Automatons
Song Bird
This automaton takes the shape of a bird that is the size of a macaw made of bronze with a hood on the back of its head that raises when it sings its tune. This tune is created from within the bird by having gears strike few different metal pieces that are built into its body. The hood is pushed up by a small switch on the back of its head that stuck out giving the appearance of a feather that was sticking out. On the back of its wings are curved patterns to add a bit more elegance to its form, as are the curved markings on the two metal parts that formed a double door into the chest where the life stone is held. Its wings are just as big as macaws' wings made from different strips of the material while the talons are able to curve the points down to blunt them making their grip less painful but when needed they could bring out the points that were sharp as knives so it can get a good grip on things.
The materials used to build this automaton are bronze mixed with gronkle iron using fusion ore to form bronze colored gronkle iron which make up its outer shell. Along with this is two peering stones in the eyes to allow it to see for itself and also allow Hiccup to use 'the eye of the dragon to see through it. Its wings are made of strips of bronze mixed with gronkle iron and feather stone, all merged together through fusion ore giving it the ability to fly as if it were a real bird. As for its talons they are made of gronkle iron and copper like the rest of the body but they are hollow and contain small doses of speed stinger venom for a paralyzing scratch. Currently there is only one in existence and is in the possession of Stoick and Valka Haddock as a gift from their son who uses it as a way to keep an eye on things in Berk. It also acts as an alarm clock in the mornings waking both Stoick and Valka up with an upbeat tune that shall not stop playing until the switch on the back of its head is pushed down.
Gathering Chameleon
This automaton is designed to look like a chameleon and is half as thick as Stoicks arm and as long as my Hiccup counting the tail. These automatons have an outer shell that's bronze in color, feet shaped like those of a normal chameleon with three toes each that are easily able to bend in order to grip things. The eyes are able to spin around in different directions like those of a normal chameleon allowing it to view any direction for any possible threats as chameleons are occasionally thought of as delicacies by some birds of prey. The chameleon also possesses a tongue made from a pipe that is able to extend short distances and has a four fingered claw at the end with each claw possessing a single joint in the middle allowing the fingers to collapse in on each other forming an arrow head. In this form the tongues claws are able to rapidly rotate forming a drill that is able to drill into trees, vines, large plant stalks or bee hives to then suck in samples of the inside.
The way this automaton works is its shell is made of bronze mixed with gronkle iron using fusion ore to form bronze colored gronkle iron which make up its outer shell and the second lair of the shell is cranks allowing it to bend its body and tail while the joints in the legs are balls allowing it to easily move them around with no troubles. The joints in the toes are thread from Hiccups arm that are braided together allowing them to bend with a small piece of latch stone imbedded into the bottom of the toes allowing a stronger grip for climbing. The eyes are balls of gronkle iron with a single ball of peer stone no bigger than a pebble in the center of each eye to allow the automaton to see and so Hiccup can see what it sees.
Inside the automaton is a single life stone in the chest allowing it to function with orders to gather samples and bring them back to Hiccup when needed. Besides the life stone there is a total of twelve cylindrical containers in two circles of six with one above the other made of flexible glass with gronkle iron caps that have small holes in the top that can be pushed open and close when there's no pressure on them due to a small spring beneath them. The pipe that makes up the tongue goes down the middle of the body between the containers stopping just above them but can extend to reach the lower ones. When the chameleon begins harvesting samples using its tongue one of these containers is pushed underneath the pipe that will push through the small hole and load up the container with the sample from whatever the chameleon is harvesting from. Along with liquids from plants or honey from bee hives the automaton can also harvest pollen and seeds. When it returns to Hiccup, it climbs up a small stand with two sticks pointing forward at its sides so it can hold onto it with its hands exposing its underbelly before the chest opens up. The containers with the samples are then pushed out one by one allowing them to be taken and replaced with empty one in existence and in the possession of Hiccup who has yet to make more.
