Hey guys! RGQC here with another chapter for you lovely people out there! And I hope you will continue to show your support as I encourage me to get more content out for you guys! Besides that, time for comments.
NoXIV: Glad you enjoyed it! As for adding additional servants into this story? I got some ideas that will soon show up.
SkyChaser17: Well… yea? Mordred would get some help eventually if that's what you're concerned about and the fact that Morgan is more concerned at maintaining her rule over Britain so I doubt she would invade Remnant unless forced to. Though… that might change...
Furukawa023: This Britain is not a full Lostbelt in a way… More like partially?
Zekken182: Morgan does not negotiate. She rules!
975894247: In what way?
Tatito062695: Good.
Guest-Questioner: Thanks! As for Jeanne, well… this is awkward. I have plans for Ironwood as well as the Spec-Ops. Emiya is doing good himself indeed. Though that would change once Mordred reaches Vale or something else gets involved. As for Mordred, Sun and Neptune, should I do a mini omake of these three and their shenanigans?
Gamingfury6124: Do not worry. I have no intention of letting our dear RWBY characters become masters. I doubt they have the energy to sustain any of them. Making them bound to them would limit what they could do. Or at least that's how I feel about it.
Kadzuki Kurokami: No spoilers from me! Also, you do know that Atalanta and Jeanne would most likely never get along after what they both went through huh? As for Spartacus? I'm not sure whether I should include him. Time will tell.
Alexander of the imperial Fist: I am indeed glad that my writing skills have improved throughout this story! And thanks for sticking by!
Onxio: Our dear MC in his past life likes to tease his siblings and friends. Mordred still unconsciously sees himself as a male. So, our MC is just poking fun at the cost of Sun. No sexual attraction involved. Just Mordred being himself.
Triscythe59: Bringing Seig in? Perhaps… I need time to think about it.
FailedKeikaku: Aw… That suck. Oh well, I wish ya the best of luck!
Joker13455: Glad you enjoyed this story! And I agree with you that many people just treat her like another girl in some shipping. After all, Mordred's history is quite interesting indeed from her youth till her death at the hands of her father. Mordred to me seemed like a person who acts without thinking of the consequences. Of course, our dear OC Mordred will learn from it. Hopefully.
Ptl: Yea, the portal connecting Remnant to Lostbelt Britain could be good or bad depending how I handle it. (Hopefully I pull it off.) And I agree that Nasu upped up the crapsackness of the Lostbelts. And related to the Faes themselves. If I'm right, the stories of the Fairies in our world depict them as tricksters and liars. (Not the Disney one's mind you.) The fact that the Faes in the Fate are shown to have no sense of self-preservation or basic compassion except for a few, means that they would kill you just because they think it's funny or without care as to how important you are. If they want it, they will do it. Damn the consequences even if it cost them their lives.
Lethalbacon13: Never! There will be more Fou in the future! FOU!
As for those who were asking about whether Oberon is actually dead or not, well… he won't be appearing in this story, for good reason too. If he's around well, both worlds would be fucked. So, I have to remove him. Of course, this is Oberon we're talking about he could still get away after all and show up later. I'll leave it to you guys if Oberon is truly dead or not.
As for Chaldea, I'm honestly not so sure myself. Bringing them in would REALLY complicate the story as a whole and I'm not even sure that I could handle or pull it off without it delving into a mess that makes no sense at all. But I suppose I could leave it in the back of my mind just in case…
With that out of the way, let's not waste any more time.
I do not own RWBY or any of the Fate series. All of them belong to their respective owners as such.
Chapter 9
Investigation
In the middle of the night, five individuals could be seen walking through the slums of Mantle as they made their way towards their intended investigation site in the hopes of catching the person responsible for all these murder cases. Yet, even though it wasn't obvious from the start, neither the ace ops nor Jeanne trusted each other even though they both were hunting for the same person.
And rightfully so.
For Jeanne, their intervention would be most helpful but she doubted that they would potentially get themselves killed if this perpetrator is who she thinks was. After all, she had doubts whether they could stand up against servants like her. But they are an elite group after all so perhaps they stood a chance. Maybe. And then there's the fact that the ace ops only obey the general of Atlas and it's highly likely that they would report her as well as the target they're looking for.
