The State Verses Derek Morgan Ch 59
The next morning Penelope woke up and smiled when she saw Jack cuddled up to her on one side and Henry on the other, she gently wrapped an arm around each of them and laid there just enjoying the peace of the moment. When she was being held by Robert and his family she never thought she would be able to see any of her family again, much less be laying with Jack and Henry, holding them as they slept.
She looked up when she saw Derek standing in the doorway, he grinned and whispered, "good morning sweetness", she said, "good morning to you too handsome, how did you sleep?", he said, 'I haven't slept that good in years". She said, "I'm so glad", Derek walked closer to her and said, "I'm so glad that you're here with me, I was so afraid that I'd lost you forever but when I saw you standing in the back of the courtroom I thought I was dreaming".
Penelope said, "it's not a dream angelfish, I'm real, I'm right here", he grinned at her and said, "I've missed you, I've missed your smile, your laugh, our banter, I've just, well I've just missed you". Penelope said, "when I was being held captive, you and our family were all that I could think about, especially after they told me that you all thought i was dead and that you'd been arrested for murdering me".
Derek said, "they tried to say that I'd raped you and tortured you before i killed you", her eyes softened and she said, "oh handsome, nobody in their right mind would believe that you'd ever hurt me, I have you wrapped right here" as she held up her pinky finger. He laughed and said, "that you do baby girl, you always have had me wrapped around your little finger".
She said, "and you've always owned me, heart, body and soul", he said,"you are so beautiful, how did I get so lucky that you came back into my life, now I get the chance to do and say everything that I was afraid to do and say before". Penelope said, "why aren't you afraid now?", Derek said, "because I lost you once and now that I've got you back I'm not taking anything for granted, when I want to hug you I'm going too and when I want to kiss you I'm going too".
Penelope laughed and said, "well if you can then that means that I can do it too, right?", he said, "but of course, who am i to deny my all seeing all knowing oracle anything that her little heart desires?", Penelope said, "I'll remind you of that later". Derek said, "ohhh please do baby girl, please do", their conversation ended when Jack and Henry started waking up, she looked down at them and said, "good morning my angels".
Derek looked around when JJ and Emily walked into the room JJ said, "it's time for the two of you too get up and get cleaned up for breakfast, Nana Fran has breakfast almost ready". The boys looked up at their aunt Penelope and she said, "don't worry I'm not going to go anywhere, well except downstairs, okay?", the two boys nodded their heads yes and then climbed off of the bed and ran to their mothers.
As they headed toward the door they turned around and Jack said, "I love you aunt P", Henry grinned and said, "me too aunt P, me toooooo" causing her to laugh and say, "and I love you both soooooooo much" as she opened her arms as wide as she could. JJ and Emily smiled at their sons and at Penelope as they led their sons from the room so that they could get cleaned up a little for breakfast.
Derek and Penelope were alone she held out her hand to him, he put his hand in hers and she gently pulled him down onto the bed with her, he cuddled closer and said, "I love you baby girl", she touched his cheek with her finger and said, "and I love you, I love you so much", seconds later his lips descended down onto hers.
Derek deepened the kiss by sliding his tongue inside her mouth, she wrapped her arms tighter around him and held on for dear life, as she kissed him she couldn't help but think it was all a dream. When they pulled apart she looked lovingly into his eyes and said, "please tell me this is real, tell me that I'm not dreaming", he rested his forehead against hers and said, "it's not a dream, this is real, it's ohhhh soooooo real baby girl" as his lips found hers for one final kiss before they got up and headed downstairs to join the others for breakfast.
