Once again, Snape found himself and Potter at Grimmauld Place. Molly was happily chatting about one thing or another while the toddlers sat on the floor next to them playing.

"Mine!" Ron snatched a toy from Harry's hand.

Harry stared at him for a moment and then shrugged, picking up another toy.

"Mine!" Ron snapped, snatching that toy too.

"Ronald, that is not nice!" Molly scolded her son. "You can share your toys."

"No," Ron pouted. "Awways hafta share."

Molly sighed and gazed apologetically at Snape. "I'm sorry. Ron always had a problem sharing when he was little. I think because he had so many siblings to share with." She chuckled.

"It's fine. I brought some of Harry's toys." Snape said, giving a glare to Ron. He had ordered Potter his own clothes and toys yesterday and they had finally arrived this morning.

Ron gulped at Snape's glare and scooted closer to his mother.

Harry happily began going through his bag of new toys, pausing when he noticed Ron watching wistfully. He held out a toy. "Share?"

Ron broke into a big smile. "Tanks!" He took the toy and handed Harry one of his.

Snape smirked before turning back to Molly. "I shouldn't be gone too long. I just need to get some ingredients. I'm experimenting on different potions, trying to find an antidote. I feel like I'm close but there is a missing piece. I just have to find it."

"It's no problem, Severus. Harry will be fine here." Molly said brightly.

Snape got up and turned towards the floo, glancing back to see Potter staring at him with wide eyes. "I will come back," he said. Potter visibly relaxed, gave him a grin, and then began playing with Weasley again.

Sirius had kept himself scarce while Snape was there but as soon as he left, he joined the boys. He was having a great time, playing with his godson and Ron. Getting to see his pup as a toddler was brilliant. The only thing he wished was that Harry was living with him. Never mind that he hated to have to see Snape, he also hated how attached Harry was to the dour man. It made no sense, how can any child like Snivellus? Ron was afraid of him but no, not Harry. Harry seemed to actually like him!

"I'm fwying!" Harry squealed as he ran around with his arms out.

"You like to fly?" Sirius asked with a grin.

"Bwoom!" Harry giggled.

Sirius looked at him in surprise. "You remember flying on a broom?"

"I sent Severus one of the kids' old toddler brooms," Molly said as she came into the room. "He must have let Harry ride it."

"Dwaco showded me!" Harry said happily.

"Draco? As in Malfoy?" Sirius shook his head. "I really don't like this. Harry staying with that git, and he lets the Malfoy brat be around him?"

"Sirius, honestly," Molly sighed. "You really need to let go of your schoolboy grudge."

"It is not a schoolboy grudge!" Sirius protested.

"Whas a git?" Harry asked innocently.

Molly glared at Sirius. "It's a not nice word," she told the little boy gently. "You shouldn't say it. Right, Sirius?"

"Uh, yeah," Sirius said. He chuckled suddenly. "Why is Ron dancing like that?"

"Ronnie, do you need to use the potty?" Molly asked her son, who was hopping from one foot to the other.

Ron nodded. "Mummy, hafta go!" He whined.

"Okay, come on," Molly took his hand. "We'll be right back." She told Sirius and Harry.

"Hey pup, want to see something cool?" Sirius summoned his own broom.

Harry's eyes went wide. "A big bwoom!" He exclaimed.

"Yup." Sirius said.

"It go higher than mine?"

"No, your Firebolt – oh, you mean your toddler broom," Sirius chuckled. "Yeah pup. This broom can go very high."

"To the sky?" Harry asked with wonder.

"To the clouds," Sirius grinned. He glanced around. "You want to go for a ride?" He asked in a quieter voice. He wasn't supposed to leave Grimmauld Place but surely one flight around the neighborhood wouldn't hurt. He could cast a Disillusionment Charm on them, they would be safe. He really needed to get out of this house and flying with Harry would be so much fun. "Come on, we have to be fast." After casting the charm, he took Harry's hand and led him out of the house, his broom in the other hand.

"Whee!" Harry squealed as he and his godfather flew up into the sky.