As for the ace ops, their newest help is a strange one indeed, from her overall outfit to her weapon which was basically a flag on a pole. There's also the fact that she was also investigating as to who caused those murder cases even though the ones getting killed most likely deserve their fate for child trafficking, it is preferable to at least take them alive and put them on trial instead of straight up butchering them on the spot from what they had seen so far.
Then there's the fact that 'Ruler' at least, that what she called herself, had a hunch as to who was responsible. Does she know the perpetrator personally? It is wise to take her in once they're done with this investigation. No doubt the general would be interested in her.
But as they walked through the empty streets in the slums, Marrow was the first of the ace ops to speak after their initial discussion.
"Sooo… guys, do you think our target would be there?" He asked as he rubbed his head."
"Most likely, if we're judging from the fact that our target seems to focus on child traffickers. No doubt that person would interrogate or torture those guys for information as to where they'll all are hiding." Harriet responded with her arms folded.
"While also giving them a rather painful death it seems." Elm added in.
"That's enough guys, based on the information we've got, we should be able to reach there in about 5 minutes or so." Clover added in when Jeanne stopped in her tracks as her eyes widened.
All of the ace ops noticed it and they too came to a stop while giving her curious looks.
"Ruler? Is something wrong?" Clover then asked as Marrow behind him tilted his head in confusion.
Ruler seemed to snap out of her daze before addressing everyone else. "It was nothing. Let's keep going." She waved them off before she resumed walking.
The ace ops were unaware that Jeanne for a couple of seconds, sensed the presence of another servant in the vicinity and it's heading straight for the trafficker's hideout. Even more so that the magical signature is familiar… Is it Atalanta? Last she remembered, Rider of Red or Achilles, fought against Atalanta in her place while she went off to confront Shirou. But Atalanta's magical signature is…
Different somehow. As if it's not her in a way.
As they approached another abandoned warehouse, there were the sounds of screams of terror as well as gunfire could be heard from within the building itself. Even more obvious was the corpses of several armed men at the front of the door itself. All of them were clearly pinned to the walls with arrows all over their body and were clearly dead before they even had time to react.
"Looks like we've arrived just in time. Orders Clover?" Elm then asked her leader as the ace ops as well as Jeanne brandish their weapons for combat.
Clover could only look at Jeanne before both of them gave a nod to each other. "We're going in slowly and carefully, Ruler and I will take the front, Elm, I want you to have the honours of breaking down those doors. Marrow, you're in charge of checking every room and rescue any children you encounter. Harriet, your job is to knock out anyone you see and arrest them. Do you all understand?" Clover then gave orders as the rest of the ace ops saluted.
"Yes sir!" The rest of the ace ops responded in kind as Elm walked up toward the door that was locked before kicking it open. What's inside could be summarised as a slaughter. Corpses could be seen littering the rooms of the warehouse, at the same time, the sound of shouting as well as gunfire could be heard not too far and it's coming from the main storage room.
As they pushed through the recent slaughter, they encountered another locked door which Elm quickly broke through and what they found inside was a group of children in cages, as well as an extremely terrified child trafficker who in fact, looked like she's going to pass out any moment now.
"What?! The police are her-" She blurted out halfway before she was quickly knocked out by Harriet punching her in the face. Marrow could also be seen rushing to the cages and began to break them open, though it was obvious that the children in the cages looked traumatised by what had happened to them and began to cry loudly. Jeanne, seeing them suffering from their trauma, could only walk up to them to assure them.
"There there… It's ok… Everything's going to be fine from now on, and we're going to get you back to your parents." Jeanne assured them as she took one of the children's hands onto her own and gave a reassuring smile. And it worked. With the power of C rank Charisma, the children began to calm down rapidly.
"Really? I can see mummy again?" One of the caged children who possessed small horns on her head spoke out with hope.
"Yes. Now be a good girl and stay quiet, ok? We're going to rescue the others." Jeanne made a request as the girl nodded back.
"Please help them, there are others in the rooms ahead." The oldest of the bunch gave a tip as Jeanne and the others ran off as Marrow got to work freeing them.
"Never knew that you could do that so easily." Harriet mutters loud enough for Jeanne to hear as the remaining ace ops as well as Jeanne head straight to the main storage room.
"My apologies, but what do you mean l did that so easily?" Jeanne then asked as she raised an eyebrow.
"Well normally when we have to deal with children, we'd have a hard time calming them down yet you immediately calmed them down with no issue." Clover then pointed out.
