Walking back towards her locker, Caroline noticed her friends and Stefan standing around her locker as they were all waiting for her. She exhaled deeply as she dropped her shoulders and started to walk towards them." Hey guys. Sorry I'm late." She said as she gave Stefan a quick kiss on the lips as she stepped closer to her locker.

" Were did you go this morning?" Bonnie asked.

Caroline just shrugged her shoulders. " I had something important to take care of. It's no big deal." Caroline said as she was just brushing it off. She couldn't let them know that she went to see Damon, especially Stefan since she already knows that he'll probably get pissed off about it.

" What was so important, that you had to leave right after history?" Elena asked as she looked at Caroline in confusion. She then raised her eyebrows as she already knew the answer." Um, Caroline can I talk to you? In the bathroom please?"

" Why...?" Caroline asked as she raised her brow.

" Elena, what's going on?" Bonnie asked as she was very confused about why Elena suddenly wanted to talk to Caroline alone in the bathroom." If there's something you need to talk to her about, why don't you say it in front of us."

Elena just huffs rolling her eyes." Come on." She said as she pulled Caroline away from Bonnie and Stefan. Walking through the girls bathroom door, Elena crossed her arms over her chest as she stared at Caroline for a moment.

" What?" Caroline asked as she didn't like the look her best friend was giving her.?

" You know what, Caroline. What did you tell Damon? I know you went to talk to him."

Caroline exhaled loudly as she closed her eyes for a moment and open them back up. " Yes, Elena I went to talk to Damon just like you asked me too which by the way I didn't appreciate at all." Caroline couldn't wait to get away from Damon this morning.

" So, what did he say?" Elena asked with some hopeful in her voice.

Caroline took a deep breath as she scratched her forehead as she was trying to find a way to tell Elena without hurting her feelings. " Damon said he never meant to hurt you by avoiding you. But right now he doesn't have time for you or your high school drama."

" My high school drama? What the hell does that mean?" Elena asked as she brought her brows together and crossed her arms over her chest.

Caroline just shrugged her shoulders." I got no idea, but I honestly do think it's best that you move on from Damon before you end up getting hurt or worse dead." Caroline hates telling Elena who to date or who not to date but she's just looking out for Elena, like a best friend should.

Elena scoffed as she shook her head." So, you're basically telling me that you're the only one who gets to date and sleep with one of the Salvatore brothers and I can't? That makes no sense to me Caroline." Elena said out of anger as she couldn't believe Caroline would say something like that.

Caroline sighs again. " That's not what I'm saying Elena, all I am saying is that I don't think Damon Salvatore is the right guy for you."

" Not the right guy for me?" Caroline, what is it that your not telling me?"

Caroline stayed silent for a moment as she wanted to tell Elena the truth about Damon but she made a promise to Stefan that she wouldn't, and that's the promise she's willing to keep. She hates lying to her friends but it's the only to protect them especially Elena and if Caroline has to lie to Elena in order to protect her then so be it.

When Caroline didn't answer her question, Elena threw her hands up in frustration. " Fine, if you won't tell me what's really going on. Then I am going to go ask Stefan." Elena said as she turned around and walked out of the girls bathroom before Caroline could stop her.

" Damn it." Caroline hissed as she threw her head back and closed her eyes for a moment as she inhales and exhaled deeply. This wasn't what Caroline wanted. She just hopes that Stefan doesn't say anything and that this whole thing won't blow up in their faces. She sighs deeply as she walked out of the girls bathroom.

After cheerleading practice Both Caroline and Bonnie was in the girls locker room getting dress when Bonnie looked over at Caroline for a moment." So, what happened between you and Elena this morning?" Bonnie asked as she watched Caroline stuff her cheerleader uniform into her duffle bag.

Caroline huffs as she zipped up her duffle bag and looks at Bonnie for a moment." She's just mad at me because I told her that I thought it was best for her, if she just moved on from Damon. After that Elena just walked out of the girls bathroom and never spoke to me all day." Which was true, ever since their conversation Elena totally gave Caroline. the silent treatment. Elena wouldn't even sit with Caroline and Stefan during lunch.

Bonnie sighs as she nods her head." I tried to get Elena to come with me so we can join you and Stefan for lunch. But she refused to and now I know why. Care, you know how much Bonnie likes.Damon and to tell her to move on from Damon, that's not your decision to make." Bonnie said as she was making a point.

Caroline rolls her eyes as she shook her head. " I know that Bonnie. But I know Elena and I know she can do so much better than Damon Salvatore. Damon Salvatore isn't the kind of man that our best friend should get involve with."

" What are you talking about? "

Caroline sighs deeply." I can't tell you, I made a promise that I wouldn't. But what I can tell you, is that Damon is dangerous and we got.to keep Elena away from him before he ends up hurting her. " Caroline said as she picked up her duffle bag and pulled the strap over her shoulder. " I gotta catch up with Stefan, see you later tonight at the Halloween carvinal?"

Bonnie nods her head. " Yeah, I will be there."

Caroline nods her head as well as she gave Bonnie a hug." I'll give you a call." She said as she let Bonnie go and walked out of the girls locker room and went to meet up with Stefan outside of the school parking lot. Caroline just hopes that Elena didn't. ask Stefan the real reason why Caroline thinks Damon isn't the one for her. She also hopes that her and Elena could move past this and start talking like friends again.

Walking across the school parking lot, Caroline found Stefan leaning against his red sports car. She couldn't help with a huge grin on her face as she walked towards him." Hey." She said as she leans up and kisses Stefan passionately and deeply as she placed both hands against his chest. She slowly pulls back as she noticed the look on his face.

" Stefan, what's wrong?"

AN: I think things are about to get interesting and more intense as well. Next chapter will be the Halloween Carvinal and of course Stefan is about to find out what Damon's plan and the real reason why he's back in Mystic Falls.
