Hey guys! RGQC back again with another chapter of Mordred in Remnant and man. Some of your comments in the last Omake/special chapter had made me a bit disheartened. In what way? Well, most did show support for this what if idea but, it was clear that others felt differently about it. And I intend to rectify that by giving ya a proper chapter.
Am I putting unnecessary pressure on myself? Maybe, but here you go, an additional chapter for you guys! But first. Some comments.
Misaka Phenex: Mordred is her own person and I so far, have no plans to bind her to someone else's control or make her have a master anytime soon.
Zekken182: Thanks for the support! And yea. Maybe I could include more in the future… Maybe.
SkyChaser17: Yup! Alter is terrifying for pretty much anyone and everyone. Also, I don't worry, in that what if, Mordred is still independent and has no master. And yea, I find that the later RWBY Volumes were appealing to me. It doesn't have the spirit that Vol 1 to 3 had.
Frankieu: This ain't a looter game! We can't just loot Excalibur Morgan like it's a legendary weapon in a game! XD
SeigZeon: Hopefully this chapter gets your hopes up again.
VGBlackwing: Yup. Fair enough.
Tatito062695: Was it? Then I hoped that this chapter is much to your liking I suppose.
Amerdism: Wow, that is a ton of information. But I agree with ya with all of the things that you had stated, but Mordred as of yet is still weaker due to the merger process that Zelretch did. But should more time pass or… Should our dear protagonist accept his/her fate, then Mordred's power scale would shoot up. Or at least, that's what I think it should work. Till then, we shall see.
Guest: Noted for further notice.
And we are done with the comments. As with my other works, I do not own RWBY or any of the Fate series. All of them belong to their respective owners as such.
Chapter 8
War in the Shadows
How long was it since she saw a familiar face in this new world? Days? Months? But it all doesn't matter now, since she saw Saber of Red on-screen performing. When can she do that? Jeanne could only wonder to herself. During her time in Altas, she had learned much. It does help that whoever brought her here had given her the ability to read and write the language of this world. Yet, it irks her that no information was given to her as to why she was brought into this world, and it's a strange one at that.
First, when she went to the libraries of Atlas for more information about where she was. However, it was then she noticed the obvious discrimination of another subspecies of humans called Faunus that were present in the city itself. Or at least, that's what she believed they were, since every other human in this kingdom called them a separate species entirely. And it was obvious at the blatant discrimination towards them which boggles her greatly. What did they do to deserve it?
Jeanne also took the time to understand more of this world since she was given nothing as of this world. Turns out, she's in the continent of Solitas in a floating city called Atlas with another city below it called Mantle. In fact, the idea of a floating city boggles her as back on earth, there was no such thing. Well… Except that time when she, along with others, had to deal with Assassin of Red's Hanging Gardens of Babylon in the holy grail war.
Yet the more time she spends studying this world, the more she realises that this world is very different from earth. Dust, Aura, Semblance, Huntsmans, Grimm, and many others, many things that were completely alien to her. She also took the time to study the history of this world. The most prominent ones she looked at were the Great War, the Faunus Rights Revolution, and the Vytal Festival.
And that was within the first day on Remnant as this world was called. How particular…
There must be a reason for it.
Months passed and Jeanne had found a part time job at a store to sustain herself despite the fact that now, she's a full servant and not possessing anyone. She still needed money to get around in society and have a home of sorts. Till that day when she saw Saber of Red on screen.
That changes things dramatically.
Her original intention was to figure out why and how as she brought her but it all led to dead ends much to her annoyance. But with Saber of Red here…
Then perhaps, there are other servants in Remnant as well. Though, she misses Sieg and wished that she could have seen him again so that she could confess her love for him. But that aside. The most logical decision is to meet up with Saber of Red. Who happens to be in the Kingdom of Mistral from what she had gathered by asking where the event was taking place.
