Chapter 48: Departure To The Front Lines
-Kumogakure no Sato-
It was time, after almost two weeks of constant discussion during the Kage summit of all of the five great villages they and their allies have finally completed their preparations for the upcoming war with the extremist organization the Shingensumi which was to officially begin in just a few short moments. In the massive field in the southern part of Kumo there stood over a hundreds and hundreds of shinobi from each village standing in a large square formation. Overlooking the formation of shinobi were the five Kage alongside the village leaders from Ame, Hoshi, Taki, Kusa and Oto looking over their shinobi proudly. In addition to the shinobi from every known village there stood a formation of several hundred police from Yugakure who had agreed to lend them to assist the Allied Shinobi Forces in keeping their supply routes open, provide security at their outposts and monitor POWs should they capture Shinsengumi soldiers.
''Finally, our preparations have been completed. If I must have a saying in this it is that I've never seen such a finer battle formation since I've been a shinobi.'' A the Raikage said proudly.
''This is only a quarter of our full military power but it makes sense since we have left reserves back in our villages for defense and should the need for them to come to the front line arise.'' Rasa said.
''I'm sure it will, all the shinobi we have here are only parts of their respective divisions but there's no doubt we will need to rotate in reserves with those going to the front lines.'' Haku said.
''Look at us, united under one banner against a common enemy. What better reason can we get that could unite us? None, because when you have a man hell bent on proving a dangerous agenda that threatens all five villages we're going to combine our might and defeat him. That deranged and delusional man has no idea what he's up against.'' Onoki said confidently.
As the other four Kage talked among themselves Mako was looking down on their battle formation with the utmost pride. When she was growing up tensions between her village, Kiri, Suna and Kumo were fairly neutral or good and for Iwa and Konoha well, they still hated each other with the highest amount of animosity felt since shinobi came to prevalence and now to see shinobi from all the great villages and the smaller ones standing before her and her fellow Kage made her smile. It was the achievement of the century.
Konan, a former member of the Akatsuki and current leader of Amegakure noticed the proud look the Hokage had on her face.
''What's gotten you so happy Lady Hokage?'' The blue-haired woman asked curiously.
''It's just I was always optimistic about all great villages uniting to combat a mutual foe and the fact that the minor villages have joined our alliance despite setbacks from the previous wars shows how much relations have or will improve.'' The Hokage replied.
Konan knew the Hokage was right because when she was a child during the second war Ame and Konoha hated each other severely that shinobi from both villages would constantly engage each other in minor fights at the border despite hostilities having already ended but when she became the leader of her village she made sure that her shinobi and Konoha would cooperate and that she did ensure it happened even during the five years Naruto was gone.
''I'm sorry.'' Konan said apologetically.
''For what?'' Mako asked incredulously.
''I don't know if you figured it out yet but I was there, during the Akatsuki's attack on your village. I myself did not want to become involved but Shishio had us do it or we all would've faced the possibility of death. That's why we attacked your village, to test and see if it has the power to repel an invasion from S-ranked shinobi and see if Konoha has a place in his twisted world. I figured out that Obito was related to you in some way and him saying that we want the tailed-beasts for our use was a lie, we never wanted them at all. Such pointless deaths could've been avoided if the other members didn't believe Shishio's lies, I personally would've done it but I would've been killed by the man. We were only thinking for ourselves.'' Konan explained, regret present in her voice, ''Obito always spoke highly of you and still loved you very much. I saw the animosity you had for him during your fight but that cold and evil act he put on was just a facade so Shishio did not threaten the Uchiha clan and the village.''
Mako's face softened at the older woman's words and despite having battled her brother who supposedly took control of the Akatsuki she held no resentment or hatred toward Ame's leader. Did she really mean that? Did Obito still love and cared for her? He only went rogue just to save the village and their clan from Shishio's wrath?
''Don't worry about it Lady Konan, you revealing why Akatsuki was involved with Shishio all makes sense because a man with the capacity to cause a world catastrophe would be quite impossible to say no to. Any individual fearing for their life or loved ones would aid that man only to be cast aside once your purpose has been fulfilled. You only did it for best interests of your group and that's what one thing a good leader does, put the well being of their people before their own.''
Konan stared at the Hokage with wide eyes because she had never expected to be forgiven so easily by the leader of Konoha especially for attacking the village under Shishio's command with the sole purpose to testing Konoha's true military might and to see if the Akatsuki had what it takes to have a place in his world.