"Isn't this fun, pup?" Sirius laughed. It felt great to fly again.

"Yes! Higher, higher," Harry giggled.

Sirius flew around once more before he noticed movement near his house. The Fidelius Charm kept any death eaters from finding his home but that doesn't mean they weren't around, hoping to come across an order member. They knew where his parents used to live, but thanks to the Charm they couldn't actually find it. He slowed his flying and his blood froze. Two death eaters had sent up camp near his home.

"Time to go back, pup," Sirius said as he turned them around and flew back to Grimmauld Place. He wasn't sure how long the Disillusionment Charm would hold, he couldn't take any chances. If they saw him and Harry…

Sirius breathed a sigh of relief when he and Harry entered his home and he knew they were safe.

"Do that again?" Harry asked hopefully.

"Absolutely not!"

Both Sirius and Harry flinched at the loud voice and looked to see Molly stomping towards them, a furious look on her face.

Molly shrieked. "I've been looking everywhere for you two. I feared the worst! Did you take him flying? How could you, Sirius?" She demanded as the floo flared.

"How could he do what?" Snape asked as he stepped out of the floo. He froze when he saw Black holding his broom. "Did you take him out of this house?" He asked dangerously. He couldn't have, even Black wouldn't be that stupid.

"We just went for a quick fly -"

"You imbecile!" Snape roared. "What if you had been found by death eaters? Do you have any idea what they would do to him?"

Molly swept Harry up in her arms. "Come on, dear. Let's go find Ron and play." She said. She gave Sirius a disapproving look. "You should know better, Sirius."

"We were under a Disillusionment Charm!" Sirius threw his hands up. "I'm not an idiot."

"Oh, I beg to differ," Snape hissed. "You are the very definition of an idiot! You put that boy in danger and I will not allow it!"

"Don't act like you care for Harry," Sirius scoffed. "I don't believe it for a second. I saw some of your death eater friends when we were flying, you probably wish they had found us!"

Snape didn't even bother with his wand, he simply punched Sirius in the face.

"Ahh!" Sirius fell to the ground, blood spurting from his nose. "I'll kill you!" He jumped up and lunged towards Snape.

"Enough!" A deep voice boomed.

Dumbledore was standing in the room, a furious look on his face. They had been so involved in their argument, that they hadn't heard the floo activate. Molly stood next to the Headmaster, her hands on her hips and a scowl on her face.

"It's a good thing I kept the boys in the other room," Molly said huffily.

"What are you doing here, Albus?" Sirius asked, still holding his nose.

"Molly sent me a message that you took Harry out of this house," Dumbledore said as he took out his wand. He pointed it at Sirius's nose. "Episkey!"

"Ow!" Sirius winced and then felt his nose. "Thank you," he muttered.

"Yes, he took Potter out on his broom and flew all around," Snape said sarcastically. "They had a wonderful time."

"We did!" Sirius argued. "I put us under the disillusionment charm and as soon I saw death eaters, I brought him right back!"

"It still wasn't safe! Anything could have happened!" Snape yelled.

"Sirius, you know it is not safe for you and especially for Harry to leave the protection here," Dumbledore said. "I'm disappointed you would put your godson in danger."

Sirius paled. "I didn't, I made sure we were safe." He looked at Dumbledore pleadingly. "I would never put Harry in danger."

"Not on purpose," Dumbledore agreed. "But you did today. You took a risk that wasn't necessary."

"I hate being here!" Sirius snapped. "I hate this house, I hate being stuck here. I just wanted to have some fun with Harry. I barely get to see him, no matter what age he is."

"I do understand," Dumbledore said softly. "I'm sorry we have been unable to find Pettigrew and prove your innocence. I'm sorry for those twelve years you spent in Azkaban. But this is war, Sirius. We have to do things we don't want to. And right now, Harry is extremely vulnerable. He knows nothing about the danger he is in. His safety has to come first."

"I know," Sirius said with a sigh. "I'm sorry. It won't happen again."

"No, it won't because Harry won't be coming back here," Snape said coolly.

