Hey guys! I'm back with another chapter of this story! I'd honestly hope that you enjoyed the Omake in the previous chapter because we're returning to where we left off! I do have some rather disappointing news to share at the end of this chapter but, let me address some comments before we start with this chapter.
Crankymcgranky: Yes… I admit, my knowledge of the Nasuverse could use some work and I really should dig in for every single information before coming to a conclusion. Besides that, thanks! I wanted to give it a satisfying end and I'm happy to see it achieved.
BlindAsABat95: Yea, Ushi is a cute bloody badass though a bit unstable when it comes to fighting, but yea, having her assistance would be beneficial indeed for Ruby and gang.
Taken96: I'm fully aware of that, and similar to the above comment, I really need to work on my information of the Nasuverse. I know Ana, aka Lancer medusa can kill immortals with her scythe. But also, black keys can also do the job and kill immortals.
Gamma-X: I've addressed it? Now they will still say the chapter, but will now state that it's an Omake. Hopefully that works out, because it is going to be tedious as all hell if I have to change every single chapter slightly to get it correct. But I'm glad you enjoyed it nonetheless. Also, Souji Okita, eh? Understandable.
Frankieu: Oh, that's a big yes indeed. Everyone would be looking for her since she has the Spring maiden powers. Assuming I actually made it an actual story.
D. : It's more of me doing it on purpose, as I wanted to have more drama and stuff. And what better way to have drama than having our main protagonist having an identity crisis. I'm just using Zelretch as a scapegoat and excuse to do it.
Guest: Wow… Understandable, RWBY canon needs some serious reworking with the story. Some parts just, rubs me the wrong way as well as them sometimes gripping the idiot ball moments. But thanks for the compliments.
Peroroncino: Rude. But here it is!
Guest 2: Yes. The overall lore of Honkai Impact and Arknights are one of my favourites indeed and I would regularly dig through it in my spare time. As for your question… I would prefer to be in the world of Konosuba! The place is just more light hearted in general and won't be stressful. As for who I would pick, it may sound weird, but I would pick assassin class Grey as her Mystic Code which would give her a wide selection of weaponry choices. Of course, I would have to deal with it yapping all the time. But I'll manage. I think. Shit now it makes me want to make a Konosuba Fate SI crossover…
Reynard9234: Yes. Not canon.
Jaclea: Bruh, I can imagine someone making a speed run fic in a way of killing Cinder and taking the maiden powers for themselves.
Also, the last chapter's Omake, some of you guys voiced it out that you want it to become a real story. It's flattering to me but I'm sure someone out there will eventually make it a reality. Or perhaps a challenge for someone out there to do it. Who knows?
And we're done with all the reviews I wish to address. Let us begin with this chapter.
Like with my other stories and this one, I do not own RWBY or any of the Fate series. All of them belong to their respective owners as such.
Chapter 15
Revelations and Brewing Shadows
Things were calm in the morning at Vale. Well… except currently in the hospital with Ozpin, Glynda, Tai and Qrow who are currently walking towards a private room that happens to house Raven. Who had recently woken up the night before.
To say that the atmosphere was tense was an understatement. She has been docile the night she woke up, but how would it work out now that she's awake? Ozpin could only wonder if she would run off again like she did before? No, she wouldn't do that. Since Glynda came to him the night before that she needed to speak to him, Glynda also took the time to call both Qrow and Tai who immediately dropped what they were doing and came over.
Ozpin already has a rough idea as to what the topic was going to be about. A certain blond girl with green eyes called Saber. Now with Raven awake, they all could get some exact answers as to her. But a part of him fears it. He and his friend Ironwood had already come to the conclusion that Saber was not human. Perhaps Raven could confirm whether Saber was exactly the one that mortally wounded her.
By then, they had all reached Raven's room as Ozpin turned to Tai and Qrow. "We are here, I'd advise you not to aggravate her. From what you had said Qrow, Raven had seen the face who had done it to her, we need all the information we can get."
"Yea yea, I'm not too pleased to see Rae anytime soon." Qrow muttered out as he drank from his canteen.
"I'm still upset about seeing her again, Ozpin, but I'll manage." Tai just folded his arms as Glynda just nodded and opened the door. They all walked into something they had never seen before on Raven, except Glynda. Raven looked much paler than before, as if she's just woken up from a nightmare. And she has this terrified expression on her face.