"Oh. I suppose that is true." Jeanne's cheeks flared up slightly as all four of them reached the main storage room door as they could still hear the fighting going on. Jeanne could sense Atalanta's magical signature up ahead and just beyond that room.
"Elm if you please." Clover commented as Elm nodded.
"Right!" Elm said as she smashed the door open before the stench of fresh blood came at them full force. More shadowed bodies could be seen all over the place as someone in armour with large horns on her shoulder pads could barely be seen in the dark. Said user could also be seen wielding a bow in her hand as it glows in purple alongside her armour.
"Please! Just let me go! I beg of you! I won't- ACK!" The last survivor of the traffickers begged for his life only for this mysterious person to pick him up by the shirt and slam him against the wall.
"You think you could get away with trafficking children?! There's no saving you! Die!" She howled before she did something that caught everyone that was watching her off guard. She proceeded to sink her teeth into his neck and then ripping the trafficker's windpipe out right before spitting it onto the floor.
"What in the goddamn?" Harriet's eyes were wide open from shock.
"That's… messed up." That's the only words that utter out from Elm's mouth as she too could only react with shock. Clover on the other hand, just gave a silent response but his hands were trembling.
Jeanne on the other could only wonder what had happened to Atalanta, did something happen to her? And then it hit her, this Atalanta probably still has the Pelt of the Calydonian Boar inside her. That would explain her beast-like state she's in; this makes things even more complicated now that she's in Remnant.
Unfortunately, Harriet and Elm's whispering alerted their target to their presence as she turned to face them with an arrow already notched and the bow string drawn while still in the dark before she let it loose towards Elm, only for Jeanne to intercept it without hesitation.
*TING*
"Crap! That nearly hit me! Thanks!" Elm yelps out as she retreated out of view and into cover.
The arrow bounced off Jeanne's flag before getting stuck on the floor. Clover on the other hand, ran out from cover and hit the lights switch so that he and everyone else could get a good look at the person responsible for firing at Jeanne.
As the lights came on, the ace ops (minus Marrow) as well as Jeanne could now see the figure wearing armour all over her body except for her torso for some reason, her hair was greyish with a tinge some other colour the author couldn't tell, of which two lion ears sticking out of her head. She also possesses yellow eyes and also has pale skin, some sort of tattoo that glows underneath her bellybutton as well as two white tails could be seen sticking out behind her. Besides that, she was also covered in blood.
"That's… not a normal Faunus…" Harriet was the first to speak out upon seeing her.
"What kind of Faunus is she?" Elm was next to join in.
"Archer?" Jeanne could only mumble out at seeing someone familiar but with a totally different outfit, but that was not the right words to say as Archer or now technically berserker, became aware at Jeanne before her face contorts to one of confusion at first.
"You know her? Clover then could only ask before Atalanta's face then changed to one of rage.
"Yea…"
"Ruler? Ruler?! RULER!" Atalanta howled with rage before she jumped onto one of the nearby crates before drawing another arrow before letting loose towards Jeanne who dodged to the side.
"Everyone! Support Ruler and arrest her!" Clover yelled out before pulling out his fishing pole weapon. Understandably, Ruler was absolutely confused at the fact that the leader of the ace ops used a fishing pole as a weapon. Harriet could then be seen using her semblance to get in closer before swinging a punch at Atalanta while Elm could be seen rushing in and repositioning herself.
Atalanta however saw the attack coming and dodged to the side before sending a roundabout kick that caught Harriet by surprise before she was sent flying towards some crates with an audible crash.
*CRASH! *
"Harriet!" Elm called out her teammate as Atalanta could be seen howling like a rabid beast as she leaped straight for Jeanne before crying out. "MONSTER! MURDERER! I WILL KILL YOU FOR WHAT YOU'VE DONE!" Atalanta then griped the her bow before swinging full force at Jeanne who could only buckle from the impact as she blocked it.
"Ruler! What the hell does she mean by that?" Clover could only ask Jeanne as he tried to help her to no avail as Atalanta kicked him aside.
"Archer! Snap out of it! You're not thinking straight!" Jeanne called out only for Atalanta to continue to growl at her. "Do not call me that!" She cried out before sending a punch to her midriff that send Ruler flying back and onto the walls.
"Ruler!" Elm swung her hammer directly at Atalanta but she just grabbed it like it was nothing before she savagely backhands her in the face before charging at Jeanne again.