''I can see and understand one of the many reasons why you were chosen to be the Hokage, you really do forgive enemies even if they caused you great pain.''
''You were never my enemy to begin with Konan-san, the real enemy was and always will be that foolish man.''
Ryuzetsu, the leader of Kusagakure couldn't help but overhear the conversation between Mako and Konan and decided to chip in.
''For such a long time my village had been threatened by Iwa and was the sight of many battles in all the previous wars and much like the older generation of Konoha we hated Iwa for a very long time. I however, do not harbor that hatred toward the Stone because the actions of one Tsuchikage do not reflect on the actions of his individual shinobi. My mother and father died in the last war at the hands of Iwa shinobi but I do not resent them because the threat of a greater enemy allows us to settle our differences and unite. If we can work together to finally win world peace for real then I'm up for it even if it means I have to work with shinobi who killed and oppressed my people for years.''
Onoki felt the guilt coursing through his body so he turned to look at the Kusa leader with an apologetic look in his eyes.
''If I can go back in time and take back what I did to your village I would Ryuzetsu. I realized how much of a fool I was to let my emotions cloud my judgement against every other village, even some shinobi questioned my actions and reign as Tsuchikage so this is the best way I can make amends for all I've done by aligning with the other four villages. I know it is not much but it is a start.''
Hokuto, the leader of Hoshigakure placed a comforting hand on the Tsuchikage's shoulder.
''Lord Tsuchikage, the other Kage have already told you they forgive you for your past actions so please do not dwell on it because it's all in the past and now you can prove to the rest of us how much you have changed since then. You know without you or Iwa's strength we won't prevail in this fight because despite being defeated in all three wars, Iwa shinobi are strong in their own right with how well you all use Earth jutsu.''
''The woman is right Lord Onoki just let the past go because it's time to move on and we will be here with you. Seriously, look at how much I hated Minato before I came to respect him for his strength.'' The Raikage said sympathetically.
Even so, Onoki knew that despite the other villages having forgiven him for the atrocities he committed against them for all those years he still and always will be regretful and feel bad about those actions. ''I know A-sama, but still, I feel that aligning with everyone else isn't enough to atone for my past sins. If you all say so otherwise then it is what it is if I am forgiven, I just really want to take all those things I've done back is all I am saying.''
''Relax Tsuchikage-sama, everything is fine now there's no need to dwell on the past, today is a gift which is why they call it the present.'' Mako said easing the Tsuchikage's nerves with her calm voice.
''Yes, do not think of the past Lord Tsuchikage.'' Orochimaru added.
Taki's leader Shibuki who was holding a clipboard with a paper on it handed it to Mako.
''Now that we've all made amends I think it would be proper for us to make final checks on each division and their commanders to make sure everything is correct. Would you like to do the honors Lady Hokage?''
Mako takes the clipboard from Shibuki and began to look over it.
''Yes, the first division specializes in kenjutsu as well as short and mid-range combat and their commanders are Kenji Kasugano, Kakashi Hatake and Asuma Sarutobi. The second division contains puppet users and long range fighters that is led by Lady Chiyo. The third division is exclusively long range with Tayuya and Temari Sabaku as its commanders. Fourth division focuses on infiltration and shock tactics with Samui and Yugito Nii leading it. For the fifth division, they are comprised of genjutsu experts led by Kurenai Yuhi and Kin Tsuchi. Sixth division is made exclusively for taijutsu specialists and Konoha's very own Might Guy is its commander and a division consisting solely of ANBU from all villages led by my friend Yugao Uzuki and some of their roles are counter-insurgency, unconventional warfare, direct action and raids. Rounding up our military is the Intelligence Unit, Rescue and Search and Destroy headed by the Inuzuka, Hyuga and Aburame clanheads. The Medical Corps led by Konoha's finest medical kunoichi Lady Tsunade, Rin Nohara and Shizune Kato. Finally, the Torture Interrogation Unit led by Ibiki Morino and Anko Mitarashi for any POWs.''
The other Kage and village leaders nodded as they were satisfied with the current standings of their military force and they looked down on the shinobi proudly and could hear them all conversing with one another. However, Mako's keen eye caught something out of the ordinary and swore she saw some Iwa shinobi walk up to some of her own and Kenji was one of them.