Fish scout
The fish scout is an automaton designed to resemble a fish in form and the size of a regular fish which suited them for their purpose. This automaton was built in order to scout out sunken ships for any threats or treasures so Hiccup doesn't waste time or risk his life on empty ship. They have an outer shell made of depths sapphire and bronze mixed together using fusion ore with the flaps of their fins made out of water proof leather and the joints the same material as the body. The eyes are made from peer stones shaped into small orbs allowing Hiccup to see what the automaton sees when it's in a ship wreck. Inside the mouth is a glow stone allowing it to shine light on dark areas using mirrors placed around the stone so the light would shine a bit brighter to lighten more dark areas. Its body has small curve patterns on the side with a small button that pushes the side up revealing the life stone within the body. Only one in existence and in the possession of Hiccup who has yet to make more but intends to make more to speed up the scouting of ships.
Travelling Scorpion
The Travelling Scorpion is a gift from the gods of Arabia who gave it to Hiccup in order to aid him in his travels across the barren deserts and to help him capture any bandits he finds. Has a holographic like map which can be moves to show the different locations of the land in which the scorpion is and can be used to set a course which the scorpion shall automatically travel to at speeds that can match a nightfury's top speed. Also able to carry Hiccups god made tent on its back allowing him and others to enjoy the trip in luxury as the tents inside does not rock with the movement of the scorpions body. When resting in desert the scorpion is able to sink into the sands leaving only the tent visible and making it appear like a normal unguarded camp sight. Also forms a trapdoor in the middle of the tent which leads down to a hall with a door in both the right and left wall and a trapdoor at the end. Through the left door is a storage room with a back wall that is able to lower down to form a drawbridge to the outside in order to load things up through it while the room itself can hold up to six gronkles worth of crates. The right door leads to a dragon stable that can hold up to six dragons with a back wall being able to open up and allow them to fly either in or out. The trapdoor leads straight to a dungeon with six cells that each hold three wooden beds built into the walls so the dungeon can hold a total of eighteen prisoners while the floor can collapse forming a ramp out of the scorpions stomach in order to unload captives.
Also possesses multiple defences for dealing with any threats that may be found in the desert such as predators or bandits making it a very powerful threat to enemies. Pincers are able to shoot out at high enough speeds that they can smash through rocks while connected to the scorpion by a golden chain that is able to pull them back into place just as fast. The stinger of the tail is able to spray two types of liquid with one able to paralyse them and the other acting as an acid that is able to eat through metal as if it were nothing. The scorpion is also able to devour people in order to both intimidate enemies and send them straight into cells where they shall remain unharmed and await to be unloaded.
Scouter
This automaton takes the shape of a tiny little bird that is the size of a child's fist in order to fit into the palm of ones hand or simply land on a finger in order to be less noticeable to the world. It was designed with the desire to create a recon unit for checking out unexplored cities, islands, army bases and other such things. This small bird automaton has an outer shell made of bronze mixed with gronkle iron and Featherstone to allow it to fly. Along with this it has two eyes that are made from peer stones and slightly smaller than a pea but despite this they are able to allow Hiccup to see through them so he's able to scout out places while the lifestone rests within its body. Along with these materials the bottoms of their feet is lined with latch stone in order to help them grip onto things without wobbling around and drawing attention. As for its defenses the inside of the claws had a small dose of speedstinger venom that can be released from the tips but other than that nothing since they are made simply for scouting out places. Along with all this it also possesses the ability to pull its feet and head into its body forming a small ball making it easier to travel with and presently only one in existence.
Stinging wasp
This automaton is designed to look like a palm sized wasp with a powerful sting and is built to mainly be used for guarding things or attacking enemies stealthily while Hiccup controls from a distance. Its body is made from a thin sheet of gold mixed with gronkle iron using fusion ore while the bottom of its six feet are made of latch stone to allow it to hold onto walls. The inside of its body holds a lifestone allowing it to function while its eyes were made of peeking stone connected to Hiccups eye allowing him to see what it sees. The wings are made of flattened Featherstone and able to vibrate fast giving the wasp the ability to fly. The abdomen where the stinger is connected has a small vial inside it while the abdomen could open up allowing me to replace this vial with whatever's needed whether it be speed stinger venom or a lethal poison. The stinger itself is an inch-long needle that can be pulled in and out of the wasps' backside so it could be dipped in whatever's in the vial.
