The State Verses Derek Morgan-Ch 26
Fran looked at her son and said, "Derek Michael Morgan, I'm going to ask you a question and I want a truthful answer", Derek said, "okay, ask away momma", Fran blew out a deep breath as she tried to figure out how to word her question. After a couple of seconds she said, "why do you have no self defense marks on your hands or arms?", Derek said, "that's because I didn't fight them momma, I didn't fight them at all".
Hotch, Dave and Mia listened as Fran said, "why didn't you son, why didn't you fight?", "Derek looked at her and said, "because, I don't deserve to live momma, can't you see that, if I killed baby girl like they are saying I did, I have no right to live when I killed the only woman that I'll ever love".
Fran stood up and wiped the tears that had wet her sons face and said, "baby you didn't kill her, you could have never hurt her much less kill her, it's like you said she is the love of your life". Derek screamed out, "but what if I diddddddddd, don't you see, I can't remember anything momma, I have been having flashes and I don't know if they are my own memories or memories that have been planted into my mind".
Hotch said, "we'll do everything we can Derek to find out the truth", Derek said, "will finding out the truth bring baby girl back?", Hotch said, "sadly no but", Derek said, "I don't deserve to live, I wish they would have succeeded in killing me". Fran said, "Derek Morgan Derek said, "I'm sorry momma but a life without baby girl isn't a life, I could have had it all momma, I could have married baby girl, we could have had beautiful babies but all of that was taken from me, from us".
Fran said, "I know baby boy, I know and trust me when I say that we all wanted you and Penelope to have that because you belong together, you always have, she is the other part of you, she is your soulmate". Tears had streamed down and were wetting his bed, he said, "I lost the great love of my life and I'll never ever get to see her again momma, never ever", Fran said, "I know that baby, I lost your father, remember?", Derek nodded his head and said, "I do".
Derek's heart monitor started beeping faster and faster, Dave said, "son, calm down, we need you to calm down", Derek said, "I can't Dave I can't don't you see, my life isn't worth living anymore, not without her, not without baby girl". Seconds later the doctor ran into the room and said, "Mr. Morgan I'm going to have to sedate you and that was the last thing that I wanted to do but your blood pressure and heart rate are dangerously high".
Fran said, "do whatever you have to do", the doctor pulled the cap off of the syringe and injected it into his IV, she looked at Derek and said, "you'll sleep for a while now Derek, sleep, rest, calm down". "Derek felt his eyes getting heavy and before he fell asleep he said, "I love you baby girl, I love youuuuuuu", Fran said, "I'm so sorry baby, I'm so sorry" as Dave pulled her into his arms and said, "he'll be alright Bella, he'll be alright.
Looking at Derek he didn't know if Derek would be okay because he'd lost the will to live without Penelope, maybe when he wakes up they can try to calmly talk to him, the key word there is try"