''Even with our Kage being on good terms now there's no way I'll ever work with you Konoha trash, you're all murdering scum who deserve to be wiped out by the Shinsengumi.'' An older Iwa Jonin spat at Kenji who only stares him down.
''Are you really gonna start now? Do you realize that the Shinsengumi wants to fight all the villages and that means you included by the way and if your village didn't join the others we won't stand a chance because how are we going to win without uniting against someone who hates us all? You wanna know something too? I lost my parents to Iwa shinobi during the last war and I don't harbor any hatred towards your people or village because it was my fault they died so I hate myself for that not you guys. I myself am willing to put the past aside and work with you guys.'' Kenji said.
''Good, your parents deserved to die for picking a fight with superior shinobi.'' The Iwa shinobi spat condescendingly before throwing a punch at the Konoha man.
Kenji only catches the fist and uses his free hand to shove the man away as if he was nothing and that served to only anger him.
''Oh you think you're so good? Watch this then.''
The Iwa Jonin then performed a series of hand seals before Kenji lunged forward and grabbed the man's hands and twisted them enough to hurt him but not break them.
''I suggest changing your attitude because I don't want to die from you being an idiot. So freaking cut that crap out.''
Kenji then shoves the man away once more and he staggers a bit before his colleagues caught him.
Elsewhere we see various shinobi from the five great village beginning to argue among each other, most of them being veterans from the last war who still hated each other and it wasn't no surprise that the arguing involved every other great village but Konoha since they were the most tolerant of the great villages. The Yugakure military police, Kusa, Ame, Taki, Oto and Hoshi shinobi could only watch the arguing and were unable to do anything due to being outnumbered and they were afraid of retaliation if they tried to defuse the situation themselves.
''You Kiri shinobi are nothing but bloodthirsty scoundrel!'' Shouted a Suna Jonin.
''Says the man with a Kazekage who cowered in fear of the Yellow Flash! That man was enough to make your Kage call peace between Suna and Konoha.'' retorted a Kiri Chunin.
''Fuck you and your trash village you Kumo piece of shit!" a Suna shinobi shouted angrily.
''Sunagakure is the weakest of the five villages and deserves to be wiped off the map! The statistics prove it too, your military is trash and laughable." A random Kumo Chunin spat.
''At least my Kazekage was not defeated multiple times by the Yellow Flash like your Raikage!"
''Want to go at it again? Iwa crushed Kiri during the first war and we can do it again!"
Feeling that this would seriously escalate into a large rumble Naruto took out a kunai threw it upward toward Mako and when the blade came within Mako's reach the blonde used his father's hiraishin to appear right beside her and catches the blade.
''What is it Naruto?'' Mako questioned.
''Senpai could you please get everyone's attention? They're being too stubborn and it's too loud for me to yell at them. I got something to say to these guys that's gonna shut them up.'' Answered the blonde.
Nodding, the Hokage performed a few hand seals and took in a breath and blew a powerful Majestic Destroyer Flame jutsu and the intense heat and bright flames was enough to get the bickering shinobi to stop screaming at each other and look up at the source of the fire release. An unnamed Iwa Jonin immediately knew that a Konoha shinobi was responsible for the jutsu and felt compelled to fight whoever did it.
''Alright! Who's the Konoha trash that wants to get their ass kicked?''
''That Konoha trash would be me.'' Mako said sternly.
The Iwa man felt fear course through his body as he realized he had insulted the Hokage and he was not let off the hook as Onoki stepped in to defend the the Uchiha woman.
''You there! Cease your aggression toward the Konoha shinobi or else I will punish you myself! And watch your mouth do not EVER speak to the Hokage like that!" Onoki growled.
''Urm. Yes Lord Tsuchikage, my deepest apologies Lady Hokage.'' The Iwa Jonin said apologetically while bowing in respect for both Kages.
''You're an idiot insulting the Hokage, typical of Iwa to talk without thinking.'' a Kiri Chunin said under her breath.
Mako and Onoki nod to each other before the Hokage returned her gaze to Naruto.
''Well I've gotten their attention like you asked Naruto.''
Naruto closed his eyes and knew that all eyes were on him now thanks to his Hokage and he felt the tension from the shinobi from the villages of Kumo, Kiri and Iwa especially but he knew he had to set them straight as he was the son of their most hated enemy. Standing tall over the formation he eyed them all, giving special attention to the Iwa formation before looking at the Kiri formation, then Suna, then Kiri, then Konoha and below he saw Genma, Kenji and Kurotsuchi clad in a Konoha version of her uniform looking up at him. As soon as he joined the Kage and other village heads above he felt the instant tension emanating from the Iwa shinobi but he was unsure if they saw the similarities between him and his father.