Bronze spider
This automaton takes the form of a small bronze spider the size of Hiccups hand and is mainly made up of bronze mixed with gronkle iron using fusion ore. The lifestone that allows it to function is on the back forming the abdomen while the metal that makes up the body holds onto it. The head has five glow stones and one peerstone mixed with glow stone so it looked like the others while the others were for show alone. There's a total of eight legs with the front two being larger than the others and also possessed vials built into them so they could inject a poison or venom through needles at the end that can be pulled in or pushed out. The other legs have latch stones on the tips allowing them to climb while just above those tips on the part facing in were sheets of the metal that could lower down to create hooks. The reason for the hooks is the joints of the legs have Hiccups unbreakable threads wrapped around them and holding them together allowing the legs to shoot out and wrap around the victim before the hooks connected. This would leave the victim restrained and unable to stop the spider from injecting its two front legs into the body of the victim but shall mostly intend to use it for recon on enemy fortress's.
Loot Shark
These automatons are powerful with their capabilities to not only loot ships but also sink a few if Hiccup wills them to. As the name implies these automatons take the form of sharks that are the same size as a nightfury with a thin outer and inner shell made of depths sapphire and gronkle iron mixed together with a life stone in the center of the head between the eyes allowing it to function and Hiccup to control it with two peer stones connected to the eye of the dragon allowing Hiccup to see through them.
These automatons are able to move through the water like a regular shark but with the spinning blade in its fins it is able to swim faster than any other shark in the ocean. The teeth on the other hand were a mix of gronkle iron and depths sapphire mixed together using fusion ore forming teeth that were strong enough to rip through metal easily. There were two rows of these teeth and the shark has the ability to make them stick out like a leech's teeth before having the two rows rotate rapidly in opposite directions so they could drill a large hole in the hull of ships for them to access through. The inside of the sharks' mouth has a small opening in it where the treasure is thrown in leading to a large storage hold and when the storage hold is full the opening closes. When the opening is closed slots on the top of the hold open up revealing bubble stones that release air forcing the water out through the tiny holes that open up at the bottom leaving the treasures resting in a dry storage hold and preventing any more water damage. When it surfaces however a palm sized handle jumps out of the front of the top dorsal fin allowing Hiccup to pull the top part open revealing the storage hold so its cargo can be collected.
Mining Spider
This automaton is built for mining minerals and has a large body with six spider legs, two thin arms with two pincers on the end of each one and a ball shaped head made of flexible glass with two golden rings outside of it holding the glass ball in the body. This automaton reaches Hiccups waist in height with the six legs constantly bent down supporting the body but using the gears that were the joints it could lift itself up for better reach. At the base of each limb was a ball connecting them to the body and allowing the limbs to rotate to spots where it wanted it to be. The entire body was made of a mixture between gronkle iron and ruby's dragons' breath so it's both strong and can withstand the heat of the volcano.
The bottom of the feet along with the tips of the pincers also have grasp stone merged into their metal allowing them to get a good grip on the items and climb up steep slopes. The head itself was a mix of flexible glass, gronkle iron and ruby's dragons' breath with a single peer stone floating in the middle allowing the automaton a full view of its surroundings while the life stone that allows it to function was in the center of the chest. The inside however was mostly hollow storage compartment for the gems that the gathering spider uses to hold the gems it collects. The way it works is when the automaton grabs a gem before a slot on top of the chest opens up for the gems to be dropped into which would lead them to the storage compartment. When they're emptying out the storage hold the entire front chest would lower itself like a drawbridge as the sides of it lift up preventing the gems from falling off. The gems would then flow down the ramp and into whatever the automatons emptying them into until the storage hold is empty and before the gathering spider returns to collecting the gems.
Serving Automaton
These automatons have round almost orb shaped torsos with a rectangular door in the center that had a nightfury indented in the middle which lead to the inside of the body, an orb shaped head that just for the fun of it received a moustache. They reach Hiccups waist in height since they weren't meant for battle but for tidying up and taking care of the Mansion while Hiccup isn't around. For hands they are given small pincers with blunt ends to grab things and lift things like cleaning tools or books while their arms elbow joints are made of tough leather allowing them to bend them while the rest were made of the same material as the body.
