"Previously, on Total Drama..." Chris began his typical recap, with footage from the finale of the last season being shown. "Some amateurs took over my show during my year long 'vacation', so that was certainly an experience to behold. Some kid faced off against another kid in a chill challenge, sounds pretty lame. I'd skip that season if I were watching it, since it was hosted by NOT me! But now I'm back baby!" Chris skimmed over what happened, his narration completely contrasting the finale footage.
Chris was walking in the middle of the film lot after the footage ended, right down the middle of rows upon rows of soundstages. "The network still owns this crummy old film lot, so we've asked our all new cast to report here! What they don't know, is that we rented out the film lot to the same company that housed their waste on Wawanakwa. But hey, we're covered this time! This isn't a wildlife reserve or whatever the government said it was, so the film lot is fair game!" Chris stated, holding up a contract with the DEP logo on it.
Chris lowered the contract, then looked to both sides of himself. "As you might be able to guess because of that, things have changed around here since we last used the film lot! Of course, just like with Wawanakwa, they've gotten way more dangerous!" Chris brought up, stepping away from one of the soundstages as a loud roar came out of it, followed by some green goo firing right out through the chimney.
Chris sidestepped the green goo, then just continued on his way. "Despite that, the rules of the game are the same as always! 4 weeks, 25 teens, and one heck of a lot of cash for whoever doesn't get voted off! So strap in, grab some popcorn, and don't touch that remote, because this is Total, Drama, Revenge of the Film Lot!" Chris raised his arms with each part of the name, just to add emphasis.
Intro Sequence:
The rock tune of I Wanna Be Famous started up, with high-grade film cameras popping out of different places. First out of the chimney of a trailer, then out the window of a soundstage, a toxic waste barrel after that, and finally a sewer manhole before a movie clapper came in and closed, letting the full shot begin.
Dear Mom and Dad, I'm doing fine, you guys are on my mind
The camera zoomed onto the film lot, passing by Chris in a dingy golf cart being pushed by Irene, Oliver, Elroy, and Ted, while Virgil was stuck to the cart itself. Going past several soundstages, the camera weaved between a few movie backdrops, before going up the large hill that led to the soap opera sets on top. The shot then dove down into a pool of water below where King was swimming inside. He saw Fang swim up behind him, so he turned around and punched him right in the face, sending the mutant shark flying up.
You asked me what I wanted to be, and I think the answer is plain to see
Flynn was above the water, now in a soundstage, commandeering a pirate ship floating on it while Delanie copied his behavior. Fang landed on their ship though, forcing both of them to dive off of it. Trixie had watched the two jump down, smirking at their misfortune.
I wanna beeeeeee famous!
The shot now panned out of this soundstage, passing up Kahlin running out of one of the dressing booths, with Sasquatchanakwa right behind him. Jack was looking over some outfits on a rack, although Lilac jumped out from behind some of the clothes, showing her teeth and scaring him.
I wanna live close to the sun
Beck was relaxing on a lounge chair on a beach set, his hands behind his head. He winked at the camera, while Flaky and Bonnie were ogling at him from behind a bush.
So pack your bags cuz I've already won
Panning to the right and into the makeup trailer confessional, Kylie was doing her makeup, applying lipstick at the moment. Trina walked inside, carrying a basket of different foundation. Kylie looked them over, then shooed Trina away.
Everything to prove, nothing in my way, I'll get there one day
Klaas and Vergil were in a boxing ring together, both of them glaring at each other. Vergil threw a punch, as did Klaas, with their fists colliding as they did so. Both of them fell back because of this, although Esteban was quick to run in and help them up.
Cuz I wanna beeeeeee famous!
Toby and Luis were in the kitchen with Chef, with Athena preparing some kind of soup. She seemed to be having trouble with it though, so Toby walked over to help her out. Maxine was watching this from a monitor in Chris's office, then pressed a button to try and blow up the kitchen.
Na na na nana, nananana, nananana
This blew up a different set though, where Thomas, Nanashi, and Jim were inside. A bear had taken the brunt of the explosion though, and it let out a roar at the three of them. Jim pointed at the other two and ran off with a guilty look, although Thomas ran away as well, leaving Nanashi to get chased by the bear.
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!
Diamond and Melissa were sitting at the outdoor theater on the benches when Jim and Thomas ran by. They didn't pay much mind to it though, but Freddy popped up from behind them both with a puppet mask on, startling them both. Diamond laughed, while Melissa rolled her eyes.
I wanna be, I wanna be, I wanna be famous!
A flash from the outdoor projector transitioned to the Aftermath studio, where Donna was sitting in between Geoff and Bridgette. Mittens the monkey hopped up from behind the couch, scowling at the aftermath hosts. This confused both, with the shot then zooming out to show the rest of the contestants sitting in the peanut gallery benches, whistling along with the last notes of the intro while the season logo was shown on a TV above.
After the intro ended, a shot of a white city bus was shown driving down the street. Inside, 24 of the contestants were sitting inside in 4 rows of 6, with 2 on each side of the rows. Chef was driving the bus, with it being a rather casual drive for him while the contestants chatted amongst themselves.
In the front row, the first girl was a British young white lady with blond hair in a bun and blue hooded eyes. This was Athena. She was wearing a short-sleeved navy blue blouse with a red tie, white skirt, white leggings, and black Mary Janes. She was just looking out the window, gazing at nothing really. "Wonder when we'll get there." she said, speaking completely monotone.
The person next to her was a relatively muscular Caucasian boy with brown hair in a cowlick style and green eyes. He was wearing a light purple polo shirt with ash gray jeans and black and white sneakers. "You don't sound the most confident. You don't have any guts do you?" the guy told her, speaking in a bit of macho tone. This was Klaas.
Athena just shrugged, looking at him with empty eyes. "Not really." she answered bluntly.
In the seat behind them, a white boy with neatly combed brown hair overheard Athena and peered over their seat. He was dressed in a green sweater with white sleeves and had corduroy pants with black shoes. "Hey, cheer up will nya? You're about to have a purrty good time!" a high-pitched voice said, confusing both Athena and Klaas.
The boy then held up a yellow cat puppet with a green scarf and black top hat. "Sorry, my name is Toby. This is Luis, my best friend. We just heard that you weren't too confident, just wanted to say that you've got this." Toby told Athena politely, having a warm smile on his face.
Toby then just sat down after that, sitting with Luis close to his chest. The girl next to him was an Asian girl with long brown hair in a ponytail. She was slightly muscular, had blue eyes, and a small diamond nose ring and earring on her left ear. She was wearing sneakers, cut skinny jeans, and a San Diego State hoodie with a black t-shirt underneath. "Toby huh?" she greeted him.
Toby gave a polite wave to the girl sitting next to him. "Yes, nice to meet you. What's your name?" Toby asked back, his polite tone being consistent.
"Melissa. Some call me the Road Runner. Nice to meet you too." Melissa introduced herself, just looking forward.
In the front row on the right side sat a more tough looking boy. This was Vergil, and he was Italian, had coal black hair in a layered faux hawk, and pale blue eyes. He was wearing a black open hooded leather jacket with a dark navy blue shirt with a white skull underneath, black fingerless gloves with tribal designs, a skull onyx ring on his left hand, street-styled black cargo pants with chains on each side of his waist, and black military style combat boots. "Guessing you're the bad boy they picked huh?" a girl said to him in the seat next to him.
The girl next to him was Kylie, and she had tan skin, with dark brown wavy long hair held in a high ponytail with a red scrunchie. She had purple eyes from the looks of it, and was wearing a white and red two piece cheerleading uniform, a leather mini jacket over it and red converse. "Pssh, not like I wrote that on the application. Dunno why I got picked." Vergil replied, not too happy with being type casted immediately.
The guy sitting behind them heard this and popped up to interject. This was Kahlin and he was a tan skinned boy with a typical athlete build. He had dark brown short shaggy hair and dark brown eyes to match. He was wearing a blue baseball jersey with a white tee underneath, brown jogger pants and white converse. He also had on black fingerless gloves, and a gray baseball cap worn backwards on his head. "Sounds to me like we've got the most dangerous teen in Canada on our hands then!" Kahlin joked, getting a chuckle out of Kylie.
