Once the chaos in the interrogation room had faded, Alex and Nikita went into action. They rushed to the basement morgue and put their black badges to use. Nikita did most of the talking and persuading. She got the lab tech out of the room while Alex just stared at Sean's unmoving body. She knew he wasn't dead, just severely drugged. She had the drugs that'd revive him. He would be alright. Amanda couldn't kill him. Alex would save him- after Nikita snapped her out of her shock, "Alex…"

"Okay. I have Sean. Now what?" Alex called Birkhoff over the coms. He had given her and Nikita the necessary drugs to revive Sean from the dangerous Division cocktail. If they didn't do it quickly and correctly, Sean would die. Alex was determined to not make any mistakes. She wouldn't dare do anything that'd compromise her boyfriend's life. Anything Birkhoff told her to do, she'd follow exactly. They had put Sean at risk to save him from Amanda. They had to ensure that it was actually worth it- that he lived and could eventually live happily ever after with everyone he loved.

"Set up the serum. It should inject the right amounts into his bloodstream. Just watch to make sure it's working," Birkhoff explained gently. Alex had every right to be upset and panicked. But she didn't need to be worried. Division had been bringing people back from the dead for more than a decade. Sean would be fine. As long as there were no big surprises in the morgue, everything would be okay. Sean would be in Division soon, safe and sound- or as safe as Division could ever be.

Birkhoff spoke too soon, unfortunately. Not long after Alex and Nikita started giving Sean the serum, Naomi Ceaver burst into the room with her weapon drawn. Alex quickly covered Sean's unconscious body with her own. Nikita stepped between them and the gun. Maybe the agents should've taken the CIA analyst's appearance in the FBI building more seriously. Yet it was no use beating themselves up over it then. Naomi was just another situation the team had to diffuse. Hopefully, with the right words, it could be, "Whoa. Naomi. It's okay. We're on the same side here."

"Are we?" Naomi responded to Nikita with a smirk. Her completely shocked and horrified expression at seeing the two agents attend to Sean had disappeared. It was replaced with the cocky confidence only a rogue secret agent could muster. She pointed her pistol at the serum instead and- before Alex and Nikita could react- she destroyed the life saving vials. Nikita was able to immediately guess that Naomi was actually Gogol. Why else would she act that way, and why else would Amanda trust her with the black box intel. Gogol had a mole in the CIA that entire time, and Division was duped by it.

Naomi shrugged, easily owning up to Nikita's assumption. She also explained that she had been deep cover for years; she was only called on a mission then. Nikita didn't allow her to say more than that. She knocked the gun out of her hand and attacked. Alex forced herself to ignore the two women. Nikita didn't need any help in making sure Naomi didn't hurt Sean again. Alex's attention could be completely focused on saving her boyfriend. The vial that was supposed to wake him up had been completely destroyed. There was no way to administer it. There was no other way to save him, "Birkhoff! Naomi destroyed the last vial! What do I do?"

"Relax. You're in a morgue. You should be able to find another," Although his own anxiety began to rise, Birkhoff tried to keep a cool head. Somebody had to be steady while Nikita viciously fought Naomi and Alex panicked about Sean. The hacker could take a steadying breath and step up. Scanning the morgue inventory list he had already hacked, Birkhoff guided Alex to the right drug. He also helped her gather the materials she needed to inject the drug herself. He wasn't sure of the amount, so he had to do a bit of research. Fortunately, Division and Medical were meticulous about the information they kept- well, it was fortunate then.

"I got it!" Alex called in triumph. It took a little too long to get the right drug; she had to duck and dodge her way around Nikita and Naomi. Yet Nikita soon moved the fight out into the hall. That gave Alex the room she needed to save Sean. At least, it should've been. Sean began to have an adverse reaction to all the drugs in his system. The saving agent hadn't been given to him fast enough, and all those drugs were beginning to take its toll. As Alex hurried back to him, he convulsed, "Oh, God. Birkhoff, he's starting to seize."

"Alex, you have to relax. You need to administer the drug yourself. You need to go slow, and you need to do the full amount. Just take a breath. Relax. You got this," It took everything in Birkhoff to not freak out as well. Sean shouldn't have been seizing. He should've been given the lifesaving cocktail, and he should've been well on his way to Division. The longer the agents remained in that morgue, the more likely it was that Sean would die. However, Birkhoff couldn't dwell on that thought- he also couldn't dwell on the sounds of Nikita and Naomi fighting. He just had to help Alex and talk her through administering the drug.