The other materials they were made of their entire bodies outer shell with the exception of their elbow joints are made of gronkle iron mixed with ruby dragon's breath, depths sapphire and anti-magic stone all mixed together with fusion ore mixed with bronze to give their outer shell the bronze color. Their eyes are made from peer stones allowing them to see through them and allowing Hiccup to see through their eyes while the palms of their pincers are made of latch stone to help the automatons get a good grip on things. Through the door in their torsos Hiccup has access to not only the life stone that allows them to function but also access to the glass jars that had pipes leading from their arms into them. The reason for these jars is because of an ability that Hiccup gave them in which their pincers bend back fully as a fan in their shoulder rapidly spins sucking in any dust into the jars that could then be removed and emptied of the filth. Along with this ability they'd also been given another ability by lining the inside of their upper arm with yak hair that they could then push into the arm and out the opening creating a duster that they can then use to dust things.
Snake wrappers
When it comes to the 'snake wrapper' automatons, they are as long as Hiccup is tall when fully uncurled and have an inner lair made of separate strips of leather between gronkle iron rings that make up the outer lair. The inside of their heads hold the life stone that allows them to function along with two peer stones in the eye sockets allowing Hiccup to see what they see, multiple small gronkle iron joints on the inside of the body and two hollow gronkle iron fangs full of speed stinger venom to immobilise the victim if they struggle. The way they work is they're to be tossed at the victim, fully activating them and when they strike the victim they wrap around their bodies like a boa constrictor. Once they've wrapped around the victim they lock up the joints inside them tightening their grip on the victim making them unable to move allowing the snakes to inject the venom. When not in use the leather bits are pulled in bringing the gronkle iron rings together forming allowing the snakes to be worn like sashes around snake guardians a use them as a sign of rank among them. Blanca and Verta along with a six others wear them while the remaining ones are set up around the island on branches as security system. A total of fifteen exist so far counting the ones worn by the snake guardians and the ones around the island.
Load sharks
the 'load shark' automatons, were built to collect the jewels from the mine on dragon island and bring them back to Hiccups island so they can unloaded into the do so by travelling through a small underground river leading into my mines that surfaced in them so the sharks could be loaded up before swimming out and back to the island. When they get back to the island they'd swim into an underground pool and lay down on the bottom floor pressing down on a large panel. This panel would activate claws that would come out of the ground and hold them in place while the middle of there belies would open up forming an airtight hole above a vent that would open up beneath it. From there the storage compartment in the sharks would open up dropping the jewels down the vent which leads to a storage hold in the vault until they could be sorted later. When it comes to their designs they are exactly like the loot sharks in design with the only differences made in their designs was the underbelly opening up and an increase in size, besides that they were exactly the same in design to the looting sharks. There are currently three of them that are each sent out at least once a day to collect the loads of jewels collected from the mines.
Jewel Wig
This automaton was designed to help in the construction of jewellery by adding in details and placing small jewels in just the right places where Hiccup would find it difficult. As the name implies this automaton takes the form of a bug known as an earwig with the pincer like tail and six legs but is the size of Hiccups pinky but thinner than it so it wouldn't weigh enough to cause any damage to the jewelry if it was on them. To describe these automatons besides their size, as their name explains they take on the form of earwigs with an outer shell of gronkle iron like most of my automatons with four separate joints making up the body, not counting the head. I gave this automaton two multi jointed antenna that can be used to lift and place the smaller gems into the jewelry easily and carve in patterns into the jewelry while it's still soft from the heat. Along with this they'd been given two small peer stones for eyes so it could see and so Hiccup can see what they see with the life stone in its head allowing it to function. The other end of this automaton has pincers made from small curved blades that were also incredibly sharp which are used to move larger gems but also have a speed stinger venom tip for enemies. Hiccup has also given the tips of their feet a small piece of latch stone allowing them to climb on walls and other surfaces so they could easily be mistaken for the actual bug.