But things were not going well in Atlas…
There were a series of murder cases going on in Atlas despite the authorities attempt to track down the culprit. But what was more interesting was that those that were murdered were child traffickers for both humans and Faunuses. Which brings up even more questions as to who was killing those people.
There were even breakouts in Schnee mining sites as countless Faunus children and adults were let out of the mines much to the Schnee Dust Company's attempt to catch the culprit but to no avail.
And that was appearing all over the Atlesian news and newspapers. But none of them have actually seen the perpetrator's face. Yet Jeanne believed that there were more to this case.
After all, seeing Saber of Red in Mistral, who's to say that there are other servants in Remnant as well and causing trouble. And so, Jeanne, in her battle dress began to investigate the murder sights for clues at one of the hidden warehouses in the city of Mantle at midnight. And whoever did that was ruthless.
Several of those traffickers were filled with black tipped arrows till they looked like pincushions and others looked like someone clawed them to death. But the most common thing that all of them had was horror on their faces. And the children were missing, judging from the empty cages in the corner of the warehouse. Or more accurately, they were most likely taken to the authorities before departing.
"Those arrows look familiar…" Jeanne remarked to herself as she observed one of those arrows while still holding her flag in her hand.
"Who's there?" An unknown voice could be heard around the corner as Jeanne pointed her flag at the voices as a man with short brown hair and in an Atlesian Specialist uniform walked in. Only to have the tip of a flag against his neck.
"What the?! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Uh, care to put down the... flag?" The man asked as he raised his hands up. Though his team were less than happy that their leader had a pointy part of the flag against his throat, so they pointed their weapons back at the strange woman in a battle dress and had a flag as a weapon.
"Are you here to investigate the crime scene?" Jeanne warily asked as she glanced at the corpse against the wall that had his belly sliced open with his entrails sticking out.
"Would you believe us if we said yes?" The brown haired then asked with a confident smirk.
Jeanne then glanced at the other members before she relented and removed the flag from his neck before resting it against herself as the rest of the brown-haired man's team brought down their weapons. The brown-haired man then smiled.
"That wasn't so hard now, was it?"
"Of course... I should introduce myself." Jeanne said as she relaxed before bowing. "You may call me Ruler. May I know who you and your acquaintances are?" Jeanne then asked.
"Ruler huh? Interesting name." The dark-skilled woman with the exosuit then muttered out.
"More importantly, why are you here? You do know that there's an investigation going on. Do you?" The buff lady then asked before her leader held his hand out.
"How rude of us Ruler. I'm Clover Ebi." The man now known as Clover introduced himself before pointing at his fellow guy friend. "That guy over there is Marrow Amin. The rookie of this team."
"What?! Hey!" Marrow voiced his disapproval as Clover ignored him as he continued.
"The woman with the exoskeleton is Harriet Bree." Clover moved on as Harriet just raised an eyebrow as she continued to observe Ruler.
"And lastly, Elm Ederne. And together we're the Ace Operatives in charge of this investigation at the request of General Ironwood." Clover continued as Elm just gave a small wave as Jeanne nodded.
"Well, it's a pleasure to meet the Ace Operatives. I've read much about you." Jeanne smiled as she gave a formal bow towards them. During her time here, she'd learned that the Ace Operatives were an elite group of Huntsmen and Huntresses from Atlas Academy. If they're here to investigate this crime scene, their help would be most appreciated.
"Now then, to the bigger picture, why are you investigating the murder cases?" Clover then asked as he became serious as Jeanne just stood there and thought to herself before giving an answer.
"Because whoever did this," Jeanne then pointed her flag at all the corpses as well as the empty cages before continuing. "Is not a normal person who would do this. And I have a hunch as to who it might be." Jeanne finished as she walked over to one of the corpses and pulled out the arrow embedded in his chest before offering it to the Ace Ops who just looked at it.
"It's... just an arrow." The dog Faunus then pointed out.