Harriet then appeared in front of her and sent a volley of punches enhance by her semblance, though it was obvious that those hits land on her, Atalanta doesn't seem so bother by it as she proceeds to grab Harriet in the face and slam her into the ground before she attempted to swing her bow towards her neck.
"No you don't!" Clover countered Atalanta's attack when he used his fishing pole to yank Atalanta's bow away from her hands thanks to his luck semblance. (Seriously, I wish I could have that. Would be quite helpful.)
"What?!"
With Atalanta distracted, Harriet recovered just in time to send a hard punch directly to her face as it sends her flying back, Jeanne, who finally managed to reorient herself, finally joined in as she jumped up and with her flag in hand, slammed Atalanta onto the floor before stabbing her right in the midriff. Much of the ace ops were surprised that Ruler was actually doing damage to her or the fact that she doesn't have aura, even when Harriet gave all those punches to her, it doesn't look like it did any damage to her, only a couple of bruises from what they could see.
"Arg, aargh!" Atalanta cried out in pain when Jeanne stabbed her before she kicked Jeanne off of her and dashed off a distance away with her bow in hand. "I'll chew you up for that Ruler!" Atalanta growled as she notched another arrow into her bow while complete ignoring the fact that she now has a stab wound. The arrow Atalanta has in her hand, suddenly was engulfed in purple-black energies before she let it fly at Clover at such speeds that no one had time to react.
The arrow finds it's mark as it strikes Clover in the shoulder as it ignores his aura completely, much to the ace ops surprise. "Clover!" Both Harriet and Elm yelled in concern as to their leader wellbeing who was on the ground, as both of them ran to check on his health.
"Tch, I was aiming for his heart." Atalanta scoffed as Jeanne then thrust her flag directly towards her chest before she blocked it just in time.
"Guess I got lucky then." Clover couldn't help but joke before groaning in pain as Elm picked him up.
"I'll get him out of here, you go help Ruler." Elm told Harriet as she picked up Clover and rested his arm over her shoulder before walking off with him. Harriet could only nod in response as both Ruler and Archer, from what Ruler had called her, could be seen trading blows at each other, Archer could also be seen screaming her head off like some maniac about her being a murderer and how she's going to kill her.
Jeanne could be seen swiping Atalanta off her feet before slamming her flag down on Atalanta's face. Though it appears that Atalanta had enough as she rolled away before she was suddenly covered in black-purple flames. What was once Atalanta was replaced with a massive boar with black fur as well as purplish flames and tattoos all over its body.
"What on Ohm is that thing?! Is that her semblance?!" Harriet could only yellow out in shock.
"No. Something worse." Jeanne could only respond as the Calydonian Boar let out a squeal before charging straight for Jeanne who dodged aside.
"Aim for the eyes! And avoid getting hit at all cost!" Jeanne ordered as she attempted to pierce the boar's eyes only for it to let out an angry squeal and bashed Jeanne like a ragdoll before it attempted to trample Jeanne under its massive hoofs.
"Ruler!" Harriet exclaimed as she watched as the massive beast brought its massive hoofs down upon Ruler.
*BOOM*
However, it never got the chance to crush Ruler as a rocket came out from nowhere and strike directly at the side of its face, sending it to the side and just barely missed Jeanne's head. Elm could then be seen walking in with a rocket launcher in her hand which understandably boggles Jeanne to no end.
"Did her hammer just changed into a launcher?" Jeanne wondered before she rolled away from the Calydonian Boar which let out a pissed off squeal and attempted to charge into the fray once again, but then, a voice could be heard from one of the windows.
"Berserker."
The voice who could be heard as everyone, including the Calydonian Boar looked up at one of the windows and noticed that there's someone else there, though her tone was deadpan. It's obvious that she knows Atalanta. The Boar seem to acknowledged the newcomer when it let out a snort before it was consumed by black-purple flames once again.
Atalanta could then be seen again among the flames as she stood up but now, she has blood dripping down half her face, no doubt it originated when Elm fired a rocket at her. "Assassin. Why are you here?"
"Our lord has a mission for us. You are to come with me." The newcomer spoke to Atalanta before her eyes narrow down on Jeanne. "Leave them alone for now. Our mission assigned by our lord takes priority."