Guardian Sentinels
This automaton is like a sentinel that is able to fold its body in on itself forming a statue that resembled a sarcophagus in a way. When it was fully active though it gives the appearance of a heavily armoured warrior wielding two shields with pointed ends so they could be used as weapons. When fully activated it has two large X shaped shoulder pads with to top of the X reaching above the head to protect it the sides pulling in to hold onto the upper shoulders and the bottoms holding onto the arms with a fist sized blue crystal in the middle, lined with bronze that goes around the X's outer lining. The head had four eyeholes and resembled a helmet that covers the top of the head with a spear shape head mouth pointing down towards the chest. The chest looked like the upper part of chest armor lined with bronze with a blue crystal in the center lined with bronze while the waist was thin and painted black with an upside-down triangle between the legs. The legs were those of a bull with hooves at the bottom with blue crystals on the ankles lined with bronze that went up the backside and wrapped around the knees. The thighs had holes in them cutting down on wind resistance and the tops were lined with bronze with the sides having the same blue crystals lined with bronze. Then there's the arms that looked like long shields lined with bronze that had large blue crystals in the middle that wither also lined with bronze and while the tops were flat the bottoms had sharp blue crystals for stabbing.
When these automatons are in sleep mode in their folded up form the shoulder, pads are pulled in and the tops go underneath the edges of the helmet. The legs themselves would pull in together making it easier for the automaton to fold up before the blades on the bottom of the shields pull in making the bottoms flatten as the shields pull in underneath the shoulder pads. This completely shields the body from any form of damage and giving these sentinels the appearance of simple statues. As for the materials used to create these automatons, it was mostly gronkle iron while the bronze parts were gronkle iron mixed with bronze using fusion ore. As for the blue gems that were decorating the automaton, they were really sapphires mixed with anti-magic stones using fusion ore so if a magic user ever got onto the island, they'd have a hard time fighting using their powers. The gems in the eyes were peer stones connected to Hiccups eye, which allowed them to see, and for Hiccup to see through their own eyes so he knows who he's dealing gem in the center of the chest however is really a lifestone mixed with sapphire using fusion ore allowing the automaton to function and acts as the heart of the automaton.
Capture Globes
These automatons took the shape of giant bronze balls that are two feet taller than Stoick and incredibly effective when it comes to capturing people. These spheres are able to open up from the front revealing their insides that have a large two fingered that is connected to the inside by a large wire allowing them to be launched out and grab onto people. The claws would pin the victims' arms to the victims' sides making it impossible to move as they're pulled into the sphere, which is when it would close trapping them. Once the sphere fully closes the victim would be gassed with my knockout gas stopping them from struggling and trying to break out. Once unconscious the four thin upside down triangle shaped legs are released from the bottom and walk the sphere to wherever they were needed. These legs would withdraw when the spheres were going down hill so the sphere could roll down but I made the section the victims in a separate dome with small balls out of it preventing the inside from spinning. The spheres could also release spikes on the outside making them look like a mace allowing the ball to roll up hills. As for how it can see, there's an eye that pops out of the top and can be pulled back in allowing it to return to its ball form but the eye then flips upwards allowing it to see where it's rolling since then it could move around the ball so when it spins it seems like the eye stays in place. These spheres are also able to dig themselves into the ground and use two pronged claws or shovel hands that come out of their sides to pick up dirt or dead leaves and use them to cover themselves allowing them to camouflage themselves as traps.
For materials used to create them the majority of the automatons body is gronkle iron mixed with bronze, polar quartz, depths sapphire and ruby dragons breath. This is so they're able to survive in extreme environments since they needed to with what I intended to use them for. The thick wire that was used to pull the claw back in was made of the same material with the claw also having latch stone added into the mix to help get a better grip. The eye used to see is made of peer stone that's connected to Hiccups eye allowing him to see what they see and making sure he knows who was captured. The balls on the outer lair are also made of the same materials as the rest but had bubble stone mixed into it so the ones contained in the ball would be able to breath after the gas is let out of the ball. Besides all this there was also a life stone built into the same compartment as the eye of the sphere but hidden behind the eye so it wouldn't easily be damaged.