"Come on, Sean. Come on," After giving Sean the last drug, Alex tossed aside the syringe and cradled his face. He had stopped seizing, yet he wouldn't wake up. She didn't believe she'd be able to breathe until he did. All the sounds coming through her com fell against deaf ears; she couldn't even hear Nikita's fight as it crashed back into the room. She just needed Sean to wake back up. She needed his chest to rise steadily, and she needed his heart to beat strongly. It wasn't worth it unless he came back to her. Thankfully, he did after a few more agonizing moments. He coughed and groaned and reached towards Alex, "Oh thank God."

"Ops, we're ready to get out of here. Sonya, add a Jane Doe to the inventory list," Nikita instantly updated Ops. Huge sighs of relief were heard over the coms. Alex beamed at Sean and kissed him soundly. He couldn't really respond. Although he was alive and well, he was still injured and mostly unconscious. Alex and Nikita had to move him to Medical as soon as possible. As they swapped the body tags to sneak Sean out of the FBI, Alex finally noticed that there was an extra body. Nikita had killed Naomi. The young woman stared at her in awe, yet she only shrugged. Once again, the only focus was Sean.

He was moved to Medical without any further incidents. The doctors took over to properly dress his bullet wound and give him a saline solution so he could rest and recuperate without issue. Alex tried to stay by Sean's side the whole time. Yet she needed to give the doctors space to do their job. She also had to debrief with Ryan and change clothes. She didn't give herself a moment to rest like the others suggested, however. The instant she was allowed to see Sean, she sprinted towards his room. She was never going to let him out of her sight again.

Sean remained unconscious. Although Alex was assured that that was normal, she sat next to his cot, held fiercely to his hand, and refused to take her eyes off of him. She obsessively watched his chest rise and fall, ensuring that he was getting air into his lungs. Sometimes, she thought she saw his breathing hitch. But then she realized she was just letting her anxiety and exhaustion wear her out. She needed to stay awake. She had to be the first person Sean saw in Division. She needed to assure him that everything would be alright. There was no need to panic as he finally jolted awake, "Hey. Hey. You're okay. You're safe now. You're in Division."

With the help of Alex's steady hands on his chest, Sean relaxed against the pillows. He was only vaguely aware of what was happening. He remembered shooting himself in the interrogation room, then everything went dark. He assumed he'd wake in Division, though. Shooting himself had saved him from the FBI- and presumably whatever else was going on. Once he became more conscious, he was certain that the team would update him. Until then, he just wanted to let his sisters know that he was okay. He wasn't in any more danger. They didn't need to worry, "I need to talk to my sisters."

"Sean, you can't. You can't contact anyone from your old life. You're dead," Alex admitted softly. She wanted to assume that Sean was still too out of it to fully realize what was going on. She didn't want to think that the full consequences of his actions hadn't occurred to him when he had agreed to Article 134. Being recruited into Division was his choice. The team had tried to tell him what was occurring, and they gave him the option to die and go to Division or to try to fight the assassination allegations. He chose death. He did know that, right.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry," Griping Sean's hand tightly, Alex blurted. Sean just stared at her, his hazel eyes bleary and lost. He didn't understand the repercussions. Hopefully, it was just at that moment. Hopefully, when the drugs were completely out of his system, he'd remember what he had agreed to. Sean Pierce was dead to the world. He couldn't talk to his family. He couldn't be a Seal. And he couldn't live his life. He was stuck in Division, just like the agents until pardons came their way. Sean couldn't be who he was supposed to be, not anymore.

Climbing into the small cot with Sean, Alex held him close to her. He burrowed into her side, and she softly caressed his cheek. She had to say something to help comfort him. There was no real way to make that shitty situation better. But she could soothe him and give him hope, "There was a girl in the brothel who used to say that butterflies were God's sign that we can have a second chance at life. She absolutely loved butterflies; she talked about them all the time. Then, one day, she got so high she thought she was a butterfly. She escaped to the roof and… Now I carry her with me as a reminder that we can always have a second chance."

Her soft words, though difficult for her to express, did settle Sean back down. He fell asleep in Alex's arms, needing all the rest he could as he recovered. She didn't leave the cot while he slept. In fact, she held him tighter. She gave him her warmth, her love, and her comfort, praying he had a peaceful sleep. Once everything caught up to him, he wouldn't have another restful sleep in a long time. He needed it then. She'd sacrifice her own to give it to him. Alex would give everything to Sean, especially since she had helped take so much away.