"Perhaps that's true indeed, but if this is who I think it was," Jeanne's eyes narrowed down upon the arrow tip before she looked back at the Ace Ops. "Then things are going to get more complicated."
If this is who she thinks it was, then it would be really bad should she ever come across with her again. And knowing how her previous fight against her went, it was obvious that she hated her to the core after what she did.
With that, all of them began to investigate the warehouse and encounter even more of the brutal slaughter that had occurred.
"Whoever did this to them, really wanted them to suffer…" Harriet mumbled out loud as she observed one of the corpses which had her throat ripped out and her windpipe was found not too far away.
"Yea... I know that they probably deserve it but… Not like this." Marrow then joined in as he found another corpse that had multiple large claw wounds on his body with the most on the poor bastard's face. His eyes were clearly torn off as well as his tongue was clearly and brutally ripped off.
"Hey guys! Look what I found!" Clover then called everyone in as Jeanne then asked.
"Found something that could help us?" she asked as Clover passed her the note in his hand. Jeanne then read it before her eyes widened. "Interesting… So, they were planning to regroup and go into hiding in the slums?"
Jeanne looked up as Clover nodded. "Yea, and that's our next clue. I think it's best we head off right now."
And with that everyone nodded and left the warehouse, though the Ace Ops were purposely lagging behind as they began to discuss their new guest."
"She's a strange one, isn't she?" Elm was the first one to speak.
"Yea, I've never seen anyone wear clothing like that. Though she seemed more of a religious person. That's for me at least." Marrow then tossed his thoughts into the discussion.
"And that armour she's wearing over her dress… it's clearly based on the knights of the old ways. And what's with that headpiece on her head? Is she related to the Arc knights of the past?"
"Could be." Clover mumbled before he continued. "I'll send a message to the general. He needs to know about this."
In Vale…
Emiya could be seen working at a café as customers could be seen queuing up to eat in or taking away orders. Yet the orders just keep coming due to his dishes which he made. In fact, the café owner hired him after she had found out that Emiya or Archer, as he called himself, has no home, and with his help, her café boomed in popularity.
As of yet Emiya was managing the cashier as his boss was on sick leave that day but he had colleagues to help him out in the cooking in the kitchen. It was during that time that four girls with the colour of red, white, black and yellow entered the café as he could be seen cleaning one of the tables.
"Hello! Is the store open?" The girl wearing a red cloak asked as she entered the café.
"Yes, a table for?" He asked as he stopped cleaning and gave the customer his attention. Though, that young girl reminded him so much of his idealistic self for some reason. Was it her innocence that reminded him of his younger days?
"Four." She replied back as she held out four of her fingers to illustrate the point.
Archer then nodded. "Ok follow me." he requested as the four girls followed him towards one of the empty seats before walking off to grab the menu.
"Is there a particular reason why you wished to bring us here Weiss?" Yang then asked as lay her head on her arms.
"I've heard that this cafe's food is of exceptional quality. And I wish to see it for myself."
"Where have you heard it?" Blake then asked as Archer came back with the menu before leaving the girls to do their own thing.
"Just months back in fact, I've been trying to decide where we could eat for our team outing. I then found this café and it has mostly, five-star rating." Weiss explained as Ruby jumped in.
"Oh! And I also heard they sell good cookies!"
Weiss could only sigh at her leader's eating habits before giving a small smile. Archer, on the other side, could only watch as the group of girls interact with each other while also picking and choosing what they should eat. Interestingly enough, the white hair girl named Weiss reminded him of his original master Rin in a way.
And her interaction with her much younger leader reminded him somewhat of the relationship of his master and his younger self before he sacrificed himself, to keep his younger self alive from Gilgamesh's surprise attack.
A part of him could only wonder what had happened after he died.
It wasn't long till the students requested what they wished to have and as he watched them enjoy his cooking, a part of him gave a feeling that those girls in particular will be very important in the future for some reason. But he's unsure as to why though…
No matter, he has duties to attend to.