"Tch! Fine! Ruler, I'm not done with you yet! This won't the last time you see me Ruler!" Atalanta growled as she bares her fangs and pointed at Jeanne. She then jumped up towards Assassin and left with her through the window.
While the situation calmed down, in Jeanne's head she was now genially confused, when she looked at Assassin, thanks to her ability, Jeanne could decern that that is Katou Danzou. Though she mentions about a lord, just who is she serving? And by the way Atalanta reacted, they most likely have the same master, also most likely are not like a rogue servant like Saber of Red from what she could guessed.
"So, this case is deeper than I thought. Just who were those people?"
Jeanne snapped out of her thoughts to see Clover approaching her with bandages wrapped around the arrow embedded in his shoulder. Elm and Harriet also could be seen behind him and both have expressions demanding answers.
"I'll explain to you later, we got children to save."
…
"You know what, how about you follow us to HQ later? I think its best you explain it to us and the General. We will accommodate to your needs as well, and after tonight? I think its best you come with us. I think you know more of what's going on than anyone here."
Jeanne gave a pause to think about it. If she were to come with them, she could inform the General as to the threats that are on the horizon, even more now that it was obvious that some of these servants have a master. On the other hand, going to them means that she could never return to hiding after today. But she has to do it judging by the fact that the ace ops are having trouble dealing with Atalanta alone.
Jeanne gave an understanding nod. "Very well, I'll come with you. By the way, are you alright?" Jeanne asked with concern at the arrow wound that Clover suffered.
"Yea. I'm fine. Though this got more completed."
"Hm. Agreed."
"Hey guys! Whoa, what did I missed?" Marrow final arrives after the battle is over as Elm lets out a sigh and a facepalm.
Mordred POV
After meeting up with Sun and Neptune earlier as well as overthinking myself in the process, I've finally found a job for me to do, it involves me getting leaving Mistral and head to a point designated on the map on my scroll. It appears that a convoy had gotten lost and that was the last known location before they lost contact. Why are they not asking for Huntsmen to do the job?
Well, it turns out that there's a lack of Huntsmen, I suspect that Lionheart was responsible for that, and he must had already gotten a bunch killed already before he disappeared. Good thing I stopped his attempts to get more huntsmen killed to keep his miserable existence around for much longer.
…
Again, with the Mordred talking. Another reminder that I'm losing myself.
Anyways, because of it, I have to get there via my motorbike and in my combat outfit and all. Hours have already passed since I've left Mistral and by that time it was already getting dark and like hell I'm driving in the middle of the night and in a forest. Too risky for my taste, and not like I'm afraid of the dark of anything, it's just that I can't see shit.
And with that, I've decided to set up a campsite near a river, campfire and everything. Good thing I got a book as to how to set up a campsite before I left. Even though I had experience back on Earth, I wouldn't mind some help just in case. After all, having a camp alone in Remnant is different than on Earth. And it's a whole new experience for me.
Alone and in the dark. I must be getting paranoid; but I swear I saw something looking at me in the forest. Waving that thought out of my head, I went to sleep early as I have full intention to reach the destination by tomorrow. But it appears that fate has other plans for me as the next moment, I woke up in a strange place.
The world is divided to say the least. Half the world is replaced with a bright light that stings my eyes, while the other is just pure darkness. As if I was staring into the void itself. Its… unnerving to say the least.
"Where the hell am I?" I questioned out loud as I got off the floor without my sleeping bag.
"Ah, she's finally awake." Some patronizing voice could be heard as I immediately went into high alert and tried to summon my armour and sword, but nothing happened. I was stuck in my combat outfit without my weapons with me.
"What the?! Show yourself!" I demanded as the world seem to heed it, in a flash of both light and darkness, the brother gods appeared before me. What the hell? The brother gods here?! The gods of Remnant and the reason as to why the world of Remnant is so shitty?! Why did they summon me? Is it to interrogate me? Or…
"It appears we may have overwhelmed her brother, though I suppose it should be expected from such interesting beings that do not belong on Remnant…" The God of Darkness spoke first with the same patronizing voice as he seemed to carry.
"Refrain from calling me a girl, and I know of both of you, so why did you bring me here?"
"We're both aware that a certain being that brought you and several others to Remnant despite our attempts to stop him, And the fact that there's something else making its presence known in it." The God of light then spoke next. First of all. Fuck, they both know of the presence of Servants. Second, they're aware of the second threat to humanity. But knowing them, they won't do fuck all.
