After Caroline managed to sneak Stefan out of the front door the next morning just a couple of hours before her mom was awake and after her shower, and after she got dressed. Caroline grabbed her car keys and purse off of her desk and headed down stairs into the kitchen. She wanted to ask her mom about last night and to see if her mom would give her the answers she's looking for. Caroline knows Damon was behind the attack last night, she just can't let her mom know that she knows.
" Good morning." Caroline said as she sat down in her chair and started to eat her breakfast as it was still hot.
" Good morning, sweetheart. What are your plans for today?" Liz asked as she took a drink of her second cup of coffee.
" Well, I was gonna go dress shopping for tonight's founders party and then I was gonna go spend time with Stefan afterwards." Which is part true Caroline was planning on spending time with Stefan after school, but she also wanted to confront Damon about last night.
" So, what time would you be home then?"
" I should be home before dinner. So, who got attacked last night?" Caroline asked as she took a drink of her orange juice before taking another bite of her French toast.
" It turned out it was a couple that got attacked last night. Both were drain from blood and both were bitten by the neck." Liz said as she sighs softly. Last night when Liz got to the crime scene, it was the most horrific scene she ever came across to. An female and male victims were both drained of their blood and left dead right in front of the Mystic falls center. Both were also in their Mid- twenties early thirties.
" Oh my God, do they know who attacked them?" Caroline asked even though she already knew the answer.
" It was ruled out as an animal attack." Liz said as she set her cup down.
" You actually don't believe that do you?"
" Well what else could it be?" Liz asked as she shrugged her shoulders.
" I don't know, I mean it could've been anything. But I don't believe it was an an animal attack, and I can tell you don't believe it either. It's written all over your face mom. Wanna know what I think?" Caroline asked as she got from her chair and grabs her book bag off the floor.
" What?"
" I honestly think as a sheriff of this town, you shouldn't believe crazy stories like an animal attacks. Mom your smarter than that." Caroline said as she leans over and gave her mom a kiss on the cheek." I will see you later mom." Caroline said as she walked out of the kitchen and out of the front door.
Liz sits there as she starts to wonder if Caroline knows more then what she's saying. But Liz didn't have time to figure it out, she had to go to the station and of course go to the next council meeting, so they can figure out what to do about their vampire problem.
Pulling up into the Mystic Falls Mall parking lot. Caroline parked between Elena and Bonnie's cars. Getting out of her car and making sure it's locked, Caroline went to find Elena and Bonnie. As she walked into the main entrance, she spotted them sitting outside by Jamba Juice." Hey guys, you guys ready to go shopping?" Caroline asked as she walked up to them.
" Not yet, looks Elena and Matt has been arguing over the phone." Bonnie answered with an eye roll and shook her head.
" Why? What happened?" Caroline asked as she down across from them. Caroline remembered yesterday Elena was bringing Matt to the founders party to the Lockwoods tonight. She is kinda hoping Matt is not backing out now. Caroline's thoughts was broken once Elena started to speak.
" I'm sorry Matt, but I have made my decision I'm taking Damon Salvatore and besides the last time I asked you to come with me, besides your the one who kept saying you're not a founding family anyways."
" She invited Damon?" Caroline asked as she glared at Bonnie in shock and disbelief.
" She called him once you left." Bonnie said as she sucked on her straw of her Jamba Juice. Bonnie could steal feel Caroline staring at her. Bonnie sighs as she rolled her eyes." Don't look at me like that, what was I supposed to do? Stop her?"
" Exactly, Bonnie Bennett. You were supposed to stop our best friend from making the biggest mistake of her life." Caroline responded with a heavy sigh. Caroline sat back against the chair as she crossed her arms over her chest as she waits for Elena to get off the phone.
After Elena was talking to Matt she ended the call and looked up as she noticed them staring at her." What?" Elena asked as she took a sip of her smoothie.
" You invited Damon Salvatore? Are you crazy or something?" Caroline asked in an almost high pitched voice." What about Matt?"
Elena huffed as she rolled her eyes." For your information Matt just decided to stay home and why would it matter to you if I invite Damon or not?" You're taking Stefan, what's the big deal?" Elena asked as she brought her brows together.
" The big deal is that Damon is dangerous and I don't want to see you get hurt, that's all." Caroline said as she sighs softly." Look your my best friend Elena and the last thing I wanna see you get hurt by him."
Elena got up from her chair as she placed her hand on Caroline's shoulder." I know you're just looking out for me and I love for it. But trust me though, I know what I'm doing. Besides I haven't given Damon a chance before and now I do. Now you two ready to go shopping?"
" Yes." Bonnie answered as she jumped up from her chair as she started to walk into the department store with Elena. She stopped for a moment when she noticed Caroline was behind them." Hey, Care are you coming?"
" Yeah, I am coming." Caroline answered as she finally got up and places the strap of her purse on her shoulder. Caroline needs to confront Damon about last night as soon as possible and she also needs to make sure Damon doesn't do anything stupid at the Lockwoods tonight. The last thing they need is another attack and they end up ruling it as an animal attack again.