Mordred POV
A whole week passed since that disaster of an attempt and much had happened since I went into hiding. Aka, I just stayed in my hotel room for most of the time while occasionally leaving to grab food or do some stuff I felt that I needed to do. It was also during that time that I got another of Mordred's dream cycle.
This one however, was way more brutal than expected. I ended up watching Morgan give young Mordred one hell of a brutal training regimen and I had to experience every single thing that she had experienced. And I'll tell ya.
It sucked hard. Really hard. It's honestly painful to watch, no wonder Mordred is afraid of her mother. Worst of all, I feel every single pain she feels.
It was during that time as well that some of the actions that I had done in the past week had begun to show up. One of the most prominent ones is Lionheart himself. Apparently after what I'd done, he went radio silent before vanishing without a trace as to where he went. There was no resignation or announcement. Just him completely vanishing from the world entirely. In fact, even his staff don't even know where he ran off to.
I'm honestly not sure if he actually died or he ran off somewhere, but at this point, I don't think he matters. After all, I still have his pocket watch should I somehow need to access the Vault underneath Haven. Let's hope it will be a while before that happens.
The next thing that was on the news was the rapid decrease in raiding activities by the Branwen tribe. No doubt they fell into infighting before dissolving or they just became a dead boat without Raven leading them. Good. The world needs less of those parasites.
Besides that, I've also taken the time to try out my new gun in the nearby woods and man. Despite all the advantages of being a servant like enhanced perception and reaction, I can't aim for shit. Like how I missed a shot that was decently close! And then I could somehow throw Clarent accurately at my targets and here I am!
Missing. Every. Single. Fucking. Shot.
I should be embarrassed of myself!
But I suppose I need to practice using it more often, or seek out a specialist as to how to accurately shoot a gun. They seriously made guns look easily online and in animations! Guess reality would just slap me in the face huh? Even if I'm a servant.
Or is it because it's too big for me? Probably not since we have a little girl with a big ass sniper rifle that could turn into a scythe. But enough of that. Currently I am having a meal with Sun and Neptune. Why? Well, the whole of Haven saw my performance a week ago and many of them liked my singing, including Sun and Neptune. It also happens that I met them on the road as well so might as well hang out with them once in a while.
"So Saber, what's your plan now?" Sun then asked as I swallowed the burger that was in my mouth.
"Well… I planned to hang here for a while longer before I made my way to Vale." I cordially replied back as I took a sip of soda. Much to my genuine surprise, their soft drinks were literally similar to the drinks back at home except with a different name. As of yet, I was drinking the Remnant's version of Fanta. (Not sponsored by them btw.)
Man… I missed that drink.
"Vale… Isn't that where the next Vytal Festival will be held in a couple of months from now?" Neptune then muttered as he took a bite out of his burger.
"Yup, I planned to watch it live if nothing goes wrong in my journeys." I admitted as I took a sip before I continued. "I assume that you and your team would be participating in it?" I then asked Sun who nodded enthusiastically before wrapping his arm around Neptune's neck.
"You bet ya Saber! Team SSSN will win that festival no doubt!"
I could only chuckle at his antics, heck hanging out with them was quite fun since I was sent here by that bloody vampire. But a part of me wonders if I would get a chance to see it. Assuming the fall doesn't happen thanks to my intervention. Or someone else's I suppose...
"Don't get too cocky, Sun. If you want to win the festival you better be ready, for I am sure that the other academies would send their best to participate." I grinned as Neptune could only smile as Sun's expression dimmed slightly since I had a point.
"Then we better increase the standards, yea Neptune?"
"Sure, assuming you can keep up." Neptune poked back.
"Are you trying to impress me, Sun?" I couldn't help but tease Sun since it's funny to me. All with a small grin on my face. I must be getting used to the fact that I'm a girl now. Though, Mordred definitely would hate that and would never accept it.