"Raven Branwen, it is good to see you in better health." Ozpin spoke up as Raven turned her head to face the headmaster, she left all those years ago.
"Ozpin, I see you got my message." Ozpin just nodded as Glynda walked in which was followed by Qrow who then leaned on the wall near the door. Tai then made his appearance to his ex-wife and the overall atmosphere dipped.
"Raven..."
"Tai…"
"I'm surprised you survived those wounds. You also got my sofa covered in your blood by the way, and I'm still pissed by that. Do you know how long it took for me to remove it?" Tai's words were sharp like a knife as Raven could only just stare at him.
Glynda then coughed into her fist as she spoke up. "Besides that, Mr Xiao Long, Raven Branwen. You wished to tell Ozpin something correct?" Raven could only slowly nod back as everyone took a seat.
"With that out of the way, Raven, I wish to confirm with you something. Ironwood and I have been tracking a certain individual down" Ozpin asked as he activated his scroll to show Raven, a certain blond girl with green eyes. Raven's eyes could only widen which confirmed everyone that Saber was the one who nearly killed her. "Does she look familiar to you?"
"It's her… How did you get a photo of her?" Raven mumbled out.
"I've been working with Ironwood on the matter. He has revealed some interesting theories on the matter. The main one is that Saber is not human." This earned slightly confused looks from his subordinates as Raven nodded slightly as Ozpin continued.
"That and Qrow have informed me that you were the Spring maiden all along." Ozpin's words turned to ice as Raven paled again and began sweating bullets.
"So, I'll cut to the chase and ignore how you got the spring maiden powers for now, we have a bigger issue to address first. Do you have any idea as to what Saber is?"
"No…" Raven could only say it as she took a pause. She can't hide it anymore from everyone in this room. "I sense a massive amount of magic within her. And when she had the relics, Saber became unstoppable as if her strength had received a boost after claiming it. Neither Qrow nor I could hope to defeat her when she has it in hand."
"And that's when you tried to escape and ended up at my house." Tai finished it off as Raven just nodded and asked with hesitation but laced with something everyone didn't expect to hear from the bandit.
Fear. A genuine fear in her tone.
"Where… Where is she? Where's that girl right now?"
Ozpin could only look at his allies as they nodded at him. "Saber is currently in Vale right now. We've been tracking her movements recently and she had just recently arrived in Vale for some purpose we do not know yet. However, she seems passive, for now." Raven now looked terrified as her face paled, but she soothed herself as Ozpin continued.
"Now that you are awake, I have more news to share with everyone in this room."
"And that is headmaster?" Glynda raises an eyebrow as Ozpin lets out a sigh.
"Ironwood had recently informed me that there are more beings like Saber detected recently. It is also how I found out that Saber is in Vale, and I haven't shared with all of you much earlier, because both he and I were trying to compile all the information we gathered so far. I'm trusting you all with this information, including you Raven, because I fear that something big is going to happen in the future." Ozpin explained the situation as everyone remained silent as they all processed what the headmaster had said. Even Raven was paying attention.
"So, we got more of those people like Saber running around in Remnant? Just great…" Qrow then took a swig from his canteen as Ozpin just nodded.
"Weeks back, Ironwood had met an individual who calls herself Ruler," Ozpin then activated his scroll on the table as it then shows a holographic photo of a woman with a braided blond hair alongside amethyst eyes. "She so happens to be found investigating murder cases in Mantle when she came across Ironwood's Ace operative forces. Out of the same objectives, Ruler worked with them and encountered another individual called Berserker."
Like before, Ozpin pressed his scroll as it changed to shows a footage of what everyone else could assume was Berserker fighting." This individual noticeably has a grudge against Ruler and would focus on her, only retaliating against the Ace ops should they get in her way."
"So, in short, they're not working together?"
"That is correct Tai, however it's her strength that's what concerns me. The fact that the Ace ops struggle against her with Ruler's help tells us that these individuals are more powerful and resilient compared to the average Huntsman and huntresses. And with Raven confirming that they have the presence of magic in their bodies, it's clear that they are powerful individually. Seeing that a few days later, Ruler would help take down one of the two leviathans attacking Argus by herself, according to general Ironwood" Everyone except Raven nodded as they all remembered reading the news on it.