"Not a fan of this, but if you guys don't take it far, I'm all for jokes." Vergil told them, not wanting to start anything right off the bat.
The girl sitting next to Kahlin was Diamond, a dark brown girl that was a little plump with an apple figure. She had straight black hair with blue tips that went down to her shoulders, and brown oval eyes. She was wearing an unbuttoned sapphire and black flannel shirt over a black V-neck. She also had dark gray jeans, black combat boots, and a black beanie. "Yeah, jokes are cool to start out with. We'll probs be at each other's throats in a week, so better to start on a good note." Diamond agreed with Vergil, leaning back in her seat with her hands behind her head.
In the third row on the left side, Esteban was sitting in the window seat humming to himself. He was a black guy with light brown messy hair that almost resembled an afro and blue almond shaped eyes. He was wearing a green soccer jersey with a white 69 on the back, ripped jeans with dirt stains on them, and brown chanclas. "What are you humming sir?" a female voice next to him asked.
Esteban looked to his right, then down at the girl next to him. This was Trina, and she was a short girl with lumber colored skin, round olive eyes, and long neatly brushed fluffy light blonde hair that went down behind her chest. She was wearing a gray blouse with a white collar, a tan skirt, and dark gray heels. "Oh, just some doo wop tunes in my head. They get stuck in there easily." Esteban answered, having a friendly smile on his face.
Trina was just looking up at him while sitting with her hands on her lap. "Ooh, I know what you mean sir! I listen to a lot of jazz back in the office, helps me concentrate, those sax solos live rent free in my head too sir." Trina agreed, letting them play in her head for a moment, humming a small part of Sh-Boom by the Chords herself.
"Plebian music. Hmph." a voice coldly commented behind them. This was King, an almost pale white boy with combed blonde hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a white tuxedo with a black shirt and a blue and black tie along with black shoes.
Trina heard him, then looked back at King. "Huh? Did I say something wro-" Trina began to ask, wondering what she said wrong.
"Do better." King interrupted her, then sat back down in his seat properly.
The girl next to King leaned forward, waving to Trina and Esteban. This was Trixie, a girl with dark brown skin, black hair in two pigtails, and gray eyes. She was wearing a plain brown short sleeved striped shirt with long sleeves, blue pants, and brown shoes with blue socks. "I know just what you two are talking about. That song is buried in my head too, most of the snobs back home stick to the Crew Cuts version though." Trixie commented.
King rolled his eyes, but he just blocked the three of them out, instead opting to look out the window so he wouldn't have to look at them.
In the third row on the right, two guys were casually chatting with each other. The first was Freddy, a Caucasian boy with slightly messy brown hair that was done up at the front and blue eyes. He was wearing a Foxy styled sweatshirt, black jeans, yellow and purple shoes, a black top hat, and a small Chica bib that says 'Lets Eat'. "So yeah, Security Breach just wasn't that good in my opinion. Love the series, but the latest just wasn't up to snuff." Freddy told the other guy.
The other guy was Jack, a Hispanic boy with messy dark brown hair and round blue eyes. He was wearing a simple green t-shirt with one red stripe, dark gray pants, and purple shoes. He had a necklace with a wooden cross, and a pair of scissors in his pocket as well. "I dunno dude, I thought it was alright. Guess my standards are just lower, since I've played some bad horror games before." Jack reasoned.
"As a die hard fan of FNAF, you can trust me on how bleh it is. I don't think we'll ever get a super good one again though." Freddy assured Jack, letting out a sigh afterwards.
Jack just shrugged, then looked out the window. "Wouldn't surprise me if they make a movie based on it. They keep trying to make a movie, but instead we just got schlock like the Banana Splits movie or Willy's Wonderland." Jack commented.
Freddy nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I'd still like to see that get done someday. Cool to meet someone who knows their horror stuff still." Freddy said with a smile, already having hit it off with someone.
Behind them was the opposite of people hitting it off. Beck was sitting at the window seat, reading an auto parts catalog. He was a good looking boy with medium length sleek hair, tank skin, and brown eyes. He was wearing an open leather jacket, a yellow t-shirt underneath, and olive pants with yellow sneakers. It would have been a peaceful ride, but he was growing uncomfortable due to someone just staring him down.
This person was Bonnie, a pale scrawny ginger with short curly hair and light blue sunken eyes with bags. She was wearing a green skirt, purple leggings, and a purple jacket. "Can I help you?" Beck asked her.
"You're doing more than enough already." Bonnie replied, just looking Beck all over.
"Riiiight, can you just stay in your seat then?" Beck requested, since Bonnie was leaning into Beck's seat as she stared him down.
Bonnie did as told, but she just continued to stare at him. Beck just tried to focus on the catalog he was reading, blocking out Bonnie from his peripheral vision.
In the fifth row on the right side, one of the girls was going through her purple backpack at the moment. This was Donna, a Latina girl with brown eyes and long brown hair in a low ponytail draped over her shoulder. She was wearing a pink shirt, an orange skirt, purple leggings, explorer boots, with a diamond necklace on. "Gotta be in here somewhere..." Donna said to herself as she searched.
The girl sitting next to her was Nanashi, a Japanese girl with messy brown hair that went to her back with a single dark brown streak on the right of her bang. She had a dark brown right eye, and a lilac left eye. She was wearing a light red plaid sweater jacket with a black sleeveless shirt with a pop up collar underneath, black skinny jeans, and black casual flats. She also had a red rose hairpin on the right side of her head, dark red-framed glasses, a thin cross choker and a small bandage on the middle of her nose. "Whatcha looking for?" Nanashi asked her.
"Mittens." Donna answered, confusing Nanashi a little.
"Mittens? But it's the middle of the summer. That seems a little silly to put on right now!" Nanashi pointed out, giggling afterwards.
Donna then pulled a capuchin monkey wearing mittens out of her backpack, shocking Nanashi as she saw this. "Ahi tienes! Knew you were in there!" Donna exclaimed, holding the monkey out in front of her.
"You... brought a monkey?" Nanashi asked, pointing to the monkey in her hands.
Donna nodded her head. "Si! This is Mittens! Say hi Mittens!" Donna answered excitedly.
Mittens gave a deadpan wave, then hopped onto Donna's shoulder. "That sure is something... well that's cool!" Nanashi gave a thumbs up, smiling at Mittens. Mittens just frowned back, not in the mood for this.
Behind them was another weird figure, that being Flynn. He was a peach skinned red head with combed hair to the right and messy in the back. He also had a scruffy beard and orange eyes. He was wearing a blue pirate hat with a yellow feather, a black eyepatch over left eye, a white t-shirt, a blue pirate coat with yellow decals and sash across chest, brown pants with light brown patching and belt, and black pirate boots. "Yar! Can't wait to see what adventures await us at the film lot!" Flynn exclaimed.
The girl next to him gave him a funny look after hearing this, as if his outfit wasn't enough. This was Delanie Freakin Rios, a Mexican girl with brown hair in a shoulder-length bob cut and green oval eyes. She was wearing a green V-neck forearm length shirt with a forest green stripe at her waist, khaki pants, and red shoes. "Woah, you're a pirate actor huh? Pretty dedicated to the role I'd say." Delanie asked.
Flynn shook his head, then laughed afterward. "Silly lassie, I'm the real deal! I'm a pirate, and a pirate I shall be!" Flynn answered.
"That was a test, so you're really in the role! Nice. Gotta keep an eye on you for sure, need to take notes for a possible pirate role in the future." Delanie told him, not buying his words of course.
"But I am a pirate! Arr!" Flynn protested, not wanting Delanie to get the wrong idea.
"Sure you are, keep it up!" Delanie brushed off his words, looking over his attire now, much to Flynn's frustration.
In the fifth row on the left side was Jim, trying to catch a few Zs on the ride just to be safe. He was a white guy with short red hair slicked back with gel and round blue eyes. He was wearing a slick, black overcoat over his red shirt, red basketball shorts with black and silver stripes on each side, and a pair of black football cleats with white socks. "Hey, we're almost there! Wake up before I take your blood!" a voice told him, waking Jim up quickly.
Jim opened his eyes up to see Lilac there, rubbing a nail on his neck. She was a pale girl long black hair, and diamond shaped red eyes. She was wearing a long sleeve red crop top, black pants, red skirt, and blue sandals. "What are youses, a vampire?" Jim asked, pushing Lilac away, with his accent being clear right off the bat.