"Wh-What? N-No I mean, you're a great friend and you sing pretty good, yea?" Sun tried to deny it only to make it worse for himself. I'm starting to understand why Yang finds it funny to tease others.
"Really now?" The grin on my face only grew as I took a sip. Thankfully for him, his buddy stepped in and saved him from further embarrassment.
"Sun, she's just messing with ya. Am I right?" Neptune told his partner before looking directly at me with a slightly amused look on his face. Though I'm glad that he didn't notice it, my right eye twitched slightly like before. I must be instinctively reacting to people calling me a girl.
I let out a laugh as Sun was red in the face as I admit. "Yea, I was just messing with him. Totally worth it." I said it out as I finished the rest of my burger in hand.
"Drat." Sun muttered as both I and Neptune started laughing at his expense before calming down.
"So do you guys need to return back to Haven?" I then asked as both Sun and Neptune nodded.
"Yea, sucks that we have to go back while you could relax."
"Hey, hey I believe that Saber had to work odd jobs just to pay rent yea?" Neptune then covered me much to my honest surprise.
"Yeah, that's about right. Trust me, some of the jobs I do. Ohm I hate it." I added in, and from the looks of their faces, they believed me. Thank you, C- Rank Charisma!
Both Sun, Neptune and I continued our talk about other stuff until all of us had finished eating our lunch, though before we all left to go our separate ways, Neptune then asked me.
"By the way, Saber, do you think that we could exchange our scroll numbers?" Oh crap. I haven't had one since I got here. Uhm... Shit.
"Well…" I gave a sheepish look as my cheeks flared up slightly as I looked away from the both of them. "I don't have one."
Both Sun and Neptune could only blink blankly at me when I admitted that I don't have a scroll. Neptune then opened his mouth as he raised a finger up but nothing came out of his mouth. I guess that both were flabbergasted that this traveller doesn't have a scroll.
"Oh…" Neptune then finally mumbled something as Sun finally cracked a smile before he descended into a giggle fit. Hey! What's so funny?
"You know what, since we're here, why don't we go and grab you a scroll then?" Sun then suggested much to my surprise. Turns out there's more to this monkey boy than the show shows. Or am I just being racist? Hopefully not…
Having a scroll would allow me to know more of what's going on in Remnant and the consequences of my actions, that would indeed help me greatly in the information part. Though, doing that would connect me with the world and could potentially expose me if one were to look up on the details. At this point the benefits of having a scroll outweighs the cons of having one. Though, a part of me fears Ozpin or anyone else would have an easier time tracking me down.
I wonder if scrolls can go into airplane mode. Hmm… Or is it now airship mode in this world?
"Yea, that actually sounds nice. I've never owned a scroll myself so, while at it, can you guys teach me how to use it as well?" Then asked as both of them looked at each other before nodding as Neptune spoke up.
"Sure thing Saber, let's go." And with that, we left the restaurant to go and buy a new scroll for myself. At the time, I was still wearing my casual outfits and I did not bring my motorbike because I felt like walking instead of riding. Ok, that sounded wrong for some reason.
It didn't take long for us to reach a scroll store and damn! They have every colour type under the rainbow and you can get custom scrolls if you wish! And they are not as expensive as I thought it would be. The most expensive ones I could find are within 200 to 300 Lien and that's cheap compared to some of the prices back on Earth! I'm starting to understand why they were giving me that look earlier.
"And so, I walked up towards the cashier who had fox ears as well as brown hair as well as yellow eyes. She wore what could basically be a black suit. I swore she reminded me a hell lot of Tamamo for some reason. All it's missing is the fluffy tail, pink hair and her blue witch-craft clothes.
"Hello there, how may I help you?" She asked politely as she gave a small bow.
I looked around before spotting a red-white scroll with golden trimmings and man does that look so cool! In fact, the others could tell that I had stars in my eyes as I gazed upon a scroll to call mine.