"About Ruler, how did Jimmy manage to acquire this information?" Qrow pointed out.
"Ruler has proven to be cooperative to James and provided several pieces of information willingly when she was brought in for questioning. And as dirty as it was, he had provided Ruler with a scroll that had a bug installed inside it. This is how we found out that she was headed for Mistral before coming into contact with Saber." Ozpin then played the recording provided by Ironwood as all of them listened to it before he explained.
"As you all can see, Ruler and Saber seemed to know each other to an extent and had full intentions of meeting up in Vale in about a week's time. And then there's the fact that Saber is currently in Vale for 'personal reasons'. This is the situation right now and whatever I've said so far, it must never leave this room. The consequences could be dire if someone gets a whiff of such beings out there." Ozpin's eyes drifted to everyone in the room before landing directly onto Raven.
"That includes you, Raven Branwen. As much as I do not appreciate you running off, you out of everyone in this room has experience with how Saber operates, therefore you are important. Are there any questions?"
"There is one." Raven spoke out.
"Before our… fight, Saber mentions that the relics attract Grimm like flies to a flame. Is she correct with that statement?" Ozpin's eyes noticeably widened before returning back to normal.
"Yes… The Relics, by their nature, would attract Grimm towards it."
"But if that's the case, why hasn't Vale been attacked by them yet if Saber has the relic with her?" Glynda questions it as she's now curious about it.
"I doubt it could cause the Grimm all over Remnant to go berserk." Tai adds in as Raven remains silent.
"Unless she didn't take it with her but used it instead…" Everyone in the room now looked at Raven who was pondering with her hand on her chin.
"What makes you say that?" Glynda raised an eyebrow.
"It sounds insane but Saber said a couple of things when she barged into my camp. She knows that someone in my camp housed the Spring maiden powers and she knows about her." The temperature of the room dropped substantially as everyone glanced at each other.
"Hold up Rae, you're telling us that Saber knows of the queen. You're joking right?" Qrow was pretty much unconvinced, after all, this is his 'sister' he's talking about. How can he trust her word after she ditched everyone?
"May I remind you brother," Raven's voice was noticeably strained when she addressed her twin. "Saber knows the existence of the Relics. And last I've checked no one except a few know of the existence of them. As a result, I have little doubt that she knows that the queen existed."
"Do you think she is working with her?" Ozpin then asked next. His eyes narrowed down upon Raven.
"No, I doubt that she's working for her. Saber says that she wants to focus on the true threat. While I don't know what is this true threat she's talking about, I believe that she's against her and not you."
This resulted in everyone discussing it further as Ozpin was left in his mind to think. This Saber is both a potential threat and an asset at the same time. Yet, from what he could gather, Saber is against Salem. But her way of achieving it is… complicated. Judging from the fact that she planned to steal the maiden powers from Raven by killing her.
He must remain cautious of her and watch her every move. Alternatively, he could try to bring her in to talk. It could work, but she might display her aggressiveness to such attempts. From what Qrow had told him about her weeks back.
Ozpin could only feel a headache coming in. How did things get so complicated in a span of a couple of weeks? Then there's the question of what to do with Yang if she finds out that her birth mother is back. No. That's for another day to worry about it.
They have bigger fish to deal with first.
Fou POV
After waking up from his sleep on the bed, Fou could see his servant companion already on her feet and dressed up for the day. But things were getting boring for Fou and he wanted to explore the outside world. But Saber wouldn't have that. Something about keeping his presence a secret or what not. It doesn't matter to Fou, sure relaxing all day sounds great and Saber would regularly get fruits and nuts for him to snack on which was nice but…
Fou wants to see more of this world as he had seen so far on the screen that Saber so helpfully left it on for him to watch. And it's not like Fou can't fight or anything along those lines. He can protect himself, thank you very much!
"Fou, I'm leaving the room now. I'll be sure to bring you back some nuts, ok?" Fou heard Saber speaking out as she was in her outfit again with her mask on. He always finds it weird that Saber needs a mask. Last time he remembered, Saber was not the secretive type. Then again, yesterday was more interesting with the introduction of Ruler.
"Fou Fou!" That was all Fou said as Saber nodded before leaving the room to do her business somewhere else. Fou couldn't help but be jealous. He also wants to see the outside world but Saber says no. Perhaps he could sneak out and explore the city by himself.