He cleared his throat and spoke.
''It's been over nearly one hundred years since all the great villages were founded by the original Kage and for those a hundred years, us shinobi have fought, wounded killed, and came to hate each other for one simple reason, because we're all different. Three times, three wars have been waged for the best interests of our villages or to solve territorial disputes but we really fought because we couldn't settle our differences whether it's the way we look or our cultures. Most of the shinobi in each village, veterans from the last war know of a man who brought about Konoha's victory in the war. His name was Minato Namikaze, known among the other four villages as Konoha's Yellow Flash.'' Naruto looks at the Iwa formation, ''To all the shinobi from Iwa take a good look at me and tell me what you see.''
The Iwa shinobi did what the blonde had asked them to do and most of them immediately took notice of his blonde hair and some had caught a glimpse of him as he instantly teleported straight to where the village leaders were and some knew what jutsu that was and put the pieces together on the spot.
''It can't be, you look so much like the Yellow Flash.'' one of the older Iwa shinobi thought.
''No way, that man had a son?'' thought another Iwa ninja.
The shinobi in the Iwa formation began to talk among themselves as they began to realize that the young man who was speaking before them was none other than the son of their most hated enemy.
''I'm sure the veterans in the Iwa formation can tell by now that I look eerily similar to someone you may have seen in the last war. For those who do not know, I am Naruto Uzumaki, son of the greatest adversary Iwa had ever come to face. Minato Namikaze, also known among foreign shinobi as the Yellow Flash.'' Naruto declared.
The foreign shinobi especially the Iwa formation began to talk among themselves as they all saw that he indeed was a mirror image of Minato and some felt shocked to know that he had a son while some were feeling the old feelings of hatred boil within them. Mako and the other village leaders felt the tension build up and stepping up Onoki knew his shinobi needed to be stopped from doing something stupid that could permanently ruin the alliance.
''For any of my shinobi who feel the need to attack the boy don't even think about it. If you so much as think of harming him you'll have to go through me. The war has ended long ago and right here this young man has the courage to stand before you to speak despite our bitter history with each other. So I want you all to listen to him right now.'' The elderly Kage said authoritatively.
Listening to their Kage the shinobi from the Iwa formation stood their ground and watched the boy intently.
Naruto turned to Onoki and saw that the old fencer was smiling at him. The two nod at each other before Naruto looked back at the shinobi to resume his speech.
''As I've said earlier, my father was Minato Namikaze, the Yellow Flash. In the past Lord Tsuchikage has made my father seem like a murderous man who enjoyed killing Iwa shinobi and from what my girlfriend has told me some of you who fought in the war as kids or teenagers were living in fear that my dad was going to kill all children from Iwa to prevent your village from thriving with a new generation. That is not true, contrary to what some of you believe my father was never the warmonger type. My sensei, Lady Hokage was trained privately by my dad and I believe her when she says that he was a man of peace and despised war above everything else. I know you all resent Konoha for defeating you in the war, but are you really going to hold on mere feelings like that? Please, I ask you not as the son of the Yellow Flash, but as a fellow shinobi to please forget your hatred toward my father and Konoha and lend us your aid in this war. Not only am I willing to ally with a former enemy village, but many shinobi who are veterans from the last war who fought against Iwa want to ally with you as well. How many more children are all of our villages going to send to die in battle? Too many have died in the previous war and I don't ever want that to happen again and I'm sure you all do as well. Everyone feels the same pain when losing something dear. You and I have experienced that pain.''
The Iwa shinobi all thought about the blonde's words and realized that he was right. Not only did Konoha and the other three villages send children off to war, Iwa did as well and they alongside the Leaf suffered the brunt of child casualties in the last war and they all knew they would never ever want to go through that again knowing the other villages went through the same thing as they did. Shinobi from every village be it the major ones or the smaller ones who fought in the last war as children were now in their late 20s and early 30s had lost their parents, sisters, brothers, friends and most importantly, their innocence at such a tender age and despite feeling the animosity toward each other they knew deep down that sending children to die in war must be stopped regardless of where they're from.
