The State Verses Derek Morgan Ch 63
Penelope was currently sitting on the couch in the Rossi library watching Nemo with two very excited boys, they were so happy to have their aunt P back with them again, they were happy as long as they could be with her. Derek used the time that she was watching a movie with the boys to go home, grab the engagement ring and come back to his mom and Dave's place where he wasted no time in dropping to one knee again and asking her to marry him.
She laughed and said, "I was the one that asked you, remember?", he said, "yeah, yeah, you beat your man to the punch butttt if you say yes, it will be official, you will be mine and I will be yours". She sighed happily and held out her left hand and said, "well then, let's make it official", he smiled lovingly into her eyes as he slid the engagement ring onto her finger, he then stood up and wrapped his arms around her and claimed her lips with his.
When they pulled apart they grinned as Jack, Henry, Fran, Sarah, Desi, Reid, JJ, Em and Dave were standing there watching them and clapping their hands while shouts once again of congratulations filled the air. After everybody hugged both the bride and groom to be Dave and Reid pulled Derek to the side of the room to discuss something with him.
Derek stood listening as Dave said, "Reid and I are going to go talk to Robert, would you like to come along?", Derek said, "like you had to ask?", Reid said, "we didn't know if you would want to leave Garcia just yet". Derek glanced over his shoulder at the blonde that would soon be his wife, she was watching Nemo again, he grinned at Reid and said, "she'll be tied up with those two for a while so now's the time for me to get out of here and see what Robert has to say".
After telling Penelope where he was going and why she smiled, kissed his lips, said I love you", he said, "I love you too, have fun with the boys and tonight you and I will go out on a date, just the two of us". Penelope said, "I'd like that", Derek winked at her and said, "I'll see you later Mrs. soon to be Derek Morgan", she said, "see ya soon hubby to be" causing Derek to grin as he turned around and followed Dave and Reid from the room.
On the ride to the police station Dave said, "how did kitten handle the news about her apartment?", Derek said, "she wasn't happy at all but once she found out that you and the others put all of her stuff in your storage room she was okay". Reid said, "it's such a shame that they rented out her apartment like that after her death, well supposed death", Derek said, "that it was pretty boy, that it was but for now she'll stay here with ma and Dave and then she'll move in with me after we get married".
Dave said, "any idea when you and kitten will tie the knot?", Derek said, "well, we haven't really had time to discuss that, we'll talk about that tonight on our date", Reid said, "so you're going to talk on your date instead of dancing, eating and kissing, who are you and what did you do to ourDerek ?", Dave laughed and Derek said, "ha ha pretty boy veryyyyy funny".
Reid said, "but seriously Morgan, we couldn't be happier for you and Garcia", Derek said, "thanks Reid", Dave said, "I still can't believe that kitten is alive and well and back with us where she belongs", Derek said, "me either Dave, me either". He sat there smiling and said, "now that I have her back in my life, I'm going to do everything in my power to keep her safe, happy and healthy and the sooner I make her my wife the better".
Dave said, "well when you talk to kitten later let us know what you've decided and if you want a quick wedding, we can make that happen and if you would rather wait and give her a big wedding we can do that too". Derek said, "it doesn't matter when or how big to me, I'm leaving that decision up to baby girl, the only thing that matters to me is finally marrying the love of my life, because we none have a promise of tomorrow".
Reid and Dave nodded their heads yes in agreement with Derek because truer words had never been spoken