Yes. That sounds like a better idea than just sitting inside and waiting all day for Saber to come back. A small smile appeared on Fou's face as a plan began to form. Thankful enough, the hotel they were staying at is only 3 stories tall but wide enough to house a lot of people.
Fou, after waiting for a few minutes to ensure that Saber won't know what he's up to, immediately walked towards the windows which were closed before pulling the latch to unlock the windows. Fou then pushed the windows open with little effort to see the city itself as civilians could be seen doing their day. However, walking on the streets alone wouldn't be wise right now. Fou then looked around before seeing the ledge of a nearby building that was close enough to jump towards.
Glancing back for a second at the hotel in which he and Saber had been staying, Fou jumped towards the nearby roof tops and began running along the edge and watched everyone going on their days. Glancing at the distance, Fou could see Saber walking down the streets and decided to tail her for now.
Just being here reminded Fou of the times he, alongside Ritsuka and Mash, have explored the various singularities and lost belts. They have been through so much and have many many friends and enemies along the way. Fou could only wonder how they were doing before he suddenly woke up in a forest and found Mordred.
Even then, Fou could tell that this Mordred was different from the one he knows. Obviously, the fact that the Mordred he met weeks ago seemed calmer and more calculative compared to what she's really like. Though occasionally, she would return to how she usually acts. This intrigued Fou and is one of the few reasons why he sticks by her. The other is because she feeds him tasty snacks for free.
And who is he rejecting free food?
Shaking his head, Fou continued to tail Saber as she could be seen looking around for someone, whoever she's looking for, Fou's curious. Fou then jumped towards a nearby tree and sat on its branch as Saber paused for a second to look around. Ah, she must have heard the tree rustling when he jumped onto it.
Fou continued watching Saber for a while before he got bored of it and began walking through the streets by himself, though this earned several curious looks and cooing at how adorable Fou was from everyone. Of course, there were others who were wondering what kind of species Fou was. Several whispers were heard by Fou describing him as a bunny-squirrel thing.
In fact, several passers-by actually stopped by to pet him or even give him treats! Though there were others who would be about to take photos of him, he usually would escape and run off before they could prevent it from spreading on the CCTs. This went on for quite a while until he ran across team RWBY and JNPR.
And the results went as well as anyone who had seen something extremely adorable.
"Ohmygodlookatthatadorablething!" That was all Ruby yapped out before she zips right across the street with her semblance towards Fou. That was quickly followed by Nora and everyone else who were charmed by Fou's cuteness.
Ruby quickly picked up Fou who was in a daze at how fast Ruby was before she grabbed him underneath his arms and lifted him into the air. "Look at it! I've never seen such a cute… uh… What is it actually?" Ruby wondered as she faced everyone who ran after her.
"I uh, never seen such an animal like this before…" Jaune pointed out as Weiss and several others began to make their observations at Fou who just looked confused at the whole ordeal.
"It looks like a mixture of a rabbit and a squirrel." Pyrrha made her observation.
"White squirrel thing! You're mine!" Nora with enthusiasm, took Fou out of Ruby's hands and began to pet his head. Fou, now no longer dazed, chirped out loud.
"Fou!"
"Oh, my goodness! It makes such an adorable noise!" Weiss couldn't help herself but squealed at Fou's noise.
"Wow, who knew that Ice queen has a soft spot for cute animals." Yang gave a grin as Weiss snapped at her teammate.
"Quiet you." Weiss then coughed into her hand to recompose herself. "As much as we want to admire such an adorable animal. We should at least find its owner and return it to them."
"Weiss's right. Obviously, this belongs to someone judging by this cape it's wearing right now. But who owns it?" Ren nodded his head as everyone stood there and pondered while looking around for the owner of this cute critter. Fou began to wiggle out Nora's grip.
"Wait fluffy thing! Stop squirming!" Nora cried out in alarm as Fou jumped out of Nora's grip as everyone gasped and were about to chase after Fou.
"Fou, fou." Fou just landed on the ground before looking in a certain direction of the street before looking back at them.
"This animal is clearly intelligent. I think it wants us to follow it." Blake made an observation as Fou walked a distance before coming to a stop and looked at them again.
