to fight them with a mix of melee and elemental jutsu to balance it out and keep them guessing. It'll help prevent them from countering jutsu and for our forces to gain a lot of experience in fighting with bladed weapons. A shinobi not only should see through deception, but we must overcome and adapt to any situation that we deal with." Mako explained.
Onoki, A, Rasa and Haku turned to look at each other and each of them knew that they all thought that Mako's suggestion made the most sense. They were mostly focused on having their ninja use their elemental advantage to defeat the Shinsengumi but what was taught to academy students in all the ninja villages was to never rely on one method of attack because if your enemy sees this they will be the one with an advantage in the long run. They agreed right there that the best strategy would be to switch between their elemental jutsus and melee combat to keep a level of unpredictability against the Shinsengumi to keep them guessing what they were planning. That and they discussed that the combat division of their ANBU and hunter nin shall utilize unconventional warfare against the enemy. Since by tradition they knew the samurai fought battles with each other more so than they did in all the previous three wars it was a possibility that's the approach to combat they will use against them.
"Minato's problem solving skills really did rub off on you Lady Hokage. There's no doubt if Minato was around he'd be very proud of you becoming Hokage." Onoki complimented.
"That's what happens when you have a ninja of such skill and power tutor you. That man could counter any jutsu he sees once." Mako added.
"So its settled on that matter then. Should we form divisions with our forces so they each can specialize in a particular field?" Haku asked.
"That sounds like a very splendid idea but if I recall we did agree to have mixed units for battle to better prepare our forces for any given situation." Rasa interjected.
"If we go this route whenever it comes to battles or missions we have a squad that specializes in one role accompany another. That way we could potentially save time on cross training everyone and focus our time on planning missions and battle strategies against the enemy." A suggested.
Mako gave the Raikage a nod to his idea since it did make a lot of sense. The shinobi from each of their respective villages still detest each other, more so when it comes to Kumo to Suna, Kiri to Iwa and of course, Iwa to Konoha.
"I agree with the Raikage so that will be the plan then. Why waste time cross training our ninja with each other when we can put them all in one squad. That way we cannot only keep from wasting time cross training the active shinobi we can put more emphasis in cross training the reserve ninja to prepare them for combat should the need arise." Mako added.
The Hokage then looked at the clock on the wall and saw that it was just about time for lunch and before they could conclude their final sessions she had one more thing to bring up.
"Weren't the leaders of the other villages and Yumi supposed to arrive late in the afternoon?"
"Yes, I say we take a one hour lunch break before meeting them back here. What do you guys say? It will be on me since I am hosting." said A.
The other Kage agreed and A had several of his ninja bring him and the other Kage lunch. After eating their lunch they will go over their final plans once more before finalizing it and after concluding the final segment of their meeting they will begin preparations for their first set of missions against the Shinsengumi. These missions would involve multiple raids against bases and destroying resources and weapons depots whose locations were given to them by the captured Shinsengumi lieutenant Sawagejo Cho after his interrogation at the hands of Anko Mitarashi and Ibiki Morino.
-Kumo Training Field, 2 hours later-
It was intense, such intense training that Naruto, Kurotsuchi and Genma were now on the verge of passing out from complete exhaustion. When they reached Jonin they thought Mako's training regimen would come to a halt and though they wondered how the Uchiha woman can have such a tough and a draining training program for them what Kenji did with them since dawn to now answered their question. She got it from him and they prayed to Kami that it would soon come to an end and their prayers were answered. If the three had to count how many Kenji clones they've "killed" it had to be in the thousands since they trained non stop with only fifteen to twenty minute breaks.
Hell they didn't even get to eat lunch.
Currently they were laying in the floor breathing heavily from the training since they were now done and the reason? It wasn't because Kenji saw that they were tired it was because he was starting to get very low on chakra after having to summon so many shadow clones to battle them and for any ninja using too much chakra was just as physically exhausting as training your body physically.
"Consider yourselves lucky because if I had unlimited chakra I would keep going until you all died." Kenji chuckled.
Even though he wasn't training himself like the three were he showed visible signs of exertion since he was feeling sore and a little light headed plus the slight sweat was further proof too.
"Can..can we...finally...get something...to...eat?" Naruto got out between breaths
"Y-yeah...I..I'm pooped." Kurotsuchi said.
"Please tell me we're done..." Genma added.
"Man I definitely would pass out if I went on for another hour. What am I a chakra machine? I have my limits." Kenji thought to himself before noticing what Naruto said, "Sure you guys come on time to eat."
