The State Verses Derek Morgan Ch 70
As the newlywed couple led their family and friends across the yard to the reception tent everybody was smiling and laughing, they were all so happy for their friends, after everything they had been through they were finally husband and wife. When they entered the huge tent that had been set up by the men of the family the sound of music filled the air, it was soft, romantic music that made the day even more perfect.
Derek pulled his wife into his arms and kissed her lips gently, he rested his forehead against hers and said, "I was so afraid that I would never see you again, I was so afraid that you would never know how much I love you". She looked lovingly into his eyes and said, "same here angelfish, same here but we're together now, we're married, I belong to you and you belong to me and nothing and nobody can change that".
Fran smiled as Derek nodded his head, she hit a button and the music and words to All Of Me by John Legend filled the air, they started dancing their way across the dance floor and they looked oh so beautiful doing it. Everybody was snapping picture after picture as the newlyweds continued dancing, after the first verse of the song was over Reid and JJ joined them, followed by Hotch and Emily then Dave and Fran.
Shane smiled at Tasha and said, "would you like to dance?" as he held his hand out to her, she smiled and said, "I'd love to" as he led her to the floor, next Luke walked over to Desi and said, "Desi, would you like to dance?", she said, "sure, I'd love to" as they too joined the couples happily dancing.
Sarah looked up when James said, "Sarah, would you like to dance?", she said, "I'd love to James" as they took to the floor to join the other smiling happy couples, leaving only Mia and Connor standing Henry and Jack. Connor said, "would you like to dance Mia?", she said, "I'm not a good dancer", Connor said, "me either, so how about we get out there and step on each others toes?", she laughed and said, "sounds good to me" as he took her by the hand and led her to the dance floor.
Henry and Jack were laughing and pointing at everybody as they danced, they couldn't figure out what was so much fun about dancing so they shrugged and started playing with their toys until the first dance was over. Fran smiled and said, "okay, we're going to do things a little different, we're going to cut the cake now so that way everybody can eat, laugh, talk, dance, do whatever you want to do for the rest of the evening".
Penelope and Derek were all smiles as Fran and Desi brought the cake through the opening of the tent, it was gorgeous, it was a 3 tier cake, and in the middle of the cake was a champagne fountain, it was gorgeous. Penelope looked at her mother in law and said, "it's so beautiful Fran, thank yo so much", Fran hugged her son and daughter in law and then stepped back as they slid the knife through one tier of cake.
After putting the cake into a plate, they fed each other a bite and then shared a kiss, they then smashed the rest of the cake on each others faces and then kissed and licked it off while their family laughed. Over the next several hours everybody had a blast together as they helped the bride and groom celebrate their wedding, a wedding that for a while nobody thought was going to happen but thanks to Shane and Reid Derek and Penelope were reunited and the rest they say is history.
Shane and Tasha sat alone at a table laughing and talking, each telling the other about their lives and it turned out that they had a lot in common and it didn't take long before they were holding hands and Penelope smiled as she glanced in their direction and saw them kissing.
Connor and Mia had danced several dances together, they laughed and talked and they too had a lot in common and when Mia leanred that Connor only lived about 20 minutes away from her they made plans to go out again on his next day off. Desi and Luke were seen cuddled up on the dance floor dancing to a lot of slow songs, Penelope sat wrapped in her husbands arms and watched as her sister in law danced the evening away with the noob of the team.
Derek had managed to spend a few minutes talking to James and Connor, they'd made plans to get together after they returned from their honeymoon and baring no unsubs which Connor and James both understood with "Derek's job it was hard to make plans for the future.
All to fast it was time for the newlyweds to say their goodbyes, they were going to be spending their honeymoon up at the Rossi cabin which meant 2 weeks of nothing but spending time together along. Derek smiled as he hugged his mother and told her goodbye and that he loved her before taking his bride by the hand and running across the yard with everybody running after them tossing birdseed.
When they climbed into their waiting SUV they grinned and waved at everybody, the family waved and blew kisses to the happy couple until they disappeared out of sight at the bottom of the driveway, Fran then glanced over at everybody and couldn't help but smile as she saw how good the three couples looked in front of her, she sighed and said, "I'm sensing another wedding, or several in the near future".
Dave wrapped his arms around her from behind and said, " second that", Fran said, "I've learned tonight that Sarah is dating a nice man she met because he works with you and Derek he couldn't make it tonight because he was working". Dave said, "we work with him, who is it Bella?", she grinned and said, "it's Anderson", Dave said, "ohhhh Morgan is just gonna love that Luke dating Desi and Anderson dating Sarah", they then both laughed .
Dave said, "what about James?", Fran said, "he's dating somebody too, she wasn't able to come with him this trip but he promised to bring her around soon so that we can meet her, which tells me that he's planning on proposing soon. Dave said, "he's a nice young man and he deserves to be happy", Fran nodded her head and said, "yes, yes he does"
As Fran stood watching her family she couldn't help but smile, they had been through a lot over the past 5 to 6 weeks but they pulled through it together as a family the smile on her face showed that she couldn't be happier than she was right now.