"Uh… should we follow it?" Jaune glanced at his friends who too also glanced at each other before Ruby came to the conclusion rather cheerfully.
"Yea! I want to see where he leads us!"
Fou just nodded with a chirp before he ran towards Ruby and jumped onto her shoulder as she let out a giggle. "Hehehe! You're cute! Let's go find your owner!"
"Fou. Fouu..." Fou continues to chirp as he points his head towards where Saber was.
"I still want to meet its owner. He or she must be incredibly irresponsible to leave it running around in the streets like this." Weiss just shook her head as they all began walking across the street to where Fou's leading them.
"Where do you guys think Fou is going to lead us?" Yang wondered out as everyone stopped walking and looked at Yang with confusion.
"Fou?" Blake raised an eyebrow at her partner as she folded her arms.
"I mean yea, the little guy gotta have a name, right? So, I'm calling it Fou." Yang concluded as she rested her hands on her hips.
"...That makes sense, I guess?" Ruby could only tilt her head in confusion as Fou chirped.
"Fou, fou!"
"See! The little guy likes it!" Yang just smiles.
"Right… We should go find Fou's owner." Pyrrha suggested as everyone nodded in agreement and resumed their walking.
Mordred POV
"Ok. If I was Emiya, where would I be?" Those were my thoughts as I walked through the streets while looking around for hours now. This is going to take a while to find the shop he's working in since Vale is large as hell. Might take a week or less if I were to spend the whole day searching for him…
If only there was an easier way…
"Oh wait." I could only give myself a face palm. I could have searched on the CCTS for Emiya faster! His food tends to be really tasty if it's anything like the anime, and would no doubt attract attention and make the stall he's in popular. I shook my head as I sat on a nearby bench as I scroll through my scroll for popular cafes.
…
Huh, there's one not that far from here. Let's go check it out then! A small smile appeared on my face as I stood up and made my way towards it. Some of you may now ask, why am I not using that bike that Zelretch provided for me? Well, I would but for once, I decided not to use it to get around all because I wanted to enjoy the view in Vale.
As I walked through the streets, I saw a couple of Huntsman and Huntresses in training walking around. Then again, it is the weekend and they must have left Beacon to spend their time in Vale. Then there's also the Vytal Festival decorations going up all over the place.
Seeing them so happy right now that the joy they had would be replaced by fear and death when the Fall happens. Of how everything goes to shit so fast thanks to Salem's plot. But I will change that.
Beacon will not fall.
Cinder will die.
Those who serve her will all die. Mercy is only offered to those who deserve it. Man... I'm literally becoming a blood knight huh?
Some time passed and soon I arrived at a small café and when I opened the door, I happened to see Emiya just at the counter reading a book before looking up at me. To say the least, both he and I were staring at each other in shock. Because I didn't expect to see him in my first try! But as soon as it started, both of us returned to our default expressions as I walked towards a seat, while he closed his book he's reading and headed towards me with a menu in hand.
"I see you're here." Emiya deadpanned as he passed me the menu.
"Yea, we still have that conversion we left off yesterday. Both of us have a ton of questions for each other, yes?" I spoke out softly so only he could hear me as I gazed upon the menu.
Oooh... Cake…
"However, this is not the place to talk. Too many eye witnesses." I continue speaking as I glance back at Emiya who was still staring at my face.
"Is it possible to ask your boss for a short break? We can talk outside." I suggested.
"No." Emiya immediately stated as I froze for a second or two. Ok then, that was quick.
"I… see." I stuttered for a second before closing the menu as I then glanced at him again. "We can talk later or on the scrolls. In the meantime, I'd like to have a strawberry cheesecake and latte please." I gave my order as to what I wish to have as well as had my hand out with the menu on it.
Emiya just nodded back at me as he took the menu and walked off. As I then took the time to gaze around the café itself. It's strange though, as soon as I walked in here. I feel relaxed, I don't know whether it's the environment itself but it allows me to push aside my worries for one in a while.
It's strange though, the place had a balance of a homely dinner place and a high-class coffee shop back on Earth.
Earth.
That name feels so foreign right now. No, I can't look back on the past, I have a future to save. I could only rest my elbows on the table while also resting my head on my arms. Out of nowhere, a feminine voice began whispering into my ears.