Lilac shook her head, still smiling. "Nope! Just really like blood. Like, a lot. Don't worry, I wasn't going to hurt you~" Lilac told Jim, using a bit of a soothing voice.
Jim was just growing confused with this behavior, but he kept a stern face. "Well youses better not even try bruv, because I can rearrange your little face if you get on my bad side." he threatened her, holding up a clenched fist.
"Yeesh, I was just playing around. Don't need to jump to that so quickly." Lilac held up both hands defensively, still having her smile though.
"And so was I, we are done." Jim said back, then closed his eyes again to nap for the rest of the ride.
Behind them was a Caucasian girl standing at 3'10", easily the shortest in the bus. She had medium length hot pink hair in a side ponytail, although not much could be seen thanks to her cloak's hood. This was Maxine, and she was chilling in a large gray hooded cloak, a black choker with a cat bell, black sneakers, black socks, and nothing else from the looks of it. "Hmm... so many incompetent fools on this bus, they will all suffer my wrath! Mwahahaha!" Maxine declared, letting out an evil laugh that was undermined by her high pitched voice.
The guy sitting next to her looked offput by this declaration, looking down at the hooded villain wannabe. "Is that so?" he asked her curiously. This was Thomas, a pale ginger with medium length hair having bangs covering his blue right eye. He wore blue framed glasses, black trousers, a white shirt with a dark blue sweater with letters alpha and omega on it.
Maxine nodded her head, rubbing her hands together. "Yes! I am the greatest evil mastermind, and the villains always go further in this show! Just like Heather, Justin, Courtney, Alejandro, Dawn, and-"
"I get it. Good luck on that." Thomas cut her off.
Maxine didn't like that all though, crossing her arms and pouting that she was cut off mid villain exposition. "Fine, you'll suffer my wrath too! You'll be eliminated at my hands! Mwahaha!" Maxine let out another evil laugh, trying to bigger herself up again.
The laugh turned into a cough though as the bus suddenly came to a stop, making Maxine fall forward in her seat and hit her head on the seat in front of her. "Yep. Whatever you say." Thomas told her, not at all intimidated.
The bus had now arrived at the film lot, where Chris was waiting for them at the gate with Flaky. "Welcome to the set everyone!" Chris greeted everyone, with Flaky then handing him a coffee cup to drink from.
"Thanks for the welcome Chris, great to be here. Mighty nice lot you've got." Kahlin waved to Chris as he stepped out of the bus, being the first person out.
Melissa stepped out right after him, looking at the gated entrance. "So this is the place? Not too shabby." Melissa commented.
Trixie walked out of the bus a little after a few of the others, groaning as she saw the set. "Ugh, looks even more run down than before. You guys are probably too cheap to maintain it huh?" Trixie remarked, not impressed at all.
Jack was impressed though, his eyes widening as he saw all the soundstages. "Awesome! This is like that trip I took to Global studios Hollywood!" Jack exclaimed, greatly excited.
"Yeah yeah, suck up to him, see how far that gets you." Trixie rolled her eyes, annoyed by the enthusiasm.
Jack scratched the back of his head, not getting where this came from. "Uhh, I'm just a big fan of horror movies. Some sci fi and action too. Really cool to see the soundstages all lined up like that." Jack defended himself a bit awkwardly.
Jim stepped out after Jack, nodding in agreement. "Oi, it's pretty cool to see 'em all right there capisce? I'm a pretty great actor, so I'll probably be in one of these here in the future if I had to bet." Jim agreed, albeit a bit braggadocios.
"I just wonder what the prop blood looks like. Hope it at least looks accurate." Lilac commented, making Jack step away from her.
Chef soon pulled up in a golf cart, which was towing a long cart behind it. "Hop on everyone, because it's time for a tour of McLean Studios!" Chris directed everyone to the cart, letting them sit down in 5 rows of 5, with Flaky now joining them. She had changed out of her intern outfit though, wearing a red hoodie over a black skirt.
Klaas raised an eyebrow as he sat down, soon watching the bus speed off. "So you just had us ride in a bus for hours, just to stick us in a cart for hours probably?" Klaas pointed out, annoyed with this arrangement.
Chris nodded his head, getting in the driver's seat while Chef moved to the side. "Correcto mundo! Except you won't be here for hours, this is a rental, so we're gonna zip right through the tour!" Chris answered, quickly starting the golf cart and crashing through the gate entrance.
"Hey, that's dangerous! Someone could get hurt if you do that!" Esteban warned Chris, holding his arms up to stop wood from hitting Trina and Vergil on his sides.
Chris didn't slow down though, just driving the cart between the grid of soundstages. "Once again, welcome all of you to the set of Total, Drama, Revenge of the Film Lot!" Chris regreeted the cast, raising his arms for a moment as he said the name of the show.
"Why is it called revenge? What did you do to the film lot?" Diamond asked, leaning back in her seat with her hands behind her head.
Chris just gave a wave of dismissal as they continued on, heading towards the outdoor sets. "Not much, just housed some toxic waste here and there. That's all. Not my waste though, and the producers made sure that it's fully legal, since you're in a controlled environment!" Chris answered, snickering afterward.
Trina gasped, covering her mouth with both hands for a moment. "Sir? Are you sure that's a good idea to have us here then? I mean, think of the other legal ramifications that would come of such actions sir!" Trina reasoned, looking around a bit nervously.
Chris looked back at Trina, since she was in the front row of the cart behind him. "I saw your application, I know you're one of those legal types. So don't try and law school talk me! Might just let someone rig you out of the game Courtney style, she was a law type too you know." Chris threatened Trina, which made her sink back in her seat a little, now staying quiet.
The cart drove through a set that looked like New York City, although straight out of 1776 instead. "Yarr, this be looking like the places our crew travelled!" Flynn exclaimed, adoring the scenery.
Chris slowed down a little as they drove through historical New York, looking back at the contestants. "You'll be spending the next four weeks competing on sets like these for a chance to win a million big ones! You'll take part in challenges for immunity, but no rewards! That's right, someone WILL be eliminated every episode!" Chris laid out the rules, although this wasn't too surprising.
"That's what happened last season, and the season before. Got anything new to say man?" Vergil asked, letting out a fake yawn.
Chris nodded his head. "This season, we've got three teams! That's right. Producers said the fans loved the three team format, so that's what we're doing! But we'll get those created later. For now, zip it!" Chris replied, glaring at Vergil.
Vergil didn't care though, just shrugging at Chris's words. "Is the elimination method still the Lame-o-sine? That would be a little less painful than what the Reloaded guys had to do." Nanashi asked, thinking about the other changes to the film lot that could be there.
Her answer would quickly come though, as Chris soon drove by the award ceremony area, with the grand stage and podium still present, with wooden bleacher style seats facing them. A red carpet led away from the area, and Chris drove over it carelessly. "Whenever your team loses or you don't get immunity, you'll have to face judgement here, at the award ceremony! We've got plenty of Gilded Chris's to hand out!" Chris stated, with Chef holding up one of the Gilded Chris statues for example.
Since the award ceremony area was on their left, everyone looked to the right and saw just what they expected. "Behold, the Lame-o-sine! Budget is gone, so the method works as is! Once you take a ride in this baby, that's it for you!" Chris told the others, with the Lame-o-sine currently spewing smoke.
Chef pressed a button on the center console, making windows rise up for the golf cart, protecting them from the smoke while everyone else coughed as they took it in. "I can fix that heap up for you, my dad runs his own auto shop." Beck offered, not too fazed by the smoke since he was used to it.
"You can fix it on your way out, we've got places to be right now!" Chris replied, with Chef lowering the window once they passed by.
After that, the cart passed by the restroom trailers, with another trailer between them. "Just like last time we used the film lot, you'll be venting your feelings in the makeup trailer for the world to hear!" Chris stated, pointing to the trailer in the middle.
-Confessional: Melissa-
Melissa looked around the trailer, although she seemed indifferent to all the beauty products. "So this is all pretty cool to have around in here, but I'm going to focus on keeping my head in the game. Chris said there would be three teams, so I hope I end up on a good one. It sure would stink to be on a team that can't pull their weight."