Probably.
"But compared to the other being whose memories we both peered into, which was quite interesting in fact, they all have experienced different things in their lives, but yours was the strangest, we found two memories, slowly merging into one. What are you exactly?"
When the God of Darkness uttered those words, my face paled up, and rightly so. They are aware that I'm an anomaly, and the only reason I'm her was because of that fucking vampire. I wasn't aware at that time but my body was trembling slowly, it wasn't obvious but a sharp eye could tell that I was internally freaking out.
"I'm… just someone who got dragged into this mess… by that bloody vampire." I hesitantly uttered out as the God of Light tilted his head in interest.
"Is that so?" He hummed.
"Yea if, you're aware of us, then why are you not doing anything to save your 'creations'?" I questioned them as I took a step forward.
"We can't"
"What?" What do they mean they can't?
"After what we had done, and after year of self-thought, we come to the conclusion that we gods should not meddle in mortal affairs or else we could make the mistakes we did with Ozma and Salem." The God of Light then spoke next. Salem seeks to end the world, but they seek to stop Zelretch instead. Talk about shitty priorities. Speaking of Zelretch, what's his goal of sending Servants to Remnant? It can't be to save it, I must be missing something here…
"You do not trust him, do you?" No shit captain obvious! I swear, they're reading my thoughts as if I'm a book to them.
"And I do not trust you as well." I stated as I folded my arms.
"What will you do now?" The God of Darkness asked with curiosity.
"I was summoned on Remnant with one purpose, to save humanity from those who threaten it. I'll do everything in my power to prevent the humanity from falling from whatever threatens it."
"Even Salem who is unkillable?" The God of Light added in.
"Yea, even her, since there are others like me all over Remnant, there's a chance I'll encounter one that can kill immortals. Though it small, there's still a chance. Either that, or I'll find a way to lock her away." I admitted as the gods themselves look satisfied at my answer.
"I've seen enough, I believe it's time we send you back."
"So what? You just sit on your asses and watch other people clean up your mess?" Both gods then stared at me as I winched slightly after I realised what I had just called them.
…
Yea... I probably shouldn't have said that to their faces.
"Yes." The God of Darkness responded after a while of awkward silence.
…
"Ok… then. Just send me back." I have to admit, the fact that they allowed me to go after I bluntly insulting them to their faces about their mess is rather strange. Do they have their own plans?
I hope not…
Next thing I knew it was already early in the morning as the sun had just started to rise. "Great, now I got the brother god watching over me, not that I already have a vampire keeping an eye on my progress. I guess time will tell." With that, I dismantle my camp and continue to make my way towards the last known location of the convey. Unaware that I would meet another familiar face at the sight.
Ozpin POV
Ozpin was back in his own office at beacon doing his own office work, but his mind couldn't help but think as to what to talk about as soon as both Qrow and Tai would come. One major issue is Yang Xiao Long. Tai's daughter. From what Qrow had told him years ago, Yang once tried to search for any clues as to her mother's location and nearly got herself and her sister killed if it wasn't for Qrow. Yet that didn't stop her.
After all. He wonders if he should reveal to Yang that her mother is at the hospital and in a coma. But doing that would no doubt cause more trouble as would most likely demand what happened to her. Then there also the fact that Yang may go on a crusade to search for the one who put her mother in a coma.
Then there's the fact of what to do with her if she ever woke up. Would she just leave them again and return back to her tribe? Maybe? But if she were to ever try it, they would be alerted to it. And Leon, his second took over as headmaster of Haven Academy, and he had brought some disturbing news as soon as Ozpin returned back to his office.
Apparently, they managed to get the audio clip of Leon's office the night before he stopped responding. When Ozpin asked for the visual clip of his office, his second said that the camera was under repair at the time, so the audio clip is their only clue as what had caused Leon to go radio silent. When Ozpin asked if he review the clip, he said no as he believed that only the other headmasters deserve to know what happened.
It was then that the elevator rang and opened up to show Glynda entering into the office alongside Tai and Qrow. Ozpin then, with his palm open, pointed at the chairs in front of him as Glynda moved beside him. Knowing what Ozpin meant, both men took their seats as Ozpin then finally spoke.
"Tai, Qrow, how are feeling now?" He asked as Qrow opened up his canteen and took a sip.