"But what does that make you right now? What are you as a person? How long do you intend to run and not face reality? You are lost inside. Like you were before. Let me offer you salvation…"
Wherever that voice is coming from. Shut it. Not interested.
"Admit it… you want salvation for yourself." The voice didn't stop.
I say shut it!
It did not.
It instead began to mock me. "For a strong hearted knight… You are nothing… Just a child brought into an endless war… A yes... living weapon. Just like you were meant to be, you would be disposed of, once you served your purpose. You know this to be true. Do not deny it."
SHUT THE HELL UP! WHERE IS THAT VOICE COMING FROM?!
"Are you alright Miss?" I heard a voice calling out to me as I looked up to see another customer with a concerned look on her face.
"I'm fine, just thinking of something…" I assured her but she looked unconvinced.
"Right… because you turned pale for a second there. Are you truly alright?" The customer asked. "If not, I think it's best if you should see a doctor." The hell? I turned pale earlier? I need to place my attention on it later…
"Right…" I mumbled and nodded to that customer. At the same time, a short woman wearing an apron as well as having pink hair could be seen talking to Emiya. That must be his boss here. I could only continue to observe them as it looks like Emiya's declining something his boss asked him to do? It's quite loud in her so I couldn't make out what he's saying. She then pointed her thumb directly at me.
Emiya then gave an annoyed sigh followed by a nod as I watched him pick up my order and brought it to me. "Did something happen that I'm not aware of?" I could only ask Emiya as he placed the strawberry cheesecake and latte on the table. What he did next kind of surprised me since there's quite a lot of people here and he should be attending to them. He then sat down on the chair opposite of me.
Emiya let out another annoyed sigh as he explained to me "Boss wants me to relax a bit."
"And she asks you to talk to me to relax?" I raised an eyebrow as I took off my mask so I could eat while he bluntly responded back.
"Yes."
"Heh." A small chuckle escaped from my lips as I took a forkful of cake and shoved it into my mouth, my eyes could only widen when it came into contact with my tongue. Holy hell, this shit tastes good!
As fast as it came, the cake was gone within less than a minute as Emiya continued to stare at me devouring it. He must be the one who made the cake, there's got to be no other explanation I swear. Anything he makes tastes good.
Grabbing a tissue on the table, I wiped my mouth as I also nodded my head in satisfaction.
"That cake tastes great. However, we're both getting distracted. Both still have questions that need answering, guess I'll start first." I explained as Emiya just nodded at me as I asked him.
"Ok, first of all. Do you have a master?"
He just shook his head in denial as he finally spoke. "No. I found myself waking up in an alleyway not too long ago." Interesting… he must be one of the servants dropped in by Zelretch. I can trust him, if he's anything like the novels and anime. He is reliable. Though he's a snarky bastard.
"Huh, same as me except that I remembered awakening in a forest off the city of Mistral." I paused slightly to take a sip of my coffee. "Have you encountered any other servants before me?"
Emiya just shook his head. "No, you are the first servant I've met so far." Should I tell him of our purpose here? Yea I should but this is a poor place to talk about it.
My thoughts were very quickly interrupted by the sound of the door bells ringing as what I saw were a group of familiar people consisting of six girls and two guys. Team RWBY and JNPR. What are the chances I meet them here? Kinda high now that I thought about it. Also why is Fou doing out here and on Ruby's shoulder?!
I told him to not leave!
Oh my God. He left the building despite my orders, did he?
Why now of all times?
I could only rub my eyes with my hand as I heard Ruby speaking first as she walked into the café. "Ok, so where is your owner Fou?" Ruby proceeded to scratch Fou under the chin.
"Fou…" That was all Fou chirped out as he jumped off Ruby's shoulder and ran straight for me. I swear Fou, if this was your intention to get me to interact with them, you are going on time out!
"Fou? The hell are you doing here? I told you to stay at home, didn't I?" I raised an eyebrow as Fou jumped onto the table. Emiya however, just stared in shock at Fou. I think he can sense the amount of power inside Fou.
"Fou…" Fou's ears drooped down as I let out an annoyed sigh before facing back at team RWBY and JNPR who had a look that they were clearly trying to remember me. This is the first time we've met and damn, they look realistic and stuff.
"Well thanks for finding Fou, I guess… The little bugger apparently didn't listen to my orders." I gave Fou a head pat to cheer him up before introducing myself to them.