-Confessional: King-
King looked disinterested, looking around the makeup trailer for something capture his interest. "No one here has impressed me so far. I came here for a challenge, and it's definitely not being delivered. Hopefully someone actually poses a threat."
-Confessional: Athena-
Athena wasn't even looking at the camera, just applying some lipstick while looking at one of the mirrors. When she finished, she didn't look happy or sad with how the coat came out. She just got up and left.
-End Confessional-
After the common trailers, Chris then drove by a large green tent. "For meals, you guys will be eating at our craft services tent, catered by Chef!" Chris informed the others, with Chef giving the players an obviously fake smile and wave, which just looked even more unnerving.
"The food isn't gonna be mutated or anything right? You're going to catch some hands if you try and feed me that gross stuff!" Kylie warned Chris, already dreading the meals.
Chris just gestured to Chef next to him. "Depends on what Chef puts on the menu! I have my own craft services tent with 5 star meals, so I wouldn't really care either way!" Chris replied, with Kylie narrowing her eyes at him in suspicion.
Chris then drove the cart up to two large trailers, one pink and one blue. "These are your trailers that you'll be staying in! Each trailer has 7 bunk beds, so that should be more than enough room for all of you to cram into!" Chris pointed to the trailers, which were of decent quality.
Flaky sighed as she looked at them. "T-That's a l-lot of people in one t-trailer..." she commented quietly.
Klaas just shrugged, not minding if things were cramped. "Just be thankful we get somewhere decent to sleep. Odds are, we'd be sleeping in maggot infested cabins if Chris could bring them here." Klaas told her.
After that though, Chris pulled up to a dusty soundstage and parked the cart. "All of your challenges will be based on movie genres, and what better way to start things off than with a classic... Treasure hunting flicks!" Chris announced, hopping out of the cart and walking over to the door.
"Treasure hunting? So like, Arkansas Janes and stuff like that? I thought you did this in season 2." Kahlin pointed out as he and the other players got out of the cart as well.
Chris looked back at him and shook his head with an annoyed expression. "Did you even watch Action? I did not spend 20 whole minutes coming up with all new movie genres for you to say the first one is a repeat! Just get in the soundstage!" Chris demanded, opening the door and letting everyone walk inside.
-Confessional: Kahlin-
Kahlin looked a little shocked, holding both hands up. "Remind me to just not question anything Chris says. Didn't think he'd get so heated over that. I've seen the Arkansas Janes movies before, although I don't know if seeing them is going to help in this challenge since we'll probably be reenacting some scenes."
-Confessional: Jack-
Jack had an eager smile on his face, then pointed at himself. "I've seen all the Arkansas Janes movies, but those are some pretty normie flicks. Those and Country Valuable, pretty much everyone has seen 'em. Loving the Rock and Home of Soaring Knives are WAY underrated. I'm ready for whatever Chris throws at us, been preparing for the nuclear fallout my whole life actually. Dr. Oddcare showed me that things could go wrong at ANY moment, and if you aren't prepared for the worst, then you're just a walking corpse!"
-End Confessional-
Inside of the soundstage wasn't what the contestants actually expected though. Everything was dark, with a rack of flashlights on the wall as soon as they stepped in. "Welcome to the McLean Temple!" Chris welcomed everyone as they stepped inside, walking in with them.
Chris pulled out an explorer hat and put it on, then walked over to the rack of flashlights. "For your first challenge of the season, you'll just have to traverse a temple set and leave through the back exit of the soundstage! Be careful though, the treasure of immunity is guarded by tons of classic traps!" Chris explained what their challenge was, chuckling afterwards.
Chris grabbed one of the flashlights and shined it ahead, revealing that there was a massive wall in front of them as well. The only way through was a tunnel, and not much could be seen beyond that. "In every treasure flick, the explorer always finds themself in a tunnel. Whether it goes down, or just through a mountain, there's always a tunnel. So have fun!" Chris told the players, then left through the front entrance and closed the door behind him.
Thomas grabbed the doorknob on the door and turned it, revealing that the door was locked. "Hmph. Only way out is through then." Thomas pointed out, then grabbed a flashlight from the wall.
"Best get a move on then if you want to win! That's what I'll be doing!" Delanie proclaimed, then grabbed her own flashlight and ran into the tunnel.
Melissa smirked as she grabbed her flashlight. "That makes two of us then!" Melissa shouted after Delanie as she ran into the tunnel as well.
Donna was excited as well, letting Mittens grab a flashlight for her. "Odelay! To the treasure we go!" Donna exclaimed, darting into the tunnel next.
One by one, everyone else grabbed their flashlights and walked into the tunnel as well, looking at what was a pretty decent cave tunnel recreation. "I hope it doesn't get too tight in here, less oxygen hurts the blood circulation..." Lilac commented worriedly as she walked.
"Move aside." King told her coldly, then began to push past everyone to make his way to the front.
Trixie grumbled as she was pushed past, nearly dropping her flashlight. "We just met and I already hate him..." Trixie remarked to herself, watching him push past the others soon enough.
-Confessional: Trixie-
Trixie rolled her eyes, picking at her fingernails. "That nicely dressed guy really hits close to home for me. I've pickpocketed plenty of uppity hoity toity people like him before, and they're always the most annoying. Hopefully the others see him as annoying send him home as soon as possible, because I don't feel like putting up with his type."
-Confessional: Bonnie-
Bonnie was leaning on the vanity, having a cheeky grin on her face. "You know what's great about dark tunnels? You can just grope people and no one will even know..."
-End Confessionals-
"Huh, did someone grab me? You better answer whoever did that!" Vergil demanded an answer, rubbing his rear as he walked, shining his flashlight behind him.
Bonnie just shrugged, raising a hand. "Wasn't a grab. Just tried to squeeze by you, my bad." Bonnie replied, then walked past Vergil now that he had stopped to look back.
Vergil narrowed his eyes at her, but didn't say anything and just kept walking forward, looking at his feet to make sure he didn't activate any traps. "Coulda sworn it was a grab..." he mumbled to himself.
"Crud! You gotta be kidding me!" Delanie let out, stopping at the front of the pack.
Melissa, King, and Donna were all right behind her, and the rest of the players were soon lined up behind her as well. "What happened? Found a trap?" Melissa asked, peering over Delanie's shoulder.
The tunnel split off into five different paths, with the outer ones going upward as well. Donna saw them as well, then turned to face the hidden camera in the tunnel capturing footage "Look! There are different paths! Which one should we go down? The red path? The blue path? The yellow path? The green path? Or the gray path?" Donna asked the camera, which earned her some weird looks.
"Who is she talking to?" Kylie asked Beck, looking to him since he was right behind her.
"No clue." Beck replied.
Delanie looked at the paths for a moment, then just chose to go down the 3rd, or middle path. "I'll just have to improvise when I'm in there, but that's no problem for Delanie Freakin' Rios!" Delanie declared confidently as she ran ahead.
"Sounds like she knows what she's doing at least. I'll follow her then, because mazes aren't really my thing." Kahlin said as he weaved between a few people then took off down the middle path.
"Yarr mateys! Those that wish to find the treasure will join my crew! Follow me!" Flynn shouted, then ran ahead into the fourth path.
"Sounds fun, I'm in!" Freddy followed Flynn with no hesitation at all.
Melissa looked over the paths, then just ran to the first path on the left. "Not like it matters, they probably just have different traps." Melissa assumed as she jogged up the first path.
Jack tapped his chin, then opted to go for the fifth path. "The last path is always the one that works in movies, so here goes a lucky guess!" Jack used his own logic, then ran up the last path.
"Lucky? I've usually got that covered, so here goes nothing." Klaas followed Jack, figuring his luck would pull through.
Donna nodded her head at the camera, then pointed at the 2nd path. "The blue path? Buena eleccion! Let's go Mittens!" Donna decided seemingly out of nowhere, then began to jog down that way.
"I'll make sure she doesn't hurt herself, I worry for her..." Esteban told the others, then followed Donna into the second path.
Toby decided to do the same, jogging after Esteban. "Probably isn't the best for us spend a ton of time on this, I'm just going go with them." Jim said, then went down the second path as well.
King didn't want to be anywhere near them, so he just went down the first path for his own sake.