As the Iwa shinobi began to discuss among themselves on what to do or say to the blonde shinobi from Kumo and Kiri weren't holding onto to any negative feelings toward Konoha as they were happy their Kage were able to have good relations with the Hokage and the same went for Suna. Naruto knew the Iwa shinobi were having mixed feelings of him standing before them to speak but knew the lingering feelings of negativity was because he is Minato's son.
''Another thing you Iwa shinobi should know is that I am in a relationship with someone from your village and that someone is Lord Tsuchikage's granddaughter Kurotsuchi Kamizuru. Those in Iwa know that she lost her mother in a fight with my father and she has told me many times before that the anger she had over that incident was enough to destroy the world but one person from Konoha took all that hatred away from her and that person is me. Love and friendship is what changed her view of my village and I'm sure if she can turn over a new leaf then I know you all can too. You thought my father was a threat to Iwa? Right now, there is a man whose ideals make him an even greater one than the Yellow Flash and his name is Shishio Makoto and he has an army of samurai and rogue shinobi ready to kill us all. He wants to test all the villages to see if we have the strength to unite against a common foe. Do you think my father can defeat them all on his own? No, despite being the greatest ninja to hail from Konoha he wouldn't be able to do it alone and if the Shinsengumi and Shishio defeat us in this war then the world as we know it is over! If anyone still wants to hate Konoha and my father then I will gladly fight all the other villages to defend his honor and beat you all down to your knees like he did in the last war! From now on, there is no such thing as Konoha, Suna, Kiri, Iwa or Kumo. From now on we are NOT going to be separated by our identities, cultures, and customs anymore! From now on we are no longer enemies. The wars we waged against each other in the past is proof that we as human beings simply cannot understand each other but right now we all will begin to understand each other. From now on there is only one thing that will bind us together and is the reason why the enemy wants to fight us. That reason is...''
Naruto paused his speech and saw that all the shinobi below did not know where he was getting at and seeing their confusion he decided to elaborate hoping just this one word would finally hit the nail on the coffin.
''We are all shinobi.''
Everybody from Iwa, Konoha, Kiri, Suna and Kumo felt a feeling of pride course through their bodies when the blonde spoke that one word. How could they not realize this? Was it the years of pure hatred for one another clouding their judgement so bad they only viewed each other as sub humans and not fellow shinobi? The Iwa Jonin that had tried to pick a fight with Kenji looked at the man with a look of regret in his eyes. The boy was right, the Konoha ninja before him lost his parents to his village and yet he never hated Iwa for it and if he got his parents killed he would feel the same way as Kenji and hate himself.
''From this moment going forward we are all allies now because we've lost people to those extremists and if you don't want to fight alongside me then fine. From now on we are shinobi and I'm not strong enough to protect our way of life on my own! So please everybody I ask you to fight alongside each other instead of against each other! Please everybody lend me your strength for this fight!" Naruto shouted as loud as his lungs allowed him too.
The next thing that happened he didn't expect as everybody below began to cheer wildly for him. He looked at the Iwa formation and he could hear that their cheering was the loudest of them all. He didn't know why, but he felt a lot of happiness inside when he heard some of his comrades below whistling and calling out his name.
''Yes! We will fight alongside you!" An Iwa shinobi called out joyfully.
''Iwa will gladly join you in battle!" One of the older Iwa shinobi shouted.
Kenji, Mako, Kurotsuchi and Genma looked at Naruto proudly as he stood and basked in the positive effect his speech had on the shinobi forces.
''Naruto, you really have a way with words.'' Kurotsuchi thought with pride.
''There he goes using his famed talk no jutsu like the goody two-shoes he is.'' Genma thought with a smile.
''Minato-sensei, Kushina-sensei look at what your son has done, he brought everybody together. I'm proud of you little man.'' Kenji thought with a proud smirk.
Mako had a look of pure pride in her eyes and she swore she was going to burst into tears at her student's compelling speech as she did not expect it to have such an effect on everybody.
''To think it would be you that would officially end the hatred between the villages. Naruto, I'm so glad you're my student.''
Onoki, Haku, A, Raasa, Ryuzetsu, Konan, Orochimaru, Shibuki, and Hokuto looked at Naruto proudly as they were thinking the same thoughts as the Hokage. To think that it would take the son of the famed Yellow Flash to bring unity to the five great nations was an accomplishment indeed.
''That boy, he's so much like his father with desiring unity. How foolish I was for holding on to my hate for Konoha.'' Onoki said to himself.