Stinging Stingray
These automatons take the form of a stingray that's about seven feet wide and five feet long and are very powerful automatons designed for the purpose of taking ships down in naval battles. Their tails have drill at the end that rapidly rotates, allowing them to drill their tails into the hulls of ships before the drill opens up and the stinging stingray can drop a few specially designed bombs into the ships lower deck. These bombs have fragile shells that will go off a few second after being released and depending on what Hiccups intention is towards the ship was since it could be bombs loaded with spark stone so it would blow a hole in the ships side or release his knockout gas subduing those below deck. Along with this the tail could also open up the drill and launch spikes loaded with acid that would eat away at the ship from below the water. On the front of the fins they have retractable hooks that allow them to latch onto the ships sides while they use their tails to drill into the hull.
The way they work is their outer shell is made of pure gronkle iron mixed with depths sapphire making it possible for them to dive down deep into the waters with no problems. Built into their heads is the life stone that allows them to function while at the front of their heads are peer stones mixed with gronkle iron allowing them to see and connected to Hiccups eye so he could see what they see. The drills on the tails are made of the same material as the bodies but are incredibly sharp so they'd have an easier time breaking through the hulls while the tail itself is made up of joints allowing it to move more flexibly. At the beginning of the tale in the bodies are three chambers connected to the inside the tails inner part that was built like a pipe allowing the bombs or acid to go down and be dropped into the ships. Along with this the hooks in the fins are made out of latch stone to make gripping the ship easier and for when people try to grab them, Hiccup installed two fist sized Zeus stones into their bodies in separate containers that can push the Zeus stones up into the main body electrifying it. This ability also comes in handy for catching fish since when the Zeus stones are used they electrify the water killing the fish around it so they are easy to collect. Presently only three are built and kept by the dock, hung up on the side of the walls ready to be deployed when Hiccup needs them.
Boom Beatles
These automatons are twice the size of Hiccups thumbs top joint and given their name for a reason since they may be small, but they can create explosions. They are made in no less than groups of fifty that Hiccup lines up in a special canister that has a large pipe in the middle that they hold onto. When he needs them, he pull the pipe out and activates them before sending them all towards different targets and when they're all in place he detonates them causing large explosions all around the area. In other words, these automatons sole reason for creation was to help Hiccup catch enemies by surprise when they're hiding in their own secret bases. The way these beetles are designed is they have thin shells made of copper and feather stone with wings made of feather stone allowing them to fly. Their heads held tiny peer stones allowing them to see while also allowing Hiccup to see what they see and a tiny life stone allowing them to function. In the backs of their shells are small spark stones that give the beetles their ability to cause explosions that may not be too powerful but enough to do some damage and cause some panic. Their legs however are made of latch stone so they can plant themselves on different surfaces before they're set to go off meaning more areas can be affected.
Supplying Sea Horses
These automatons are half the size of Hiccups head and as the name implies are made to look like large sea horses and were built to gather items. The main design of these sea horses is they have a thin spine that runs down their backs using small poles to move them left and right to help steer the way they go. At the top of each of these poles is a single luminescent stone mixed with depths sapphire allowing them to light their bodies up and shed light on the rocks or plants they were collecting. To help them move around fast small fans are installed next to the fins that rapidly spin right pushing the sea horse through the water towards where they needed to go while using their spine to steer.
As for collecting the materials, the way they worked is they have two separate fans in their bodies with on at the back of the head and one in the lower body with both spinning left so they're sucking in instead of pushing out. Inside their bodies is a glass container that allows them to safely store the item they've harvested until it could be unloaded and sent through the tail to their next container. The way they collect items is through their snouts that suck up the smaller items like sea algae and other types of sea plants that grow on rocks. There are also the ones built not to collect the resources that grow on rocks and but other resources and its these ones that got a minor adjustment with how they collect items. These ones have bodies that have two sets of two fingered claws in their bodies with one set on the upper part and the other on the lower part. Beneath the lower set though is a tiny rotating saw that is pushed out and cuts the material so it can be pulled back into the sea horses' body where it is stored until it can be put away. Their tails opened at the base by flipping open like the lid of a chest using hinges I put in so their tails would open backwards allowing the items they collected to be dropped out into the next container.