"You can't do that! He is my godson!" Sirius protested.

"And I am his guardian," Snape shot back.

"You shouldn't be!"

"Sirius, Severus has been doing wonderfully with Harry," Molly said. "You see how happy Harry is, how much healthier he looks. Does he look or act like he is being mistreated? Does he seem scared of Severus?"

"No, but your son does," Sirius muttered.

"But Harry doesn't," Dumbledore pointed out. "Promise me you will never do anything like this again."

"I promise." Sirius sighed.

"I'm still not bringing Potter here," Snape said.

"Then I'll come to the castle," Sirius shrugged.

"You can't be seen -"

"I'll come as Padfoot," Sirius said cheerfully. "And I'll hang out with Harry in your quarters, shedding and slobbering everywhere."

Molly bit her lip to keep from laughing and Dumbledore coughed to cover a laugh.

Snape shut his eyes for a moment. "Fine. I'll bring Potter back to visit. But I will be staying and making sure you don't put that child in danger again."

"His name is Harry," Sirius said in irritation. "You're taking care of him and you can't call him by his first name? Why? So that you can still pretend he is James and continue to hate him?"

"I do not hate him!" Snape hissed.

"Fine, you don't hate him now. But what about when he is back to fifteen?"

"Sirius, you know Severus has to treat Harry a certain way during class," Dumbledore said.

"Yeah, and I'm sure it breaks his heart to do it," Sirius said sarcastically.

"I do not hate him and will not hate him even when he returns to fifteen," Snape said through gritted teeth. "If I have to act a certain way towards him then I will. But I will make sure that he will know it is an act."

"Why? Because now you care about him?" Sirius mocked

"Yes!" Snape snapped.

Sirius stared at him and then sighed, rubbing his hand over his face. "I still don't think I trust you."

"My heart breaks," Snape rolled his eyes.

"Nape!" Harry came running into the room, a huge grin on his face. "Guess what?"

"What?" Snape asked, picking the toddler up.

"We fwew!"

"Yes, I heard," Snape said dryly. He sighed. "Did you enjoy it?"

Harry nodded eagerly.

"Of course you did," Snape said with a sigh.

"Fwy again?" Harry asked.

"Not today."

"Aww," Harry turned his puppy dog eyes to Sirius.

"Uh, not today pup," Sirius said, although it was hard to tell him no.

"How can you take him flying at Hogwarts? Someone might see him?" Molly asked in concern.

"I'll glamour him and if anyone asks, say he is Minerva's grandson," Snape said smoothly. "Miss Granger can take him out, it would make sense that Minerva would entrust her grandson's care to her Prefect."

"Oh, not a bad plan," Sirius said.

"So happy you approve," Snape rolled his eyes.

Once back at the castle and leaving Potter with Hermione in his quarters, Snape finds Minerva in the teachers' lounge, intending to speak with her about pretending Potter is her grandson.

"Severus, how is the research?" McGonagall asked.

"Still ongoing," Snape answered. He stiffened when Umbridge headed towards them.

"Professors, when will Mr. Potter be back?" Umbridge asked in her usual fake sweet voice. "He is missing a lot of school, as is Mr. Weasley."

"Unless you want to catch Goblin's Cough, it is better he stay home until he is completely better," McGonagall said briskly.

"And it is better for us Professors not to have to put up with him or Weasley in class," Snape added.

"True. But I admit, I do miss assigning Mr. Potter detentions," Umbridge smirked. "Well, keep me updated." She waddled away.

"I can't stand that woman," McGonagall muttered.

"She is a nuisance," Snape agreed.

"So, when shall I come and visit my grandson?" McGonagall asked brightly.

Snape smirked. "I take it Albus already spoke with you."

"He did and I don't mind at all," McGonagall chuckled. "The poor dear should get some outside time."

"He did earlier today," Snape said darkly.

McGonagall nodded. "Yes, Albus told me about that. The nerve of Sirius, honestly. I don't know what he was thinking. I sent him a Howler."

Snape stared at her for a moment and then began laughing.