Kenji took off his trench coat and reached for a scroll in the interior pocket and unrolls it. He places his hand on the seal and flowing chakra into his palm it activates the seal and in a puff of smoke four shinobi ration packs appeared. He holds two in each of his hands to give three to the others but he noticed the look on their faces were less than thrilled.
"What?" he asked in confusion.
"I thought we were gonna eat real food!" Naruto exclaimed in disappointment.
Kenjj had to shake his head and he laughed as he walked over to the other three.
"Little man do I gotta remind you that this is war? One thing you have to remember is since we'll be out on missions more and therefore out in the field we're gonna be eating shinobi rations more. Can't really eat real meals if we're in the middle of nowhere." Kenji explained as he hands a ration pack to each of them.
Naruto, Kurotsuchi and Genma haven't had shinobi field rations before but they knew about them from Mako. It was the standardized meal shinobi get when they are away from any type of dining facility so this was new to them. They also knew that each ration had it's own meal in it like ramen, tempura and even natto. They looked at the front of their rations and saw what meal they got.
For Genma he got some natto, green tea and some candy. Kurotsuchi got a vegetarian burger with a fruit cup and some apple juice while Naruto had a teriyaki beef patty with some frog shaped cake thing and Kenji had a meat eater's meal with some punch as well as a shinobi bar.
The older man noticed the grossed out look on their faces and decided to elaborate a bit.
"Some of them may look like shit but trust me when I say they actually aren't bad." he said as he took a bite of his meal, "They aren't bad but they do cause unpleasant things to happen to your body and it's the only downside to eating these rations."
They all took a bite of their ready meals before Naruto asked what the older Jonin meant by the unpleasant thing the ratios cause. It couldn't be that bad right?
"What do you mean unpleasant? I mean it is feeding you right? Giving you the calories for the day." said the blonde.
Yeah I don't think it can be that bad. These feed you and an unfed ninja is a dead ninja." Kurotsuchi seconded.
"Do these not fill you up senpai? I can feel it filling up my stomach just like a normal meal." Genma added.
Kenji motioned for them to simply finish their meals and after they did he decided to answer Naruto's question and he waited until they finished just to see their reaction because he thought it would be hysterical.
"Alright since you're done eating them I'll tell you but I'm not sure if you're ready for it. It might terrify the hell out of you." Kenji chuckled.
"Oh come on just tell us already! We can handle anything you tell us." Naruto said getting nods of agreement from Kurotsuchi and Genma.
Kenji smiled and merely shook his head at how eager they were to know the only downside to eating field rations. If they wanted to know so be it.
"It makes you constipated.'' he said with a deadpan expression.
Naruto, Kurotsuchi and Genma's eyes all went wide eyed at what he just said and they were hoping they heard it correctly.
"Did you just say constipated?" they all asked in unison.
"Oh yeah, they are meals that refuse to exit." Kenji said.
The three younger Jonin all turned to look at each other and they all shivered at the thought of being constipated on the battlefield.
"Alright well I guess I'll try to shit this out before it fucks me up." Genma quipped.
"Damn I bet that's what giving birth feels like." Kurotsuchi thought in terror.
"I have to shit! It's the most basic bodily function so I need it! I'll never eat another field ration again!" Naruto shouted in shock.
Kenji just couldn't hold it in any longer and bursts out laughing at their reactions. He said he was going to mess with their heads as war does that to those fighting it and mess with their heads he did.
"Relax you guys I'm only kidding! You all only had one meal so it's not gonna do anything to you. If you eat a diet of only the rations then you're gonna have fun time in the bathroom." Kenji laughed.
The three all sighed in relief because they feared that eating just one meal was enough to cause them to spend hours in the bathroom trying to get the food to exit. Since they were going to war they knew that if they were on the front lines they wouldn't really have any access to real food so they decided that they would pray to Hashirama Senju that they will at least not have to eat these regularly. Just the thought of sitting on a toilet suffering from blockages was a fate worst than death.
"I'm freaking glad." Naruto sighed.
"Before you can be glad I need to remind you that since we'll be out in the field this is pretty much what we're gonna be eating unless you can survive off the land." Kenji added, "I don't know if Mako ever mentioned this but when we were in the academy it was when the last war started and since it wasn't peace time even before that survival in the wilderness was a part of the curriculum. After the last war ended they removed it from the academy as everyone thought that would be the last great war to be fought so I'll assume that they did not teach any of that to you guys when you were academy students huh."