"Don't know about you Oz, but I'm sure that you have something to share with us, yea?" Qrow then asked as Ozpin nodded back.
"Tai?" Ozpin then spoke again.
"I'm… fine Ozpin. It's been a while since I've seen Raven. I'll make it."
"Good, while you're getting yourself ready, I got something to share with you." Ozpin continued before he took a sip of his coco. "It's related to Lionheart and his disappearance."
"Something related to Leon?" Glynda then gave her superior a raised eyebrow as Ozpin nodded in response.
"Yes, this audio clip I'm going to play takes place in midnight. Unfortunately, they couldn't get visual clips, so we're have to rely on this." And with that, Ozpin pressed a button on his table and it began to play out.
"This can't be right… no no no. The reports can't find the person with the same blood sample as the one we found? This doesn't make any sense… just who is that person?" Leon's voice could be heard, as everyone paid attention to it, when suddenly there was the sound of glass breaking as well as grunting and someone getting slammed on the table and the floor.
"Someone attacked him through the window?" Tai muttered out as now they heard a feminine voice at the other end.
"Don't move, or I'll snap your neck like a twig! This is your first and only warning." It was then followed by the sound of Leon chocking on something.
Qrow could then be seen rubbing his head as if he was trying to remember something as Ozpin paused it and looked at his loyal supporter. "Qrow, do you know that voice?"
"No, it's nothing, continue on Oz." Qrow rubbed it off as Ozpin hit the play button again.
"Excellent. Before we do anything else, let's get rid of unwanted listeners." As they listen to the audio recording, there was a period of silence before an audible crack could be heard followed by the sound of something screeching and dying.
"What was that?" Glynda then asked as Ozpin narrowed his eyes. As the sound of struggling coming within the clip itself become more audible and hectic. The feminine voice could then be heard again.
"Now that we don't have any more peering ears on us, now we can talk. First of all," It was then followed by the sound of Leon getting slammed onto something as the unknown person spoke again. "You will hand over your pocket watch or I'll break every bone in your body slowly and painfully until you give it to me!"
"Whoever this girl is, she sounds like a brute." Glynda could only mutter out as Tai then took over.
"Pocket watch? Why would she need it?" He asked as Ozpin's eyes widen which everyone noticed.
"Oz?" Qrow then asked as Ozpin took over. "The key to the Vault of the Spring Maiden…"
"So that's person got the key to the Spring Maiden's vault, that explains much, and how I ended up in there." Qrow muttered as the sound of Leon gasping for air before his voice could be heard.
"W-ho-Who are you? What are you?!" He gasped for breath as the other voice took over. "Someone who needs to do what needs to be done. And why did I do that? You sold your life to someone who would dispose of you when your usefulness wears out. After all, you had already sent several huntsmen to their deaths, am I right?" The voice pointed out.
"He did not…" Tai was understandably shock as was everyone else that Leon sentences several huntsmen to their deaths, but Ozpin was affected the most. Did Leon betray them to Salem?
"I… I… I have-" Leon could be heard before the sound of someone kicking followed by the sound of crashing. "Silence! I did not ask for excuses, did I?!" The voice roared out as she continued.
"Do me a favour, keep quiet as to what happened here or else, well…" There was a short pause before she could be heard again. "This blade is going to separate your head from your shoulders, so do me a favour and shut your mouth, got it?" What followed next was the sound of crackling energy before it became silent except for the panicked breathing of Lionheart.
"I got to get out of here! There's no way I can stay here! She'll kill me!" Then then the audio clip ends, with everyone else trying to process what they'd had just heard. Ozpin could only take out his glasses and pinched his nose as he thought through it.
"Ozpin?"
Within the Evernight Castle, Salem could only think about what she had saw weeks after it. That woman she saw through the seer. She had never sensed so much magical power radiating from her. And those eyes of hers, she had never seen one so empty, as if the person staring at her is so broken and so… robotic.
Salem honestly doubts that she could deal with her alone judging by the fact that, whoever that person was, she had three knights that seemed to slaughter Grimm with relatively no issue. Each of them could take on hundreds of Grimm and win without a single scratch on them. And one of them can fly at such speeds that she doubts she had anything that she had that could stop her.
Salem had to wonder to herself, how could she use this new wild card to her advantage? The power balance of Remnant with this new wildcard all suggest that, should they decide to march into Remnant and conquer it, there's not much they could do to resist it. And not much she could do. Salem needs more information on this new threat to her plans.