As for the materials they are all made of, their bodies were mainly made of gronkle iron mixed with depths sapphire in order to make sure they weren't affected by the water pressure. Their spines were made of waterproof leather making it easier to move so they could easily steer where they were going. Their tails were pipes with cranks inside them and lined with leather allowing them to uncurl and release what they had collected into the next container. Their eyes were made of peer stones mixed with dive stone, connected to Hiccups eye allowing him to see what they see while a life stone mixed with depths sapphire in their heads allows them to function.
Jelly Fish Collectors
These automaton are paired up with the Supplying Sea Horses and they take the form of a large jellyfish with a body that's around half the size of the fully-grown sea turtles that are seen in Hawaii. These automatons have their names because they are able to help gather more stuff with the supplying sea horses that they're set up with. The way it works is the sides of their bodies outer shells are fitted with five indents that are designed to fit the bodies of the sea horses in them. The inside of these bodies had large glass containers that are shaped like the bodies and could be removed with the tops being lined with bubble stone to form an air bubble inside preventing any leakages. Each of these automatons had four tentacles placed on the inside of their outer shell and around the container, that they used not only to get around but also to act for defense, grab onto things and remove the glass containers before replacing them with empty ones. In order to see I gave them four peer stones mixed with dive stone the size of my own eyes and placed in between each tentacle so they'd be able to keep an eye on the sea horses.
For the materials they are made of the jellyfish's outer shell is made of gronkle iron mixed with depth sapphire allowing it to remain underwater without being damaged by the pressure. The tentacles are made of the same material, but their joints had gears allowing them to bend while the ends have latch stone so they can grip things easily. Built into the middle of the jellyfish's outer shell is the life stone that allows it to function and circling around it is depths sapphire mixed with luminescent stones so it could act like a beacon for the sea horses.
As for how they work the slots in their bodies have holes in the bottoms for the sea horses to put their tail in and these holes lead into the containers that are in their bodies. The sea horses then empty their containers by using the fans to push the contents out of the containers, through the tail and into the glass containers in the jellyfish's bodies. When their containers are fully emptied, they'd be released to go gather more until the container in the jellyfish's body is full allowing more of the herbs to be collected. When the jellyfish containers are filled completely, they would return to the submersible ship that had been given slots which the jellyfish would float down into before extending their tentacles into slots that are built into the sides of the slots pushing the tentacles into the ship's cargo hold before they begin spinning their tentacles around like a windmill. By doing this they twist some cranks that open the slot beneath the jelly fish allowing them to use their tentacles to lower the full container onto a waiting table before I give them an empty one to fill. Once their containers are fully replaced, they rotate their tentacles in the opposite direction closing the opening before they go to collect more of the stuff while the filled containers are placed on a shelf I installed on the wall with special shelves to hold them and the empty ones.
Harvest Mantis
This automaton takes the shape of a palm sized prayer mantis with a shell made from gronkle iron, mixed together with diamond steel giving it a much harder shell. The ends of their forearms were bladed sickles made of the same material as the shell and could be maneuvered by the arms allowing them to use the blades to cut the fruits, nuts and herbs down. They had peer stones connected to my eye for their own eyes allowing them to see and so Hiccup can see what they see, and make sure what they harvest was ripe and a life stone to allow them to function. The bottom of their feet are made from latch stone in order to allow them to easily walk on branches and stems so they could easily cut the fruit and herbs down. The back part had a shell made of the same material as the shell but it could lift up to reveal wings made from Featherstone that were kept covered so they wouldn't be exposed to sunlight but when revealed they'd rapidly flap allowing the automaton to fly.