Naruto, Kurotsuchi and Genma all shook their heads no.
"I see, well don't worry then guys we'll rest a bit, maybe an hour or two before I give you some tips and last minute training on wilderness survival because that's a huge part of wars. I do know that ANBU selection and training is real anal on that stuff."
Speaking of ANBU the three of them have always been curious on how the process to joining them goes so Genma would be the one to ask about it.
"Say senpai how would someone get into the ANBU? Do they just sign up and enroll like you do at the academy?"
"Nope not even close. It might come as a surprise but ANBU selection is called selection for a reason. I was never in the ANBU but what I do know is that the Hokage has to recommend you for selection and training to the current ANBU captain and they take a group of selected individuals. They do some screening and some form of training to weed out the ones who can't make it. It's kinda like refresher courses and to test if the Chunin or Jonin have retained their knowledge and skills as well as their physical abilities and after that those who fail the assessment are dropped. After that those who pass selection will undergo some extremely rigorous and demanding physical, mental and psychological training and Mako has told me that if for example there is a group of one-hundred ANBU candidates only three or four of those selected actually pass training. Mako has told me that they really are strict and the psychological training was the hardest part for her since she is amazing physically. She graduated the ANBU training course with flying colors and performed the best out of all the candidates up to that point."
Naruto, Kurotsuchi and Genma were at awe over their sensei's accomplishment in making through ANBU training. They knew it took a lot of mental strength to make it through the training but they didn't expect Mako to graduate from her class with flying colors since ANBU had a dropout rate of over ninety-five percent.
"By the way she was in a class of over two-hundred and she was the only one to make it for the spring selections the year she did it." Kenji added with a chuckle.
This caught the three off guard.
"Woah wait!" Naruto exclaimed.
"No way you're kidding!" Kurotsuchi shouted in disbelief.
"That's freaking crazy you're lying!" shouted Genma.
Kenji shook his head.
"No I'm not lying you can ask her yourself. She even has the second highest academy entrance exam scores right behind your dad Naruto."
''Really?!'' asked a shocked Naruto.
''Yessir Minato-sensei has the highest exam scores in the village's history.'' Kenji said with a nod.
Naruto's eyes widened and he made a mental note to ask his Hokage later but for now having some lunch and a bit more down time before the war starts was enough for him and his teammates. So far during Kenji's training regimen they've gotten a lot of good practice in fighting against large numbers that came with the battles they'll soon be fighting in and from what Kenji mentioned before that he will train them to survive in the wilderness since it was removed from the academy's curriculum soon after the last war ended.
''Alright you guys I think I want to try and do one more thing before we call it a day. Since you weren't trained in survival I think we'll head out into the woods over there and no I won't put you through some intense physical exertion like I did the past few hours. Just think of it as a class but in the woods. I'll teach you all basic hunting skills as well as give you knowledge on what to eat and what not to eat because I don't think any of you want to eat a plant that will kill you. Mako told me she never trained you in this and it's not that she has no knowledge or didn't want to. In ANBU training the final week of it before you earn the right to be in the black ops is surviving in the wilderness with just the clothes on your back for a whole week. She told me that she wanted to put more focus on training you on your elements and she could easily train you to survive in the wild but I'll take charge of that.'' said the man.
The three younger Jonin nodded in understanding and it did make sense since Mako specialized in training them in regards to sword fighting and usage of any elemental jutsu. To them Kenji seemed to be the one who specialized in physical training and exerting one's self to the point of chakra depletion.
''How good is Mako-senpai at surviving in the wilderness?'' Naruto questioned out of curiosity.
''If you're asking to compare me and her she and I would be tied. Though she is more mentally hardened from her ANBU training so I'd hate to say it but she'd destroy me in the long run.'' Kenji chuckled before looking at his pocket watch, ''Alright guys I think it's time to get started. We'll probably do this until five so that gives us over two and a half hours of survival training.''
After cleaning up their trash Kenji would then take the team to the nearby woods to start training them on Kumo's fauna and other basic survival techniques such as building a fire if you do not have a fire affinity, hunting of wild animals and building shelters without using earth release. In case the war takes them to the other great nations he'll also fill them in on the wildlife and fauna of those nations as well as fishing without fishing poles if they get deployed to Kiri and its surrounding waters. Oh and Kenji could probably take the chance to play pranks on them with his water release just for the laughs.