Perhaps she could get them on her side an-.
Wait a minute, someone's here.
Salem brought her head up from and gaze around the room she's in and through her Seers, yet, they spot nothing in their way, but Salem had her suspicion that someone or something had infiltrated her castle. That suspicions proved correct when two individuals opened the main door to her conference hall and walked right in.
One looked like she originated from Mistral and looked human enough, but her limbs and her eyes suggest that she's not human to begin with. The other one, looked more beast than human by the fact that she possesses lion ears as well as two tails, she also wears the strangest choice of armour Salem have ever seen. Her torso is completely exposed as well as the unusually large shoulder pads that has a horn in it. She also possesses a bow in her hand.
Salem could sense the magical power coursing through them, its familiar to the one she sensed weeks ago. Yet a part of her felt that something's not right, there's some sort of magical necklace around the neck of one of them.
"Who are you and why do you come before me?" Salem asked as the unwelcomed guest stopped walking. The one which wore a Mistrial inspired clothing spoke first in a robotic tone.
"Abomination. You are to cease your assault through the portal with your 'Grimm', or face the wrath of the Winter queen. Failure to accept her demand and you will be destroyed. Accept it and she will hold onto her word and spare you." Danzou her Morgan's demand as Atalanta just folded her arms as she stares at Salem like a predator.
"And who are you to make demands of me?" Salem challenged them as she stood up. It's fortunate that her agents were busy out in Remnant as she doubts that they could survive against them just based on the magical power within them.
"Our lord only desires to dismantle the anomaly that binds this world to hers. And she will do what's necessary to close it permanently. Even if she must march into this world herself." Danzou continued on without no fear in her voice as Atalanta's ears were twitching before she drew her bow and aimed it directly at Salem.
"However, in order for her to do that, all hostile forces must be eliminated before studying can commence. Unless you yield and pull your beast away from the anomaly, you will be targeted for elimination." Danzou made her demands as Atalanta pulled the sting of her bow as the arrow was quickly engulfed in black-purple fire.
Salem could only narrow her eyes on the intruders that so blazingly made their demands clear to her. But one thing that boggles them is how did they find her? Or more accurately, how did they reach here without getting detected at all? They must have infiltrators in Remnant itself already.
"And what do you think would happen should the world itself be alerted to your lord's world?"
"Then she will dominate them as well if necessary." Danzou responded before a horde of Grimm came from behind them and surrounded the intruders. Though it appears that they don't look so bothered about it as the one in armour finally spoke.
"It appears that she's made her choice it seems, I'd prefer if we can go back now Assassin. My fight with Ruler must be resolved!" It was obvious that she was irritated and impatient at all this talking but at least she put down the bow.
Ruler? Assassin? Is that their name? No, must be not their true name.
"It does appear to be that Berserker. We will be leaving now." The one speaking gave a short bow, and with that, both in vanished from Salem's view in an instant. Yet she can't help but be on guard, especially the one that had a magical necklace around her neck. Salem could only rest back on her throne and began to think plans. If this wild card launches a full scale- wait, what's that?
I will not tolerate you.
I will not save you.
Merely Obey.
Bow Your Head.
There is no fear, nor there is hope.
Simply, die like a sinner.
Split the heavens and tether the earth.
None shall pass.
Rhogomyniad!
And in an instant, Salem and her castle were blown up alongside a chunk of the Land of Darkness in a fiery explosion of blue.
And we are done with this chapter! And we got stuff to talk about! First of all, I wonder if anyone expected Nyalter to show up instead of Archer Atalanta and the conflict that occur. I wonder if I pulled her personally well.
Next is the Brother Gods appearing and their talk with Mordred. After all, they would be aware of what Zelretch and their 'insistence' on not intervening in the shit they created. I'll be honest, with the both of them aware of what Zelretch was doing, it only makes sense that they would be curious of Servants in general. After all, they never existed on Remnant before.
Next is Ozpin talk with his group and their attempts to find out why Leon went silent as well as them trying to piece together on who 'took' the relic. Unaware that Mordred returned it. And also realizing that Leon betrayed them.
I got a question for ya all. If you were to suddenly ended up on Remnant somehow, what servant would you bring along with you? No realty breaking servants pls, they too broken. I'd bring Ana because she best girl and also fuck Salem.