Everyone else dispersed indiscriminately, with Vergil, Trina, and Kylie going up the first path, Lilac and Nanashi going down the second, Beck, Diamond, and Thomas going down the third, Bonnie, Flaky, and Maxine going down the fourth, and Trixie and Athena going up the fifth path. "There better not be a correct answer we had no way of knowing..." Trixie grumbled to herself as she jogged up her path.
-Confessional: Esteban-
Esteban had both hands on the vanity table, looking at the camera with a soft smile. "Many would call me protective, and I would have to agree with them. That girl's mannerisms, she might be... special. I don't think it's good for her to be here. Either she's just acting and this act could lead to her getting hurt, or she just behaves like this normally, which is also a safety issue."
-Confessional: Donna-
Mittens was sitting on Donna's head, with the latter having a big smile as she held up a stick of red lipstick. "What color is this? Is it... azul? Amarillo? Rojo?" Donna asked the camera.
There was a pause.
"That's right! Rojo! Muy bien!" Donna praised the camera, then set the lipstick down.
-End Confessionals-
In the first tunnel, Melissa was jogging by herself in the front of the pack, shining her flashlight ahead through the rocky tunnel and keeping a watchful eye. "Maybe I picked the trap-free path..." she muttered to herself, growing a little helpful since she didn't see anything dangerous.
Those words were undone quickly though, as she soon saw a large pit ahead with just a rope dangling over it. Where the pit went, that was uncertain since it was just one big shadow from Melissa's view. "So that's what he meant. I'm game." Melissa said to herself, her jogging now turning into a sprint.
Once she got super close to the pit, she jumped, having pretty good form. She was able to grab old straw rope successfully and swung across the pit, leaping off at just the right time on her first try. "Whew! Track practice coming in clutch!" Melissa exclaimed, then continued her jog forward.
The four who had later went into the first path were a decent ways back, trying to jog together. "Do you have to run so close?" King asked Vergil, since the punk was right behind him.
"We're in a CHALLENGE you idiot! Why don't you run faster so I don't have to tail you?" Vergil shot back.
"Oh shut up, I don't need to humor you." King dismissed Vergil's words, then began to run faster.
Kylie and Trina exchanged uncomfortable glances, with Kylie soon jogging past Trina. "Excuse me, really not in the mood to listen to you two babies argue, so later boys!" Kylie told them both, weaving between Vergil and King and running ahead.
"See how much of a pain in the butt you're being? Your fancy butt can stick to the back, don't make me help you back there." Vergil threatened King, holding up a fist.
King glared at Vergil, holding a fist up as well. "Don't even try." King threatened Vergil back, ready for a fight.
"Sirs, can we please not fight right now? We just met, and I don't think it'd really be ideal if we started on such a bad foot sirs." Trina interjected, wanting to put a stop to this before it got out of hand.
Vergil scoffed, gesturing to King. "Just met? Don't make me barf, we don't even know each other's names. That prude is just another obstacle right now. But for you, the name is Vergil. Better remember that." Vergil introduced himself to Trina, and by proxy to King.
"King Prince. Now can you stop bothering me?" King introduced himself, getting very tired of Vergil's banter.
Trina sighed, then gave a polite wave to both. "I'm Trina. Trina Bellwether, nice to meet both of you sirs." Trina introduced herself much more formally, trying to keep a smile despite the awkward situation.
Vergil looked at the two high class folk, then smirked. "Prince John and Smellwether, those are your names until you actually do something to earn my respect. Now you better not get in my way." Vergil insulted both of them, although this only seemed to bother King.
"I don't need your respect." King rejected this idea, then sped up his running to get further ahead of the other two.
The three came across the pit though, where Kylie had already made it across. "Have fun boys!" Kylie taunted them as she continued on.
Trina knelt down in front of the pit, peering over to try and see where it led. "It looks bottomless sirs. I don't think this is safe." Trina told both of them, pulling out her notepad and writing something down in it.
King shrugged, then jumped across without even needing the rope. "Later." he told them, keeping it formal despite how rude Vergil was.
Trina watched King with amazement, not expecting him to pull it off. "Wow... he's amazing." Trina commented.
"So Prince John can back up his talk. Interesting, didn't see that one coming." Vergil was also a little impressed, but he wasn't happy about it.
Vergil stepped back, then ran forward and jumped, grabbing the rope and letting go at the apex of the swing. He landed safely on the other side, letting out a proud huff afterwards. "There we go, later Smellwether!" Vergil taunted Trina, then left her behind.
-Confessional: Vergil-
Vergil had his arms crossed, a serious look on his face. "Where I'm from, you don't get a pass to money just for being a good kid. Prince John and Smellwether both look like they've never had any actual work in their life. Prince John has some skills though, I'll give him credit where it's due. No respect though, his types don't get that from me. I'll watch out for him and try to get him booted, since he's a pretty big threat potentially. Smellwether on the other hand, she's someone I'd actually keep around. Completely harmless, useless, I know these types. Just because it's the first day doesn't mean I can slack off and get to know everyone, I need to hit the ground running in this game."
-Confessional: Trina-
Trina was writing some things down in her notepad, then looked at the camera with a smile. "Hi, umm, I'm Trina, and things are going just swell! King is super talented, and he gives everyone the cold shoulder it seems. I don't know if I'll be able to make friends with him. Vergil, great tough boy image, I think he'd be very marketable to the youth of today. Very dominant I'd say."
-Confessional: Kylie-
Kylie twirled a finger to her head, making a crazy motion. "Those guys are already bickering on day one! Really hope I don't have to share a team with them. And if I do, I hope they're at least separate."
-End Confessional-
In the second path, Donna was leading everyone through the tunnel. Or rather, no one wanted to get too close to her thanks to Mittens on her head. "You see trap ahead?" Jim asked, trying to look over everyone in front of him.
Toby couldn't see over Esteban, and neither could the others, so he just looked back to face them, holding Luis up. "Hey, I've got a joke for nya'll!" Luis said, trying to get everyone's attention.
"What is it?" Nanashi asked, not really that focused on the challenge.
Luis held back some laughter when Nanashi asked, the joke already getting to him before he could even tell it. "Why does a teddy bear never want to eat?" Luis asked.
Lilac smirked, already figuring it out. "This is a trick question, teddy bears can't eat to begin with." Lilac pointed out.
Luis shook his head though. "Nyo, it's because they're always stuffed!" Luis delivered the punchline, then laughed for a moment.
Donna laughed and Esteban gave a chuckle, while the other three didn't find it as funny. "That be pretty tame bruv." Jim commented.
Toby bowed his head. "Sorry. I was just hoping to lighten our walk." Toby apologized, with Luis bowing his head as well.
"Ooh! Trampa! There it is!" Donna exclaimed, pointing at a pressure plate on the ground.
Donna went to step on it purposefully out of curiosity, but Esteban was quick to grab her arm and pull her away from it. "Just step right over it, it could be dangerous." Esteban warned Donna, guiding her over the pressure plate and walking past it with her.
Donna frowned, looking back at the pressure plate. "Oh... I was just hoping to show the kids what it did!" Donna explained, getting confused looks from everyone but Toby.
Since Esteban was ahead of Donna now, the puppeteer was able to walk right up to her. "I understand your goal, but I don't think the kids would like to see us get hurt. That's why I had Luis tell a joke for them!" Toby told her, giving a sincere smile.
"Ohhh, bueno! Just like how I teach the kids Spanish!" Donna gave her own example, figuring out what he meant.
Toby nodded his head. "Just like that. We'll stick to fun Spanish lessons. Can you tell the kids what puppet in Spanish is?" Toby requested.
"I'd love to!" Donna exclaimed, delighted to have a request.
In the back of the pack, Jim stepped over the pressure plate just fine, but Nanashi was listening to Toby and Donna talk, so she was unfortunate enough to step on it despite knowing it was there. The tunnel began to shake, catching everyone's attention. "What did you do?" Lilac asked Nanashi, since she was the one who set it off.
Scarabs began to crawl through the cracks of the cave wall en masse, alarming everyone. "Scarabs!? We get out here now!" Jim yelled, his walk turning into a run quickly.
-Confessional: Jim-
Jim slammed a fist on the table, obviously mad. "If I was front, we wouldn't be runnin' from some scarabs! It be a pain in the arse I tell ya that!"