-Konoha Prison-
Sawagejo Cho, the Shinsengumi lieutenant that was captured by Mako and her team was seen sitting on the bed in his cell whilst staring at the wall. For the past several weeks he had just been sitting there staring at the wall and despite having a horrible time being locked up in this cell he still had a sense of sadistic joy coursing through his veins. When he was interrogated by Ibiki Morino and Anko Mitarashi he held back on giving information about where the Shinsengumi's main bases and areas of operation were within the great nations but he eventually gave in and told them where their bases were. Not only was the joy coursing through his veins but he has been sporting an evil grin on his face because what Anko and Ibiki didn't know was that he appeared very convincing when giving them information on the organization he had them right where he wanted them. Anko and Ibiki didn't know that once they gave this information to Tsunade before the suicide bomber struck they were now doomed into a trap that will inflict massive casualties on the five villages and he was pleased with the amount of bloodshed that will happen. There was no doubt Konoha would share this information with the other nations.
Getting captured wasn't part of his plan but in the end he was glad since it actually gave him the chance to set up Konoha for failure and this failure that will happen in their first battle with each other will cause the other villages and their respective Kage to distrust Konoha right away which he hopes will cause tension between them giving the Shinsengumi another advantage. As he was relishing in the thought of that he heard the small latch to his cell door open and looked at it. He was so busy thinking of the consequences of Konoha giving wrong information to the other villages he had forgotten that around this time it was dinner and he glared at the face in the open hatch.
''Alright partner what the hell are you gonna feed me this time?'' asked the blonde man.
He then noticed that the Jonin who usually guarded his cell door had a very shocked and blank look on his face and he was initially confused as the Jonin opens the cell and slowly walks in making him even more confused. The way the nameless Jonin was walking up to Cho ever so slowly was kind of creeping out and before he could reprimand the moonlight coming from his window slowly illuminated the ninja and Cho could finally see the massive slash wound on his neck. The Jonin came to a stop and the massive bloodloss from having his carotid and jugular veins sliced open became too much and he finally collapsed face first onto the ground as he was gurgling.
Now Cho himself much like most of the Shinsengumi and Shishio himself despised shinobi even though he was one himself from Iwa as a respected sword maker but the sight before only left him a bit creeped out and he notices a figure stepping to his cell as the light emanating from the hallway was blocked by a form. Looking up he spots Shishio's right hand man, Shisui Uchiha standing before him with his mask on. He knew Shisui's identity but out of respect and mostly fear for the powerful Uchiha he never referred to him by name.
''Ah shit, so this is your doing partner? You come to liberate me or sumthin?'' Cho asked sarcastically.
Shisui took off his mask and only shook his head at the Iwa man.
''You're even lucky I came to get you. So did you give Ibiki and Anko the 'information' regarding where our bases supposedly are?'' Shisui asked.
''Yeah I also told that lunky bastard and that snake bitch that Lord Shishio would like to have a pitch battle as the first engagement between us and the villages in Kumo. That is the perfect chance for that Kabuto feller to use that weapon he has been developin' to cause the ninja to lose their elemental advantage for a short time.'' Cho explained as he got up from his bed.
Cho then notice Shisui hand him a few blades and he almost shout in joy at seeing his babies again. The Hakujin-no-Tachi whip sword and the Renbato hook swords he took off one of Kiri's swordsmen he killed in the last war.
''I see you brought me my babies back partner.'' Cho said as he takes his swords, ''Wait how the fuck did you even get into the village? It's heavily guarded after the bombing."
''They called me the Teleporter for a reason because I am almost as fast as Minato-sensei. Anyway, let's get going Lord Shishio is planning the first battle with the villages I think you joining the fight after we take away their elemental advantage will show them how dangerous it is to fight Shinsengumi foot soldiers up close. I'll explain along the way.'' Shisui said before putting his mask back on.
The Uchiha places a hand on Cho's shoulder and then uses his famed version of the body flicker technique and it almost looked like he used the Hiraishin with the speed of his teleportation and the two disappeared from the cell.
Thirty minutes later another nameless Jonin would walk toward Cho's cell after his colleague went to check on the man and he was alerted when he saw the door wide open. Raising his eyebrow he rushes into the cell and spots his dead colleague and screamed in shock upon seeing his corpse in a pool of his own blood .The Jonin then sounds the alarm and several seconds later a village wide alarm was heard as various shinobi and ANBU were scrambling and searching around the village to try and find Cho but little did they know they weren't going to find the man at all as he was already countries away.