"I'll have that scroll please." I then pointed with my fingers as that specific scroll in particular. Really digging in on the red huh me?
"Oh, what a wonderful choice." the fox Faunus said as she went to pick it up as Sun then walked beside me.
"You know, most students here are stuck with white scrolls, and here you are, flexing on all of us with your red-white scroll." Sun gave a grin as I could only offer my own back at him.
"What can I say, I do have great tastes huh?" I say back as Neptune then walks up before adding in his own thoughts.
"Yea no doubt about that Saber. Maybe I should get a blue scroll once I graduate from Haven." Neptune wondered to himself as the cashier called me.
It took a while since I literally don't exist in Remnant. In short, I have to create a new profile with my very own photo and name which I left it as Saber for simplicity's sake. It also turns out that the scroll I bought was one of the specially designed ones from a famous guy who I had no idea who he was, I'm not even sure I even remembered his name at all.
Oh well.
Once that was settled, both Sun and Neptune took the time to teach me how to use it. Turns out, not that much different from an ordinary phone but with additional features like showing aura levels, it offers an identity for myself as well as other features like conference calls that were shown in the show. Pretty helpful and convenient if I do say so myself.
After that, both Sun and Neptune have to go back to Haven as they still have lessons in the afternoon but I understand. Though a part of me was saddened that they had to leave so early, was it me or Mordred that was upset about them leaving? I honestly don't even know anymore.
They were genuinely my first friends I've made in Remnant but I know that I would probably never see them again with all the shit that's gonna happen in the future. I would only wonder in my heart as I made my way into the forest. Gotta practice using my gun if I were to use it effectively.
Or at least that was my plan until I read the international news. Turns out. Grimm activity around the kingdoms have diminished by at least 10%. How the fuck do they calculate that? Reports are also saying that they're all converging to a specific spot in the world, where? Well, they never say it much to my annoyance. I don't remember anything from the show stating that the Grimm are gathering this early. Since we're only a few months into vol 1.
Is this one of the changes that was happening to this world? Or more accurately, is Salem responsible for the Grimm gathering up in that one spot? A part of me fears that Salem is making moves on the unknown. Could it be that the additional threat has already arrived? A shiver went up my spine as more theories as to what's going on ran through my head.
Ok. I'm thinking too much. Perhaps I should pick up some jobs while I'm here. Preferably those related to Grimm.
Ozpin POV
How long was it since he was genuinely worried about the unknown? For the first time in a long time, he was confused as to who could do this. First Qrow told him about Raven, and then about the Relic of Knowledge being stolen by someone in a suit of armour. Even worse, was that the only person who had seen her face as Raven but...
She was stuck in a coma from her injuries. That's what went through his head as he watched Raven, in a coma on the bed alongside Glynda, Qrow and surprisingly Tai. Who was there for personal reasons. Qrow has been unusually quiet and the information he gave on the assailant was unusually vague from him.
Yet, with what had happened in Haven, he had tried to call Leon as to how this could have happened. However, to his concern, Leon was unresponsive and only just recently received a call from his second in command about his disappearance. First the Relic was taken from an unknown. Next Leon disappeared without a trace as to where he went.
Were they all connected somehow? More accurately, who are they dealing with now? A part of him wishes to inform Ironwood as to the Relic but he knows that the General would no doubt overreact in his attempts to find the Relic of Knowledge.
And Raven…
To think she was the Spring maiden all along, how did she get it? Did she just happen to get it by pure chance? Or did she steal it from someone else? But only she knows. And only she knows who did this to her…
A part of him was genuinely glad that Raven's back but, ever since she left all those years ago. He felt responsible for making her leave, and he can't blame her. And then there's Qrow who only saw the person partially, but it was obvious that he doesn't want to talk about it.