-Confessional: Nanashi-
Nanashi didn't seem that upset at all, in fact, she was smiling pretty brightly. "I'm a little accident prone, losing prone, failure prone, all kinds of prone! But I don't let it get me down! That kind of stuff just happens! We got attacked by scarabs, not a ton we could do about it now, so why be a downer over it?"
-End Confessionals-
In the third path, everyone was jogging together with no issues whatsoever. Delanie was leading the group, a confident smirk on her face. "I feel like the rival explorer in an adventure movie right now! We're racing the other explorers to the treasure, and we'll stop at nothing to get it done!" Delanie declared.
"Probably 'cuz we're literally on a film set." Diamond pointed out the obvious.
Delanie looked back at Diamond, then pointed a finger. "I'm the veteran explorer here! I'm Regina Franklin, long time rival of Arkansas Janes! Know your place, tourist!" Delanie shot back, using a more bravado tone now.
"Nice macho voice. My roles don't really use them often, so it's neat hearing one done so well." Beck complimented Delanie, although it wasn't more than a casual compliment.
"Nothing but the best from Regina Franklin! Haven't failed a mission yet, and I ain't failing one now!" Delanie replied, sticking to her act.
"Theater kids..." Thomas mumbled to himself, with no one else picking up on it.
They soon reached the trap on their path, and it was a pretty obvious one. There was a pressure plate on the ground, then a long series of harpoon launchers in the cave walls. "Oh dang, Chris went all in on the classic traps!" Kahlin let out, stopping in place.
"Regina Franklin isn't stopped by anything!" Delanie shouted, stepping on the pressure plate and deploying all of the harpoons in the process. She already had a running start though, so she was able to outrun the harpoons and make it the other side of the row unscathed.
For the other four in the path though, it had now become a wire filled mess, as the harpoons weren't retracting. "Great... wonder if she'll get a Gemmy for slowing us down." Diamond complained, stepping over one of the harpoon wires as the four of them continued on.
-Confessional: Beck-
Beck was combing his hair for a moment, before just tossing it onto the table. "Don't know her name, so I'll just call her Regina. Regina seems cool. Didn't know how many other actors were going to sign up for the season, but it's cool not being the only one."
-Confessional: Delanie-
Delanie had her arms crossed, smirking at the camera. "I always stayed committed to my roles. If you develop habits of breaking character just because you aren't currently filming on set, you've already failed as an actor fundamentally. That's why I'm a tier above the others!"
-Confessional: Diamond-
Diamond rolled her eyes, before just giving the camera an annoyed look. "That Regina girl or whatever her name is, she's annoying. I just know her schtick is going to get old fast." she complained, then pulled a Gameguy Advanced out of her pocket and action game sounds could be heard playing from it.
-End Confessionals-
In the fourth path, everyone was following Flynn as they zig-zagged through the tunnel, since this path seemed to wind a bit. "Captain uhh... what's your name? Do you see anything ahead?" Freddy asked as they ran.
Flynn shook his head, then looked back at Freddy. "Call me Captain Flynn matey! There be no end in sight either!" Flynn answered, holding a hand above his eyes as if that would help his view.
"N-No end? It's starting to feel c-cramped in here. Something k-keeps grabbing m-me too... the walls f-feel like they're closing." Flaky let out worriedly, shining her flashlight at the walls for a moment.
"No idea what's grabbing you. Must be the tunnel getting narrower as we go forward." Bonnie replied, stepping past Flaky afterwards.
Maxine was at the back of the pack, aiming her flashlight up her face, having it below her head. "Ooh, look how EVIL I look with this! This lighting is just perfect! Mwahaha!" Maxine laughed, getting Freddy to look back at her.
"Oh hey, forgot we can do that. Kinda pointless for the challenge, but I'll try to hold onto my flashlight for later then after the challenge." Freddy noted, doing the same with his flashlight for a moment.
Maxine laughed again before aiming her flashlight forward. "You wouldn't be able to handle my evil stories if we did that! They're too EVIL for you to bear! One time, I was babysitting 8 kids for Halloween, and I managed to get them to all pee their pants with just one story! Bwahaha! On top of evil schemes, my evil machinations are just too scary for some." Maxine explained.
"You babysit?" Freddy asked her.
"Yes I do. I'm great with- HEY! That's not the point! I only do it for the money! I'm too evil to like kids! The point is that my evil stories would scare you all to death! Be afraid!" Maxine yelled at Freddy, growing upset.
No one looked afraid of course, since Maxine was just a little thing. "I said be afraid!" Maxine demanded again, raising both hands up.
"GAH! Watch out crew!" Flynn yelled, pointing at the ceiling.
"Now that's more like it." Maxine said with a satisfied smile, thinking she caused the terror.
Freddy looked up at the ceiling of the tunnel, seeing water start to pour out of the cracks. "How did we cause that!?" Freddy let out, not knowing what they did to set off the trap.
"M-Might just be a m-movie reference..." Flaky murmured nervously, stepping out of the way of one of the cracks.
The five of them then walked into a large temple room, with more water pouring from the ceiling. There was a hatch on the ground, as well as an opening on the top of the room. "Oh it's one of these. Huh." Bonnie commented as they stepped inside.
Once Maxine walked in the room, the doorway to this room closed, and the floor soon began to fill with water. "Eeep! This is a trap! You! Open this hatch instantly!" Maxine ordered Flynn, pointing at the hatch on the floor.
"I'm down to just wait for the water to rise. Then we just go through the top." Bonnie settled, leaning against one of the walls.
"Arrr, it be a waste of time if we wait for that! C'mon crew, let's get this open!" Flynn tried to lead everyone, grabbing onto the hatch to try and pull up.
Freddy and Flaky joined in, and the three began to pull at the hatch lid. "Will brute forcing this even work? Usually these traps have some kind of other gimmick to them." Freddy wondered, looking around the room as they pulled.
Flaky pointed at the center of the lid. "There's a h-hole. Maybe there's a key s-somewhere?" Flaky pointed out. The hole in question was about the shape of a tootsie roll, definitely looking like a large keyhole.
"Maybe the flashlight fits in there." Freddy guessed, then tried to shove the corner of the handle of the flashlight into the hole to try and turn it.
It didn't work though, and Maxine soon walked up to him and snatched the flashlight from him. "Give me that you buffoon! I already figured it out, you just don't have the same kind of powerful evil mind that I do!" Maxine told him cockily.
Maxine opened up Freddy's flashlight from the bottom, twisting off the bottom plate and tossing it aside. The two batteries fell out, and Maxine put one of them in the keyhole. She then twisted the batteries in the keyhole, and the hatch flipped open. "See! I'm just so EVIL! I know how death traps work inside and out!" Maxine boasted, laughing afterwards.
"Thanks lassie, you really saved us there before things got bad! Let's go crew!" Flynn thanked Maxine, then hopped into the hatch after the water above the hatch drained out of the room.
Maxine stopped laughing, realizing what she had done. "No! No I didn't! I'm evil! EEEEVIL!" Maxine reiterated angrily, but everyone was already leaving.
"Sure you are." Bonnie retorted as she stepped past Maxine, then climbed down the ladder in the hatch, which took them to another tunnel below.
-Confessional: Maxine-
Maxine was standing up on the chair in the makeup trailer, having both hands behind her back. "I don't think these fools quite understand the level of evil my mind operates on. It shouldn't be an issue though. When I eliminate them all, they'll all beg for mercy! Wait, they'll beg for mercy, THEN I'll eliminate them! MWAHAHA!"
-Confessional: Freddy-
Freddy was leaning back in the chair, having a casual smile. "This place is already pretty neato! There's a lot of oddballs, but hey, I might as well be one of them too. That one guy I talked to on the bus, I don't think I got his name, but he was pretty cool to talk to. We've got a lot in common!"
-Confessional: Flynn-
Flynn had his arms crossed, although you couldn't really tell if he was smiling or frowning thanks to his large beard. "These scallywags are looking like a bunch of soft landlubbers! If any of them are on Captain Flynn's team, I be sure to whip 'em into shape!"
-End Confessional-
In the fifth path, Jack was leading the other three through the tunnel. "Adventure movie 101, just about any trap can and will be set off by the stupidest things, so just stick to the path!" Jack warned the others, shining his flashlight directly ahead.