"While I don't prefer to let people know my true name, you may call me Saber. Thanks for keeping Fou out of trouble."
"Right!" Ruby was the first to speak. "I'm Ruby, this is Weiss, that's Blake and the blond girl is my older sister Yang! Then there's Jaune, Pyrrha, Ren and Nora! It's a pleasure to meet you, Saber." Ruby began to introduce me to the gang as they all nodded and introduced themselves to me. From the looks of it, Emiya had already met them…
"Oh! I remember you now! You're the girl at the music festival a while back, yea? Your singing was awesome!" Yang cheerfully pointed at me. Music Festival? What are the- oh. That musical festival huh? I guess that's one way of recognizing me in a way. Damn it, I knew going on stage was a bad idea.
Oh well. Can't change the past.
"Yea…"
"Saber, was it?" Weiss spoke up as I nodded at her as she took a step forward. "I'd like to say that you're an irresponsible owner for having your pet running around in the streets all alone." Weiss spoke to me with a firm tone as I only gave a deadpan look at her while folding my arms.
"I see… I told Fou to stay at home, but it appears that he got bored. I'm honestly not so sure how he got out but thanks for the advice, I'll look into it." Weiss just nodded with hesitation as Jaune pointed out what I'd just said.
"You also call the little fella Fou?"
"Yea. I call him Fou, is there a problem with his name?" I raised an eyebrow at Jaune who began to look nervous as I took a sip of my coffee.
"No… not really." Jaune muttered as he shuffled to the back.
"Yang had a mischievous look on her face. What's she up to now?" I wondered in my head as I took another sip of my coffee. To say the least, her next words caught both me and Emiya off guard.
"I didn't know you had a girlfriend, Emiya. No wonder you bluntly rejected me so fast days back." Yang had a wide grin on her face, Emiya's eyes were wide open as I choked on my coffee, also my cheeks were crimson red. Me and Emiya lovers?! When did that happen?!
"HOLD UP WHAT?!" I couldn't help but yell out in shock after a couple of seconds choking on my coffee. As for Yang, she started to laugh maniacally with her hand on her mouth as my mouth was wide open. I have no idea what happened between Yang and Emiya, but what the fuck Yang!
I could only turn my head away to hide my embarrassment as my cheeks were flaring red, Archer just looked extremely shocked at the whole thing while the rest of team RWBY and JNPR either chastised Yang or joined her in the laughter.
"Yang! Enough teasing them." Ruby poked her older sister right in the arm.
"Right right right. It was worth it seeing their faces." Yang grinned as the once red hue on my face rapidly diffused as I gave a small pout.
"We just met each other today. And the boss wants me to take a break." Emiya then clarified as everyone just nodded.
"Saber, what are you doing in Vale?" Pyrrha then asked me
"Well, I heard that the Vytal festival is going to happen here, so I came here to watch it when it starts. That and I'm a traveler, so I go where I please." I lied as naturally as I breathed as they all nodded at my answer to Pyrrha's question.
"Well then, I've said my part and I had my coffee, I should make my leave." I stood up before giving a glare at Fou. "Besides… a certain fluff ball and I need to do some talking later." Fou shrank down as his ears lowered at my gaze.
"Before you go, what species is Fou? I have never seen anything like it." Blake wondered out as everyone including Emiya looked at me as I put on my mask.
"Beats me." I shrugged. I actually have no idea what species Fou was, except that this little fella is the Primate Murder. "I met Fou in a forest not far from Mistral. Ever since then, he's been tagging alongside me." I explained as I extended my hand out to Fou. Who then climbed up my arm into one of my interior pockets in my overcoat as his head stuck out from it. The others just look at each other in confusion.
"I'll probably see all of you people again since I'm staying in Vale. See ya." And with that, I gave a small wave before walking towards the cashier that was now manned by Emiya.
I leaned in closer towards him. "Now with them out of the way…" I took a pen and wrote my scroll number on it as well as passing him the Lien for my meal.
"Call me once at the end of today. We got more things to talk about. Besides, do you want to know why you're here?" A small smile crept onto my face as he just nodded.
"Take care." That was all I said as I wore my mask once again and walked out the stall. Both RWBY and JNPR noticed me leaving and gave me some space to leave the cafe.