Was this the can of worms that he had a feeling off a week ago? And if that person linked with the fight a week ago? It all just seemed like a coincidence but he needs more info. With Leon gone and the Relic in the hands of some unknown person that Raven only knows, he's honestly not sure what to do. How did that person know about the Relics? Are they working with Salem? There're just too many holes in that mystery. As if, it just started to happen weeks ago.
And then there's the news on Grimm activity decreasing worldwide and a massive group of them were converging to a specific area in Remnant. Was Salem panning something? And why there of all places? Is there something happening over there that Salem has interest in? He would normally send Qrow there to investigate but for now, he'll leave him alone. It's clear he needs it.
"Glynda. Let's go back." He spoke as he began to walk out of the room.
"Understood sir." Glynda nodded before following before he turned around to address both Qrow and Tai.
"Take some time off, once you're ready. Meet me in my office there's much we need to talk about."
"Got it." Qrow muttered as he took out his canteen and took a long sip.
"Right…" Tai also agreed as he watched Raven resting soundly on the bed with a coma. Ozpin then turned and left the room with Glynda following him.
Though none of them were aware, the fate of Remnant will change sooner than later with the presence of a new power who would soon march into Remnant itself.
Morgan was now overseeing the battle between the Fang clan and the Grimm with the assistance of her royal guards. Such infestation of her kingdom demands retribution. Swaths of Grimm charged towards her royal guards who held them off before crushing them. Entire waves of Grimm were instantly destroyed with the help of magic, while she and her knights watched from the hills.
"These are the Grimm that attack her majesty's kingdom?" Fae Gawain was the first to speak as Tristan just looked bored.
"Those Grimm are weak. To think that the royal guards have trouble with them. What a shame, perhaps I could 'encourage' them to fight harder with your permission, Mother." Tristan gave a sadistic giggle.
Morgan shook her head before walking off with her knights following her towards the main royal guard camp, which had several cages that had Grimm trapped in them since Morgan wished to study them more closely, but as she approached them. The Grimm began to actively dissolve into nothing much to their surprise.
"Interesting…" Morgan muttered as her knights looked at her in confusion and answers.
"It appears that these 'Grimm' have a safeguard of sorts."
"Is that so your majesty? Must we claim a live specimen for you?" Fae Gawain asked as Morgan just shook her head before looking back at the battle and spotting something in the distance.
A completely different Grimm that possesses a black spherical body resembling a smoky crystal ball that is covered with bone-like plates and spikes. It also has a fleshy red and black fleshy tail that falls down and six long red tentacles to go along with it.
Compared to the rest of the Grimm, this one doesn't look like it was fitted for combat based on its looks and Morgan then thought of something that may or may not be true. Something or someone is controlling the Grimm.
"That won't be necessary Gawain. However, I want you to assist the royal guards and push them back. Lancelot, capture that Grimm and bring it to me alive." Morgan gave her commands as she pointed her halberd at the Grimm Seer.
"Your will be done." Both Gawain and Lancelot bowed before Gawain jumped onto her horse and rode into battle as Lancelot took off and flew straight for the Grimm seer. Tristan on the other hand, pouted as she wanted to join in on the action.
"Tristan, I want you to stay by my side." Morgan utters those words as she watched as her knights went on to perform their duty.
"Of course, mother." Tristan bowed.
Gawain charged towards the battle lines between Faes and Grimm, and as she made it in, Cries of both joy and terror could be heard as Gawain charged in and swiped a group of Grimm away from some of the Fang Clan.
"I am Gawain the Fairy Knight! Her majesty has assigned me to fight alongside you! Now fight! For Gawain stands with you!" Gawain let out a rallying speech as both the Fang clan and the royal guards cheered before they once again charged against the tide of darkness. With Gawain leading the charge.
Both sides clashed once again as Gawain slashed through Grimm as if they were nothing to her before sending waves of fire that incinerated any Grimm hit by it. She then used her chains to bind several Nevermores in the skies before yanking them toward the ground before she cleaves them in two.