Klaas nodded his head. "Got it. Makes sense that Chris would have the same logic for the challenge. Great that we have someone actually competent with us, not that I'd be scared of any traps as is." Klaas replied, getting an eyeroll from Trixie.
"So you're a wuss only when you feel like it? Makes sense." Trixie remarked, jogging behind Klaas.
"As if, I've just been through a lot, so I don't get scared as easily." Klaas replied, although Trixie didn't buy it.
Athena was jogging at the back of the group, not really paying attention to the little squabble in front of her. "Oh. The ground feels like it's shaking." Athena commented, and soon the other three felt it.
"No no no!" Jack let out, looking toward Athena. "You aren't supposed to point it out!" Jack shouted at her.
Trixie just gave a wave of dismissal despite the shaking. "Eh, not like it'll matter. What's the worst that could happen?" Trixie asked, half-jokingly.
"You aren't supposed to ask that either! Now something is definitely going to happen!" Jack now shouted at Trixie, grabbing his hair in frustration.
Just as he said that, a boulder dropped from above and crashed into their tunnel, right behind Athena. "What!? That doesn't even make sense! Run!" Klaas yelled, pushing past Jack to get ahead and run away from the boulder.
Athena just walked over to a small gap in the cave tunnel and squeezed in there, letting the boulder roll right past her before she stepped out. "That wasn't so bad." she commented, completely apathetic to the plight of the others ahead of her.
"Way to go movie expert, you just got a boulder dropped on us!" Trixie blamed Jack as the the three of them ran from the boulder.
"Me!? Oh no, you and that blank girl were the ones that caused that! You walked right into the movie tropes!" Jack blamed her back.
"Can you two stop!? We're gonna die if that thing rolls over us!" Klaas yelled at both of them, sounding more panicked.
Trixie of course took this time to get a jab in. "Oh so now you're scared!" she remarked.
"Not the time for that! Our lives are at stake!" Klaas snapped back at her, and the three continued to run.
-Confessional: Klaas-
Klaas had one arm resting on the table, not looking the happiest. "Okay, so I drew a bad hand with who I was working with. Movie nerd might be helpful to be on the same team as, but I really can't stand people that are constantly sarcastic. Didn't get much of a read on the other girl though, she's got a complete poker face. Might have to keep an eye on her actually.
-End Confessional-
Over at the other side of the soundstage, Chris was waiting on a folding chair. He was still wearing his explorer's hat, with his coffee mug in the cupholder. He grabbed it and took a sip, then spat it out. "Bleh! That's cold! I need some coffee stat!" Chris ordered.
Oliver brought over a fresh cup of coffee, which Chris snatched away from the intern. "That's more like it! Wonder what's taking the kids so long." Chris commented, looking at the five exit doors on the back of the soundstage.
Soon enough though, Melissa came running through the first exit, not having broke a sweat. "Speaking of, congrats Melissa! You're the first one here!" Chris congratulated Melissa.
Melissa fist pumped the air, then put both hands on her hips. "Well, I am on the track team back home, makes sense I'd win a race. It's not going to be too long of a wait for the others is it?" Melissa asked Chris.
Chris just shrugged, putting his hands behind his head as he leaned back on his folding chair. "Maybe, maybe not. Can't really see what's going on in there right now." Chris answered nonchalantly.
Delanie soon came through the third exit though, groaning when she saw Melissa. "Second place? Seriously? Regina Franklin does not take this sitting down!" Delanie shouted.
Chris got up from his chair, figuring that more of the players were going to start arriving. "If it's any meaning to you Delanie, you still got immunity today, plus a special reward on top of that!" Chris informed her.
"Better than nothing I guess." Delanie mumbled, now dropping the adventurer persona since they were off the set.
Some screams were heard, and the fifth exit was soon flung open. Jack was the first person out, with Klaas and Trixie right behind him. "Watch out everyone, boulder!" Klaas warned everyone, with the three of them now heading to the right to move out of the path of the boulder.
The boulder tore through the exit, then just kept on rolling once it was out of the set. "Chris? Shouldn't you do something about that?" Melissa asked, pointing at the boulder.
Chris just waved it off. "Nah, it's just a prop." he dismissed her concerns, but a loud crash in another soundstage indicated there was more going on.
Chris then walked up to the three that just ran out. "Jack, congrats on being the third one to arrive, you're immune for tonight! Klaas, Trixie, tough luck." Chris told them, making Jack smirk at the other two.
"Guess it pays to know your movies!" Jack bragged, while Trixie kicked the ground.
"That's a load of crap, but whatever. Not like I'll get voted off instantly anyway." Trixie conceded, still feeling safe.
King was the next person to make it out, running by himself. "Make a better challenge next time. The only hold up was Vergil." King told Chris, disappointed in him.
Flynn, Freddy, Flaky, and Maxine all came running through the fourth exit, with Bonnie walking out just after them. "Arrgh, we were beat here crew. What a shame." Flynn said disappointedly, seeing that other players were already here.
Chris nodded his head. "That's right, no immunity or rewards for any of you! At least you got a warm up for the season!" Chris told them.
Not long after Flynn's party, everyone in the second path came running out their exit as well. As soon as they did though, scarabs flooded out of the exit, alarming everyone but Chris and Jack. "Save yourselves!" Nanashi shouted.
"Guys, scarabs aren't a threat. Like, at all." Jack told them, stifling a laugh at their panic.
"Wait, they aren't?" Esteban asked, being the first one to calm down.
Jack nodded his head. "Yeah, they just eat dead flesh. So unless you're a rotting corpse, you've got nothing to worry about. They've been used in so many horror flicks despite that pretty obvious fact." Jack answered, with that explanation now calming the others down.
The scarabs just scattered harmlessly, although Jim still stepped on one just for fun. "Escarabajo!" Donna exclaimed.
"What?" Jim asked her, scraping his shoe on the pavement now.
"Escarabajo! That's Spanish for scarab! Can you say escarabajo?" Donna replied, leaning a little closer to Jim.
Jim stepped away, shaking his head. "No, I'm good. Not in mood to summon demon or whatever." Jim turned down whatever she was doing, backing away and making Donna frown.
"Escarabajo. That has a nice ring to it. Thanks for letting me know." Toby thanked Donna, which brought a smile right back to her face.
Kylie ran out the first exit next, then the group of Kahlin, Beck, Diamond, and Thomas came out the third exit right after her. "Aw crud, looks like those harpoons slowed us down wayyy too much." Kahlin snapped his fingers, although he didn't look too bothered by losing.
Vergil and Trina were the next ones to get out through the first exit, followed by Athena just casually walking out the fifth exit. "Great, we're the last ones here. Nice going Smellwether." Vergil told Trina, then stormed away from her.
Chris did a quick headcount, then pulled out his airhorn and blew it. "Game over! That's all of you!" Chris announced, which grabbed everyone's attention.
Chris pointed to Melissa, then Delanie, then at Jack. "Melissa, Delanie, and Jack here all won immunity for being the first three to arrive! After you guys vote someone off tonight, they'll get to pick their teams as a bonus reward for winning!" Chris announced to everyone, which confused some.
"An elimination? But we didn't even form the teams yet." Kahlin asked, a little confused by this.
"There's 25 of you, so we gotta cut one of you so the teams are even! Remember, our three winners are immune, so the rest of you are fair game!" Chris answered, then walked away from the cast to get ready for the ceremony.
-Confessional: Lilac-
Lilac was leaning on the table, looking unsure. "I barely know these people, and I have to vote one off? I only spent time with a few of them anyway, and even that wasn't much to go off of. Hopefully I don't get targeted. I don't think I will, since I didn't do anything to draw the ire of others. Fingers crossed!"
-Confessional: Flaky-
Flaky was playing on her Gameguy in the makeup trailer, but she still looked like a nervous wreck. "T-They're going to v-vote me off... I just k-know it... I'm p-pretty sure they all h-hate me since I've w-worked for Chris b-before..."
-Confessional: Thomas-
Thomas was tapping his chin with one hand, letting his other arm support that arm. "I don't quite have enough intel to make a decision that will benefit me. Delanie looks to be a threat, but she is immune, so I will have to just vote for someone else. I stayed very low key this challenge, so I surely won't be voted for."