The Iwa Jonin who tried to fight Kenji walked up to the latter and noticing him from the corner of his eye Kenji turned to look at the man and saw a completely different look on his face.
''Hey, look I'm sorry for the way I acted and for what I said. I never realized that the Shinsengumi were causing this much damage to all of us. Naruto is right, what good would this alliance be if we can't unite as one?'' The man said apologetically.
Kenji didn't even care that this man had tried to attack him earlier, he smiled at the man and held his hand out for a friendly shake.
''Emotions can get the better of us, sometimes we just have to let it all out.'' Said the Jonin.
The Konoha Jonin then sensed someone stepping closer to him and turning around he saw Zabuza approaching him wearing the standard Kiri Jonin vest.
''I knew you were alive Zabuza.'' Kenji said with a smirk.
''Hey, you may have bested me once again but for now let's put the rivalry aside and beat these extremists to the ground.'' Zabuza sneered.
The two men shake hands and they were being observed by Kurotsuchi and Genma who were smiling at the sight. Then, a figure stepped up to the younger Jonin and when they turned around they were greeted by the sight of someone they haven't seen in a long while.
''Sasuke?'' Genma said incredulously.
''What are you doing here?'' Kurotsuchi questioned.
''Hn, I was having secret therapy sessions at the hospital and it looks like my injuries have healed fully and now I can join you guys in battle against the Shinsengumi.'' Said the Uchiha.
''Let me guess, Naruto's speech got to you as well?'' Kurotsuchi asked.
''Not really, it was the thought of the Shinsengumi attacking our village in that bombing. I may be an asshole, well, may have been an asshole before but no one attacks Konoha and gets away with it. I also want to help out oba-chan.'' Sasuke answered.
Team eleven then noticed that his teammates Ino and Sakura weren't present.
''Hey where's Sakura and Ino?'' Genma questioned curiously.
Sasuke only let out a light chuckle at the question.
''Oh those two useless fangirls? Sakura and Ino were both deemed unfit and completely useless by Lady Tsunade that they were stripped of their still Genin rank and let go from being kunoichi. Lady Tsunade also banned them from ever leaving their houses so they don't contaminate the rest of us with their uselessness while I was allowed to train myself to get better and help out with the fight. It was also thanks to Mako oba-chan's permission as well I can become a better person.''
Kurotsuchi and Genma laughed at that statement and they just had to agree with what Tsunade did. Sasuke wasn't a bad ninja himself but his arrogance is what got to him when they were growing up and they were glad to see Mako had given her nephew a second chance and they all had taken a liking to the new and improved Sasuke.
''So I take it you're a Jonin too now?'' Genma asked.
''Nah I'm just a Tokubetsu Jonin for now. Mako oba-chan said if I perform well I'll get that promotion.'' replied the Uchiha, ''I'd also like to say sorry guys for how I was and I hope you don't look down on me because of that. Let's fight and win this war.''
Sasuke then shook hands with the members of team eleven and heard Naruto begin to speak once more getting everyone's attention and all the shinobi looked up to see him standing confidently and proud before them.
''Right now I want those who feel the same as me. Those who want to unite with me and protect our way of life I ask you to follow me in battle!" Naruto declared as loud as he possibly could.
His words got an even louder reaction from the crowd and the sounds of their cheering might as well be heard across all the elemental nations.
-Kumo Countryside-
After Naruto had given his speech he was now seen leading first bridage of the first division as they ran to meet the Shinsengumi in pitched battle in Kumo's countryside. Beside him were Genma, Kurotsuchi and Ken while behind them were all the shinobi from the great and minor villages. From above it looked like there were hundreds if not a thousand ninja from all the different villages charging side by side to meet their enemy in battle with the sounds of their thunderous footsteps echoing throughout the countryside. Unbeknownst to the shinobi alliance on the other side of the field near where a forest was stood a figure who was watching the mass of ninja coming his direction and the figure was revealed to be Shisui Uchiha.
''Here they come, time to execute the plan.''
The shinobi could make out the distinct shape of Shisui standing tall in the center of the field but unbeknownst to them in the surrounding area were hundreds, if not a thousand samurai armed with katanas, wakizashis, kanabo clubs, naginatas, yumi bows lying in wait for them. Little did the shinobi know that where they were headed was booby trapped with the poison gas Kabuto had created and in just a few short minutes the bravado and confidence they were displaying would be gone in a few short moments.