"Push forward!" She roared as he sliced through another Ursa with no issue as more cheers from the Faes were heard as they pushed forward.
While Gawain was busy on the ground, Lancelot was in the air sending beams of energy that pretty much vaporise any Grimm it hits as she swerves through while occasionally slicing through either Lancers or Nevermores in half. Lancelot then spots the jellyfish like Grimm before zipping straight for it, though it appears to be aware as it began to float deeper back into the lines as Grimm descended upon her.
Crackling magical energies gathered around Lancelot before she burst towards the Grimm seer with such speeds, that none of the Grimm could reach her in time before she snagged the Seer and dragged it off back to Morgan who stood there with Tristan by her side.
"Your Highness, I've brought you the Grimm you've requested." Lancelot said as the Seer in her hand shrieked and tried to fight back with its tentacles only for Lancelot to slice them off. Tristan could be heard scoffing at that thing that Lancelot brought in.
Morgan on the other hand, just walked towards the Seer and rested her hand on it as it struggled to get out of Lancelot's tight grip to no avail. As she peered into the seer, she could see another per- no, thing there, her skin was deathly pale with jet black sclera in her eyes, and glowing crimson irises. That thing had pale white hair and was bundled up between one larger bun with six offshoots wrapped together. Or at least that's what Morgan could see. The rest were covered in black and purple smoke of sorts.
Both women seemed to stare at each other for a couple of seconds before Morgan's eyes narrowed down before she crushed the Seer's crystal ball with an audible crack before releasing the Seer to dissolve.
"My Highness?" Lancelot then asked while keeping her head bowed.
"It appears that 'thing' is responsible for this Grimm infestation." Morgan deadpanned as she stared back at the battlefield which was turning in the Kingdom's favor thanks to Gawain helping the army out.
"Then what will you have us do mother?" Tristan then asked as Morgan went silent for a while.
…
"We'll push them back to where they came from, then we'll study this anomaly." Morgan said as she raised her hand into the skies a ball of energy appeared in her hand before it launched off into the skies. Seconds later, massive portals appear all over the battlefield as teal beams of pure magic rain down and decimate the Grimm left, right and center. While also keeping it from hitting her army.
"We are done now. Lancelot, inform Gawain to meet us back at the castle once she's done cleansing this place of Grimm." Morgan then spoke to her knight as she bowed.
"Of course, your highness." With that, Lancelot flew off as Morgan began to walk away.
As Morgan and her daughter began to walk away from the battlefield, a Fae knight ran up to her and kneeled. "My Queen, I've brought a message from the army sent to eliminate Oberon."
"I assume that shitty bug has been squashed?" She asked as she raised an eyebrow as said knight could be seen shivering in fear.
"Yes… My Queen, Oberon has been arrested and executed for treason against the crown."
"Good… You may go now." Morgan waved off the Fae as he ran off. No doubt fearing for his life.
"Should have let me have the chance to play with him, mother. Then kill him." Tristan made an off comment as Morgan looked at her daughter.
"Perhaps that's a better fate for him. Perhaps…"
And we are done!
So, whatcha think of this chapter, eh? Like that cliff-hanger? I have REALLY GOOD IDEAS and this chapter brought up a couple.
So, now Jeanne is working with the Ace Ops to track down another person that I'm sure you would all know quite well. And oh boy I can't wait for the interaction of those two right there.
Next is the interaction between Mordred and part of team SSSN, RWBY enjoying tea at where EMIYA is working at, as well as Ozpin's thoughts and reactions after Mordred's botched attempt to secure the Spring Maiden's powers.
Lastly, Morgan cliff-hanger, I honestly doubt most of you would have seen that coming but yea do it as you will. Oh yea, I want your thoughts. Do you prefer it if I release each chapter at 6k, 7k or 8k words? Let me know in the reviews cos I wish to stabilize how much I should write for each chapter.