-End Confessionals-
Grandiose music played after the confessionals, showing a highlight reel of all of Chris's best moments and expressions from throughout the series. Fireworks could be heard, and the reel panned out to show a giant Gilded Chris in the center of it all. Fireworks went off behind the statue and the music got louder, signaling that the award ceremony was about to start.
The players were all spread out in the stands, sitting in most random spots as the stands were big enough for nearly 40 people. "It's time to cast your votes people!" Chris greeted everyone as he walked onto the stage, now dressed in a blue suit.
"Under your seats, you'll find your voting devices! Just tap the icon of the person you want voted off. I know you don't really know each others' names quite yet, so the faces should be helpful. Remember, no peeking!" Chris instructed everyone, making them all reach down and grab their voting mini-tablets.
Everyone in the stands all sorta had in mind who they were voting for, so only a few actually took a bit to place their vote, just tapping their tablet and having the vote go through. "This is kinda nerve-wracking..." Kylie whispered to Beck, since she and Bonnie had opted to sit next to him.
"A bit yeah, but I think you'll be fine." Beck told her, not nervous in the slightest.
Chris heard a beep from the tablet on his podium in front of him, which displayed the results of the vote. "The votes have been cast!" Chris announced.
Chef walked onto the stage, dressed in a pink dress and pink chef hat, with diamond earrings and a necklace. This of course sparked some laughter while Chef just looked humiliated. He was carrying 24 Gilded Chris statues in his arms, soon standing next to Chris. "I better get a raise for doin' this crap again." Chef half-threatened Chris.
Chris didn't pay his threat any heed though. "If you get a Gilded Chris, it means you're safe! If not, that means it'll be time to take a ride in the Lame-o-sine!" Chris stated, then grabbed three of the statues from Chef.
"And now, the Gilded Chrises go to..."

...
...
...
"Melissa."
Melissa was tossed her statue first, having a proud smile on her face.
...
...
...
...
...
"Delanie."
Delanie snatched her award out of the air bitterly, still upset over taking second fiddle.
...
...
...
...
...
"Jack."
Jack held a hand out and caught his award, already knowing he was safe.
...
...
...
...
...
"Diamond."
Diamond caught her award by the head, then flipped it properly in her hands.
...
...
...
...
...
"Esteban."
Esteban sighed with relief, then let out a small wheeze as the statue tossed to him hit his chest.
...
...
...
...
...
"Athena."
Athena showed no reaction to being safe, just letting the award land on her lap.
...
...
...
...
...
"Freddy."
Freddy high-fived Jack, since he was sitting next to him, then caught his award.
...
...
...
...
...
"Lilac."
Lilac didn't look too surprised, but she still looked relieved to be safe as she caught her statue.
...
...
...
...
...
"Toby."
Toby caught his award with one hand, as his other hand still had Luis on it.
...
...
...
...
...
"Jim."
Jim smirked as his award was tossed away, and he swiped it before it completely got to him. "Still got it bruv." he said to himself.
...
...
...
...
...
"Flaky."
Flaky let out an exasperated sigh, very relieved to be safe from elimination as she caught her award.
...
...
...
...
...
"Kahlin."
Kahlin was leaning back in his seat casually, and he caught his statue perfectly like it was a baseball flying into the stands.
...
...
...
...
...
"Thomas."
Thomas gave an approving nod to this result, then caught his statue with one hand.
...
...
...
...
...
"Beck."
Beck wasn't surprised at all to be safe, so he just lazily held a hand out to catch his statue.
...
...
...
...
...
"Kylie."
Kylie caught her statue with a hand, then used her other hand to blow a kiss at Beck, who wasn't really sure how to react to it.
...
...
...
...
...
"Bonnie."
Bonnie smirked, then held a hand out to catch her statue, but she held it in the wrong spot and got conked in the head by her statue instead.
...
...
...
...
...
"Flynn."
Flynn took off his hat and used it to catch his statue, then pulled it out and put his hand back on.
...
...
...
...
...
"Maxine."
Maxine let out an evil laugh as she heard name, but the statue hit her in the stomach, making the laugh turn into a cough.
...
...
...
...
...
"Nanashi."
Nanashi looked surprised to be safe, but she still happily caught the award nonetheless.
...
...
...
...
...
"Trina."
Trina smiled as she heard her name called, catching her award with both hands. "That's a relief..." she whispered to herself.
...
...
...
...
...
"Klaas."
Klaas knew this was pretty late, but he still had a completely neutral expression on his face as he caught his award.
...
...
...
...
...
"Trixie."
Trixie let out a small huff, knowing this was a late time to get her award as well, but she still accepted it.
...
...
...
...
...
"King."
King effortlessly caught his statue, he didn't seem all that concerned to be getting his statue this late, since he'd expected it.
That left the bottom two. Donna and Vergil. The two looked at each other, with Donna smiling and Vergil scowling. "Great, you guys think you're real funny huh?" Vergil told the others.
Chris nodded his head, looking at the tablet. "Yup, you somehow managed to make some enemies on day 1! Bad boys don't do the best in the friendship department after all. Donna, who let you bring that monkey onto the film lot?" Chris moved on to Donna, seeing Mittens sitting on her shoulder.
"He's my best friend! He had to come with me, just like everywhere! Explorer partners for life!" Donna answered merrily.
"Uh huh." Chris said, a bit offput by Mittens just being there. "Well anyway, one of you is heading home tonight! And that loser will be..."

"Donna."
Donna raised an eyebrow, looking at the others in the stands. "Huh? I got voted off? But I thought... I thought I was getting along with everyone and helping them learn!" Donna was very confused, trying to find an answer.
"Erm... it's probably for your own good that you leave here." Esteban told her, although he looked a bit guilty as he said this.
Jim nodded his head in agreement. "Plus, you're just dang weird siski." Jim added.
Vergil scoffed, nodding in agreement as well. "Didn't even see much of you, and I could tell you have some screws loose." Vergil told her, twirling a finger near his head.
Donna looked disheartened by this, standing up from her seat. She was about to just walk away defeated when Toby stood up. "Hey, I think that was a bit too harsh." Toby stated, looking to Jim and King mainly.
Toby then looked to Donna. "Donna, this is just a dangerous place to be, and none of us want to see you get hurt. That's why they voted for you. You're a wonderful person from what I've seen, so just take care okay?" Toby tried to explain why was she was voted off, giving her a comforting smile.
"Nyeah! Nothin' purrsonal!" Luis agreed, waving to Donna.
Donna smiled as well, waving back at Luis. Mittens was still pretty pissed off about losing, just sitting on her shoulders with his arms crossed. "Thank you Toby, you're a real good friend. Or in this case, amigo! That's friend in Spanish! Buena Suerte Toby!" Donna told Toby, then began to walk away from the stands and towards the Walk of Shame.
Donna just walked down the red carpet with Chef accompanying her, where she then got in the Lame-o-sine and sat down. "Adios everyone!" she gave one last wave to everyone, and the Lame-o-sine soon sped off.
With Donna gone, Chris then faced the camera while standing at his podium. "And there goes our first boot! Who will Melissa, Delanie, and Jack pick for their teams? Will King ever learn to cool it? And will Bonnie learn what personal boundaries are? Find out next time, on Total, Drama, Reeeeeevenge of the Film Lot!"

Author's Note:
Hey everyone, TDFan2077 here, thank you all for reading! I know there was a long wait between the casting call and this actual episode, but I hope it was worth it! The vetting process for the cast was all done in our Discord server, which you can join by using the invite code on my profile! We've got discussions, bios, and a bunch of other extra stuff to chew on there! Back to the episode, I was originally gonna lead with a dystopia battle royale, but it wouldn't really show off any dynamics or set anything up besides showing off who is the most athletic, so I scrapped it. It kinda puzzled me that we never got an Indiana Jones parody in Action, so I decided to make it the opening challenge just to give a taste of what's to come! Thank you to LittleRedLine for sending Donna in, she's someone whose gimmick is pretty nice for an early boot without it getting old. This obviously won't be the last you'll see of her, as many of you can guess, but this is where her story in the competition ends. I hope you all enjoyed this, and I'll see you next time!