Snapping Crabs
These automatons are like the Supplying sea horses but unlike those which were made to collect samples of solid and tall undersea plant life, these automatons are made to collect things from the seabed. The way they're built is their shells are made from gronkle iron mixed with diamond steel and then painted red. Their pincers edges though are blunt and made of latch stone to allow easier grip and to avoid damaging what they collect but blades made from gronkle iron mixed with diamond steel can be pushed out for both cutting things and defense. The bottoms of their legs are also made from latch stone to allow them to easily hold onto rocks they climb onto when collecting things like barnacles. Their eyes are made of peer stone connected to the eye of the dragpm allowing them to see and allowing Hiccup to see what they see and just above their eyes though was the life stone that allows them to function. The way they work is the insides of their bodies are completely hollow with the top being able to split open four ways so the snapping crabs could place the items they collect into them. They can then open the bottoms of their bodies to drop off what they've collected into jelly fish collectors that have slots fitted for them but they're mainly used to collect barnacles off ships on the docks.
Ink collecting octopus
As the name implies, these automatons take the form of an octopus and are used for collecting ink, mainly from squids that they spook. These automatons are made from a mixture of gronkle iron and depths sapphire to allow them to dive deep with the suctions on their tentacles made of latch stone to allow it to grip things, eyes made from peer stones to see and a lifestone in the middle to give them life. Inside the head is a container made from glass and bubble stone to keep water from pouring in by making a bubble with a small hatch at the bottom that can open to let thing in or close to keep things out. At the bottom between the tentacles where the mouth is meant to be are four blades that can rotate in either direction to either suck something in or allow the automaton to move fast in the water. The way it works is they grab onto the squid and get close to where the ink is sprayed and when it sprays out its ink, the automaton quickly sucks it up through its mouth, using the rotating blades to bring it all into the container in its head. They would then return to the submersible ship and enter the slots made for them in which the tops of their heads would open and push out the containers holding ink before being taken out and given new empty ones.
Honey birds
Named because they were designed to resemble hummingbirds but instead of collecting nectar from flowers, they collect honey from beehives. Its body is made of gronkle iron mixed with Featherstone and lined with bronze to make it more appealing to the eye with the feathers of the wings being made of Featherstone, the eyes out of peer stone and small wires above the tail feathers made of latch stone. The way it works is the wings would flap so fast they'd be a blur, allowing the automaton to speed through the air in search of beehives and when they find one, they'd begin the harvest. They would do this with the wires above their tail feathers would wrap around the hive so they could get a good grip with their wings being used to steady them. Then they plunge their beak that is made like a syringe needle used for removing venom and then use three rotating blades inside to pull the honey out of the hive and into a small glass container that's in their body that can open up and push out the container.
Library automaton
This automaton has four three jointed arms with two fingered claws like those of a scorpion with flat ends to avoid damaging the books it picks up. As for its body, it has a torso where the arms are connected with round slots in the back to hold scrolls while there's a thick pipe connecting it to its lower body that I shaped like a small wagon so it could carry books with eight crab legs. It's head on the other hand is oval shaped with a long shovel head like chin and just above the chin pas a short thin pipe that had peer stones withing them allowing it to see while the life stone was in the head. As for the rest of its body, it was mainly made of bronze mixed with gronkle iron using fusion ore and as for the automaton itself, it's used for sorting the books in the library.
Turtle Carriers
Automatons shaped like large turtles with their bodies and shell made of diamond steel mixed with depths sapphire, peer stones for eyes, a life stone in their heads and the tops of their shells being made of flexible glass mixed with gronkle iron to strengthen it. Now their shells were hollow and lined alpaca fur on the inside making it extra soft with pillows lining the edges making it comfortable with one being small for babies to play in are also ones big enough to hold up to five people in the shell with the sides of the shell being lined with a circle shaped bench, a small crate in the middle with medical and food supplies while the glass top opens four ways.
Mining Moles
Mole shaped automatons that are used for mining but not just for jewels. These automatons are only a little bigger than my head and have bodies made from gronkle iron mixed with diamond steel, life stoned in their fore heads and peerstones mixed with some luminescent crystals. They'd also been given them claws made from the same material as their bodies but the middle claw could be extended and then be pulled back and forth so it could use a serrated edge to act as a saw. The reason for these moles is they can dig into the walls of the volcano where my diamond mine was without risking any cave-ins and check for any lava flows or gas pockets without endangering my dragons. Along with this they'd been built to also harvest plant roots for medicines and other such things