"Take care, Saber! Hope to see you again!" Ruby just waved at me as I left the café. What a fun bunch… I should've been more cautious but the place feels so homely that my guard was lowered. Not like that's a bad thing. I know I can trust them. But can they trust me with what I have done already?
"Why did she call herself Saber now that I think about it? That's a strange name…" Jaune wondered out as they all shrugged.
"And what's with the mask?" Blake also voices her thoughts into the matter.
Whatever they were wondering didn't matter to me as I walked down the streets and began to think to myself. "I need to return back to our hotel and give Fou a talk. And also call Ruler because I forgot to do it yesterday night. Yea, big oops on my part." I proceed to shake my head.
I'll address all these when I get back, and continue my search for anyone who knows as to where Torchwick is. Because only him and several others are my key to get to Cinder.
Egh. What a long day…
Morgan.
Morgan had spent much time observing the new world. Its people, its cultures and its history. In fact, it's the first time in a long while since she felt so… invested into something… It's intoxicating to her and all of it is like an endless depth of the sea. The moment she fell into it, the deeper she found herself in it. And the more interested she found herself in this new world and its secrets.
In fact, most of the time, she spends her free time observing it. Having her servants scrounge up every bit of information. Every bit of it. Stories, fairy tales. All of it. As if an ancient fire had begun to burn slowly again after so long faded as then, she still hates them.
Humans, Faunuses who, in her eyes are just another form of beastmen. The idea of equality, peace. All of it makes her disgusted. Yet, many of them are not so weak as humans were always in her kingdom. She watched through her servants and watched them fight against the Grimm with their 'weapons' that can kill from a distance with precision.
She watched them raise their young to fight against them all. An… admirable thing. True survivors they are. And a clear sign that the humans in the new world are not as weak as they look. Yet they are but ants. Ants unaware of the truth of the world and what lies beneath it all.
The idea of humans possessing magic. Maidens as they are called. The many tales of this place. The Infinite Man, tales of the brother gods. All the stories that she studied in detail. All of them could be real.
As real as the tale of the Maidens.
And much to her genuine surprise, even her knights grew even more curious about the other side for various different reasons. Yet they all still follow and obey their queen without delay. However, ever since that day she mentioned the new world to her court, there had been requests to go to the other world which were strictly denied by her. Others took a much more subtle approach to get past her eyes. They were never seen again after going through it.
But all of this doesn't matter to Morgan. She wants to see more of this world. As the once embers within her began to light up once again like a flare, so does her desire to confront this servant that bears her face. Or more accurately the face of that abominable Red Dragon she so heartily hates with her every being. But she can't do that now.
It's not yet time for it anyways.
But things weren't always smooth sailing. Berserker had failed to report back to her and it was clear that her desire for vengeance against this 'ruler' had made her blind and uncooperative. And thus, Danzou was assigned to look out for her. And bring her back to her throne. In one piece, or in pieces if she must.
But as for Berserker… She's about to cause a crisis to happen. All because Ruler so happened to be on board it. Lives are about to be lost that day, and the world will get a wakeup call and realise that something's not right in their so-called peaceful era.
Its time for the beginning of a new era… Where two worlds meet.
I feel like a piece of shit leaving it off here in a cliff-hanger but yea. I hope you enjoyed this chapter as I have some painful news for me. I will put this story on a temporary hiatus for now. As to why? I came to the realisation that I really need to plan what I want to happen in the future of this story, as what's going to happen right now is that shit is going to hit the fan hard.
That and also a loss of interest in the story and I had to push myself to write this chapter. I don't know why but I just can't.
All I can say is that I am truly sorry that I am unable to continue this story for now. Hopefully, in the future I can resume it, but for now? I will need some time to hopefully get back my interest in it. But until that happens, it would be a while. Perhaps even a year till another chapter shows up. That and office work have begun to pile up at my workplace. And it has stressed me the hell out and made me frustrated as like no tomorrow, this also contributes to my lack of motivation in doing anything unfortunately.
As for the polls, I have come to a conclusion to hold it off so I can think more as to whether I should set up a Patron account. Perhaps its not time yet. I'm also leaning towards another web for supporters called Buy Me a Coffee. I'm not kidding. That's its name.
And we're done, I'll see you all in the next chapter when I get back into it. Hopefully soon.
RGQC out.
